Hi Ladies! Is anybody testing this week, and feeling anxious? Do you think this is ‘your month’, or are you feeling too scared to be hopeful? However you’re feeling, let’s discuss. It can be difficult to have the same conversation with your partner – who, while wanting to support you, does not understand the compulsion to ‘symptom watch’.

I’m currently 7DPO. Yesterday I was laid up in bed all day. I had a brief stitch on my left side, mild stomach pains, cold-like symptoms (well I was shaking them off from the day before), and horrible lower back pains. It could all be anxiety-related, as I suspect, but if anyone else has had these ‘feelings’, it would be good to hear.

P.S. AF is due anytime between 15-18 September.

POAS yesterday was -ve. I know it means nothing at 7DPO but I don’t ‘feel’ pregnant anymore! I’m so bloody suggestible!!

Rainforestandshine · 14/09/2019 07:40

This morning I tested again after getting a faint positive last Monday at 8DPO. Five days later the BFP Star is very clear. I’m very happy but also very anxious. Will be praying each day for a healthy and successful pregnancy.

Wishing the best for everyone this month and thereafter xxx

That's such brilliant news @Rainforestandshine and the line is exactly as it should be!

Try to enjoy the news and not let the anxiety take the edge off such a lovely time 😊😊😊 x

Rainforestandshine · 14/09/2019 09:06

@Hardheadedwoman39 Hey you!!! Good to hear from you. Thank you for the good wishes.
You’re now out of your fertile window. I’m guessing that that stage was OK Smile. Let me know when you’ll be testing. Will be thinking of you x

I tested today and it was negative but I'm only 7dpo so too early but I got impatient 🙄

I'm not sure if I've had symptoms or not....nothing stand out like a runny nose 😂

I've been tracking my bbt and it's looking as it should but who knows. I will try not to test until Tuesday now I'm thinking..... x

Makeafamily19 · 14/09/2019 10:24

Congratulations @Rainforestandshine a very clear line!! All the best for a healthy pregnancy x

user1471501621 · 14/09/2019 16:49

I tested today and was negative with frer at 11dpo but af not due till Monday. So I ll try and wait again to test then

Sardi28 · 14/09/2019 18:24

Congratulations @Rainforestandshine such a lovely time and best feeling in the world seeing that BFP! Xx

Rainforestandshine · 15/09/2019 08:20

@Hardheadedwoman39 7DPO is very early and is unlikely to show anything. As you said, test again in a few days’ time. Best wishes! x

@Makeafamily19 @Sardi28 Thank you! It’s exciting… but also anxiety-inducing. Just trying to relax. Where are you in your TTC journey?

Makeafamily19 · 15/09/2019 10:59

@Rainforestandshine I am at the end of cycle 3 (though weren't really trying the first 2), 13DPO and AF due tomorrow. Been spotting since Thursday though as I normally do before AF so am sure she is on the way and then it will be onto cycle 4! What cycle was this for you?

Rainforestandshine · 15/09/2019 12:37

@Makeafamily19 This was my fifth cycle. But the first in which I correctly recorded my ovulation. Before then I was relying on an app which was way off. It had me ovulating almost a week later than I actually did. Therefore, I recommend OPKs. I got an expensive one which I used just once, but it was worth it!

OP posts:
Makeafamily19 · 15/09/2019 14:44

@Rainforestandshine yeah the apps are good but only based on averages. I have been using cheap OPKs for months (before I started ttc) to get used to them. I use a clear blue once I get a strong positive to confirm the cheapies. Just bought the ones where they go from flashing to static. I'm going to try and chart my BBT this month though to see if that shows I'm ovulating as I have very short light periods (1-2 days) which worries me.

cavycavy · 15/09/2019 21:58

I was literally coming on to ask which OPK everyone recommends.

Congratulations @Rainforestandshine !!! So lovely to see the line getting darker. Such exciting times ahead!

I’m testing every day like a bloody lunatic!!! Definitely need OPK!!

cavycavy · 15/09/2019 21:59

@Rainforestandshine which OPK did you use?

