Testing mid January - anyone else like to join?

So I'm a very keen bean, as it would seem, as I am (unfortunately) on CD1! Glorious AF arrived today..yay..

So looking at my app I am due to take a HPT mid January. Would anyone like to join me?

27, DH 28
TTC #1 following a MMC in October
Track BBT and CM
Will use SMEP this cycle

@Ellabella234 hi lovely, yes that's negative. The second line (test line) needs to be at least as dark as, or darker than, the control line for it to be classed as positive. I recommend downloading the premom app as it can help you recognise what is low, high, peak etc on an OPK x

I'm ok thanks, how are you? I had some LH surges on OPKs with no temp rise, and some spotting today, so no idea what's going on. I've given up on OPKs. How are you? X

Can I join in? I'm 27 also!! And due to test on 17th Jan (seems so long away haha) should be ovulating within this next week. OPKs at the ready! Tesco only had the expensive clear blue ones so at least I have the easy smiley faces to go by this time 🤣

Can I join? 25 and ttc #2 (had DD when I was 19 SO I'm new to TTC!), cycle 1 (we weren't going to start until January) and I haven't been tracking cycles so unsure when next period is due but I think I'm ovulating now. Exciting!

Is anyone using SMEP? I started a thread for this www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/3759056-SMEP-feel-free-to-join - tried it loosely this cycle but the OPKs haven't shed any light for me! If anyone has used the CB digital before I'd love to hear your experiences as I'm leaning towards that next cycle x

I have abandoned the clear blue tests as the last few months they have been totally wrong!!! what day do you normally ovulate?

@myttcjourney oh no don't say that 🙈 well it's only my second cycle off the pill so unsure, estimated to ovulate on Friday. So goi g to start Opks tomorrow as 27 day cycle is more common for me.

Hi its my first month trying and thought I had ovulated 10 days ago but now not so sure, had loads of symptoms but now probs think there all in my head. I took a pregnancy test and ovulation tests cant really see anything on the pregnancy test but does this ovulation test look positive? I have irregular periods so would love to know if I'm ovulating so I can try. Sorry for all the questions I am a first timer

@liam2018 I would DTD now as well, in my experience I got a lot of false positive opk's so I just make sure I do them all month and any time there is a peak we DTD to cover it

@elly88 😂🙈 a lot of people think the clear blue ones are really good, but for me they were way out.

Think it's like anything, works for some and not others. Hopefully they do for you

Thanks @myttcjourney, I did today already but I might try again tonight just incase did using the opk results work, should I do them all month cause with my irregular periods I just never know. I've been doctors and they've done all there tests and said theres no reason I cant conceive by myself so I'm hoping it does happen for me.

Hi ladies! I hope it's okay to join - I'm 27, married and have a 7y/o DS. First cycle for me and the husband, CD4 I suppose after my coil removal triggered the worlds worst period. Looking at testing mid to late January. Just feeling a bit aggy as I want to crack on with making the baby bit but my uterus was pretty much "hey bitch remember me?!" as soon as my coil was removed.

@liam2018 so they say after a positive opk within 36 hours you ovulate and an egg can survivor 24 hours so I would always dtd 2-3 days after a positive opk

They were so way off for me, I think I must be one of those people with more than one peak a month. But I did what the tests said and stopped testing after a positive.. I had a scan 2 months ago that showed the opks were totally wrong for me, so now I do test all month from about day 11

@liam2018 how long have you been trying, which tests did the doctor do for you?

@myttcjourney thanks that's helpful, this is my first month really trying but we did need to go doctors cause we weren't using contraception and my periods were so irregular. I had a abdominal ultrasound and an ultrasound on my ovaries. They said theres nothing wrong apart from my left ovary is a little larger but I dont have cyst or any reason for me not to get pregnant

I have had scans and bloods and more scans 😂 and more bloods

@myttcjourney did you what was the outcome, all good I hope!! And no bloods they said I didnt need it so hopefully there right and I can concieve naturally

Another OPK question if that's ok....
How much trust do I put in them?
Could I be ovulating in the next 24hrs and test hasn't told me or do they always predict it (if line is as dark or darker)?
CD 26 now, testing twice a day just to see but nothing yet. Apps are predicting NYE is my ovulation day. New to all this! I guess doing BD now/tomorrow if apps are correct then there's a chance?

@Liam2018 have you tried testing with frer and fmu?
When i got pregnant it was my opk that showed positive before the pregnancy test and i was also lost! Or thought i was... but in reality the opk picked up hcg at lower level

@michette I havent but I have some coming in the post, I might test when they come. I've read a lot that being relaxed about it helps, so might just dtd and have fun with it and hope it works! I will let you know what the frer says. Couldn't say when af will turn up with my irregular periods! Congrats on the pregnancy!!

@Ellabella234 CD 26 sounds very late to ovulate, do you normally ovulate around then and have extremely long cycles?

I OV CD25 last month, I had a 39 day cycle. Keep testing, but I would also DTD to be sure x

@Elly88 @myttcjourney Yes my cycles are usually on average 41 days long. I've had a couple that were 30 but the rest are between 41 - 50 (one has been 59......). So this month my Clue app is telling me I ovulate on NYE CD28. But who knows whether that's right or not. My natural cycles app is saying the same but I've not had any time to take my temps each morning for the last 2 weeks as my 3yo keeps waking up for me at silly times!🙈❤️ thanks x

@Ellabella234 I have abandoned the apps for ovulation prediction, they have never been even close to accurate for me. I also have irregular cycles so it's a nightmare trying to predict.

Opk's give me false positives too..no wonder I haven't got my bfp yet 🤣 total minefield

My Dr has actually given me something for my irregular cycles, have you considered taking anything? c
