Mudda, I found one in Wilkinsons for 3.99.....

sweetheart · 05/10/2004 09:53

morning,

First of - Runtus, I'm so sorry about the BFN - I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you simply tested too early.

Secondly - Jeddah, I'm glad to see you've taken the plunge and come accross to the thread. I hope you will find it as comforting as I do

Thirdly - Tania2, dinner last night was great thanks. Had loads to eat and even more to drink. I'd only lost 1/2 Ib but that took me to my 1 Stone so I felt like splashing out.

Lastly - Hulababy, Miaou, Roisin. I hadn't any intention of looking back on that thread until I saw your messages this morning. I have been back and read it and sadly have been reduced to tears by some of the comments.
I have posted a rather long message that hopefully the people in question will take the time to read. Thankyou so much for your support - I would have felt 100 times worse if ther had been no-one fighting my corner. Thank you so much - I'm off to have another cry now.

runtus · 05/10/2004 10:02

S/heart which thread are you talking about? Email me direct of you want to have a chat [email protected]#

Don't cry!

MrsWednesday · 05/10/2004 10:17

Sweetheart, I thought your reply to all the horrible messages was spot on - what happened on that thread was completely unnecessary and mean and you really put them in their place. I hope a few of them feel a bit ashamed of themselves.

(((((((hugs)))))))) I'm really sorry they upset you, it upset me reading it so I can imagine how you must feel. Don't let them get to you.

MrsWednesday · 05/10/2004 10:23

Sorry, forgot to say hello to lipstick mum!

Some of the abbrieviations I've picked up from here are:

BFN - big fat negative refering to a pregnancy test.
BFP - big fat positive. Here's to lots of them on here
bd - baby dancing i.e. making babies
CD1 - cycle day one (i.e. the first day of your period)
AF - period.

Is there any more you need to know? Sorry, I can't think of any more!

Tessiebear · 05/10/2004 10:37

Sweetheart - i wasnt on MN last night but i have just read the whole thread about the Xmas present thing. (((((((Hugs))))))) to you - this would have reduced me to tears too. I have totally lost respect for certain MN members and i think the comments relating to whether your DD has any siblings was utterly DESPICABLE! I feel so cross that MN which is a supporting website could let a member down in this way and i feel so sad for you - you should not have to feel so sad about a thread you started which was purely to get some ideas for your DD's Xmas present. BTW - great response from you this morning, but at the same time you SHOULD NOT HAVE TO JUSTIFY YOURSELF TO ANYONE ... feel really angry now

sweetheart · 05/10/2004 10:37

Runtus, I'm sorry to have hyjacked your "feeling sad day"

The thread is the one called christmas gift for a girl that has everything. It got quite nasty and I've gone past the crying bit now (well nearly) to just feeling bloody angry!!!

Anyway, let's all get back to the matter in hand of ttc.

Welcome LipstickMum - most of the people on MN are lovely (unfortunalty you occasionally come accross a few tosser aswell)
To add to Mrs Wed list

cm - Cervical Mucas
Ov - Ovulation

sweetheart · 05/10/2004 10:39

Thanks Tessiebear - I'm glad I don't have a computer at home - I would have been so upset to read that last night. I'm always felt somewhat in the background on MN - these messages of support are really special to me because it makes me relise I have made some brilliant friends here.

runtus · 05/10/2004 10:41

Moving on to a much happier topic, what are we all having for lunch today then????

Tessiebear · 05/10/2004 10:42

BTW - will some sane person (i exclude myself from this) tell me why i spent £8.49 this morning on a First Response HPT when i an possibly only on CD25. It was of course negtive and a TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY with myself for being sooooo stupid. Feeling really stressed out about ttc - am in such a bad mood today - with DH (for spending the night of our wedding anniversary in front of the computer last night - we wernt actually talking anyway because my credit card bill was v. high this month - no money spent on me i hasten to add!!) and with everyone (except you lot )

MrsWednesday · 05/10/2004 10:53

I'm not sane either Tessiebear (did the same thing on CD26) so I can't help you, sorry!

sweetheart · 05/10/2004 10:53

I'm having a weight watchers microwave meal - I can't face any more salad!!!!!!!!

