Hi all, looking for some fellow ladies for support along our journeys. I'm 36 this year and TTC for the first time. First month just now and nervous. Any tips? I'm using clearblue 4 day ovulation tests just now and track my temp. Does anyone take certain vitamins? Thanks all and good luck 💗 xxx

@Suki2020 it's my first cycle TTC, so this is all completely new to me. I've learned so much this last week from Googling and Mumsnet though. Just found out that my partner might have to go away for a few days soon, I'm fully expecting this to coincide with my fertile window... Oh well!

Hi I'm TTC for the first time. Don't know why I feel so anxious about it. I'm 31 and in my tww. CY

Hi Everyone I’ve just turned 30 in March and came off my pill in April, had withdrawal bleed 30 28 days later but then next cycle was 37 days.. I just found out my best friend is having her 2nd after literally trying once! I have been using the cb tests but all circles but as it’s the 2nd month I don’t know if I missed it as I am using apps.. this has totally consumed me it’s all I want now we have started trying. My partner is 40 and I’m worried that will harm our chances he has a 12 year old from previous relationship so he doesn’t quite get it! Sorry for sounding so neurotic it’s nice to have people that seem as obsessed as me!

Hey gang! It's been a while since I last posted, this is cycle #3 and I got my static smiley yesterday - so busy DTD this week haha. I lost this thread so glad it's popped up again! 😊

Meg87 · 29/07/2020 16:51

Hi @Nic2020, wishing you luck! It is quite all-consuming isn't it! I certainly feel like it's on my mind most of the time. Not going into work so much at the moment (due to covid) gives me a lot of time to think about it... Which is probably not a good thing!

Hi @LeopardLover, I think I might be in a similar situation to you. I just did an OPK (my first one, ever!), and while the test line wasn't quite as dark as the control line it wasn't too far off, and my app has classed it as "high", which I'm very surprised about! So looks like I'll be DTD as well! Quite confused though as I'm only on CD10, which seems really early. Especially as my cycle has been 31, 34 and 35 days in length the last three cycles so really wasn't expecting to get a high reading so early on. The three earlier cycles were 26, 27 and 29 days long so they are a bit irregular, guess I'm having a short one right now!

LeopardLover · 29/07/2020 17:14

@Meg87 Oooh, interesting! So I generally have high fertility CD10-C12 and the peak CD13 (which stays for 48 hours) so could be similar for you? I usually have 28 day cycles but they vary slightly! X

MrsMacG10 · 29/07/2020 17:19

Hi All, I hope that things even out for those having trouble with their cycle (is there any easier way to tag people btw, i always forget usernames when I'm mid way through a post 🤣)
I got another BFN today so think thats me out for the month. Starting to feel PMSy too.
Fingers crossed for cycle 3 🤞
How many times does everyone DTD in the fertility window?
Its so nice to here everyone has similar feeling towards TTC. I think about it a lot now and notice so much more when people are pregnant or just had a baby. Im so anxious I've left it too late xxx sending positivity to everyone 💗

Checking in again. About to start opk again. Not tracked properly for a couple of months as we stopped trying. Ovulation predicted for the 8th so better get prepared to up our game!

Meg87 · 29/07/2020 19:27

Hi @MrsMacG10, sorry to hear about the BFN - how many DPO are you? I completely get your anxiety, but the odds are in your favour for you getting a BFP, so don't lose hope. And you've only been trying for two cycles! 😁 I know plenty of people who've got pregnant at 36 and older, it's really not at all uncommon these days.

It is really easy to think the worst though, I do it all the time. e.g. I've started getting quite irregular periods, so now I'm paranoid I'm going through perimenopause... Or I'll read about things that make it harder to conceive, like a short luteal phase, or a hostile uterus, and wonder if I've got them! Sorry, this is probably not helping 😂

@LeopardLover I wonder if I am quite similar to you. Think I'll do another test a bit later. Wish I'd tested yesterday as well, but I thought that CD9 would be far too early!

MrsMacG10 · 31/07/2020 09:27

Thanks @Meg87 I had another BFN yesterday so just awaiting AF on sunday now. As you say its early days, fingers crossed for next month. We are off out tonight so means I can have a few drinks too which is always a bonus. I've always been paranoid about my age and having babies but no rationale behind it. My sis had a baby when she was 34 and all was fine.
Hows everyone doing? Any exciting weekend plans?xxx

Being able to have a drink is definitely one of the perks of not being pregnant 🥂 I hope you enjoyed your night out @MrsMacG10.
I've been trying to use OPKs over the last few days to help me work out when I'm ovulating but... They're not helping at all! The results keep fluctuating, and it's so confusing. I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong (e.g. maybe my urine is sometimes too diluted, even though I make sure I don't drink anything for a couple of hours before taking the test, or maybe it's because I haven't consistently been testing at the same time every day...), or if there's something wrong with the tests, or if there's something wrong with me! 😕 I've attached a pic so you can see what I mean.

Thanks @meg87 we had a lovely night. AF due today but no signs and still not had my usual cramping. Still all tests are negative 🙈 so no idea! Could be just that I'm late a day or so but doesn't generally happen and my temp is still high. Im so confused.
I use the clear blue ovulation tests as I find them easier and less confusing. I track my temp and test 2 times on the days leading up to my predicted ovulation. Do you track your temp at all?xxx

OP posts:
Meg87 · 03/08/2020 19:37

Hi @MrsMacG10, any sign of AF?
I don't track my temp, I read that you've got to do it as soon as you wake up, after having 3 uninterrupted hours of sleep prior to that. And I'm such a rubbish sleeper, I feel like I wake up so much, and knowing that I need a decent night's sleep to be able to accurately take my temperature is just going to make me less likely to sleep! 😣 Wish I could though, it sounds like it's pretty reliable.

MrsMacG10 · 05/08/2020 22:24

@Meg87 AF arrived yesterday unfortunately. At least I know now are can move on to my new cycle xxx ❤

ShellMc2237 · 06/08/2020 07:33

@Meg87 sorry to hear that, good luck for the next one!

I did a test at 10 dpo this morning and bfn so just waiting for AF now
