February Bus?!

PinkFizz19 · 05/01/2019 16:22

Hello all

Thought I'd start a February bus thread (sorry if there is one I've not seen). AF caught me off guard today after being 4 days late and hoping we'd caught lucky first time.

Statistics:
33, TTC 1, Cycle 2, CD 1

Came off the pill November so now I've had my first proper AF I think I may try OPKs this month.

Baby dust to everyone xxx

@Spottyyellowdress and everyone else who's not had a great time of it recently... I hope you are all doing ok and that things turn around for you soon. TTC is stressful enough as it is 🖤

My app informs me I have finished my fertile phase now, so I guess I'm officially in the TWW. I'm so impatient 😩 hate this time. I always say I'll be chill and not symptom-spot, but it's easier said than done.

HJWT · 23/01/2019 19:48

@Username28 tbh with DD I didn't do all this 2WW wait stuff and actually drank a bottle of wine 😩 ooops, she perfect though...

My cycles are a mess, before implant i had a heavy period for 5 days and this time round it's light and on and of for 7😩🙄 feel like ill never get pregnant at this rate.

Willowjasmine · 23/01/2019 20:02

Hi everyone, can I hop on please?
TTC #1
Cycle 11
Age 30

This month was my first on Clomid, due to PCOS, and due to ovulate on Monday if it works! Trying (and failing) not to get my hopes up! If I get my bfp this month, it would be just before DHs birthday and would be amazing to surprise him! No pressure...

HJWT · 23/01/2019 20:10

@Willowjasmine FX!!!!!! My SIL had to have that & had a beautiful DD& DS now 😁

Willowjasmine · 23/01/2019 20:22

@HJWT that's great! I love hearing the positive outcomes. I'm on the Clomid support thread too and although it's helpful it does highlight lack of successes. Loads of people in my family are expecting at the moment and it's making me feel quite desperate!!!

What cycle are you on?

CoachBombay · 23/01/2019 20:36

@Willow I'm also on a Clomid cycle, but only CD3 for me and I'm taking it 2-6.

I'm a bit unsure what's going on now though, my AF has basically come to an end on CD3! TMI but CD1 and 2 were heavy, bright red with clots so pretty sure it was AF!

Had a 28day cycle before this one, which is short for me so could that possibly be the reason for the shorter period?! So confused, AF normally lasts about 4 or 5 days. 🤦

Willowjasmine · 23/01/2019 21:17

@CoachBombay hi! Is it your first Clomid cycle? I had similar actually, my day 2 was the heaviest I have ever had - tmi but the most blood I have ever seen down there and loads of clots! But from 3 onwards was more like spotting. Have you had any side effects? I was ok until the last 2 days when I started having hot flushes like crazy!

CoachBombay · 23/01/2019 22:51

@Willow yes first cycle of Clomid, feeling a bit anxious about it, bit hoping for the best.

I haven't had any side effects yet, but I do take mine at night about 9pm so maybe I sleep through them? No idea 😳

Yes your AF sounds exactly like mine, how odd! Oh well I won't complain of it's just spotting from here on in for two or so days, easier to manage than the first two days!!

Spottyyellowdress · 24/01/2019 07:21

@willow @coachbombay really interesting to hear your experiences - I’m hoping that maybe clomid is my next step! Did you both have all the other diagnostic tests first?

bunhead34 · 24/01/2019 08:20

@Spottyyellowdress @CoachBombay @Willowjasmine same!
I'm getting my 21cd blood tests this month.
What cycle are you all on?

Spottyyellowdress · 24/01/2019 08:32

@bunhead34 cycle 18 for us. How about you?Just had hsg and they couldn’t get the dye through my left tube, so waiting for follow up. Absolutely terrified it’s some infection I’ve never known about or it’s something I’ve done that’s caused it. DH also has a varicocele so we’re really struggling. Just can’t see it ever happening.

Willowjasmine · 24/01/2019 09:24

@CoachBombay I took mine at night too after reading all the side effects! Think I've got away quite lightly really!

@Spottyyellowdress hi! I had several months of day 21 bloods which show i only ovulate 1/4 cycles. I have been diagnosed with PCOS a few years ago but have been scheduled another ultrasound just to double check. Also had prolactin bloods and DH had 2x semen analysis. Haven't had hsg consultant said he will do that if Clomid doesn't work in the next 4 months. It sounds unpleasant! Have they mentioned what's next for you?

@bunhead34 hi! We are on cycle 11 and first cycle of Clomid. Started having diagnostic tests sooner than a year because I wasn't getting any positive opks, and I have PCOS. Been quite lucky with my GP! Which cycle are you on?

Spottyyellowdress · 24/01/2019 10:05

@willow not yet, my next appointment is 7 weeks away! The wait’s killing me! Semen analysis came back with low count and only 8% motility so the chances aren’t looking good. Assumes I was fine, so finding this has been a shock.

Hsg wasn’t nice, but not painful at all - just an odd sensation.

