We're very close to maxing-out our previous thread, so time to start afresh 🙂

To borrow the intro from @Blondcat (our old threads founder):

A wonderful bunch of ladies supporting each other through the ttc journey when trying for a first baby after 35.

Good luck all!! 🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻

Thanks @Russkispy 🙂 I was trying to remember if it was today that you were testing. Wishing you the best of luck for Monday 🍀🍀🍀

@BambiOnIce80 @Russkispy 🤞🥂🍾✨

Pinkywoo · 16/12/2018 11:05

Sorry about AF @BambiOnIce80 and @pattyhoo Flowers

Does anyone know which joint supplements I can take while ttc? I've got arthritis my feet (ex dancer) but stopped taking the boots cod liver oil a few months ago because of the vitamin A in it, but in this cold it's getting really painful.

CNizzle · 16/12/2018 11:12

@BambiOnIce80 @pattyhoo sorry about AF. You can celebrate xmas & new year with a tipple now, and maybe get some extra dtd sessions in over the festive period 😉.
Thinking of you @Russkispy 🤞
I'm just waiting for fertility friend to confirm o, but I reckon I'm 2dpo judging by opks & temp rise. AF due on boxing day. Ill be down at my parents by then.
Is everybody all sorted for the impending festivities? Any exciting plans?

PixieN · 16/12/2018 18:15

Just catching up with the thread. Welcome to the new posters and sorry to hear about AFs @BambiOnIce and @pattyhoo I don’t think i’ll be far behind as due AF in 2 days (though ovulated a little later than expected so Af might be late) and tested today (silly I know) which was bfn.

@Pinkywoo I was planning on starting to take cod liver oil tablets as my knee has been sore for a while now. Glad you said something as I didn’t realise you shouldn’t take it while ttc. Hopefully someone will be along with suggestions....

I really can’t wait to break up next week. We’re going to put our tree up tonight, and i’m tempted to have a glass of mulled wine and mince pie. starting to feel a little more festive 🎄 Smile

BambiOnIce80 · 16/12/2018 18:57

I'm a runner @Pinkywoo and I take glucosamine and chondroitin sulphate to protect my bones/joints. Both say consult a doc if pregnant, but that's because there's no information about what they may do to an unborn child (it's not because they're rich in vits A & E, if you see what I mean). I've decided I'll keep taking them and then stop if I ever get a BFP or when we do a round of IVF. Sounds like you should maybe speak to a pharmacist about safe alternatives though - surely the price of TTC shouldn't have to be you putting up with the pain! 😞

Yep, that's the plan @CNizzle 😉 FW should be between Christmas and New Year, so hopefully more opportunities to DTD than most cycles 👍 Think we're just about sorted for Christmas 🤶 We're back to it being just the two of us, all presents are in hand, cards have been sent and the butchers/Sainsbury's orders are in ✔️ Just got to make it through this full working week and then Christmas mode will be engaged! Fingers-crossed for a boxing day BFP for you 🤞🏻🍀

I bet you can't wait for the end of term @PixieN! 🎉🎉🎉 Two weeks off over Christmas sounds blissful right now! 😏 Sorry for the BFN, but I hope it's false and AF stays away.x

Pinkywoo · 17/12/2018 08:45

I'll talk to the pharmacist about it, thanks @BambiOnIce80.

Rachyrach83 · 17/12/2018 09:10

Hi there!
Can any bbt-era interpret this for me.
This is my first cycle with day 1 being ERPC surgery day for MMC..... no other ovulation signs at all....

Morning all. Sorry to hear about bfns and at afs arriving. Been for triple swabs and smear this morning, was ridiculously anxious and I'm not sure why. I've got an ultrasound in an hour so trying to fill my bladder. Also had my cd1-5 bloods back, all seems normal. I've been googling the levels but not told me much.

Had a nice weekend with dh, we went out and properly talked on Friday and acknowledged that we have been so busy that we have been neglecting time for us. Being able to talk has helped and we had a really lovely weekend together.

