Hey girls as we are about to get thrown out of our thread I have started a new one so we can continue manically looking for EWCM, sore (.)(.)s and orange feet whilst chanting 'in with love, out with BFNs'.

Come on over/in

sk

bucky good luck with the caffeine withdrawal. beware - you'll be very sleepy (just pretend it's a PG symptom)!

poppysocks · 02/10/2007 17:59

I have decided to (try to) give up symptom spotting this month as I am SURE I'm inventing them.

I may have been feeling nauseous, but this is only really when I think about it and hungry.

I am always tired to a greater or lesser extent. In fact at the moment it's to a lesser extent.

My boobs are feeling bigger and have been a bit sore. My tummy also feels bloated. However, I have definitely put a bit of weight on recently and the soreness is probably because I keep prodding them.

Having not really had a go at this symptom spotting before I'm trying to notice things that I may have just ignored before. Hmmm. Last time the only thing I picked up on was one lumpy breast at about 5 weeks and then the general soreness only kicked in later and the sickness barely at all.

Was feeling quite positive yesterday after reading about the milkly cm after ovulation, but that was only for a few days and has now stopped. Woke up this morning with a really strong instinct that I'm not pregnant. Wasn't even thinking about it - just popped into my head before I'd even worked out what day of the week it was.

AF expected any time over the weekend. See you in couple of weeks to start all over again!

Good luck to everyone else though!

ClairePO · 02/10/2007 19:07

Evening all. I read as far as squatting on the loo before it just all got too much and I quickly closed the window. I won't be trying to find my cervix ta very much and I'm not even mentioning it to my DP in case he thinks its a new bedroom game and tries to have a go.

I'm not symptom spotting at all because the doctor told me not to try again until after 1st AF after m/c but if I was sympton spotting and I did think I had an LH surge last Thursday would there be anything significant to a very mild ache in my side sort of a couple of inches to the side of my belly button but slightly down?

ClairePO · 02/10/2007 19:11

symptom symptom symptom, must read before pressing post!

GryffinGirl · 02/10/2007 19:25

ClairePO - sounds like mettelsmertz or whatever the technical term is called for pain down there indicating you were ovulating ,if you are mid-cycle that is. significant!

G*D I have had such a rubbish day at work. Anyone else had a shocker? The sooner I get up the duff so I can escape on maternity leave the better (not the attitude, I know ). You can tell when everyone here has been working really hard for a while, because as soon as it goes quiet, suddenly there is a rash of pregnancies. People have time/energy to BD and looking after a newborn baby is marginally less sleep depriving than working in this office.

Gryffin you could always pursue your cervix to cheer yourself up after a bad day. "It feels like the tip of your nose." apparently, or you could just touch your nose which might be easier LOL

OOH look what I found...its a post on another forum. From Mrs Jay...I've never heard of freaky microscope things?? ...ferns??

Hello Ladies,

I have just recently had a miscarriage and it was very hard on me. I just wanted to start trying right away, but the doctor said "wait 3 months." Well, I have this microscope, it looks like a tube of lipstick, chapstick, whatever your preference is. I got it at Walgreens. It is safe to use everyday, and you do not have to use urine. You use your saliva. How it works is, you spit on the lense, wait for it to dry, then look at it on the microscope. When we ovulate, our saliva produces high amounts of salt that look like little ferns on the lense of the microscope. It sounds strange, but it works. A little expensive, but you can use it everyday. It has a lifetime warrantee on it. It is better than using those ovulation sticks that only come seven in a box. If you are wondering when you are fertile this would be a good choice. If you get one let me know how it goes.

I love the Cervical pursuit game!!! LOL

I would like to stand up and be counted as one who is acquainted with her cervix, and I am proud of it!!

Have to say though - it feels nothing like the tip of my nose, I can tell if it's hard/soft/open/closed but the actual position of it is very tricky!!

