Hi @QuantumGirl - I get up at six during the week and usually 8 at the weekend and my temperatures are pretty good (unless I've had some booze and then they're always sky high). I always seem to ovulate the day after a positive IC opk done in the evening- I think about 12 hours later. Or the same day as a peak reading on the clear blue monitor in the morning.

I don't have reliable EWCM. It's patchy at most.

I'm struggling with exactly the same conundrum @QuantumGirl. They say ovulation may occur between 12 and 36 hours after a BFP OPK, but that's one hell of a window! On top of that, a BFP OPK doesn't guarentee that we'll actually ovulate - it just shows that we've had an LH surge that should cause us to ovulate 😕 Apparently the only way to absolutely be sure that an egg was actually released is to have an ultrasound to confirm it... Not sure if I can ask father Christmas for my very own personal sonograph machine for Christmas! 🤔🎅😒

CD17 here and had sharp right-sided pains on and off yesterday and to a lesser extent today. No flipping idea if or when I've ovulated given its the pesky, cysty right ovary 🤨 Oh well, we at least managed to DTD twice yesterday (no idea what'd gotten into DP!! 😳) so we've literally thrown everything we've got at TTC this cycle.

@QuantumGirl I didn’t temp but my apps never got ovulation right because they assumed some sort of regular cycle which I didn’t have. I used them to record rather than predict.

I just went based off of OPKs (I used the Clear Blue monitor) and tried to focus on before O rather than during or after.

Like @BambiOnIce80 I found the whole potential window too large. I only tested once a day, so I had no idea what point in my LG surge I was picking it up. Then there’s the 12-36 hours to ovulate, and I think they say something like twelve hours once you’ve ovulated? When you add up all the windows there is so much variability!

My cycle that was successful, we dtd on 0-2.

Hmmm... Just found this temping device from Boots that I've never come across before; has anybody got one? It's a fair bit cheaper than the ava bracelet and I could possibly be tempted if it's any good (especially if I could get it on a triple advantage points day!).

Hold on a minute- is it just me or is 'partner sharing' the most inappropriate (or liberal, depending how you look at it) wording to try and sell a fertility gadget?! Don't think DP would be up for being shared!! 😂🤣

Hope everyone is o.k. Just trying to catch up as we were away over the weekend with friends and relatives. Similar to you @LeonieKate - Lots of little ones running around. It does make me want my own, but then they start whinging, arguing etc 😁DH said we were seeing the worst side of kids lol. Still want one though. Must be the hormones

@Kescilly and anyone else who uses the cb monitor, I could really do with some advice. I’m on day 12 and it’s still showing low fertility Shouldn’t it be high by now? My app reckons i’ll ovulate tomorrow. I’m testing every morning at around 7.00am. Just tried a cheapie OPK and nothing on that either. I haven’t had the easiest month as work has been awful and some stressful personal stuff to deal with. Maybe that’s affecting things.

@Pinkywoo I’m prone to uti’s too so daren’t risk waiting too long before going to the loo after sex. I only had to consider smep and dtd once before my last uti, but I know stress can bring it on too which doesn’t help.

Hi @PixieN it’s entirely possible you may ovulate late this month if you’ve been a bit stressed (so don’t forget that this could push back AF too).

On my first month using the monitor I got highs on day 8-10 then my two peaks and a high and last month after my cp I got 4 days of lows then another 6 days of highs before my peaks. So it can vary a bit.

I’m due to start testing on Wednesday so will be interesting to see how it goes this month.

How frustrating that there is no definite DIY way to know that we actually ovulate.

Well I have just had a BFP OPK which is 6 days earlier than last month so I’m feeling positive about some normality returning in my cycles 🤞.

DP isn’t home yet.... but now it’s come to
It, why can’t I stop thinking that it’s so close to the festive period... do we have a break this month 😱. I can’t keep up with my change in moods these days!
Am I the only one?

Thanks @MrsRRC I read (googled) that it might take at least one cycle to get used to the cb monitor. I’ll just keep testing and hope I get some high readings soon. I’d be interested to know how you get on with yours.

@Carley321 my moods seem to be all over the place at the moment. I found my old diaries recently and think my 12 year old self would be surprised at how my life’s turned out lol. It’s kind of making me reevaluate what’s actually important and where I want to be.... Maybe I’m on the brink of some kind of midlife crisis 🤔😳😂

Oooh @Carley321, that is very, very good news about the BFP OPK 🤩 What CD are you now? I totally understand about the toing and throing - I was sacking TTC off for a kitten 2 weeks ago and now the hormones have hit and it's TTC all the way 🙄 I feel so fickle! Which is not what I'm like at all with everything else in my life!

