This is more of a cry for needing someone to talk to post 😭

My partner and I have been trying since last year to conceive well last October.

I have irregular periods so never actually know when I am ovulating.

We have sex at least 3 times a week.

I feel like everyone is getting pregnant but us 😭😭😭😭

We are trying to keep it a secret to so no one knows so difficult not having anyone to talk too.

My doc said they won't do any tests on me until 1 year from coming off the pill. 😢

I really feel for you - don't lose hope. Your BFP could be just around the corner. Flowers

Have you considered doing/are you doing any tracking of your ovulation?

In your situation, I think I'd probably buy a boatload of OPKs and a BBT thermometer and start tracking my cycles that way using the Fertility Friend App. If you were to do both of those things it should give you a really good idea of if/when you're ovulating. I'd also aim for doing the deed every other day if possible, although 3 times a week should be plenty.

If you do decide to track your cycles and if you get as far as seeing the doctor it would mean you were in a great place to talk to them about your cycle lengths, whether you are/aren't ovulating etc.

I feel for you! My partner and I have been TTC since last May. Was due to be referred for tests but the current situation put a stop to that's. I know I'm ovulating every month as I've been tested for that, and my husband has had his sperm tested and everything is fine. So why the heck is it taking so long!
Basically, I feel ya and it's shit Sad

RileyF12 · 27/04/2020 19:51

Thankyou so much for commenting, it just gets me so down! We are using conceive plus too,

I have bought ovulation strips so may try that xxx

I have been there and it totally sucks. Fewer people fall pregnant within 6 months than in the 6-12, it is frustrating and annoying! I temped and used cheapie opks when ttc. It helped me to confirm ovulation which was useful to me.

flissity · 27/04/2020 19:59

Just so you don’t spend a fortune, the cheap ovulation sticks worked fine for me and didn’t cost £££ from Amazon.
I really hope you don’t have too long to wait. I know it can come a bit obsessive when you really want a baby. I used to want to Just KNOW when it would happen, it’s the waiting and not knowing that is the worst x

Scubalubs87 · 27/04/2020 20:04

I fell pregnant after 13 months of trying. I really really started to despair for the last 7 months or so of that and mentally really struggled. The month we fell we’d put trying on hold and had barely any sex - except for a drunken night after a wedding.
I’m now pregnant with my second and fell in the first month which threw me completely as I’d mentally prepared to be in it for the long haul again.
Sometime there’s no rhyme or reason as to why it’s not happening. Try to look after yourself mentally and hopefully it will happen.

RileyF12 · 27/04/2020 20:52

Thankyou so much everyone ♥️

When would you say is the best time to do the ovulation sticks every morning or night? Xxx

I did one in the morning and one in the evening while TTC. You can miss your hormone surge if you only test once a day. Good luck!

Nat4392 · 27/04/2020 22:45

I’m with you.

I’ve also been trying since October to no avail. I feel so deflated about the whole thing. I get so upset every time AF arrives. Doing OPKs, conception tablets, conceive plus/pre-seed, soft cup and DTD when we should be, you name it.
It really makes me think something is wrong but then I know it can take time. Everyone around me is either getting pregnant or just had babies and it’s driving me insane!

RileyF12 · 27/04/2020 22:51

Aww @Nat4392 hopefully it's our turn soon 😢♥️

Don't feel disheartened OP, it took me 11 months first time with regular cycles, I unfortunately miscarried at 10 weeks but then fell pregnant again 4 months later, he's 3 months old now. I found natural cycles really helped which I only used second time round, it's all about taking your temperature every morning to pin point when your ovulating. Sending luck to you.

BrooHaHa · 27/04/2020 23:00

I second every other day minimum. And there's a fertility lube apparently, which I've heard good things about. Also, get your partner using male pre conception vitamins too if he's not already. And make sure he doesn't wear tight jeans or underwear and doesn't hold his laptop on his crotch or have long hot baths. Also, consider laying off the perfume, if you use it.

