Bring on the October BFP's

At the risk of jinxing myself by starting this thread I'm hoping it's actually quite therapeutic to let go of September. The next few weeks are all about bd'ing and for those in the same boat, we can start looking forward to an October full of BFPs.

After a 41 day cycle I'm back to CD1, anyone else care to join me?

har - I know ti's just really difficult when you make that big decision to come off the pill you think you will getr pregnant straight away as it's all so exciting then you don't and it devastates you every month, I started blaming DP saying there must be something wrong with him not that he has ever let me forget it. You get so obsessed I couldn't even pass Mothercare without tears coming to my eyes but it will happen I'm sure and until then you can some on here an obsess with the rest of us and EWCM

Har27 · 21/09/2007 09:50

Oh poor dp! I'm already on dh's case banning baths and late night whiskys. Not ready for him to move into baggy boxers though !
But you're absolutely right about coming off the pill and the obsession. I really had felt like waiting another year before coming off as we only got married in May but dh has been wanting us to start for ages and then suddenly I thought why not? What am I waiting for? I knew I wanted children, I knew I wanted them with him so why not start trying? And I really thought I'd be cool about it as I knew it could take months but having made the decision to start ttc it suddenly became all I could think about and while I didn't really expect a BFP last month I have just been hoping so much this time. Oh it's horrible. So nice though that everyone understands here. Dh is convinced it should happen straightaway (we are surrounded by people who got pregnant first cycle and whenever I say it could take longer he smiles and says 'not for us!' Grrrr) so no point talking to him. Lovely to have MN. Anyway feel better now, thank you very much, will enjoy the ewcm wait instead .

HI Ladies

I so hope i get PG this month - would be good to have some exciting news.
So will get a good few more BDing sessions in at the weekend and next week

How is everyone else??

Har27 · 21/09/2007 12:11

Oh fairy

MissusH · 21/09/2007 12:26

Good afternoon folks...

All good here. AF had fled for another month (hopefully for longer than that ) and dh was feeling very frisky this morning...unfortunately the timing was duff as I had to get up for the school run. Maybe later, eh?

Bucky2007 · 21/09/2007 13:16

Deb I am hanging in there. Might test tomorrow if I feel brave.

calebsmum · 21/09/2007 13:22

Congrats on being ovulicious SK hope you catch the egg! My fan*y is like the sahara desert at the moment am hoping for ewcm soon even if it means I have to do the bd. Anyone else not a big fan of constant bd'ing or is it just me??

fairysnuff · 21/09/2007 15:45

No, you are not alone, I am not one for constant bding either. DH works to hard and DD works me too hard!!

What exactly does EWCM stand for??

Bucky2007 · 21/09/2007 15:52

Egg White Cervical Mucus

sweetkitty · 21/09/2007 15:56

Thanks calebsmum I have only been anxious about ovulating as I had the mc last month and am desperate to know I'm back in business.

Muppet - I'm with you I sooooooooooooooo want to be pregnant this month, it means hopefully the ms will be going just before Santa arrives so I can scoff my Christmas dinner happily and a June baby would be good as DD1's a July baby so would like to get sorted before she has her birthday, right enough I thought I was so smart planning for and getting my March baby but mother nature had other ideas, don't care when it's born just that it's born.

I'm quite enjoying the constant BDing although we only do it every 2 days couldn't face every day. Even DP is moaning about it thats because he's in serious marathon training.

digitalgirl · 21/09/2007 15:59

lol re: sahara fanois calebsmum!
I think DH is a bit knackered but I rather enjoy all the constant bd'ing . except during the desert season...which is usually towards the end. although we are ttc for our first, so it's probably easier when you don't have any other kids to schedule around.

OP posts:
TheMuppetMuggle · 21/09/2007 17:34

SK I Have a March baby so a June baby would be great
and agree will be very good excuse to eat more xmas dinner lol

pigleychez · 21/09/2007 18:39

I too would love a June baby. Next June will be our 1st Wedding Anniversary (16th) So would absolurtly love it to be born around that date.

Really trying not to make too much of a thing of it cause if it doesnt happen this month then im setting myself up for a large fall!

Had a hectic day today as we have been doing the garden. Today we shifted 4 tons of soil off the drive before laying turf for our new lawn... Hard work but worth it as it looks fab!!
Both DH and I are knackered and not quite sure how we will manage to BD tonight!

Meglet · 21/09/2007 19:54

I've decided that I don't think I'll get a BFP this month. Our BD-ing tailed off this week due to DPs shift work and my cystitis. Slight chance we may have got there in time but I'm not optimistic.

