becklespeckle · 20/04/2007 20:03

Hi Jhyesmum - how goes it? Did you know that stress can cause delayed ov? That could be what's going on for you at the mo, you have had a lot on your plate. How is everything?
I just had to read your bit twice, "I think you are chick" - kept thinking "who is chick?" Duh! do hope so though!
Hope everyone else okay - have a fab time out tonight with your bag Scorpio

Lexie100 · 20/04/2007 21:13

Just read this wich might explain why people with short DPO keep getting BFN and then get a BFP

"hCG can first be detected by a normal blood test about 11 days after conception and about 12 - 14 days by a urine test".

Well my DPO will be 14 tomorrow. Might explain a few things.

waiting4bambino · 20/04/2007 21:36

Hi all, having posted in a while, but having been reading every night as a catch up. AF due in 5 days, got strange niggly pains in my belly today and heavy feeling where ovaries are etc, so i think she's on the way. I'm gutted , this was the most effort this month that i've ever put in!
A final question before i wallow in my misery, when you get a + on the opk, does that mean you should do it from then, and that you are going to ovulate a few days later, or does it mean you are ovulating at that time? Thanks all....

Lexie100 · 21/04/2007 09:07

I'm no expert but i think it means you have 24-48 hours to have as much BD as possible . Check on the instruction leaflet as mine did tell me but forgotton.

LMP 28th March
OV 7th April
DPO 14 (4 days longer than ever)
CD 25
AF 4 days late

Still got BFN this am.

I'm going to be in a really BAD mood till AF arrives. I'll test again on monday if she's still not here.

Hope there is some good news out there today.

tigerschick · 21/04/2007 09:37

Morning Ladies.

W4B - I'd go for it over the next couple of days if I were you. The egg will live for a little while and, well, what have you go tto lose?

Lexi - Sorry about your bfn. Hope you get something soon, even your af would be better than limbo, surely

All others - morning, hope you have a good day

becklespeckle · 21/04/2007 11:13

Morning all, sorry bout the BFN Lexie but you know what they say - it's not over til the fat lady arrives...
Waiting4Bambino - keep trying just in case hun, it might be late ov. I had cramps at the beginning of the week and niggles at the end of last week and my AF was due today or tomorrow
BUT
I did another ebay cheapy test this morning - line still took a couple of minutes to appear and was still very faint. So (naughty me) did the clearblue I have been saving too - and got BFP!!! I must still be very early as it took a minute to appear but it was definitely there before the line in the control window and it was nice and fat! (dipped it rather than peed on it though so don't know if that makes a difference? Had to dip it for 10 secs too as nothing happened after 5 - you can usually see the pee creeping across can't you). Apart from the thrush (which I only ever get when first pg or after AF) and sore boobs I don't feel pg but then don't usually get any sickness or anything til 8 weeks or so. Is it daft to still worry the tests are wrong???

tigerschick · 21/04/2007 11:28

Well, Beckle, I didn't believe the tests either. When you dip, don't you have to leave it in for longer anyway? Are we allowed to congratulate you yet?

plummymummy · 21/04/2007 11:33

Hope it's good news beckle. Maybe test again just to be sure? Fingers crossed

plummymummy · 21/04/2007 11:38

This period is quite cruel because symptoms are unlike usual ones. Blood not usual bright red - sort of rasperry mixed with brown (sorry if tmi)and I have what looks like colustrum in my nipples. No cramps so far. I suppose it could be just late starting. I don't see how it could be anything other than a period though as the brown/pink discharge is too excessive I think to be an implantation bleed.

becklespeckle · 21/04/2007 11:56

tigerschick clearblue says to dip for 5 secs, ebay cheapies say 10 secs. You can congratulate now! Only going to tell a couple of v close friends in RL as lost last one - missed m/c at 5 weeks but didn't know until 11.
Plummy poor you with an awful AF, only thing I can say is that mine are usually always the same but every now and again I do get a strange one. The other thing is that I had a lot of bleeding through my pgs (esp with DS1) - if you are pg it is not always bad news.
I think I will prob sneak out and buy another test later (without telling DH ) and I have 1 more ebay cheapy left.

becklespeckle · 21/04/2007 11:56

am pretty scared of m/c again TBH

cheechymunchy · 21/04/2007 12:02

Hi everyone. AF arrived this morning. I'm still holding on to a very small hope that it isn't, as the bleeding isn't quite as strong as usual and temp is still high (I thought it dropped when AF arrived).

Will keep checking, but will probably join TTC May...sigh. Well, Mum, brother and I all conceived in May so maybe next month's supposed to be the one.

Looking forward to a glass of chilled white this evening!

plummymummy · 21/04/2007 12:17

Congrats beckle

cheechymunchy · 21/04/2007 12:24

Beckle, fantastic news!! Thrilled to bits for you - take care and look forward to seeing updates on MN. x

Lexie100 · 21/04/2007 15:08

Beckle that is wonderful, congrats .

Cheechy - so sorry.

I have no tests in the house so can't be tempted

Lexie100 · 21/04/2007 15:09

OH Plummy - do you think it's a very early M/C?

Lexie100 · 21/04/2007 20:23

Is there anyone left but me???

plummymummy · 21/04/2007 21:37

Lexie, I don't think so as the test I did today was negative and I think if it was a m/c that hcg would still show up. I think it's just a weird period tbh.

plummymummy · 21/04/2007 21:38

Plus I can't bear to think of a 3rd successive m/c

I'm still here too! AF due on Wednesday, going to a party Monday. Have been so teetotal lately that i'm just going to have a little drink anyway.... Perhaps it will cheer me up and numb the AF pains i think i have!

Morning All - there are enough of us left to be classed as 'all'!

Beckle - Congratulations. Sorry for the delay, I was out yesterday until late.

Everyone else - I've got my fingers tightly crossed for you all.

Hope you all have a good weekend
