ready but am trying to find a willing truckie to lay bamboo trail up the M6.(I hope that is your direction!)

Well I think we all deserve a platinum star. look at all of us remembering to temp this morning!

been to docs, who was as expected v unhelpful about tiredness and just agreed with all the possible things it could be caused by! HOWEVER he did just say, right lets do some tests as you have been trying for nearly a year. Firstly for CLOMIDIA!!! If that comes back positive questions will be asked . Unless it is something that can lie dormant for year and years - don't remember GCSE biology much, in which case have only known DH for 5 years.

Sorry rambling as always....

He also gave me forms for CD21 and CD2-4 blood tests and wants hubby to go and get his swimmers checked!! that conversation will go well tonight .

Still might as well. Again seemed to think that it did not matter when I ovulated or how long LP is jsut blood has to be on CD21. SURELY it must matter!!!!!!

SOOOO still in BD phase, as temp low and not +OPK yet. EWCM been and gone though.

Right must eat!

nomoremagnolia · 03/07/2007 14:18

Chlamydia can be 'dormant' for years (as in it doesn't have symtoms) but can cause fertility probs/infertility.
My GP also insited that ov was 14 days before cd1, so on a 28 day cycle (which I had the previous 3 cycles) a day 21 test would be 7DPO. I think my lp is 10days, so ov was on cd 20 this cycle (this one was 30 days) and cd21 was only 1DPO (poss 2DPO) But what do I know about my own body?

RahRah1 · 03/07/2007 19:48

Hi guys

Rainbowdays - I am so sorry. wished you still lived in Leamington so I could give you a real life hug... Life is pants and so cruel sometimes! GRRRRRR... Wish I had something to say to make you feel better, but I know you have to work it out in your own head. Love you lots and sending you hugs instead..{{{{HUGS}}}}

Thanks everyone for your messages for my appointment - I was so nervous. Well we have our names down for IUI in 4 months... but without any fertility drugs to support it. The consultant felt that the drugs could result in a multiple birth and because Bertie was born so prematurely they want to try firstly without any drugs to avoid any risks of twins etc as I am already classed as high risk in pregnancy.
So I am going to kick back for 4 months and try and relax and then go for the treatment. They inject the sperm directly into the womb through a straw! Sure its a bit more technical than that but sounds like fun ....

Plus he reviewed all my test results and he confirmed that they definitely cant find anything to warrant another pregnancy going wrong.

So everything was really positive... MEGA fingers crossed that he is right in everything he has said (I lack a bit of trust with the hospital, but hopefully he can restore the faith!)

Rah - so pleased that the appt went so well, and great that you have got a plan in action. Hope you enjoy the relaxing, I assume that means that you will also continue not temping? Thank you for your kind words. It is strange but I am already feeling much brighter, I thought I would be in for a rough time physically and mentally, but it has been nothing more than a normal period just with a few small clots only, I don't know why I thought it would be so dramatic! I am only not looking forward to the uncertainty of the next af as I know it could take longer to arrive etc.

Minxi - are you now in the 2ww?

Hi to everyone else

RahRah1 · 04/07/2007 10:00

Rainbowdays - Thanks for your message...I don't think I will be temping, however I have taken my temp for the last couple of mornings to see if I have ovulated and I had a temp rise this morning... So I will take it tomorrow and if it has still remained high then I will stop taking it until next month. I find it much more relaxing, but can not let go totally
I am glad you are feeling a bit brighter, But we are all here for you if you feel low. I don't have any advise in terms of the physical side, hopefully your AF will come back pretty quickly. Especially since you did not need a D&C (Phew!) Mine came back just after 6 weeks with Bertie, so fingers crossed.
I will make sure I log on more just in case you are about.... want to make sure my pal has someone who's listening if she wants a rant! You take care of yourself and sending lots of hugs and kisses XXXXX

Hi to everyone else... hope all is well..XX

Hi wonkoswife - welcome
Hi littlesoldiersmummy - I've only just started temping, so I'll leave it to the experts to fill you in!

Thinking · 04/07/2007 19:18

So sorry for your loss, Rainbowdays/Mum03
RahRah1, glad your appointment went well. I know a lady at my work who got pregnant first time with a single baby with their first IUI.

NappyValley, Hope the tests go well.

Welcome wonkoswife

HI Guys

Welcome to all the newbies...

Everyone on here are very helpful and friendly & Supportive..

Hope you don't mind me asking but what are your backgrounds? Do you have any children already and how long have you been trying etc???
I'm nosey!

I have been trying for 32 months in total, but have had one pregnancy in that time that we lost at 24 weeks. We have now been placed on the waiting list for IUI, so I am going to try and relax for a few months until the treatment becomes available. I have not been temping for a month as I needed a break, but now on my 2ww. (Post ovulation)

Is there anything you guys need to know to get you going?

nomoremagnolia · 04/07/2007 19:42

Hi Rah, I'm 29, DH 28, married 5 years! We've been ttc baby no.1 since Jan 06 with no joy whatsoever. Have had gp tests, DH has low morphology (3%) and according to my CD21 blood tests I didn't ov, although I believe - from temping before - that I don't ov until CD18/19 (got temp rises on CD19/20). Been referred to hospital and now waiting for an appointment. That's about it

RahRah1 · 04/07/2007 19:43

Thanks Thinking - He is refusing to use the drugs in case I have a multiple pregnancy, which I pointed out would happen naturally (my aunt and uncle are twins), but he said because Bertie was so premature he was not willing at this stage to put me at more risk. But once we are on the list etc, we can talk him around if a few of the treatments fail. He said that treatment is less successful without the drugs, but I am thinking it must have good chances as they take the best sperm and inject it directly into your womb at the critical time. It must heighten the chances! I suppose it all depends on the quality of the egg that month. I swear it a miracle the human race reproduces at all!

RahRah1 · 04/07/2007 19:51

nomoremagnolia - My hubbie has a higher rate of abnormal sperm, but when I spoke to the consultant the other day he said it was not concerning and very questionable whether it effects fertility. I was really concerned that this was the cause of our infertility, but it just seems to be a case of bad luck!
I went to see a consultant who scans and he diagnoised me with PCO, but my fertility consultant said that that was not relevant either, as they were only borderline and was adverse to giving me clomid. (infact he was quite annoyed I went and got scanned again for a second opinion)
we started trying about Jan/Feb 05, and fell in June 06. So it can just happen after 18 months! God knows why it took us so long??? We have been trying again for 8 months and again nothing! My consultant has said that there is no reason why we can't catch, it is just a matter of time. Seems like a few of us have been getting that answer.

I also ovulate around the 18/19, so we have a pretty similar cycle. When did you get referred to your clinic. It did not take that long for us to get referred initially. I think it was around 3 months

Welcome welcome to the newbies.

To get started you need a BBT (basal body teemperature) thermometer - boots sell them. The website Thinking suggested is great and you can join for free. Basically you need to take your temp first thing in the morning (before you do anything else) so I sleep with my thermometer under the pillow.

A few abbreviations that took me a while to get are...
BFP - big fat positive
BD - baby dancing/ baby days/ sex
AF - period
CD - chart day /cycle day - CD1 is first day of period
OV - ovulation
LP - luteal phase - the bit between OV and AF
DPO - days past ovulation
OPK - ovulation predictor kit

That is about it I think and please correct me gals if I have any of those wrong.

NomoreMag thanks for bio.

Rah - well done on appointment, glad there is a plan in place. I know what you mean it does seem amazing that the human race continues at all!! The odds are so stacked against us. I hope that the IUI narrows those stats down and you crack that egg without drugs.

ps I am the one that rambles the most!!