@PixieN, I've got my 12YO me diary too 😄 My priority was to join the police, have a pet dog and marry Joey McIntyre from New Kids on the Block... I still want a dog at least 🐶😂

@BambiOnIce80 @PixieN ha ha it was Jordan for me!! And being a doctor! Maybe if I'd have stuck with the boy bands, rather than head off to try and find boys who played in bands to swoon over (Damon Albarn!) I might have made the career of choice!

I most certainly know that feeling @PixieN. It’s all very mind boggling. I just couldn’t get out of my head that I’d be missing out on so much food and festivities over Xmas!

Didn’t manage to DTD anyway.... i was fast asleep by the time DP got home. No amount of POsitve OPKs were waking me lol. These dark evenings and mornings are a killer.

Yay! I got my first high reading on the monitor this morning. Strangely excited as it feels like I’ve been waiting for it to change for ages!

@CNizzle impressed by your Dr aspirations. I was awful at Science (and hate the sight of blood), that option would never have occurred to me. I laughed when my GP guessed I was a biology teacher, as I was quizzing him about my progesterone levels and seemed to know what I was talking about - thanks to this thread and google!

These dark mornings and evenings are indeed a killer @Carley321 😏 I swear I have way less energy in the winter. CD19 definitely sounds like progress 😊 That 'things I'll be missing out on' train of thought hits me every single month! 😂 On the kitten front we have agreed that we're going to leave it until we've seen if IVF results in a bambino or not. If not, then there will be a puppy 🐶 If DP does a U-turn on this then he is clear that he will be homeless 😬

I still have a bit of a thing for QOTSA's Josh Homme 🤤 Never fancied being a doc though- I couldn't face going near sick people! Much prefer my job where I get to help people without going anywhere near them! 😄

Morning all. Sorry for posting then disappearing last week. I'm feeling a bit better about the counselling situation, still not heard anything from my GP one. I'll definitely look into private counselling - I'm in the Midlands so there's quite a few around. I actually work in mental health so I think sometimes I compare my situation to those of the people I support and think I'm overreacting.

Cd21 today (well cd19 for me) I have short cycles so ovulate quite early. Well at least I hope the blood test confirms I ovulate!

@BambiOnIce80 i was always a bit into the gore as a teenager. but i dont really do blood & guts. Although ive come to realise its not the yuk that i dislike anymore, it's the general public!! Haha
Should've done a physics degree and just gone down the technical side of my job (radiographer).
Still love a boy from a band. OH is a drummer, used to do quite well, and travelled over europe with a band, but doesnt have so much time these days. Think he'd drop it all in a heartbeat to go back.
Ive got an ultrasound today. This is my follow-on from the HyCoSy. To look at the polyp in my endometrium. Hoping its nothing. Have to decide today if i want to go on the list for laporoscopy to confirm if my tubes are patent, and msybe remove the polyp at the same time. I at least feel like things are moving forward currently.

@79andnotout @BambiOnIce80 @Kescilly Thank you for letting me know about your BBT and ovulation experiences. I'm pretty sure I also ovulate no later than 24 hours after a positive opk. @BambiOnIce80 I had a look at the boots thermometer you saw and 'partner sharing' in my opinion means your partner can also read the temperature (just like any other thermometer). This is what I call 'marketing shit'...anything for a sale 🙄

Today my OH's doctor's appointment (he made 2 weeks ago) was cancelled because the doctor's sick!

Is it possible to ovulate as early as cd9/10? I did my first opk on Saturday (cd11) and the line was nearly as dark as the control line but has been getting lighter each day, we dtd on cd10 though so could be in with a chance.

So I survived putting up a Christmas tree with my friends 2 and 5 year old the other day and am now broodier than ever, we've also just been informed by SIL that we're going to DP's nephews christening in May, which being sicilian will be MASSIVE! I keep imagining being pregnant by then but don't want to get my hopes up too much.

What's your usual ovulation day @Pinkywoo? Could be you had a surge then didn't. But saying that I do think I ovulate around day 11. Chatting to my sister last week, her cycles are 22 days and she has 2 little ones, she ovulates around day 9/10.
