We're very close to maxing-out our previous thread, so time to start afresh 🙂

To borrow the intro from @Blondcat (our old threads founder):

A wonderful bunch of ladies supporting each other through the ttc journey when trying for a first baby after 35.

Good luck all!! 🍀🤞🏻🍀🤞🏻

@kescilly 14th June so couple of weeks after you Smile

Carley321 · 10/12/2018 21:08

Evening all. Just catching up. Sorry some of us are feeling crappy, this journey is most definitely mind boggling to say the least, and the stress of it all makes me wonder if it will ever happen due to that alone! I’m a worrier at the best of times (All the time).

I’m the same with work, put it off and put it off and now i think.... how important was it all really?

I think the time of year adds to stress. I’m hoping a nice break from work and a having a merry old and stress free few weeks will be just what we all need!

@VenusStarr good news on the results, hope you are feeling better.

Gri80 · 10/12/2018 21:12

Hello Hello ladies...im not a first timer but over 35...can i join here?? a bit lost if you ask me but starting the same journey x

79andnotout · 10/12/2018 21:58

@PixieN - that video is great. Captures exactly how I feel. Also, my day started with me finding a mouse in that same position (head squashed in trap) this morning so quite poignant. Poor mouse but apparently the humane traps are even worse. They frighten themselves to death or pull their paws off trying to escape sticky pads.

Welcome @Gri80 - have you been trying for your latest long?

Gri80 · 10/12/2018 22:04

@79andnotout no, just left cerazette on Friday so like just waiting for it now

PixieN · 10/12/2018 22:53

Poor little mice Sad One of our cats likes to bring them in and let them loose around around the house which is an absolute nightmare! We’ve managed to rescue a couple though.

Hi @Gri80 welcome to the thread.

I’m driving myself a bit crazy symptom spotting ladies and need to get a grip. Only about 5dpo, but I had to have a nap on Saturday as I was so tired, wanted to eat everything in sight over the weekend and feel like i’m coming down with a cold. Surely, they’re symptoms right? Probably just feeling knackered in the run up to Xmas, but still... 😴😜😁

zaralouise · 10/12/2018 23:22

Hi I'm wondering if anyone could help, I'm not sure if this is the right thread to post this on so I apologise if not! I have irregular periods, I've always had irregular periods since I was younger and first started, I am also anaemic which can cause irregular periods! I didn't have sex at all last month (November) as my fiancé was away all month (he's in the army) and I got my period on time and it finished when it was supposed to! We had unprotected sex 1 day before my expected period this month (December) and I am now 5 days late... I was wondering what the chances of me being pregnant are and when I can do a test? I've been extremely bloated and sore boobs and also a red tinge to my discharge along with period pains, which made me think my period was on its way... but still no sign.. can anyone help? X

BambiOnIce80 · 11/12/2018 07:43

@PixieN you sound exactly like me at 5dpo this cycle! Absolutely thought I'd got the lurg, but 9dpo now and no sign of lurg developing so far... but no other symptoms to spot at all 😕 Boobs aren't nearly as tender as they normally are at this stage either, so I'm wondering if my dodgy, cysty right ovary is treating me to an annovulatory cycle this month 🤔😒 AF due Sunday (ish), so if she's late I think I'll be more "yep, annovulatory cycle" than "ooooh, fingers-crossed BFP" 🙄 Keeping everything crossed that your entering into BFP territory 🤞🏻🍀

Welcome @Gri80 👋 I hope you're body gets back into a rhythm after the BC quickly 🤞🏻

@zaralouise, irregular cycles make things a bit tricky to predict, but in a "normal" cycle we usually ovulate mid way through it and then it takes about 6-10 days for a fertilised egg to implant. If you did ovulate the day before AF was due and you're 5 days late it's unlikely an embryo would have implanted yet... but you never know! You want to wait until at least 14 days after ovulation to get an accurate pregnancy test result, so good luck to you 🍀

Kescilly · 11/12/2018 08:52

@zaralouise you might find better help if you start a thread about irregular periods, but you’re welcome here as well! Did you only have sex the one time this month? If that’s the case, then even if you happened to catch ovulation, you wouldn’t want to test for about two weeks. Are you using OPKs? I had slightly irregular cycles and used ovulation tests to give me a better idea of when to time sex.

Welcome @Gri80!

@PixieN and @BambiOnIce80 let’s hope you’re coming down with BFPs and not colds!

Carley321 · 11/12/2018 19:11

Keeping my 🤞that those are some serious symptoms and you both get a bfp for Xmas @BambiOnIce80 and @Kescily.

Kescilly · 12/12/2018 08:10

@Carley321 not me, I think you mean PixieN. I’m sixteen weeks along today!

BambiOnIce80 · 12/12/2018 09:36

Thanks @Carley321 💖 10dpo today and boobs are a bit more tender but absolutely symptomless otherwise (still thinking I've got a chance of this one being an annovulatory cycle 😏). Still. I've got my Christmas party with my friends tomorrow and the full drinks package (🍾🥂🤩), so think I'll POAS anyway. I know it's too early, but a BFN will be the green light for eating, drinking and being merry!

Carley321 · 12/12/2018 13:47

@kescily 🙈 that will teach me for not proof reading haha. I don’t know how I even done it, I usually copy and paste names when replying 🤔.

@BambiOnIce80 well you never know 😊. But either way you have a plan and a fun one at that. So drink and be merry, it is what a Christmas party is all about after all. Have a fab time 🥂

Carley321 · 12/12/2018 13:49

@Kescily I can’t actually believe how fast that time has gone though. Wow 16 weeks 😁

Rachyrach83 · 12/12/2018 14:05

Hi there
I hope I can join you ladies.
I’m Rachel, im 35 and married to my lovely DH for 7 months. I have 2 darling step-sons who are 5 and 9 and primarily live with us, and LOVE them dearly ... but it’s time to expand, I can’t wait to be a mum in my own right.