Tessie, you did that for the same reason we're all doing crazy things right now. Don't try and rationalise it - you'll end up thinking your a nut case (just like me)

Miaou · 05/10/2004 10:57

Hello this morning, for those of you thinking about temping, can I recommend using Fertility Friend? Hulababy recommended it and I am finding it fairly straightforward to use - it keeps track of your temp, predicts when you OV, suggests the best times for BDing and lots more. And it's free (I like that price!) here it is

sweetheart · 05/10/2004 10:59

I had real trouble with temping - I'm not the best morning person as it is.

I kept falling asleep with the thermometer in my mouth and then waking up wondering what the bloody hell was going on when it beeped.

Neadless to say I'll be sticking with the OPK's

runtus · 05/10/2004 10:59

I'm sticking to Wilkinsons from now on, blatantly the same tests but just in another packet and half the price.

I was going to have soup but it seems far too dull and some bright spark has just arrived with a whole box of biscuits!

sweetheart · 05/10/2004 11:05

busicuits that's not fair - although my colleague did ask me if I wanted a cream cake when i was crying this morning. Perhaps it's not too late to say no

runtus · 05/10/2004 11:06

Never too late for a cream cake!

LipstickMum · 05/10/2004 12:28

Thanks for the nice welcome, I think I am up to speed now on all the acroynms see you all later.

muddaofsuburbia · 05/10/2004 12:47

Thanks for the tip about Wilko Runtus. I'm afraid I was too impatient and popped into Boots and bought their own brand.

THe pack is unopened and waiting for dh to come home to be a witness 5 hours to wait...not sure if I can!

But then I keep remembering i should keep it all quiet until family etc know (lurkers have ears ) So if you don't hear from me on here after 6pm I guess you can draw your own conclusions!

runtus · 05/10/2004 12:49

Good luck Mudda!

LipstickMum · 05/10/2004 12:52

Good luck mudda crosses fingers

MINNIE1 · 05/10/2004 12:58

sweetheart,
Sorry for bringing this up again but i was deeply angry about what was said on the other thread (christmas present one) I hope you hold you head high.. and if you want to get a balloon ride for YOUR daughter you do that.. Please do not listen to the remarks as your better then that..
Just want to give my support..

Welcome to all the new arrivals.. >x>X>X>X sending baby you way to all..

Sorry i can't seem to keep up with this thread!! i'll have a talk with the boss (lighten the work load so i can spend more time on here)

Hope you all are having a good day

MINNIE1 · 05/10/2004 12:59

muddaofsuburbia, Good luck will check at 6

mrsflowerpot · 05/10/2004 13:08

Sweetheart - another one who was boiling on your behalf. I didn't post on the other thread (and won't now) as by the time I saw it last night I thought it best to let it die and not bump it back up. Good for you for standing up for yourself and I hope you can forget about it as the lot of silly bitchy women regressing to the behaviour of the playground that it was. I'm glad you're staying with us.

Anyway. Good luck tonight Mudda! Hope we don't hear from you iykwim! And Tessiebear, I know just what you mean, CD27 here (out of 30-32) and there is a test burning a hole in a drawer downstairs, even though I woke up with my giveaway pre-period spot this morning. I will not test until Saturday, I will not test until Saturday...

BeckiF · 05/10/2004 13:14

Hi ladies - here we are then on TTC11, and I wonder if I will ever graduate at all

Had a great party at the weekend, absolutley fabulous, but now on CD13 I feel like I've picked up the flu/chesty/sicky bug that's going around ... Going on hols on Friday (I hope) and will test when I get back just to make sire, although I'm expecting the usual 12 month cycle.
