Anyone else in the TWW and want to keep each other sane?

@Blossomingflower94 Fingers crossed for you! Did you try to do the OPK in the the afternoon too? It does say on the CB ones that you can do them multiple times a day once you've gotten to the flashing smileys, though combining them with the cheapies sounds like a good economical strategy!

I'm still on the big fat blank ones which is a bit anticlimactic haha. Then again realistically I would probably expect to ovulate in a week's time so I guess it makes sense.

Blossomingflower94 · 14/09/2019 19:49

Did another one this afternoon and it's still flashing. Only got one left so I really hope tomorrow morning is it!

Previously I've had my + on day 13 so it's obviously later this month.

We will see!

Hopefully you'll have a flashing smiley soon!

I'm out.

Still a flashing smiley even though both the lines are equally dark on the strip when you remove it.

Wont see DP till Tuesday night now. We didn't DTD last night as he was feeling a bit under the weather.

Completely gutted - really hoped this month would be it for us but I still haven't got my + OPK and its now been 2 days since we DTD so there will be no sperm left alive unfortunately.

Good luck to all of you - lots of baby dust going your way. xx

@Blossomingflower94 hi lovely! I had the CB tests the other month and I too took it apart to see the strip behind it. The lines were randomly darker and lighter all the time and I looked into it and apparently they don't really mean anything and you should only look at the face as the strips don't work like other dip tests. You might not be out as remember a positive means that you're going to ovulate 12-36 hours later which would take you to Tuesday anyway :) keep testing if you can or pick up some cheapies if you run out! You may still have a shot! X

Blossomingflower94 · 15/09/2019 15:37

@november90
I went to buy another pack so I can carry on testing - Bloody expensive but at least I'll know when my LH surge is this month. Turns out it was this afternoon! I tested just after 2 and got the static smiley with the LH surge confirmed on a cheapie too.

Last time we DTD was Friday night (13th) around 21:00hrs do you think its still feasible that anything could happen this month or shall I just write this off and forget it for the rest of the month? I know sperm can live up to 4 days but that's in 'perfect' conditions.

Sorry everyone for being so damn pessimistic I'm just feeling a bit low today.

How are you feeling @november90?

@Blossomingflower94
They really are aren't they, I didn't have the heart to buy anymore after I ran out so I resorted to boots ovulation sticks and was really pleased with them and found them really consistent.
So if your surge was this aft then you're actual ovulation will be anytime from now up until the next 36 hours so you could well be in with a shot! If you go by the smep (which I did last month) they say to dtd everyday after surge for 3 days, miss a day a then the following day, so there must be a chance you can still get pregnant all that time after! If you ovulate straight away you definitely have a shot from Friday!
I know it isn't ideal, but I would say you still have a shot :)

I'm feeling ok thank you apart from being super tired and ratty as hell, haha! I'm about 5 weeks now so it's still so early and I still don't believe it! Today/yesterday I've had a few sickly moments but I've also got a cold so I don't know what's associated to what really 🙈

Blossomingflower94 · 16/09/2019 07:40

November that's so exciting for you. Hopefully you don't get too sicky!
Everything crossed for you xx

@Blossomingflower94 Sorry to hear that, what timing! I guess things happen the way they're supposed to ☹️ Still not entirely impossible that you could get pregnant if you ovulate today, Friday 13th could be doing its magic! It's not out of the question for sperm to survive for 3 days (I know the 5 days sounds like much but 3 is not impossible).

I've still not even had a flashing, CD12 now. I don't like how the OPKs make me think (thoughts like "no point having sex today") so I don't think I'll be doing them again next month.

Blossomingflower94 · 16/09/2019 16:03

@Raizelrea I know - blooming work interfering with our lives! Next month definitely looks more promising depending on the length of cycle I have. I might end up booking a day off so we have the right days together. Crazy.

Yeah it's difficult in terms of flashing smileys. I'd still go by the SMEP and do it every other day from day 8 until PEAK and then three days running. You may only have 1 high fertility day and then move straight onto peak the next. My friend didn't have any high and just went from nothing to peak and now she's 20 weeks pregnant! Chin up :)

Blossomingflower94 I think we are exactly synchronised!!

Blossomingflower94 · 16/09/2019 16:41

@chaos that's so funny! How are you doing this month?