My story:
Cane off the pill in April (after I got into the wedding dress!!) and then had a very stressful 6 months as mum diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and court battle for the step-kids residency as their mum thinks her DV household is best for them. Luckily the judge didn’t!
Didn’t give TTC a thought.... until October 25th when I did PG test in Sainsbury’s Loo’s because I was 4 days late, and nearly fell off the toilet seat when saw the BFP!! I thought I was just stressed!

I was on antidepressants and Valium and immediately came off these.

Luckily (in one sense!) because of my anxiety issues I was referred to EPU for early scans. Unfortunately it showed my 7 week LMP date was showing a 5+1 baby with heartbeat.
At 8 weeks it was showing 5+4 baby with heartbeat.
At 9 weeks it showed a 5+5 baby but the heartbeat had stopped.
I had ERPC 2 days later. That was 12 days ago and now the bleeding has stopped and I’m started to feel myself again and wanting to TTC again.
My hcg levels have dropped from 33000 on day before ERPC and 2 days ago they are 194.

I’m taking melatonin 3mg, pregnacare conception and CoQ10 200mg.
Ive started temping (although it’s all over the place at the mo!) I’ve just brought pre-seed lube which looks fun!!

Anyway.... here I am! Xx

Kescilly · 12/12/2018 16:11

Hi @Racyrach83, welcome! I’m so sorry about all you’ve been through, especially your recent loss. Hopefully we can give you the support you need as you TTC!

@Carley322 that’s okay, it’s the sort of thing I’d do! 😂 I can’t believe how quickly it’s gone either. The first couple of months felt like an eternity but now time seems to be moving a bit too quickly!

BambiOnIce80 · 12/12/2018 17:56

Welcome @Rachyrach83 👋 It sounds like you've had a tough year 😔 Also sounds like you've got a firm plan in place (you're a woman after my own heart 😉) and I can certainly recommend fertility lube for making TTC less 'fractious'! 😳

OP posts:
Carley321 · 12/12/2018 18:17

I can see that by not copying and pasting I’ve also missed an ‘l’
I defo need the hols to come 🙈. I’m obviously in need of a break 😂😂.

@kescilly I bet it’s so (cautiously) exciting. Time goes so quickly the little one will be here before you know it.

Hi @Rachyrach83 I’m clearly the drip of the bunch today 🙈. I’m so sorry for the tough time you’ve had. It’s great you have a plan though.

Let hope we get a few more bfp on the thread soon 💗🤞.

BambiOnIce80 · 13/12/2018 07:55

As expected, it's a BFN for me this morning. Green light for drinking and being merry well and truly given! 🎄🍾🥂😄

Good luck to everyone else still in this month 🍀

zoomies1 · 13/12/2018 11:01

Thanks @BambiOnIce80 that's interesting. I had the mirena as well and was told that everything would go back to normal really quickly. Its the only reason I waited so long to have it taken out!

AF is here though so that's good news.

This cycle I am going to concentrate on reducing my stress levels.

My last message sounded a bit ranty - sorry about that. I think it was because I was stressing out about being stressed out with life at the moment. I want to start feeling Christmassy and relaxed already. I've only had one mince pie!

Pinkywoo · 13/12/2018 11:36

Despite saying this month was just for letting my body get used to not being on the pill, I am now symptom spotting with the rest of you, I think I've got mild thrush Sad is that an early symptom?!

79andnotout · 13/12/2018 12:44

Boo hiss to AF @BambiOnIce80 :( yay to party drinks though!

@Pinkywoo - thrush can be a symptom of something. I got recurrent thrush when my thyroid hormones were off. Not sure regarding pregnancy though.

@Kescilly - you're racing along! How are you feeling about it all now? Relaxed a bit?

@Rachyrach83 - wow that's a lot to cope with. TTC is rough going, so it would be good to get alternative coping mechanisms in place instead of the anti-depressants and valium. Are they both a no-no for pregnancy? I've taken SSRI's a couple of times in the past and I thought they were okay, but maybe the thinking has changed (or I was just wrong).

Emmz84 · 13/12/2018 13:35

Hi Guys,
I was wondering if I could join you in the TTC journey. ?
I’m 34 nearly 35 and have been following this thread for a few weeks now.

BambiOnIce80 · 13/12/2018 14:09

Sounds like you need more mince pies in your life @zoomies1! 😄 And never apologise for ranting on here- it's exactly what we're here for.x

Sorry for the thrush @Pinkywoo 💐 I used to get it all the damn time when I was a teenager, but that seemed to be down to the pill I was on not agreeing with me. Not sure if it's a preggers symptom 🤔 Fingers-crossed for you though 🤞🏻

Welcome @Emmz84 👋 Are you just starting out with the TTC fun? Plenty of support here to go around 😊

So. Lovely doctor lady just rang me to tell me my repeat prolactin is still borderline high, but the lab did some extra tests (macroprolactin) and it's not due to cancer so that's definitely a plus! 😳 High prolactin can cause infertility, but that's because it suppresses oestrogen and FSH and my levels are normal - so not my problem. Still no letter from the ACU, so caved and rang 4 days before the advised 8 weeks... No answer 🙄 Anyone would think they were busy or something! 😂 I've left a message, so hoping they'll ring me back... before the new year, maybe?! 😕

@BambiOnIce80 - i just phoned my clinic too. They're getting around to sending out appointments for next year. So, prob February before I get referred to ACU. Fine by me, just wanted to make sure they hadn't forgot about me! Patience is a virtue and all that Halo
