At the risk of jinxing myself by starting this thread I'm hoping it's actually quite therapeutic to let go of September. The next few weeks are all about bd'ing and for those in the same boat, we can start looking forward to an October full of BFPs.

After a 41 day cycle I'm back to CD1, anyone else care to join me?

piggley - so whats the opposite if you want a boy then? (SK ponders to herself ) purely for scientific reasons, is there a website you got this from?, I've had a look at a few and they always want you to pay for supplements. I know we are supposed to have sex at the time of ovulation but it's not always easy to know so I suppose it's every 2 days and roll the dice and see what we get.
I suppose a boy would be nice more for DP than myself to even things up a bit but I look at DD2 and think how could I ever be disappointed with another one of those?

Har - hello cycle buddy this is only my second time ever using opks, used them when ttc DD1 as I was getting a bit annoyed it was taking so long, the other two pregnancies have been first month of ttc. It's nice to know that you do actually ovulate though, I will be well excited when I get my smiley face.

penny - lol at your poor DH and you are just married and still in the honeymoon period. I've been up since 6 this morning and after running about after 2 toddlers all day the only thing I'm up for at night is a nice cup of tea and a lie down. Must find some energy from some where for next week.

PennyBenjamin · 12/09/2007 11:10

Well, the period in the run up to our wedding was pretty stressful, and not very much BDing, so I think my DH probably can't believe his luck that he's gone from famine to feast!

On the CB, I have a shortish cycle (27 days), and after no luck with BDing around day 14, I wondered whether I might actually be OVing earlier. Hence really going for it this month!

Sending out good vibes to all for a lucky month x

Lockets I agree but when you have the most stubborn man in the planet as you DH im expecting a run of 3 or 4 nights going to bed on bad terms. I have tried with him today with no response, he made me coffee but we have yet to utter a word oh happy house holds!!

Hope everyone is fine today, its such a horrid wet day

SW you are meant to try and get bang on ov day for a boy, my DS was DC14 and my DD was CD11 not planned that way I just happen to know as DH works away alot so those could have been the only dates.

sweetkitty · 12/09/2007 12:13

I know josey but you never really know when ov is and I don't want to not BD until when I think it is to knock my chances way off, it's not an exact science anyway. I'm not that bothered TBH.

josey · 12/09/2007 12:39

Your so right SW its impossible to tell for sure, I think it also depends on your DPs little swimmers as some have a 50/50 mix some have all female and some have all male, so unless you know the answer to that also its pot luck and a baby is a baby no matter what the flavour

digitalgirl · 12/09/2007 12:45

I'd quite like a little girl...I have two younger half brothers (7yo and 3yo) and they are soooo much hard work , it's probably more to do with their turbulent upbringing - but, phew, a day with them is enough to make me question my abilities to be a good mum.

tbh I don't mind what we get, as long as we get!

as i nanny i sometimes come home and wonder..why on earth do i want to do this at work then come home to exactly the same at night???!!

but does not really stop me wanting one!!
hope everyones day is ok
x

TheMuppetMuggle · 12/09/2007 14:28

Har27 I asked DP is he was alright after and what brought it on and said felt hot, but didn't feel sick beforehand just came on all of a sudden - maybe he's getting them as a sign to come for me

SK - next is so good for things like that, also good for baby/toddler clothes

I want a boy next time round to even it out!! although wouldn't mind another girl.

I keep seeing PG women or newborns and i WANT one
I met DP for lunch today and very unlike him but he wanted to BD in the hr we had off but only told me at the end of his lunch

josey · 12/09/2007 14:33

DG my DS was much easier than my DD, she has just turned 2 and is such a Diva, DS was, still is very laid back, though she is much better at following instructions than DS who at 7 has cloth ears when it comes to "get ready for school" ie brush teeth wash face blah blah his play is much rougher and more demanding than tea parties and shopping or hugging the baby I much prefer that to wrestling, bugs and football.

Im kind of hoping we will have another boy as DS isnt actually Dh's though you would never know and I think in teenage years the though of my DH with 2 girls to deal with stresses me a bit

Hey I've got a cycle buddy.

Hi puddingchef

pigleychez · 12/09/2007 18:44

Can I join you in the october thread now...

Unfortunately sept wasnt our month!
Now on CD2.

