Hi everyone 👋

Can't see a May bus, so thought I'd start one up!

A little bit about me...

TTC: #1
Age: 28
Cycle: 5
CD: 5
AF/BFP due: 10th May

This cycle I'm making a real effort to take my pre-conception vitamins EVERY day and going to use Pre-seed this cycle too.

Come on in and share your stories, symptoms and if needed, vent to your heart's content... Grin

@MrsMck18

I’m in the tww and I hate it 😭

@tisonlymeagain my AF is also due the 3rd and all I feel is fat and bloated! Don’t put too much pressure on yourself if you’re just off the pill (same to you @NLouise123) it took me a while to feel like I had got back to normal after coming off mine last year!

Lots of luck to everyone x

Peachyx2505 · 25/04/2019 08:34

Wow everyone has been chatty! This is fab I can feel we are going to have lots of bfps in May 😍

Hi to all the new joiners. Fingers crossed for everyone as usual 🤞🤞

AF has buggered off so I'm cycle day 8 here and I'm going to start temping. There was no point of the last few days as my sleep has been very inconsistent. But now I should have a good week of taking temps at the same time each morning.

@Allhallowseve I'm taking folic acid and vit d. The other multi vits make me feel a bit ropey, but I think that's more to do with me than them 😂

Allhallowseve · 25/04/2019 08:37

Hi @melina81 welcome to mumsnet ! I’m sure you’ll find it invaluable on this journey. I’m ttc #3 and have used mumsnet since before my first. Hi to everyone joining . Hope there’s going to be lots of bfp’s for us in May!

MrsMck18 · 25/04/2019 08:55

@Allhallowseve I'm on folic acid. I bought the ones from Superdrug which have folic acid + vitamin D. They were only a couple of pounds.

When I went for my smear a few months ago the nurse asked if I was thinking about starting a family. She gave me the advice not to go for the expensive vitamins like pregnacare etc as all you need is the folic acid and vit D but the branded ones ramp up the price because of the brand.

@Melina81 welcome to the tread! Sending lots of positive vibes for you!

limesoda · 25/04/2019 09:01

@Allhallowseve I was prescribed high strength folic acid by my diabetic pre-conception team. The risk of birth defects is higher so they want you on that from the start (and my long term blood sugar to be in some kind of nearly impossible zone but I really am trying my best with that).

Other than that, a good multivitamin, mostly because I am veggie and want to be sure I’m covering all bases. Nothing else.

Melina81 · 25/04/2019 09:29

Thank you girls for all the welcomes and positivity:)

Im actually doing acupuncture with a fertility specialist (trying to fix a short luteal phase) and she has me in lots of (really expensive) vitamins.. i do feel a difference in a lot of aspects since started taking them..

tisonlymeagain · 25/04/2019 10:20

I know @mumofbun Trying to not to feel the pressure but we've given ourselves a deadline of Xmas so it's hard not to!

tisonlymeagain · 25/04/2019 10:22

Hi @NLouise123 I was on the mini pill for about 14 months. Came off it, had no withdrawal bleed and AF arrived about 30 days after. I started doing OPKs after that and I OVed around CD16 so this is shaping up to be more of a normal cycle which is a relief!

MrsC89 · 25/04/2019 10:29

Bloated feeling since last night in lower abdomen. Initially thought it was ovulation, but it's still there, very confused by my body right now! Feeling like AF is on it's way, but it's way too early!

Melina81 · 25/04/2019 10:44

Deadlines are difficult :( hopefully it will be more than enough time to get your bfp though..

Melina81 · 25/04/2019 10:46

Ops, meant to tag you there @tisonlymeagain :)

tisonlymeagain · 25/04/2019 11:19

Yeah @Melina81 it is difficult but we have our reasons. We are both almost 40 and don't want to be chasing after this for the next few years to the detriment of the children we already have (separately - at least we know there's no issues there!) so we decided to give it our best try until then and what will be will be.