TwilightSurfer · 21/09/2007 20:59

Good afternoon, everyone.
I've been doing some light reading on the web and thought I'd share these new snipits of information.

Enjoy

EWCM Facts from the Web

  1. EWCM occurs BEFORE you ovulate.
  2. Women in their 20's tend to have EWCM for 5 days. Women in their 30's tend to have EWCM for only 1 to 2 days.
  3. It can be stretchy OR watery.
  4. Once you ovulate the fluid dries up (decreasing BFP chances).
  5. You are fertile from the first moment you see (feel) EWCM.
  6. No EWCM doesn't mean you didn't ovulate. But it's absence decreases your chances of BFP.

Info obtained from:
medicinet.com
amazingpregnancy.com
babysnark.com

So I guess this means:
The slipper the slide the easier the little swimmers have it. BDing earlier in the cycle is better than later. When the sahara season begins turn over and go to sleep. And finally, the younger you are the more time you can play...and be productive.

TwilightSurfer · 21/09/2007 21:01

Oh well I guess it's a bit past afternoon now isn't it. I've been reading for a while. Sorry.

dressedupnowheretogo · 21/09/2007 21:03

hi ya all

im kinda leaving mine to chance and enjoying the bding as since i came off the pill i hve had 3 periods in 6 weeks so who knows???

keep positive

Thepuddingchef · 21/09/2007 21:28

Evening everyone,
interesting ewcm facts twilightsurfer....haven't really been checking much this month. My monitor said that i'm no longer fertile, so the wait is on for me....could do with a rest from all this bding....the ironing pile is getting neglected
looneytune - how was your tarot reading?
suppose the ironing is calling to me - domestic goddess alert.....have a good weekend all.

moodymoo · 21/09/2007 21:50

Har, finally got my af this morning so had a cycle of 33 days and OV'd day 18. Am sure that you will get a smiley face any day now -you are probably like me ov'ing later - just keep going with it. I know that you wil worry about it - went through the same myself. Think I already told you that I backed up my monitor with opks and bbt just to check that I was definatly ov'ing. Think you should continue with opk's for this month just to set your mind at rest but use cheaper ones than the digitals. Are you sure you didn't ov before you started using your opk's? Perhaps next month you could try checking your temperature rather than the opk's - it would be cheaper for you and is easy to do - once you have got an idea of when you have ov'd from that perhaps you could then go back to the opk's for a month to back it up?

Spink · 21/09/2007 21:52

helloo, lovelies. Please can I join in? I recognise some of you from the Sept thread. it is nice to see your names, a bit like coming back to a safe place
Anyway. On the 8th Sept, I got a bfp followed later the same day by a bleed , and a few days later I was testing negative.
I wasn't sure what to do about ttc, and felt a bit squished so have been off the ttc threads for a bit. Sounds like I had a 'chemical pregnancy'. Some people say you should wait one cycle before ttc again. But. I've also read that, because it was so early (if I hadn't tested that morning, I would've just thought it was AF, I was only a day late), I can count the first day of the bleed as CD1. On that basis, I am now CD14, third cycle, ttc no.2.
dh is limbering up as I type. well, I hope he is anyway

Here's to a good batch of Oct BFPs

Hi Spink
Sorry to hear you news - must have been horrid for you. Can understand why you have had a break. Coming on here can really help but sometimes time away is needed.
Good to see you getting straight back into ttc.
If dh is limbering up for a night of fun you best not hang around here too long chatting - we will still be here 2moro and the day after and the day after that and so on BUT your peak days wont be and dh can't be guaranteed either so go and make most of it

Bucky2007 · 21/09/2007 22:22

Moodymoo I think you used yesterday's list?? Sorry, just lurking here and noticed...

sweetkitty · 21/09/2007 22:47

DP has gone to bed shattered bless him no BDing tonight when I moaned he said "set your alarm for 7am then" he knows there is no way I will be up for it at 7am (SK is not a morning person) cheeky sod I said tomorrow night will do instead. I'm thinking last time we got pregnant we BD-ed CD12, 14 and 16 and the twice before that once in the month. The CBD opks say BD in the 48 hours after so tomorrow night will do.

TS - thanks for the EWCM facts

spink - welcome to our little thread, I believe we are still waiting for our first graduate, I had a chemical pregnancy too before DD1, period a week late, v faint positive then nothing, didn't know what it was at the time though, apparently it is v common and most women don't even realise
