Hello girls, just wanted you to know that there are 2 of us that are running with IVF this august and sept ... wondering if you want to join us?

As I have got older it has taken me a couple of cycles to get back to normal. I think its the progestrone they give which makes it longer for you to ovulate in your next cycle. Everyone is different so don't worry it only makes things worse! Just put you feet up and treat it as a month off trying, as it can be exhausting.

tempi · 28/09/2007 17:09

Hi cedar and everyone. We it has been 8 days since my egg was fertilised and 6 days since ET.

I am putting my feel up and trying to keep my mind busy!!!! I must admit I am really missing the wine!!!!!!

I go from being a little positive to being very negative and I guess this is normal!
The more I think about it the more I convince myself it hasn't work!

By now.. if all is going well, my embryo should have implanted!!!!!!! OMG wish I owned a crystal ball!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am due for a blood test next thursday which will be 14 days after EC and fertilisation and will come home and do my own HPT as I don't want to have to wait 7hrs for the result!

Hope you are all well.

Cedar, look after yourself!

Tempi.....what a brilliant idea....crystal balls.....now that would save us a lot of heartache...not to mention money thrown at the Clearblue company!!!

I think it's only natural to swing form positive to negative....very frustrtaing to know that there's nothing you can do now...but keep on resting and trying to will those days away.

Next Thursday doesn't sound too far away for me (who's VERY excited for you)...but I bet it sounds FOREVER away for you!!!!

Thinking of you Tempi - are you watching loads of lovely DVDs? - It might help you pass the time on grey yucky days like this.

Good luck!

It was always the last bit i found the hardest. keep posting and don't believe those twinges!

Iamsogloomy · 06/10/2007 10:21

Hello, just dropping in and read this thread with real interest - so many of you are going or have been through what I have been. Mind if I join you? I'm not as miserable as my new name suggests, honestly! [must think of more positive name or I'll be mistaken for a hut escapee...]

Tempi I hope it's good news for you.

Coggy, I've followed your story on MN on and off for the last 2 yrs or so and I'm so sorry IUI hasn't worked for you. I've had 2 failed IUIs and now trying to decide whether to keep on going with 1 or 2 more or go for IVF. If i'm honest i had really low expectations of it working for me . All the very best of luck for your next stage.

Chocolatedays, your posts about your IVF experience have been really helpful for me. I've been thinking of it as such a massive step compared to IUI, financially, emotionally and morally (i mean i'm scared i'll be "going against nature" if we have to resort to ICSI). Did you do IUI first? I'm also seeing an accupuncturist and he's also sucessfully bringing ov fwd for me and so making LP longer. Wish I'd have found him before i did the IUI.

Anyway, sorry for the long post, hello and good luck to you all.x

coggy · 06/10/2007 10:29

Thank you Iamsogloomy.
It's hard making these disicions isn't it? Especially, I guess, when finances are involved. I am very lucky to have had my treatment so far on the NHS. I am incredibly grateful that I haven't had that extra stress as well.

Tempi - still thinking about you.
Hope you are okay.
X

coggy · 06/10/2007 10:30

Ooops! Dodgy spelling there!!!!

cedar12 · 08/10/2007 08:31

hi everyone just a quick question to those who have had previous ivf how long did your cycle take to get back to normal. Since ivf I have had 2 period one started on the day of the test and the 2nd was about 6 days late I am usually pretty regular. I wont usually worry but I am having a lap and dye on nov 8th so not sure weather to ttc this month or not.
Tempi thinking of you.

latenightowl · 08/10/2007 21:36

Hi Cedar, mine was the same as yours - first one on time or there abouts, and the second one I kept testing as it went to 30 days so around 5 -6 days late. Im hoping this one will be back on cycle again. I think it is due to all the drugs and emotional upheaval that changes them!

Any news on Tempi - I keep looking and havent seen anything.... Tempi if you are looking in - do let us know how you are?

soosy · 10/10/2007 21:56

Hi tempi hope you are well.

Cedar, my cycles are al over the place after IVF one time they told me to continue taking the progesterone pessaries even though I was obviously having a period and I didn't have my next period for 45 days - I'm a 30 day girl. Bizzarely both times I conceived I had 28 day cycle - which I think is quite important, hoping Acupucture will help next ivf attempt for DC2.

gloomy, sorry to hear of your failed treatments, its a big secret how tough it is when it doesn't happen. Don't think of IVF as a negative step, it may actually give you what you want.

coggy · 10/10/2007 22:21

Tempi...sending you lots of prayers and thoughts for either outcome.
