Hi all, looking for some fellow ladies for support along our journeys. I'm 36 this year and TTC for the first time. First month just now and nervous. Any tips? I'm using clearblue 4 day ovulation tests just now and track my temp. Does anyone take certain vitamins? Thanks all and good luck 💗 xxx

@ZonesAndBones

Hi again all :)

We are just entering the fertile week now (CD9 at the min!) so we are DTD once a day just to be sure we dont miss ovulation when it comes along. Using OPIKs too...too early for a bold line just yet.

Quick question...is it OK to still take baths when trying to conceive? The shower is grand and all but I flippen love a bath in the evening. Just a bit worried it might effect our chances...

I love a good bath, I don't have one every night I usually shower but I do treat myself occasionally and I did have a couple when TTC. it didn't hinder our chances :) x
timswifey · 06/07/2020 08:55

Hi everyone hope you don't mind if I join.

I'm 31. Started TTC after our honeymoon last October. Found out I was pregnant in January but had a miscarriage at 9 weeks at the end of Feb. Awful, awful time BUT got through it and feeling much more 'normal' now.

I'm now using Natural Cycles and it's reporting today as Peak Fertility! This is only my first month with the app so we shall see.

I got pregnant so quickly first time but it's taking longer this time for some reason.

MintGreenLife · 06/07/2020 10:00

Morning, hope everyone had a lovely weekend :)

Now CD20 for me with no EWCM or positive OPK. I'm sure it's just my body adjusting to coming off the pill, but having stopped it in April and making a lot of changes this month to try and help things along I'm feeling quite deflated. Hoping some signs or something start happening this week!

MrsMacG10 · 06/07/2020 18:43

Hey ladies, how are you all? AF has arrived for me and my temps dont seem to be as normal as usual, could be as I've not slept great at all last few night so now my app says I havent ovulated even though I got a positive smiley on the clear blue ovulation test and signs of ovulation. Hoping my apps just wrong as hasn't happen before, typical on first month TTC 🙈 xxx

@mrsmacg10 sorry to hear that.
I'm due af on thurs. 1st cycle here also. Totally expecting her to show her face

ZonesAndBones · 07/07/2020 20:27

@L4uz thanks for the reply..thats good news. When I found out that IF I got pregnant I couldn't have brie or goats cheese..well that would have been bad enough. But to take my baths too!

@timswifey sorry about the miscarriage, all the best this time around. Our cycles are maybe similar as this is about my peak too.

@MintGreenLife fingers crossed for your peak soon. CD20 is some wait!

@MrsMacG10 sorry af turned up this time, fingers crossed for the next cycle.

@2alreadywantanother good luck..hope AF doesnt show!

L4uz · 07/07/2020 20:52

@ZonesAndBones argh don't get me started on cheese! Grin I absolutely love the stuff! I'm not a massive fan of Brie but I love goats cheese and I'm really missing primula and cheese triangles Sad
I'm thankful I haven't gone off it though!

MrsMacG10 · 27/07/2020 13:07

Hi ladies, hows everyone getting on? Sorry I've been quiet just been busy with family and work. I'm in my TWW at the moment 7dpo, i tested today and BFN although I know its too early. Any advice on how to not obsess with testing? I'm gonna end up spending a fortune on tests 🤣 I've had some twinges and cramps the last few day so hoping that was implantation. Going to try and wait till Wednesday to test again. Hope you're all doing well 😁 xxx

MintGreenLife · 27/07/2020 13:47

@MrsMacG10 hey ☺️ it's been a while! Hope you're keeping well? I'm currently on CD41 (🤦🏻‍♀️) and not even sure if I've ovulated yet. My apps are saying from my BBT that I'm 5DPO but I had a temp drop today so not sure what that's all about, really hoping it goes back up again tomorrow! I'm starting to think since stopping the pill I haven't been ovulating, so I was really hoping that I had finally ovulated, although now feeling uncertain after this morns temp.

Like you say 7DPO is super early to test. I think because throughout my cycles so far I've not even been sure if I've ovulated I haven't felt the need to test as know I'm most likely not pregnant. Maybe buy some cheap sticks if you think you'll want to test lots, and try to only do it every other day? Xx

Flowersandfireworks · 27/07/2020 14:31

Hello again Smile I’m in my TWW too and have some tests lurking in my amazon basket trying to hold off pressing ‘buy’ until it’s time!

I’m using natural cycles and it thinks I’m 4dpo which is obviously way too early for any testing! It’s also predicting a shorter cycle this time round (29 days rather than 36 last month) but as I’m only 2 months off the pill I don’t think they’ll be regular yet. Basically not sure me and my body have worked each other out yet!

Fingers crossed for you for Wednesday @MrsMacG10 🤞No advice other than maybe try to stay busy!

CD41 is a long one @MintGreenLife! I have the odd day when my temperature does something weird. Plus it doesn’t always tie in with EWCM and the ovulation sticks, although they all happen over the same few days so I assume something’s going on in there mid-month! Have you had any other signs of ovulation? Hopefully your temperature picks up and the overall trend shows positive signs

@ZonesAndBones I’m also a bath-lover and hadn’t even considered I shouldn’t be having them while ttc Shock

MintGreenLife · 27/07/2020 14:43

@Flowersandfireworks things kind of tied up - I had the most EWCM I have ever had two days before my temp spiked, and an almost positive OPK. On my Fertility Friend app my temp shift is quite obvious, but then I've just got this random low temp today, although looking into it a temp dip at 5dpo is quite common and due to a secondary oestrogen surge. Keeping my fingers crossed it goes back up again tomorrow! I have had more EWCM though since I thought I ovulated, and during this very long cycle I've had it about 4/5 times for a few days at a time and then nothing again. All very confusing and frustrating!