Runs away embarrassed!!!

debinaustria · 02/10/2007 20:10

Wow - Bucky, where did you find that gem? Spitting and looking at it through a microscope? Think I'd rather be on 1st name terms with my cm and basal body temperature!!

Deb

Bucky2007 · 02/10/2007 20:14

Deb I am going to find that product for us all to see. I am on a mission now.

Gryffyngirl I've had a shocker of a day at work too!!! DH and I had always thought that he would be a SAHD but the day I've just had I'm having serious second thoughts about that!!! Got to be up at 5.30 tomorrow and wont get home 'til bout 8. The question is, do I have the energy to bd tonight?! And if not, will I be oh so resentful if no BFP and blame my work forever more...... Woah, very rambly sorry!!!!

Right, am off to investigate my cervix - am mildly alarmed by the thought that it might feel like the tip of my nose - have all sorts of images in my head now!!!

debinaustria · 02/10/2007 20:18

Bucky. is this it www.medicaltestcentre.co.uk/Trying_To_Conceive/Ovulation_Tests/Saliva_Ovulation_Test_:_Reusable!.htm l?gclid=CKa0naj28I4CFSbXXgodL2Y0KQ

PicknMix · 02/10/2007 20:20

I found a bit about it too!!

Microscope Info

PicknMix · 02/10/2007 20:23

Although check out the last sentence....

"And more than one patient has attributed a successful pregnancy to this diagnostic device"

Thats not the best stats ever is it!?!? I was just skim reading though so maybe there's more to it than that!

Bucky2007 · 02/10/2007 20:25

oh. I am a bit late! Deb your page is cool. Shall I get one and test it out for us all?

OP posts:
PicknMix · 02/10/2007 20:29

Definitely think you should Bucky - was thinking I might have to invest myself ....

and even better, it comes in an unmarked parcel so DH can't know I've spent out yet more money!!! (although, knowing him I reckon he'd have the white coat on and plastic goggles at the ready to do the testing for me! )

ClairePO · 02/10/2007 20:31

GG I hope it wasn't ovulation pain - DP is away and we assumed I was ovulating at the weekend so BD'd a lot. Not that I'm trying because doc said to wait a month still missing it this month would probably be for the best.

I have to say spitting on a slide and viewing it through a microscope seems easier than trying to find my cervix. Then again wouldn't you think you were ovulating everytime you ate a packet of crisps?

Bucky2007 · 02/10/2007 20:36

I might be a bit of a MN social reject though talking about my ferns whilst everyone else is looking for faces. 99.9% accuracy is quite good though. And lipstick size can go in my make up bag and, and I am giving this a little too much thought really. Will take a five minute consideration period and then if I still want it I will get it.

OP posts:
Bucky2007 · 02/10/2007 20:38

LOL at the crips clairePO, now I am undecided again.

OP posts:
debinaustria · 02/10/2007 21:30

I think you should try it for us Bucky and when you conceive using the information you've gained from your lipstick microscope you can say "I told you so"

Deb

GryffinGirl · 02/10/2007 21:52

Cervical Pursuit?! Bucky, you are far too funny to be confined to MN. Perhaps that should be the title of your stand up act at the Edinburgh Festival next year.....the new "Vagina Monologues" for the TTC classes . But what happens when you win - do you get a wedge of cheese?!

Arghh ignore me and my crudeness everyone

Picknmix - work is cr*p. I think it was fundementally cruel of my parents to bring me into this world without a trust fund, so I never need work. Only joking, I used to love my job, but it is sooooo ANNOYING

Claire - Fingers crossed it wasn't ovulation

deb, bucky and digital - those spit on a slide test kit gadgets are TOO MUCH! What happens if you spit on it after a bad of saly and vinegar crisps . bet those boffins didn't think of that

GryffinGirl · 02/10/2007 21:53

that would be a "bag of salt and vinegar crisps" of course

Bucky2007 · 02/10/2007 21:56

If you win Cervical Pursuit you get a baby .