Suppose I was silly to hope that it would happen straight away on our first cycle of ever trying!

Just been looking at online ovulation calculators and if we manage a BFP in October, then the estimated due date would be 16th June 2008..... Our First wedding anniversary!

So its all out now for October! No rest at all for DH!

Thepuddingchef · 12/09/2007 19:04

hello fellow cycle buddy......Libralady

No need to ask what you've been up to the last few days

My dh knows when it's a good time to bd...as the matching undies get an airing!
Although he let me down last night....

had a nose on your profile....you live in Dorset....I love dorset, we're going down to see friends at the weekend. They live in Stalbridge.

Piggley · 12/09/2007 19:53

Good evening all

sweetkitty for a boy they suggest you increase your pottassium and sodium levels. Dairy products are a big no and all meat gets a thumbs up!! They (books) suggest that you have an orgasm (kind of them!!) either during or straight after sex as whizzes boy sperm up to egg. Whereas girl sperm lives longer so can head up there at her own pace!

When I conceived my two boys i started trying ten days after the first day of my period and didn't need to try again!.

Good luck to us all. P x

kirstygem · 12/09/2007 20:09

Evening ladies
Pixie if you peeing on a stick I feel have to as well so got 3 mins to kill while stick does its thing. DH away til Fri so really hoping not to ov til the weekend.
Feeling inspired by all talk of pampering and preening so am getting leg and bikini wax tomorrow in preparation for BDing over weekend.
Laughing to myslef about al the newlyweds TTC #1. I remember what we were like TTC DD1 just after we got married. It was twice a day everyday and it only took us 1 month. Could be much longer this time round as drop in BDing rate as been married 2 years and have DD 15months
Off to check my stick now

kirstygem · 12/09/2007 20:24

Not ovulating so quite chuffed. Must stop scoffing chocolate as if am already pregnant though. Was going to go on bit of a diet after summer hols but now just keep well I be getting pregnant so not much point thinking about my weight now

sweetkitty · 12/09/2007 20:34

piggley - maybe thats why I keep having girls then I'm a vegetarian so no meat and I love cheese

josey - I know what you mean re: teenage DDs I think DP is already having a heart attack, maybe thats why he wants a boy next.

pigleychez - sorry for AF arriving I know what you mean you make the big ttc decision then you get all excited and it doesn't happen first month, if you are just off the pill it might take a couple of cycles to get your body back into synch. I'm going to get you and piggley confused.

Tigger13 · 12/09/2007 20:41

Hi Piggley!!

nice to have someone else that giving it all these theories a go!, My boys are lush and would be strange not being able to refer to my DC's as my boys but deep down a girl would be nice and even though all of DH's friends jealous as we have boys and they girls I know he would like one to. Howver at the end of the day I am happy just to have a third.

I have looked at diet and am a veggie and don't drink caffiene anyway so sort of there. Girls tend to be concieved when sperm count low and boys when high, (according to books) my DS1 was a lovely suprise but think on CD13 ov time and DS2 was planned and using OV sticks so definitely bang on ov day

pigleychez · 12/09/2007 20:47

Sweetkitty- Horrible isnt it! Makes me more determined this month though!

Never been on the pill... sounds silly but I have really trouble swallowing anything since I swallowed a 20p as a kid.

Ive heard that it can take a while once you come off the pill but 2 of my friends both got pregnant their first month off the pill! Lucky things!!

I can understand how you might get me and Piggley confused! Just call me Chez!

TwilightSurfer · 12/09/2007 21:00

Evening. My CDs are flying by faster than I expected. I realized this when I logged into MN and I didn't have any "threads I'm on" because I've not posted in 3 days. Sorry all. Will promise to spend evening catching up on all I've missed.

CD11. Almost time to get BUSY!!

josey · 12/09/2007 21:16

Evening
Twighlight nice to see someone on the same CD as there seem to be quite a few buddies.

SW DH is already sizing baseball bats for seeing off unwanted visitors - though he is already planning conquests for DS funny how I will stick up for DD and get all protective over DS. We havent long moved to our house and DH and our neighbour have DS and there little girl matched

Well have made friends with DH, and Im hoping that Scotland get a win in the football then we can get some serious making up done, think im ov-ing early, have a grumpy tummy and had some serious EWCM a little while ago, maybe its the start of an egg harvest
