At the risk of jinxing myself by starting this thread I'm hoping it's actually quite therapeutic to let go of September. The next few weeks are all about bd'ing and for those in the same boat, we can start looking forward to an October full of BFPs.

After a 41 day cycle I'm back to CD1, anyone else care to join me?

Don't worry TS

Hi everyone,

Hope your all well.

Just had a call from my sister (23) to say she's pregnant! Totally shocked as she was on the pill and not at all trying to get pregnant!

Really pleased for her but cant help but feel sad too. Ive spent the past couple of hours in tears.

Sounds silly I know but i think how come she can get pregnant without even trying where as I am constantly trying- Either im doing something wrong or theres something wrong with me!

What makes it worse is that I know none of my friends will understand me as they all either fell in the first month or were unplanned.

Plus - this sounds really petty and selfish but its kinda stollen my thunder! I wanted to have the first grandchild.
As none of our family know we are trying, they will think we are jumping on the bandwagon when if i fall. Silly i know!

Sorry to moan

sweetkitty · 25/09/2007 22:11

Aww pigley I really feel for you I think your emotions are totally natural, I know at least 3 friends that are ttc now all first babies and I want to be pregnant before them which is insane as I already have two. When I was ttc #1 I had a chemical pregnancy when I thought I was pregnant then the woman who sat across the desk from me at work got pregnant and she was one of those "first women ever to get pregnant types" and I had to hear all about it whilst no one knew we were ttc. Hopefully you'll be pregnant yourself soon that kind of eases the blow so to speak. hugs to you xxx

hiya squonk welcome to our thread

muppet - I really hope so x

TwilightSurfer · 25/09/2007 23:09

Pigleychez I've been on both sides. When I fell pregnant with DD I, on a whim, decided to stop taking the pill. My two best friends had been trying for a year and a half when I got the BFP. I didn't know what to say. I felt really bad but totally excited at the same time. Once I fell they fell soon after. Now it's the total opposite...with the same two best friends.

As for the stealing thunder.... my SIL who has five DC by THREE different men announced she was pregnant with #5 one month after I announced my #1. I was LIVID!! I absolutely wanted all the attention. Then to top that my other SIL who gave birth 6 month before me named her DD#3 after my deceased mother. That about threw me over the edge. Three and a half years later.....I could care less about any of that.

Don't let it get you down. You'll fall soon and everyone will just think you and your sister drank from the same fertile spring or something.

TwilightSurfer · 25/09/2007 23:11

Here's hoping we're all drinking from the same fertile spring. Here! Here! "GULP"

TwilightSurfer · 25/09/2007 23:12

Sweet Baby Dreams

debinaustria · 26/09/2007 06:20

I've brought my own bottle to have a drink from that fertile spring Twilight!!

Pigley , Oh I do feel for you, maybe now would be a good time to just tell your sister that you're ttc, then she won't go on about the pg too much and she'll encourage you though this?

On the positive side , hopefully you'll conceive v soon and the cousins will grow up as friends .

Deb

fryalot · 26/09/2007 08:15

thank you

pigley - don't worry about feeling like that - tis perfectly natural. And you never know, it might be you as well soon and you can be pg together, that would be nice

Excitable · 26/09/2007 09:17

Oh poor Chez - I really feel your pain! I can't help turning ttc into a race whatever I do - I wonder if this is hormonal. I don't have anybody to race and (as far as I know!) no-one else is ttc except all of you lovely ladies that I don't know(!) and I'm still managing to turn it into a race.

I have a book, a fairly short book of about 200 pages, split into really short chapters of about a page each. I'm reading a chapter every day and I've told myself that by the time I get to the end of the book I'll have a BFP. I know this is crazy and it's not something that I can set a goal for, and I know I'll be devestated if I get to the end of the book and there's no BFP.

I'm even CHEATING and not reading a chapter some days - how crazy am I? At least your concern is about a real person!

Having cousins so near you in age is great and your two DCs will probably be inseparable in your parents minds at least. Are you close to your sister? Will you be able to share stories of heartburn in the middle of the night and puffy ankles (why are we doing this to ourselves again? - it doesn't make much sense when I say it like that!)

digitalgirl · 26/09/2007 09:26

Morning, I think I accidentally moved forward an extra day. Think this is right....(btw, still waiting for that egg)

Chez I know the feeling although not with sisters, but friends everyone seems to be falling but me although am CD21 out of 25 an no AF symptoms yet!!

My DD is doing my head in this morning i really think she woke up with the devil in her.

Bucky2007 · 26/09/2007 09:50

Updating that list is a full time job now it's so massive . Well done Deb!

TheMuppetMuggle · 26/09/2007 10:00

Agree Bucky to much to think about to early in the morning

PennyBenjamin · 26/09/2007 10:37

Morning all,

Thanks Deb - yes it's right, I am CD23 today.

Laughing at Excitable and her racing - I am the same, DH goes mad but it's just the way I'm built. I have a friend who is incredibly competitive (for example, she quizzed me in detail about my engagement ring, and then got one just a little bigger when she got engaged). She's getting married in a month, and I'm terrified that she will get pregnancy before me. Stupid, I know, but there it is.

I also had a top three names for a baby, and in the last year two sisters in law and a good friend have all had babies and used all three names! I was gutted, but DH couldn't see what the problem was.

FoghornLeghorn · 26/09/2007 11:04

Hi everyone - we are waiting for broadband to be installed so am at my mums to get my MN fix before taking DD1 to pre-school.
When DH and I spoke the other we decided to start trying November time so baby would be here next Aug/Sept but it took us 11 months of ttc with DD1 then no trying at all with DD2, we'd rather just start now

debinaustria · 26/09/2007 11:12

Know what you mean foghorn about getting mn fix - I couldn't wait any longer for dh to get off the computer, so had to dust off the laptop.

I don't mind updating the list - gives me something to do whilst I wait for you all to get up and get online - we're an hour ahead of you here.

Surely we must be getting a bfp soon?????

Deb

loveverona · 26/09/2007 11:20

Well good morning all. Haven't posted for a while as I haven't had much to tell, until now. Yesterday got a BFP!!!!!

Am still in shock and it's very early days, but it's a definitely double line on the test. So pleased, a little apprehensive about the coming weeks, but hey, just got to get on with life and ENJOY!!!

Any other news girls???

debinaustria · 26/09/2007 11:24

Loveverona HUGE CONGRATULATIONS, you've made my day, I'm so pleased for you.

Let's hope you're a good omen for everyone else this month - 1st cycle too eh? You fertile goddess!!!

Deb

FoghornLeghorn · 26/09/2007 11:27

Congratulations

07mumstheword · 26/09/2007 11:29

Hello can I join you? I obsessed again! I'm CD24 had MC 9/7 and TTC DC2. We've been trying since May and was amazed I fell pg so quickly but then had early MC in July. Last month was obsessed, Convinved myself I was PG again and gobsmacked when AF arrived! So this month I tought I wont think about it, Yeah Right!! AF due in 5 days and trying to hold on til at least tomorrow before doing CBD test! Mix of not wanting disappointment of BFN and desperate to see a BFP!

One of my close friends fell PG same time as me back in May/Jun would have been due similar time. She's starting to show now and I'm really pleased for her but just a reminder of what I lost. Then another friend told us Friday she is 6 wks PG. Again pleased for them but just want to join her!!

I'm off to Pre-school now to collect DD 2 1/2yrs so will catch up again later. Feel better already getting that off my chest. .
