Morning everyone!
Boobylicious - best of luck to you and of course everyone else (goes without saying really).
Noticed last night and this morning that my boobs are really heavy, but this is probably because AF is due on the 8th, however I don´t normally have this feeling a week before. Fingers crossed.

tigerschick · 03/05/2007 09:59

Morning All

Boobylicious - fingers crossed for the next cycle.

Soph - sounds interesting, at least you don't have long to wait to see - but I'm sure it will feel like an eternity!

Well, I had a great time shopping tho dd was a bit bored. I got 3 tops, 3 'bottoms', and a dress and I spent less than half of my money But I seem to have scared the summer off as it is cold adn grey here today (btw - M&S have got t-shirts 3 for £10 in loads of colours and neck lines - cheaper and better quality than dp or bhs! - God, I sound like a rep )

MrsMcJnr · 03/05/2007 10:18

Sorry to all those for whom AF has arrived! Better luck this cycle! Let?s get those BFPs coming in! whose the next to know either way? I?ll know (either way) next Tues/Weds.

PlummyMummy ? sounds like you?ve been putting lots of effort in this cycle, best of luck to you

Scorpio ? I hope you are feeling much better Watch out with those meds, some will ?dry you up?? sorry, I probably know that just felt I had to remind you! Maybe you are going to OV later this cycle hence the lack of EWCM now. If you BD the night before, you can probably be sure by 12 the next day that what you are seeing is you and not ?the boys?. There are other ways of telling the difference like dropping the stuff in water and seeing what it does (EWCM) doesn?t dissolve but I think the 12 o clock rule is probably easier Enjoy your ?date? on Sat.

Tigerschick ? enjoy your spending spree At least all tops bought at the mo can be used for pregnancy too!

Awen ? I have sizes in my wardrobe ranging from 6 to 14! 14 being my current size 6 being just after a break up and not the real me if you like but I would love to be back to my ?happy? size which is 10/12. Starting back at my slimming class with a vengence on Sat. After the MC, I put on ½ stone as I just couldn?t be bothered with much positive thinking and turned to food How are you feeling hon?

Soph73 ? baby dreams are lovely. I always seem to keep my baby on the top of my wardrobe in dreams, don?t know what that?s all about! How could you forget about holidays? I live for them!

Hey Bobbydazzler I haven?t seen The Queen yet seen Casion Royale though (monkey?s head but lovely legs ?mmmmmmmm) Enjoy the action! Best of luck with the GP, be forceful and tell him its been over a year of plenty of unprotected sex at least 3 times a week. Know what you want the outcome to be and push for it. Imagine you?ll be able to submit samples after the initial appointment. Hope that helps.

How you doing BabyMamma?

Flumpytigger ? I know what you mean, it is tiring!

Wheely I hear you! I?m only 7dpo and imagining all sorts, I should know much better than this!

Hello Rattling

Hello alittlebitshy ? good luck for June

Hello Boobylicious ? hope the medium is right!

Just wanted to share a bit of knowledge with you all, hope you don?t find this patronising your egg is only around for a very short period of time over OV. In order to improve your chances of conception, you need to make sure that there is sperm present in the cervix before the egg is released as well as trying to time things for the day of OV itself and the day after (because we don?t know exactly when we OV in a day). When you ?store? up the sperm, you can potentially get pregnant from sperm acquired up to 5 days before but it is essential to the survival of that sperm that they have a suitable medium to live in. That is why watching CM is so useful. Sperm cannot live or swim in the sticky or creamy stuff but they can survive in the EWCM and use it to swim to the egg in. Therefore EWCM (or the wettest CM you get) is really important to the process. Over the last 10 months of TTC, I have realised that I don?t produce much EWCM. This may be due to the fact I was on the pill for 18 years and it can affect the ducts in your cervix that create EWCM. I know I used to get lots in my early 20s and wonder what the hell in was! In any event, if I do not have EWCM in those crucial 5 days before OV, I use PreSeed which as a sperm friendly lubricant that apparently mimics the functions of EWCM. Some experts in this area also suggest using real egg white. The reason I know when those 5 days are is because I take my basal body temperature every morning and chart that and my CM (which changes from sticky to creamy to EWCM as you build up towards OV). After a few cycles of doing this, it is easy to see a pattern. I know that I OV between cd16&18 in my cycle even though my cycle is 28 days long. Before I knew this, I assumed OV would be cd14 and I was therefore missing the most crucial days for me, hence no BFP. I would also add that the cycle I did get my BFP (sadly MC at 10 weeks in March) my chart was a perfect example of what it should look like if you get pregnant and therefore I am a real believer that charting works! Sermon over! Happy to share any knowledge I have with any of you! By the way some people get EWCM again after OV, its not the return of fertility its just a chemical reaction between the hormones.