OP posts:
Raizelrea · 16/09/2019 20:19

@Blossomingflower94 Thanks lovely! Yes we'll still DTD every other day if it feels right, I wouldn't want my OH to feel like I'm only interested in him in my feetile window either way. I've noticed that I'm fairly energised for a Monday evening so maybe my estrogen levels are finally picking up 😊

The opposite shifts have to be tough! Fingers crossed for next month - though I wouldn't give up on this one yet, it seems a lot of people end up conceiving when they least expect it 😊

Raizelrea · 17/09/2019 07:27

Flashing smiley reported! 😊 It is definitely reassuring to see that my body is doing what it's supposed to be doing 😊

Blossomingflower94 · 17/09/2019 15:08

Yay!! It's so exciting isn't it! Carry on with all the DTD and you'll get your BFP in no time 😊

My BBT puts me ovulating the same day I got my peak so hopefully I'm not out this month.

TWW - testing 4th September
Raizelrea · 17/09/2019 22:07

@Blossomingflower94 Thank you for the support! 😊 Ooh definitely if you ovulated on Sunday you should still have pretty good chances from DTD Friday before. Got everything crossed for you!

@Jojowash Aww how lovely, that is one good blob ❤️

Chaosonthehorizon · 18/09/2019 21:15

Blossomingflower94 better I think thanks. Have had some other stuff to deal with so has taken my mind off ttc. Let’s see, when are you testing or waiting until AF? How are you doing?

Blossomingflower94 · 18/09/2019 21:22

I hope its good things that have taken your mind off TTC!

I'm feeling a lot more chilled out this month. Not symptom spotting. I've told myself that the only symptom that will make me think i'm pregnant is sore boobs because i've never had them before! Everything else is just a normal cycle for me apparently.

I said this last month but I think im going to wait for AF. I go on holiday soon and won't be back till the 28th so there is no point testing before then anyway. I'm definitely not taking tests away with me and were staying super remote so wont be able to buy any. That combined with the fact that I don't think we DTD at the right time this month is probably why i'm chilled. haha.

How about you? When are you planning on testing?

OP posts:
AliSxo · 18/09/2019 22:58

Hey I've not been as obsessed with it all this month, last month was the first one off the pill and I was symptom spotting and testing so early but this month I've only done 3 OPK tests so not sure when I exactly ovulated. Flo app is predicting me at 4DPO so fingers crossed for a BFP this month, I don't want to test this month and let AF let me know so we'll see if that lasts xxxx

Raizelrea · 19/09/2019 07:33

You are.both so right about symptom spotting. I found a website called Countdown to Pregnancy, which shows statistics of various symptoms women felt each DPO and whether that resulted in a pregnancy, and it really shows that the vast majority of symptoms can be experienced by women at that point of their cycle regardless of whether they're pregnant or not. Especially with early symptom spotting there seemed to be second to none that were a clear indicator of pregnancy. I've found it helpful to look at!

Chaosonthehorizon · 19/09/2019 15:16

Going to try and hold out for AF but do keep thinking that the symptoms I am feeling are the same as the last few months so assuming not happening but who knows. Read awful things about c section scarring and PCO in older women recently too. Am sure DH wouldn’t countenance any assistance for a third baby as he thinks that either way is great (so sticking with 2 or having 3)

AliSxo · 19/09/2019 23:00

@Raizelrea it's so confusing as AF symptoms are so similar to pregnancy!! Wish you lots of baby dust, when are you due AF? Xx

Raizelrea · 20/09/2019 07:21

@AliSxo Thank you lovely! Due AF on 5 October (or around then anyway). So not DPO yet, should any day now though. What about you - you must be nearly a week into your TWW now? Not long to go! ☺️

Blossomingflower94 · 20/09/2019 07:57

It's crazy how many symptoms you ignore when your not TTC. That's why I'll only get excited if I have sore boobs 😂

Currently 4 DPO so just trying to chill and enjoy my time off rather than wishing it all away.

Still saying no to caffeine and we went for dinner last night and I had the 'pregnancy safe' option (no liver or rare steak for me) just in case by some miracle we have conceived this month.

OP posts:
Raizelrea · 20/09/2019 08:27

@Blossomingflower94 Sounds like you're making the most of it! I'm also more chill this month but watch this space when I get to the TWW haha! Have you gone completely caffeine free? I've mostly switched to decaff and green tea (which both still have caffeine of course) and ocassionally do still have a real coffee, don't know if I could fully give it up!