Got a bit annoyed with a friend though. She has been through infertility and they adopted their child. Since we got married this year she has periodically messaged asking if we have any news. She last did this a few weeks ago and I said that we would be going to the doctor for tests. So when she sent another message this weekend I got cross and said I've already told you that we're having tests. I find it really intrusive and I don't feel comfortable having to explain myself. I don't understand why she doesn't have more tact and sensitivity since she has been through a similar journey. She then went on to say that had tests and could find no reason so just to keep trying and it would happen. I haven't got the energy to discuss it with her.

Is everyone having time off for Christmas? Can't wait to break up on Friday. Dh and I have booked a couple of nights away after Christmas too. Fertile week this week, so hoping to just enjoy time together.

Have a good Monday 🌟

MrsRRC · 17/12/2018 10:29

Morning ladies,

Mum sent logged me out so I wasn’t getting any notifications and I have finally contracted Christmas Plague so am
super snotty.

My FW was early last week when both of our work Christmas Parties were, we did manage to DTD but I am fairly certain, not at quite the right time, coupled with this cold, I can probably enjoy as much Comte, Brie and red wine as I like.

6DPOish and trying not to symptom spot as usual.

Anyway, last week at work. Woot!

Kescilly · 17/12/2018 10:51

@VenusStarr I think it’s normal to feel anxious when you’re being examined. I hope you’re feeling more relaxed now.

Is your friend the sort that wants to share every detail of her own life? I have friends who shared a lot about their own TTC issues with me, and probably expected me to share with them as well. So she might think you want to talk about it all the time, because she did. Or not realize that you’re struggling with something if you don’t mention it.

Russkispy · 17/12/2018 11:02

It's BFN for me. Of course gutted but soldier on. Waiting to hear from the doctor. Think will have to wait for a cycle and then start IVF again since we don't have frosties.

Kescilly · 17/12/2018 11:43

Oh Russkispy, I’m so sorry about your BFN.

VenusStarr · 17/12/2018 12:34

I'm sorry to hear of your bfn @Russkispy ❤️

Thank you @Kescilly, at the time they were going through their investigations she wasn't open and I didn't ask anything unless she raised something first which she very rarely did.

Not long out of my scan - I have multiple fibroids which he didn't think would affect a pregnancy but he did say that although he couldn't see my tubes he wasn't certain that a couple weren't blocking the tubes which may obviously affect my eggs even meeting the sperm. So almost certainly will need a lap and dye test and he said some of the fibroids may need to be removed. Got a bit upset when I got in the car and phoned dh. This is tough :(

BambiOnIce80 · 17/12/2018 12:35

I'm so, so sorry for the BFN @Russkispy 😔💐 Sounds like you've already got your plan together for next cycle and wishing you loads of luck for that 🍀🍀🍀

@Rachyrach83, I'm not a temper so it all looks Greek to me! Sorry I can't be of more help.x

Sounds like you're cooking on gas with getting your tests done @VenusStarr! 😊 It also sounds like maybe your friend really wants to talk about her fertility issues and is just assuming that because she feels that way then you must too... could be worth a little "if there's any news, I'll let you know" message to try and get her to lay-off? I know what you mean though- it's stressful enough when we're TTC without someone bringing it to the forefront of conversation uninvited every few days 😣 Going away for a few days sounds rather lovely 🤩 Are you going anywhere nice?

Good news on the last week of work @MrsRRC (I'm very jealous!) 🎉🎉🎉 I'm getting the first three days of next week off and then it's back to work 😏 Better than nothing, of course! Fingers-crossed for good news at the end of your TWW 🤞🏻🍀

OP posts:
Russkispy · 17/12/2018 15:46

Thank you lovely ladies! Waiting for AF to fully start. And after it's gone then a shagathon time! Haha and if that won't work, then will start IVF again and will fly home from day 1 of injections, so I'm under full observation of my doctor. Till ET.