Chanel05 · 27/04/2020 23:02

I used to do ovulation sticks morning and night when I knew I was about a week from ovulating and in the days just before I'd do them 3-4 times a day.

Moongirl10 · 27/04/2020 23:11

We tried for 8 months. I was using an app to track ovulation. Then I bought some ovulation strips and realised the app was completely wrong. I ended up getting pregnant the first month we used the ovulation strips.

jennylouisaa · 28/04/2020 10:54

I feel like everyone is so different. A lot of people have mentioned fertility lube, ovulation strips, timing dtd. I've tried all of this. BD every day, BD every other day, BD twice a day! Nothing has worked so far, but for other people it might have.

I know 7 months feels like a long time (believe me, I'm on cycle 12), but until you've been trying a year, try not to worry! Everyone is different, and maybe it's taking longer for you because your body's brewing up a really cute baba! That's what me and my husband tell ourselves anyway Grin

RileyF12 · 29/04/2020 10:16

Thanks everyone! It's so nice to read that I'm not the only one, it's it's just good to having people replying and reaching out so Thankyou!

Believe it or night the last couple of nights I have been getting up during the night peeing so much it's like a sudden urge. I have to run to my bathroom lol.

Yesterday I had the strangest feeling and sorry to sound like a complete weirdo my nipples were so itchy lol

Last night I woke up in the middle of the night and my right boob was sore never had that in my life.

I'm praying so much, although it's probably nothing and probably just a badly fitted bra lolll

It took my partner and I 11 months to conceive, however I am currently 9 months pregnant and due in less than 3 weeks. I felt exactly like you, with friends all around me who had only been trying a couple of months, were all getting pregnant.

I was doing ovulation tests regularly, used the fertility lube, taking vitamins etc, everything that was recommended.

Someone suggested to buy a clear blue digital ovulation kit. I picked it up 2nd hand on ebay for £35ish. The tests aren't cheap to go with them, but I fell pregnant on the first month of using it, so very much worth it. As its more accurate than normal ovulation tests, I discovered I was actually ovulating a few days earlier than the other tests were picking up, so I think I was just missing ovulation each month. It could be worth you trying it if you don't have regular periods so are unsure of when you ovulate. Anything is worth a try! Good luck!

RileyF12 · 30/04/2020 17:48

Okay this is driving me nuts the more I stare at I the more I feel I can see the faintest of lines! Like the tiniest line ever. Or maybe I'm just thinking I can see one?

Yesterday I had thee worst headache ever, I've been off food. During the night I'm peeing like 4/5 times.
Been waking up with sore boobs and sleeping for Scotland !!!

Thought I'd take a test on the amazon strips I bought I think I'm maybe just over thinking...

Why am I not pregnant yet :( TTC

Sorry, OP. Can't see anything. Might just be too early though.

Naera95 · 01/05/2020 01:33

Hey ladies. I am also feeling the exact same as all of you. Me and hubby are both 24 and we are now on to cycle 10. We never thought it would take this long and these past couple of months once I get my period I have a massive break down and cry for pretty much the first day of my cycle. I am current on CD5 and hoping this is our month. We are doing the same thing taking multi vitamins using ovulation strips and have the Ovia app. But everyone else around us is getting pregnant it’s so disheartening

HarryHarry · 01/05/2020 02:17

We tried for I think 9 months. In the last month, when I was nearly ready to give up, and I was sure there must be something wrong with one or both of us, we decided to really go for it. We followed the Sperm Meets Egg Plan (I think that’s what it’s called) and it worked!

You should also consider a blood test to check your thyroid. I did and they found that while my levels were normal, they were higher than the ideal for pregnancy. I started taking Synthroid to bring it down under 1 or 2 (can’t quite remember the exact number), which may have also contributed to our success.

Don’t give up hope! Good luck!

Positevibes · 01/05/2020 12:14

Does anyone use OPKs I'm so confused I have a line which isn't as dark as the control line so not positive even though my app says I'm ovulating today but does the line mean I have ovulated and it's getting weaker or I haven't yet and it's going to get stronger they are so confusing 🙄
