Ask away, whether it's OPK's, LH, Temping (BBT), Surges, lines, DPO's, ask away, I have worked for the big boys of fertility and some of the smaller ones....

@EvelineUK Had some lower left abdo cramping. About 3d PO or so I thought... thought I'd just do a OPK and got a positive result 🤨 Currently CD 20 ... doesn't that seem quite late?

beckymum · 08/09/2019 20:39

Is this a positive? Or not quite?
And is it true you should test for ovulation in the afternoon not FMU?
Thanks!

@Absa

Was the test line stronger than the control line? Or did you just get a line?

OP posts:
EvelineUK · 09/09/2019 14:43

@beckymum

That is a positive result for LH, but the test line needs to be stronger than the control to show a 'peak' response.
Yes you should test anything other than FMU unless using the new CBO

Thank you @EvelineUK

However my result today looks if anything a little weaker so was yesterday as close to peak as I'm going to get? Or should I keep testing?

(In picture yesterday's is at the top, today's is below)

@beckymum

Did you test Friday or Saturday?

beckymum · 09/09/2019 14:55

Oh and I meant to say I got the static smiley face on the clearblue advanced test yesterday, but I am keen to be able to interpret just using ICs as I can't afford clearblue every month! Thanks xx

beckymum · 09/09/2019 14:56

Yes- they were much weaker . I didn't keep photos but nothing like yesterday's.

beckymum · 09/09/2019 14:57

Maybe the lesson is , that I should keep them as a progression chart rather than trying to interpret based on one photo!!

Absa · 09/09/2019 16:39

@EvelineUK it was as strong if not stronger. Defiantly not just a line.

nespressowoo · 09/09/2019 18:24

Can you tell me in simple terms how temperature and ovulation are linked and when it should rise and fall? Thanks Smile

EvelineUK · 10/09/2019 11:35

@Beckymum
Correct, you may not get a true peak, but you will be able to see when you can expect your peak..
@Absa
CD20 is late, but not unheard of if you are having 40 day cycles for example.
@nespressowoo
In simple terms After the egg is released the 'oven' warms up ready for the fertilised egg, so you will see a temperature spike the day after ovulation, hence if you are regular you will know that the following month which day (cd10-15) your next ovulation is due. How quickly it falls is down to the individual.

@EvelineUK Hi I'm a bit confused with my opks and hoping you could shed some light on what's going on 😂. I think my base is pretty high and i have had 'High' opks and I thought I had my peak around 19 or 20CD but due to being in Italy i couldn't do opks. I'm now CD26 and I've got a really dark opk, I thought I was 6dpo but could I be ovulating really late? My cycles have bee. Ranging from 33-35 days but never 40.
A few ladies have said it could be possible it's picking up HCG and I could be pregnant but surely 6dpo is too early even for implantation unless I ovulated early?

@EvelineUK Just an update, this is what my opk chart looks like and the last photo is my opk from today. I'm slightly confused as to what's going on. If ovulated when I thought I'd be 9dpo and if it was the other day I'd be 3dpo so I'm unsure as to why I got a positive opk today. I'm getting cramps by my overies especially on the right side. Could this be a AF surge?

I got a positive on an OPK on Friday night, it looked to fade a bit on Saturday then a strong positive again yesterday. We didn't dtd few days leading up to the positives first two of our children and then hubby had a sickness bug so we only dtd the last night. Does it sound like I've missed the window for this month?

EvelineUK · 17/09/2019 10:32

@Hewie30
Looks like you ovulated at cd19, not sure on the other positives, but implantation shouldn't give a second positive?

OP posts:
EvelineUK · 17/09/2019 10:34

@Crazymummyto3
I would be surprised if you caught it this month you needed to dtd Thursday and or Friday to hit the window...

Hewie30 · 17/09/2019 10:37

@EvelineUK It's strange isn't it I'm not sure why it's gone back to positive 😂. Okay that's interesting so ovulated at CD19? I wasn't sure if CD26 was my peak so I'm glad I asked

HarperJess · 17/09/2019 15:02

I'm joining this too! We're trying to conceive, last period was on 25/08 so should have finished ovulating over a week ago, still 8 days till I'm due on.. done a few pt's (I'm impatient) and they're all negative but I REALLY feel pregnant. I know that sounds weird but with my last two I just knew and I feel the same now, lots of pains and feelings in my lower ab and my skins gone greasy which happened both times too.
Did an ovulation test today and it was so strong - darker than the control line.

I'm confused! Hoping it's an early sign of pregnancy and maybe its just too early for a pt to pick it up yet!

EvelineUK · 17/09/2019 16:31

@Hewie30
Any diagnosis of pcos at all?

OP posts:
EvelineUK · 17/09/2019 16:34

@HarperJess
Depending on which OPK you are using, it should only pick up LH associated with a pre-ovulation surge, still not sure how HCG can give a positive LH as they are two different molecules....?

OP posts:
Hewie30 · 17/09/2019 16:54

@evelineuk Nah nothing! They checked my overies when I had my appendix out last year and said everything was ok

EvelineUK · 17/09/2019 17:33

Interesting, you seem to have a lot of circulating LH...

Hewie30 · 17/09/2019 17:47

@EvelineUK It's odd isn't it! Could it be anything else do you think?

Naibear89 · 17/09/2019 18:32

Hello @evelineuk - do you know much about progesterone levels?