BambiOnIce80 · 17/12/2018 17:49

Urgh, so sorry @VenusStarr! I cross-posted with you earlier! 😥 That is a lot to take in 😔 It's probably not much comfort right now, but I guess this could be the reason why TTC is taking a while and once it's sorted out you'll hopefully have no barrier left in the way of conception 🍀🍀🍀 What did your DH have to say about the ultrasound result?

OP posts:
VenusStarr · 17/12/2018 18:02

That's OK @BambiOnIce80, thanks for your message. Dh was very good - as he always is! He listened and was pleased in a way that we might have a reason. But he's also still waiting for his sperm analysis in the new year - he is concerned that due to his job we may have some issues there (heat related). He was very calm and could sense I was panicking and catastrophising that I'm going to have surgery and they'll perforate my womb! Does anyone else jump a million steps ahead?! It's exhausting. He feels hopeful that if it is my tubes that it'll be OK because we can bypass them. Not sure I'm as optimistic at the moment but hopefully if we get more information it will help. Annoyingly I can't get to see the GP til mid January so this may take some time...

I've been very slow today and cried in the car on my way home from work - driving through tears isn't great 😥 going to have a nice bath tonight and try and do some self-care.

BambiOnIce80 · 17/12/2018 18:12

Oh, I'm awesome at jumping a million steps ahead @VenusStarr! 😂 I tend to fall into the "plan for the worse but hope for the best category" though. A realistic optimist, I guess 🙂 Your DH sounds like he might fall into that category too (very glad he's being a good'un when you need him 💖).

Enjoy your long, hot bath tonight and definitely take care of yourself.x

VenusStarr · 17/12/2018 18:24

@BambiOnIce80 ❤️🤞thank you x

CNizzle · 18/12/2018 07:32

Oh @venusstarr sorry to hear about your scan. My hycosy scan showed a similar thing with one of my tubes, said he could see the dye, but wasnt sure how it was passing through. Ive been referred for a laporoscopy too, and like yourself, i was very aprehensive. Might be worth going to chat with your GP if you need reassurance about the procedure.
In my eyes, at least if they find a reason for infertility, its not just bad luck & "unexplained" infertility; maybe we can proceed with fixing it.
I got my letter in for smear test this week, yay! Think im going to leave it to the new year now. Not sure about getting it done in tww and im off home to mums next week. Yikes. This year just flew in. In many ways ill be glad to see the back of 2018.

VenusStarr · 18/12/2018 09:21

Thank you @CNizzle, sorry to hear you're in a similar position Flowers I've booked to see my GP mid January, but I think I'll ring next week to see if I can get in earlier once they have my scan results. My dh is very much on your way of thinking. He's at work already and I messaged this morning to say I'm not feeling great and he was like 'why?' he believes now something has been potentially found we will get a plan and it will be OK. He's also 'if we don't have a plan it will be ok', I'm just feeling a bit lost.

Definitely try to book your smear before ovulation, that's what they said to me at the surgery.

I was so optimistic at the start of the year as we were getting married and had just started trying but am full of anxiety and dread for 2019.

Carley321 · 18/12/2018 20:34

Evening all. Just checking in. Haven’t had chance for a good catch up yet.

But sorry about the BFN. But on the plus side I guess you can make the most of eating and drinking whatever you
Like over Christmas!

I’m CD 3 here and my last cycle was just 31 days. So even though my flo is extremely light and short I am feeling a little more positive and have high hopes for next few 😁.

Hope everyone is going to get some time off over Xmas. Roll on Friday I say!

BambiOnIce80 · 18/12/2018 20:55

Excellent news on the 31 day cycle @Carley321! 🤩 The next few cycles are sounding very positive indeed 😊

OP posts:
QuantumGirl · 19/12/2018 07:45

Yay @Carley321 that is good news. Sounds like your cycles will be going back to normal soon. No ttc news on my side, my manky itchiness isn't getting any better and reading about the ointment I was given it's not recommended for use during pregnancy so I assume it's also not good for ttc even though I told the doctor I was ttc. Work Xmas do tonight and I am not sure how I'm going to survive with this itch. There will be some interesting moves on the dance floor 🕺🕺🕺😂