Sleepyhead11 · 25/04/2019 11:31

@Paddypaws91 Wonderful chart, thank you x

Sleepyhead11 · 25/04/2019 11:33

@mumofbun thank you, yeah I can be obsessive too but also thought - stupidly - that I would be totally chill about this. (haha) I hope we both get luck this month x

Melina81 · 25/04/2019 12:09

@tisonlymeagain i totally get it and couldnt agree more... i am turning 38 and no kids, and have set some limits to myself too in terms of how much i will invest in ttc. As much as i want to be a mom, i love my life as it is and am scared of the emotional toll ttc could have long term.. im lucky in tje sense that i feel I'll be happy either i end up getting a bfp or not (which doesn't stop me from obsessing while trying for it though :)

MeganMama28 · 25/04/2019 12:53

@MrsC89 hope you feel better. I know its annoying when you don't know what it is! Try ginger tea? Meant to be great for bloating and general discomfort like that.

@allhallowseve I'm also just taking folic with vit d (boots own brand) and b12 but have now started taking iron now too.

Considering asking OH to start taking vitamins too - it's only fair haha! Not sure which ones he should be taking though, want to avoid big brands if poss. Any suggestions?

MeganMama28 · 25/04/2019 12:58

@Melina81 it's really hard not to SS isn't it?! I'm currently 9dpo and I havent really noticed any major changes but as soon as there is any inkling of anything its hard not to let your mind wander! Fingers crossed x

Melina81 · 25/04/2019 13:07

@MeganMama28 it so is :) i just try to think that most of my friends who had babies recently all said they had no symptoms before af was due, and even so it was so similar to af they couldnt tell.. so even if we do have symptoms we wont know what it is related to :/ at least you're so close to actually being able to find out..not long to go on the wait for you:D

Melina81 · 25/04/2019 13:14

@MeganMama28 not sure if it helps, but this is what my acupuncturist recommends for my bf to take (which he refused to do as he 1. Doesnt believe in acupuncture and 2. "Want to let things happen naturally for now " 😅)

Fertility Multivitamin
Ubiquinol (200mg a day)
Vitamin C (1000mg)
Omega 3s (DHA/EPA)

mumofbun · 25/04/2019 14:20

@Sleepyhead11

I thought I would be chilled too but totally not 😂😂

And now I think I’m getting sick/coming into hayfever season so have that to contend with too! I have an exercise class tonight I was really wanting to go to (trying to lose weight and get healthy) but I’m freezing and so stuffed up!!

MeganMama28 · 25/04/2019 16:05

@Melina81 that makes me feel better! I need to stop watching videos on YouTube about how people 'just knew' that they were /weren't pregnant at like 2DPO 😂 yes my OH is the same he doesn't really even care when I'm ovulating but I've just about convinced him to take vitamins to help him to be healthier "in general"! Will get those thanks that's super helpful.

Yes my Flo app reminded me this morning it's 6 days to go so not long left! Let's hope that the days don't drag as they have been so far in this TWW!

Paddypaws91 · 25/04/2019 16:38

I hate how my app says I have a "High chance" of getting pregnant today. I know it means highest chance compared to other days in my cycle, but realistically it's not a high chance. I would say a high chance would be 80 - 90%, but chances of conception are nowhere near that percentage wise.

Feeling very irritable at the moment, can you tell? 😂

Hi everyone!
I am 1dpo, fingers crossed for us all :)

TTC: #1
Age: 28
Cycle: 6
CD: 22
AF/BFP due: 8th May

tisonlymeagain · 25/04/2019 16:43

Yes @Paddypaws91 high on mine was 20% Hmm

Rubberyduck · 26/04/2019 08:22

Well I have had the most random month to date. Absolutely convinced I had ovulated days ago thanks to CM and thought I had missed dtd at ovulation. Been having really strong cramps for two days and really rather grumpy and irritable. Last night I got what I think is a positive opk on day 16. Never known to ovulate that late or have these strong central pains (usually left or right side). But we dtd so fx. Test date 5th may if I make it..... 🙈🙈 god I hate the 2ww. Goodluck all!!