Willowjasmine · 24/01/2019 10:58

@Spottyyellowdress 7 weeks definitely feels like a lifetime when you're ttc! My DH has low morphology, but they've said it's not impossible. I know what you mean about the shock. Although I have PCOS I was always told I have regular periods so I'm ok. Never even expected to be referred. The consultant was already saying in 12 months to think about ivf and I'm like whoa slow down!! Still hoping that it will just happen naturally by then!

bunhead34 · 24/01/2019 11:08

@Willowjasmine @Spottyyellowdress
I'm on cycle 8, I think I've been really lucky in getting tests this early on - my gp is really good!

UnicornsandRainbows1 · 24/01/2019 12:26

Hi guys, thought I'd jump on.

TTC #2
Cycle #2 (officially)
Age 28
BFP/AF due: 21st Feb?

Not sure what to say to introduce myself Grin Have 1 child (DD) who is 5 months and took a few pregnancies to get her so we're trying a little bit earlier than intended but we really wanted them close together anyway. I think having her has actually made us want another LO even more. 1st day of AF over here so here we go again 😣

CoachBombay · 24/01/2019 13:25

Hi @Spotty and @Bun!

Were on cycle number 9million and 2 it feels like haha! But we've been trying since Summer 2017 with not much luck and a missed miscarriage in September 2018. So we decided this year we would make a more concentrated effort to try and went private for Clomid.

My fertility is a bit of a mixed bag I have PCOS and annovulation, but I also have a genetic issue meaning half my eggs don't work!

So after some consultations and our reluctance/ability to pay for IVF with GDP, we have said we are happy to force ovulation and take the chance that the egg is viable.

The genetic issue I carry means no embryo is viable with life, so the outcome of catching an egg that survives is either a normal genetic embryo or a embryo that carries the same familial translocation. Which only effects fertility and nothing else.

Consultants decided that's fine we will just aim to produce the egg and see how it goes.

PyjamasForever · 24/01/2019 18:42

So having said I would be patient and rational about TTC I've now convinced myself I'm either pregnant or having some weird super late ovulation.

Basically I think I ovulated about 9 days ago, but I've gone back to having ewcm. So impatient and wish I wasn't over thinking everything!!

justchecking1 · 24/01/2019 20:52

@PyjamasForever that's exactly what's happening to me! Never had this before and I check CM every month. I'm sure I can see the faintest of faint lines on a FRER too. Have you tested?

PyjamasForever · 24/01/2019 21:00

I haven't tested yet @justchecking1, but I do have a frer sitting at home. I was going to try to wait until Tuesday when my period is due... but it's just so tempting!! Trying to tell myself that it doesn't change anything (except my bank balance!!) if I test now or then.

Sleepyquest · 24/01/2019 22:07

Can anyone recommend some ovulation tests please and how they work?

DinoGreen · 24/01/2019 22:34

With TTC my DC1 (which took 18 months) after the first few cycles I never tested unless my period was actually late - and my cycle length varied from 28 days to 34 so late for me meant really late! I know lots of people like to start testing at 10 dpo etc but for me it’s just too much anticipation/excitement/disappointment/hope that you’re just too early/repeat the next day etc!

@Sleepyquest last time round I used clear blue ones. I tried with internet cheapies but I found them confusing and could never tell if the line was dark enough or not. Clear blues are expensive but can’t go wrong - it’s a smiley face or it’s not! I’m only on cycle 1 this time round so not using them again yet but if I don’t get a BFP in the first few months I’ll probably start them again. With my varying cycle length they really helped - some months I was ovulating on day 12, sometimes not until day 16 or 17.

AIrwin88 · 25/01/2019 13:08

Hi ladies

I'm jumping on board too!
Ttc no2
Cycle 2
AF due 4th feb

Positive opk on Tuesday ewcm Wednesday with added cramping. Felt good last 2 days and trying SOOOOO hard not to get into symptom spotting. Did that last month and was so heartbroken when AF appeared. Have lots pregnant close friends and family and while I am so so excited for them it is a we reminder that I'm just not there yet. But this month is all about PMA (Positive Mental Attitude) or so I keep chanting to myself.
So over the dreaded tww I am planning on clearing out my cupboard and doing a general spring clean. My DD is turning 5 on 10th Feb so I am going to throw her a whopper of a party and generally do everything to try not and over think things.
I have put in my calendar for AF is due to book myself a massage or facial just to soften the blow should AF appear.
Ladies I hope you all get some BFP. Please keep me posted with your stories as I love reading them and it has been a huge comfort seeing you all support each other too. Aims x

wannabebump · 25/01/2019 13:12

Jumping on the Feb bus 🚌! AF turned up today (totally unexpected CD27...aaaah) so here's fingers crossed for Feb! X

emcrave · 25/01/2019 16:49

Hi, I’m hopping on please 👋🏻

TTC #2
Cycle 4 (I think)
Age 25

Im currently 3DPO and haven’t used any OPK’s this cycle (trying to take a more relaxed approach). I get quite bad ovulation pains so I’ve gone with that this cycle.

Af due Feb 3rd and I am definitely not testing until AF is late, I’m like clockwork! Just hoping we’ve done enough 🤞🏽
Good luck to everyone!