Sardi28 · 15/09/2019 22:00

@Rainforestandshine I'm on cycle 3 and TTC number 2 😊 my son is 3 and it took us 10 months to get caught with him. I'm hoping that was because my body took its time after coming off of the pill to get back to "normal"I haven't been back on it since so fingers crossed this is our month. Tbh we've been quite relaxed about it this time, but I'd like to give SMEP a go. I think OPKs would stress me out 🙈

Hardheadedwoman39 · 16/09/2019 09:00

@Rainforestandshine
So I retested today - 10dpo and got a very very faint pink on a FRER 😬
Can anyone see it too?

I had a CP in August and this is my first cycle after....

Rainforestandshine · 16/09/2019 09:40

@Hardheadedwoman39 Hey Smile I can see a very very faint line too. When is AF due?

@Makeafamily19 Sounds like a good plan.

@cavycavy Thank you. I used the CBFM. Yes, it is expensive, but I got pregnant the first time of using it so, for me, it was worth every penny. I’ve heard a lot of people say that they got pregnant on using it once. I don’t think you necessarily have to buy this model but it is helpful to know your high and peak fertility days. I’m not that good at reading sticks so I needed something that simply told me what’s what.

@Sardi28 Being relaxed is the advice I got from a friend before I got the BFP, so good approach!

Wishing you all best wishes!

Hardheadedwoman39 · 16/09/2019 09:49

@Rainforestandshine I think I'm due on the 23rd and I'm guessing my ovulation date a Friday 6th....I had the coil removed in July so haven't been quite sure but am normally a 28 day cycle. After I said I hadn't had a runny nose I then did the next day 🙄

Rainforestandshine · 16/09/2019 10:00

@Hardheadedwoman39 If you are due on the 23rd then testing today was still too early so you would never have seen a strong line. Seeing one at all at this stage should hopefully be a good sign, but you should test again in 2-3 days. If you can’t wait (I mean who really could wait that long? No really, who? Smile), why don’t you use ICs until then – if you have any! Exciting…!!!! Has this cemented your feelings about this potential pregnancy?

Well now you have the runny nose, not sure why you need to test Grin xx

OP posts:
Hardheadedwoman39 · 16/09/2019 10:03

@Rainforestandshine 😂😂😂
I'm hopeless at waiting and justify the cost of FRER by thinking I'm not drinking wine 🙄

I've always shown positive MEGA early....will retest in the next few days (minutes.....)
How're you feeling?

Rainforestandshine · 16/09/2019 10:26

@Hardheadedwoman39 I’m okay. It feels strange being pregnant. This is my first time. Every twinge makes me nervous. I went to the hospital over the weekend because I was worried about the cramps I was experiencing. They asked me to give a U sample. I didn’t know that the egg carton style cup was for catching it, so I simply directed my sample straight into the narrow bottle. It got a bit messy. My fiancé looked mortified when he saw me holding the unused cup and the bottle housed inside the cup as I waited for the doctor. He explained how it was supposed to be done. I’m so clueless about this entire process Blush.

Anyway, the doctor thought all was ok but advised me to see my doctor today. I have an appointment with one tomorrow. AF would be due anytime from today to Wednesday so I’ve been quite anxious about that, as you can imagine. But I’m at home trying to relax.

How are you feeling knowing that you may be pregnant again?

OP posts:
Hardheadedwoman39 · 16/09/2019 10:31

@Rainforestandshine try weeing in a sample cup 8 months pregnant THAT is virtually impossible 😂

I hope that the cramping calms down - twinges and pains are very normal as all the ligaments start relaxing and stretching straight away...

I'm feeling calm at the moment as it's such early days....

Rainforestandshine · 16/09/2019 15:40

@Hardheadedwoman39 The cramps have definitely calmed down since Friday night. I get the occasional twinge, usually when I have an anxious thought. This tells me that my emotions are controlling much of my physical symptoms. So the priority right now is to relax!!!
I think if I’d been through this before it wouldn’t seem so scary but everything’s all new. Praying for the best Star.

Let me know when you test again… Did you do it straight after the first? Wink

Congratulations @Rainforestandshine and tentative congratulations @Hardheadedwoman39. I’m due Wednesday so waiting until Thursday. No signs yet but who knows... hoping hoping

Rainforestandshine · 16/09/2019 16:07

@GinUnicorn Not long to wait. Although I’m sure it feels like an age. Hope all goes well.
