Congratulations to all those BFP's

I am on CD16 and have terrible period like pains, mmmm I wonder.....? I think I OV on CD14, can you get symptoms so quickly ?

Thank you Becki for asking those questions, youve saved me asking the same ones.

I never get these type of pains mid month, but I do remember looking back that I thought when I was PG with dd that any day now my AF was going to turn up as I had bad AF pains

hester · 06/10/2004 18:51

MESSAGE FOR DEJAYRUS - Toni Weschler defines short luteal phases as less than 10 days between ovulation and AF. Medical remedies include clomid, HCG injections and progesterone (including natural progesterone creams). She also suggests consulting a nutritionist and taking 200-500 milligrams a day of vitamin B6. It sounds worth discussing with your doctor.

MommyD · 06/10/2004 19:07

I get ov pains every month. I get twinges on one side that can last a few hours and it turns into a dull ache across my lower abdomen (bit similar to constipation types pains, or a little bit like mild af pains)
I posted a few days back about only being able to bd up until cd11 this monnt because dh has gone away. I actually got all the pains described above on cd13 (usually get them on cd 14 or 15)!

cp3 · 06/10/2004 19:09

That sounds like what i have at the mo, dull ache but very noticable. No way its af as im on cd 10.

... oh and I usually know when I am ov because I find the most unlikely people attractive for a day!! Very odd. I even thought my unattractive boss was sexy yesterday. When I woke up this morning (pains gone, ov over) I thought. Yuk how could I have THOUGHT that?!!! Anyone else get that?

hester · 06/10/2004 19:16

YES! 48 hours of madness, in which I shock even myself by my unseemly thoughts. Seems Mother Nature just doesn't want to let that egg go by...

cp3 · 06/10/2004 19:17

errrm no!!!! Cant say i have unless you count Paul from the salon who i had a very nice dream about last night and i never thought i found him attractive till i dreamt about him iyswim

MommyD · 06/10/2004 19:25

Oh good hester - it's not just me!
I feel sexy, sexy, sexy for a day (much more than usual, of course). There's no mistaking it. I also have a happy feel-good feeling to the day.
Thanks goodness I love my dh so much 'cos there aren't half a lot of sexy men about when I'm ovulating!!! Don't know where they all go the day after!! Any ideas?

GeorgesMummy · 06/10/2004 19:48

Hello to everyone, many congrats to all those with bfp.
I've only just realised reading all your messages that I too get those overwhelming feelings for that men I don't usually go for. Only last nite I had a dream about a celeb from 'The Match',very steamy it was too!! I never have dreams like that normally. It is also my time for ov, how strange I've never made the connection before. Good Luck to everyone for this month.

Tessiebear · 06/10/2004 19:58

Well i definately had those cramps you described on Saturday (CD 17) I pressumed that i had already OVed but that does make a lot of sense!! (And it was so weird but we were round some friends house and i found my good friends partner strangely attractive - and he so isnt - just for that one evening!!!) Oh well i did BD on the Friday (night before) so who knows!

cp3 · 06/10/2004 20:04

lol at our raging hormones

Hulababy · 06/10/2004 20:40

Thanks all; just got back from seeing friend's 5 day old baby boy. Very sweet little thing

Just been reading through some of messags. This month I appearsed to have 10 days lutueal (sp?) phase - OVd on CD18, and then Af started today - 10dpo. Is that okay? Normal(ish)? Or should I be seeking out supplements or anything to help out. Took so long last time, so keen to do whatever will help this time round.

Tessiebear · 06/10/2004 20:50

Hula- as you know i am know expert, but i would say that lutueal phase is SLIGHTLY shorter than average - i think they say about 12 days is average - worth looking into?!?

BTW - i have decided that due to the most obvious symptom so far (OV Cramps on Saturday) that my CD must be CD21 today. I not going to test until CD 30 and i am going to relax and not imagine anymore symptoms until AF is here or late!

BeckiF · 06/10/2004 20:54

Feeling sick tonight, but probably as I'm so damned tired. This bug has taken it out of me. Hols on Friday though, so last day in the office tomorrow! Hazahh!

Geordie · 06/10/2004 21:06

hula- 10 days does sound a bit short. Vitex..or angus castus is meant to be good for regualting the cycle- available at most good health shops. It could just be the process of getting back to normal post pill though. You can read up on things like that on FF website. I would wait and see if your next cycle is the same- hopefully there will just be a bfp rather than another slightly short lp!!

I am 12 dpo myself and having funny sicky burps but i myself think that af will turn up soon...testing on sunday if she hasn't

Hulababy · 06/10/2004 21:12

I am going to keep monitoring for another couple of months and if there is definitely a pattern of short lutuel phase I will look into seriously then. Think doctors are more likely to listen to me if I have some "evidence".

Geordie - good luck

I'm not going to be around (after tonight) until Sunday so fingers crossed for everyone

Tessiebear · 06/10/2004 21:15

Have a good weekend Hula -
Have a great holiday Becki

Hulababy · 07/10/2004 07:52

(((hugs))) So sorry Geordie

TMI warning below:

Not having great time with AF right now. Today I was supposed to start work at the prison but I can't go in. Not sure if it is because I've been on pill again but for the first time ever I have nightmare AF. Each time I stand or sit I just fel like it is flooding. Yesterday I had to leave school after one lesson (luckily as my free started) to go to the local outlet and uy new underwear and skirt. This morning I am having to wash my bedding and PJs, and have washed bathroom floor DH has been very understanding - as not going into prison means no money for today. There is no way I could spend the day locked inside a classroom with a dozen male offenders, and risk it happening. It's not as if I could just sneak off to toilet at any time to sort it out. I just hope it stops before tonight as we are off to London - so a long car trip to contend with.

Anyone have any experience of heavy AF, and what I can do about it?

Is it likely to be a one off, related tobeing on pill for so long? Whilst on pill I had no AF for over a year, and then hardly anything at all for following year. AF lasted half a day of spotting last month.

Help!

runtus · 07/10/2004 08:50

Hulababy, I've not had quite such a bad af but coming off the pill def did do strange things to my periods. Last month was really (REALLY)painful and much heavier than normal and that was 4 months after coming off the pill. So I wouldn't be surprised if your bad time is caused by the pill withdrawl.....hope you are feeling better now. If it carries on I would contact the doctor though, just to be safe.

Hulababy · 07/10/2004 08:52

Cheers runtus I spoke to MIL - she works in the chemist - and she said to speak to nurse if it continues, but as no clots, etc. it is probably hormonal and related to coming off pill.

MINNIE1 · 07/10/2004 09:18

Hulababy,
I had one the month b4 last.. it was very heavy and had alot of clots!! and i was up and down all night.. correct me if im wrong but i think tania said somthing about heavy AF, releases more eggs.. Hope you feel better soon AF is a right
