Thanks cedar.... she hasn't told many people in the family about this as she is quite a private person. She doesn't have any fixed dates yet, is waiting to see if she can try this cycle (apparently only so many people can be "done" at her clinic each month?) Sorry, don't know any of the terms!

I hope it works for her.

Well I have started the injections they are not to bad just sting a little bit. Dh got the results from the 2nd sperm test and with in 2 weeks of giving up smoking and eating a bit better the motility has gone up from 32% to 72%! which is great. Dh couldnt believe it he only use to smoke 5 fags a day. Still might have to have icsi as mars test wasnt great which is sperm antibodies I think and appartently you cant do much about this as it caused by injury. But they will decied on the day so fingers crossed we will only have to have ivf.

Hi cedar - Thought I would pop in and say hi, since I saw you on that other thread. Fingers crossed for you with the IVF!! Great news about your DH's motility improvement, just from small changes. It's worth mentioning to people I think, because some people poo-poo the idea of dietary changes!

Well, I had my referral today, and consultant wants me to have the HSG. Fingers crossed I conceive before that. But after all this time I am not optimistic!

Can anybody help not sure what to do after the egg transfer. I work part time as a nurse in elderly care not sure whether I should have the time off work or not. I only work 2 shifts a week but we are very short staffed at the moment so it very busy and stressful at the moment. But feel guilty for have more time off work as I have had to take some off for appointment etc. What has anybody else done?

Hi Cedar. Just want to say that you really should try not to feel guilty about taking time off work, if that's what you want to do. You need to feel psychologically that you're doing the best you possibly can for a positive outcome, and if that means taking it easy at home, then go for it. There's no special evidence to say that doing absolutely nothing during the 2ww helps particularly, but I'm sure resting does, and if your work is stressful and physical, then I really would take the time if you possibly can. (I'm going for FET in August, btw) Good luck.

cedar12 · 30/07/2007 09:11

Good Luck for august. I know I shouldnt feel guilty but we are so short at the moment and I have only told the ward sister about the ivf so I think I will just have to invent a bad back to get out of things at the moment.