flosspot · 03/05/2007 10:25

Morning all- crikey, you miss a couple of days and the thread zooms on! Congrats goingfor3 and Awen. Fingers crossed it'll be us soon!!!

Tigerchick- was diagnosed when trying to donate eggs years ago now, so knew we might have TTC issues. Because it was on my notes, got referred after a year of trying to local Gynae. department. Sadly they aren't as on-the-ball as my GP and I invariably come out of meetings in tears! I think if you don't know you have PCOS, your GP will refer you after two years of trying.

Meto- puppy is Jack Russell, 9 months old and a full time job!

Flumpy-out of steam? There was never any steam to start with. We are once a fortnight people, but the only time we BD these days are when the calendar says so. It's killing us- have to make deals with each other and we are only 18months in.

Soph73 · 03/05/2007 11:16

MrsMcJnr - wow, is there anything you don´t know I wish I´d known about this site when we were trying for ds. It´s just suddenly dawned on me that I know next to nothing about what´s going on downstairs . I wonder where the baby on the wardrobe came from?! I´m sure some psychologist somewhere could come up with some bizarre explanation

Flumpy - I also know what you mean, however, it´s normally dh that is more tired than I am. My job isn´t exactly taxing on the old grey matter so I seem to be up for it more these days than before but that can be very annoying in itself when you know you´re not going to see any action

scorpio1 · 03/05/2007 12:59

Hey
the magic CD14 here
im at uni typing this supposed to be working on my assignment...

Tiger-things are fine, he just has a lot of work on, lol at manner to which ive been accustomed. an african rugby player friend of my parents has offered my dad 6 camels for me-is that alot do you think??

I havent been on antibiotics for a month now so it wont be affecting me by now.we have been doing it ALOT though, and a few days i ago i did notice the milky stuff.what i have now is white but a bit stretchy, so its probably all mixing in!i am not getting worried about it this month-as long as i am doing it i am happy

Everyone else ok??

Scorpio 6 camels sounds like a reasonable offer but I suppose it depends on the quality and age of the camels What part of Africa is he from? I've been propositioned a few times by Nigerian men who say they are Kings in their country and if I marry them I'll be a Queen. Somehow I managed to resist and stick with dh who is distinctly unroyal but totally gorgeous

tigerschick · 03/05/2007 13:15

6 hmm? Well these look quite cute! So maybe 6 is quite a good offer

Forget where in Africa - What position does he play? You wouldn't want to be stuck with some huge prop! (or maybe you would, who am I to judge )

Flumpytigger · 03/05/2007 14:47

Hi,

Scorpio I agree with plummymummy, 6 camels sounds a reasonable offer. Especially if they are as cute as those Tigerschick posted. Bless

Mrs McJ I love your posts, you're so thoughtful. You're also extremely Knowledgeable; I know where to come whenever I have a specific question

Thanks Soph73, Flosspot and MrsMcJ it's a relief to know that I'm not alone in running out of steam! It's not just me now either in that DH said to me last night 'we can't have sex tonight you know, I'm too tired & I've got a headache'! That's normally my excuse! So that made me feel really unwanted/rejected and even more poo the fact that we've bd'd 3 times since friday and he's like this already!

I'm only just on CD14 and no sign of this CM everyones talking about, so we've still got a long way to go!

Also just been out on my lunch and got stopped and asked to complete a survey. The womans first question was....... yep you guessed it 'Do you have children'........ aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah

Right I better stop moaning and get on with some work..

toodle-pip for now
xx

bobbydazzler · 03/05/2007 15:22

Afternoon all,

Mrs Mcj your posts are so lovely and personal and the info re the CM was interesting. Although I have now been TTC for nearly a year I really haven't got the hang of doing anything other than trying to BD as much as possible throughout the month.