MrsMacG10 · 27/07/2020 14:45

Thanks ladies.
The TWW is rubbish but yeah I think as the months pass I'll be a bit less likely to want to test earlier. Think I'm just excited as I'm only a few months in. Also First month I've had an implantation symptoms. I'm due AF on Sunday so will know soon enough.

I've been using the clear blue ovulation test and do also get ovulation pains and symptoms. Have you had any at all? I also use natural cycles and measure my temp.

Work will hopefully keep me busy and I'm gonna buy some cheap tests too.

Fingers crossed for you all too xxx

Flowersandfireworks · 27/07/2020 15:05

@MintGreenLife I would have thought all that together sounds positive! My friend said she conceived hers after not getting a smiley face on an OPK at all one month. The lovely bouncy 6 month old DS she has would suggest she did definitely ovulate though! Grin

I definitely had some twinges this time round. Sort of like mini cramps but higher up on one side. That was the day of my first positive clear blue test but two days before my app thinks I ovulated though. Maybe it’s just all in my head!

MintGreenLife · 27/07/2020 16:22

@Flowersandfireworks well you never know :) really hoping my temp goes back up tomorrow, but trying to not put too much emphasis on every tiny little thing as going to make myself crazy ha.

That sounds positive - I can't say I've ever felt like I feel ovulation, this is going back from years ago before I was on the pill and then since I've come off (although not 100% sure I have ovulated since) but can't say I recall ever thinking I could feel it. I'd definitely go off your own symptoms and the CB rather than your app :) x

ZonesAndBones · 27/07/2020 22:16

Hi again everyone :)

That was our first try...and was entirely unsuccessful lol. So on to attempt number 2.

AF finishing today so will be back to tracking ovulation this week.

Feeling a bit like a marshmallow at the moment so will have to gee myself up for BD'ing.

NamechangeTTC · 28/07/2020 07:41

Hello, hope I can join!

I’m 32 (newly!) and we started trying in feb/March. Stopped due to covid19 and work (high high risk) but now keen again as I’m hearing the clock ticking daily.

Last month had an extreme cycle (14 days late) so not sure when I’ll ovulate this month. Have OPK to start in a few days, predicted ovulation is the 8th of August. Period only just ended so haven’t started them yet.

Good luck!

Meg87 · 28/07/2020 10:12

Hi everyone, can I join too? 😃

I'm 33 and TTC baby number one. It's still very early days for us, I'm on CD9 of cycle #1. I ordered some OPKs from Amazon yesterday which should be arriving today, and I'm excited about using them! I'd have no idea otherwise when I'm due to ovulate as my cycles have been a bit unpredictable lately.

My fingers are crossed for everyone here, especially for those in the dreaded 2ww! I know I'm going to be a nightmare when the time comes. Looking forward to seeing some positives 😁

Hi @QwertyBert 👋 which vitamins are you taking? I'm on folic acid, vitamin D and a vitamin B complex, wondering if I'm missing anything I should consider taking. I think I'm going to allow myself the odd glass of wine before ovulation, but stay off it if there's any chance that I'm pregnant.

Whereabouts are you in your cycle?

ShellMc2237 · 28/07/2020 13:11

Hi everyone :)

I'm 32 and came off the pill in December last year. Cycles were regular 28 days to start with but then last month was 2 days early and 5 days late! I have been taking multivitamins and cod liver oil tablets.
No OPKs or anything for me, just the tracker. Last month I thought I had a faint positive but then it disappeard the day after. 1dpo now and on the 2ww so good luck to everyone on here!

MrsMacG10 · 28/07/2020 17:42

Hi everyone ☺ welcome to those who have joined too. Im on cycle 2 in TWW and due AF Sunday. So far BFNs but probs a bit early to confirm yet.
I take the seven seas vitamins. I bought the pregnacare ones but seen someone they can mess up your cycle so haven't taken them.
I use the clear blue ovulation tests and so far have got a static smiley both months.
There's so many of our friends having babies just now, hope that will be us all soon ❤

Suki2020 · 28/07/2020 19:20

Hi everyone

I’m 33 TTC our 1st baby, my partner is 34 and we’ve been together 7yrs. We’ve been TTC for 12months. I’ve had irregular cycles so starting taking Angus Castus which has helped a lot and now having a cycle of about 36days. I’ve been temping and doing OPKs since Jan. I’m currently 2DPO now.

Meg87 · 28/07/2020 19:33

Best of luck with getting your BFPs @ShellMc2237 and @MrsMacG10 😁🤞
My cycle has been a bit iffy too @ShellMc2237. I always thought it was a pretty regular 28 day one, but 6 months ago it was 26 days long, and last two months it's been 34 days and 35 days... Makes it tricky to figure out the best time to start doing OPKs! Think I will start tomorrow when I will be on CD10, as that's when they recommend you start for a 26 day cycle, and I don't want to miss my peak if this cycle is a weirdly short one again.

Meg87 · 28/07/2020 19:36

Hi @Suki2020, sorry to hear you've been having trouble with your cycle. How irregular were they? Sounds like you've got it sorted out now though 👍 do you find the OPKs work well for you?

Suki2020 · 29/07/2020 08:02

Hi @Meg87 I’ve had cycles that were around 90days when I first came off the pill over 2yrs ago I went ages without a withdrawal bleed. This cycle should be about 35days as I’m 3DPO now. Yeah I find doing OPK’s and temping together work really well for me as my cycles were so irregular. I always start doing OPKs from day 11. How long have you been ttc?