I am not (yet)into all the charting stuff.

Have decided that I will give the charting a go if I go past the 12 month mark (please no)and assuming that my tests that I will be hopefully wringing from the GP later this month come back ok.

I would say that this month has been the most consistent for me and DH with BDing, in previous months one or other of us have been away at crucial times, we have been too tired e.t.c e.t.c, but we can't say that has happened this month. Also I have given up caffiene (tea, coffee only, still eat choc!)so we will see ........

Just one question for Mrs McJ or anyone who can answer for when or if I need to step up a gear in the TTC campaign, where do you get pre seed from?

Mrs McJ's post got me wondering whether I used to produce alot more CM than I do now .

Have a good bank holiday everyone. DS and I are off to visit my folks while DH is doing a charity bike ride, last BD until AF's arrival (or hopefully non arrival) is therefore tonight

sweetkitty · 03/05/2007 15:48

hi ladies sorry not been around much the last few days with decorating and moving the pc. Not much to report here still waiting on AF to arrive so we can start ttc for real so to speak. I love reading all your stories I wish I had known about mumsnet when I was ttc DD1. I remember the horrible feeling every time AF arrived, the opks, the bursting into tears in Mothercare and to top it all of I had a very early miscarriage about 3 months into ttc and then the woman across from me at work announced she was pregnant and her EDD was 2 days after mine of course I couldn't even say anything as no one knew we were ttc.

Interesting stuff about the ewcm, I definately get it around ovulation and get ovulation pains as well for about 2-3 hours on the one side each month.

My ttc background for the DDs was completely different, with DD1 it was 9 months including BD-athons, charting the whole works. Of course it was coming up to Christmas and I was going away for the weekend so DP and I had a quickie and I thought oh well it's too early (I ovulate late too about CD16-18) but you know the next day I just knew I was pregnant didn't have to do the test. All it took was that one quickie that month.

With DD2 we decided to ttc no 2 but DP was moving back to Scotland a month before me so we had a "goodbye" and you know that next day as well I just knew. I remember buying those cheap ebay tests the day before AF was due. AF was due on the Friday so I tested Friday morning, negative, tested Saturday morning negative, tested Monday still no AF still negative so I went and bought a Clearblue digital and it was positive, DP thinks he has supersperm now as I got pregnant first attempt, so this time who knows..................

So I think what I am saying is don't give up, fingers crossed we all get there in the end.

Better go DD1 is wanting to play hairdressers!

wheelybug · 03/05/2007 15:58

Hi All - Bobby I think the cheapest place to get pre-seed is access diagnostics . They do various packages where you can get free OPKs and HPTs if you really want to stock up !

Scorpio - can sympathise with OH working late - I consider 9pm an early night if DH is home from work - sigh.... and we wonder why we're still ttc . I think 6 camels isn't too bad either unless they're these sort

Good luck Flumpy now you're 'in the zone'.

MrsMc - Had a think about your dream and I reckon its something to do with you feeling babies are out of reach (that's not bad dream analysis is it ??).

Waves at Meto - How you finding the 2WW ??? I have every symptom going (but think I do every month before AF ).

scorpio1 · 03/05/2007 16:40

so everyones impressed with my camel offers then!! south african i think. he is a prop forward, but OMG..... [sigh] . he is a very dirty boy anyway and i dont want to get involved in such things!!

forgotten who asked but u get pre-seed from accessdiagnostics.com, cheap

Dp is actually home at half 6 tonight, so im really happy.we are getting along so well at the moment.last time ttc we actually grew further apart, but this time we are getting so close.

HE HAS EVEN ASKED TO BOOK OUR WEDDING

i am not moaning!

So, i have a question. do some of you have a name for your baby to be??i do, but dp won't hear of it.its quite different, but then so are our 3 childrens names and i want them to all be the same IYKWIM.so??

scorpio1 · 03/05/2007 16:41

oh and it was 4 chickens as well as the camels....god im so hot, lol!

meto · 03/05/2007 17:50

hiya all. sorry it's a quicky from me inlaws down still.

so far i'm 4DPO, actually check that i'm not at all i'm 5DPO. and i'm soo tired. feeling v v hormonal and wanting to cry about everything. so think AF's on her way either that or it's cos i'm so tired (I do cry out of frustration when tired)
