Morning all

Scorpio - sorry about your cold, hope it doesn't stay too long. I've often wondered about the cm thing. I'm sure that 'other' things can be confused with it but I've never been a cm watcher so can't really help - sorry.

I'm off shopping today to get some clothes with the cash I got for my birthday

scorpio1 · 02/05/2007 09:16

Tiger-sods law you buy new clothes and a baby will come.... [hope] nice way to tempt fate!!

where you shopping??i LOVE shopping and do far too much of it....

MamaMaiasaura · 02/05/2007 09:27

the new clothes thing works i bought my first pair of size 10 shorts (which were even a bit big ) since ds7 was born..

Soph73 · 02/05/2007 10:00

Morning all. Congrats to the bfp´s - lets hope there are lots more to come! Had a great weekend - far too much to eat and drink though. I had the most wonderful and soul destroying dream on Sunday, it was sooo vivid. I actually dreamt that I´d done a pregnancy test and it was positive. When I woke up and realised it was just a dream I could have cried! Maybe it´s a sign (but I very much doubt it!!)

Plummymummy - hope you enjoyed your wine too on Friday. Seems like a long time ago lol. Also I forgot that we had two days off (Mon and Tues) - how you can forget these things I´m not quite sure!!

Scorpio - didn´t enjoy The Queen either, terribly boring, I knew I should have put on Casino Royale instead, if only to watch him walk out of the sea, yummy!!!

How´s everyone else doing?

Soph73 · 02/05/2007 10:02

Sweetkitty - looks like your cycle and mine are in sync. Hey I think I´ve found a cycle buddy!!!

bobbydazzler · 02/05/2007 10:21

Morning all,

I quite enjoyed the Queen, can see why Helen Mirren got an Oscar, she deserved that just for managing to still look sexy in the Queens get up. I also thought the protrayal of Prince Phillip absolutely hilarious.

Have to agree though that Casino Royale is more of a visual feast for the eye .

Tho i do love Scotland (hello Mrs McJ) so scottish scenary was a visual feast in a different way.

Anyway better put some TTC stats down! CD 18.
AF should be due between May 10th and 13th.

Will be at it tonight and tomorrow night with DH and then will be on a break for a few days as taking DS to visit grandparents over the BH.

Mrs McJ I know what you mean about spending HOURS on MN and internet when should be working! I have become v.v.v. bad.

Take care all.

Bbabymumma · 02/05/2007 10:36

nosey old cow here as well too! apologies. don't want to leave the thread, miss you all too much. Spend far too much time on MN. Have had comments about it from colleagues - oh dear.

tigerschick - buy a whole new wardrobe for summer. Thats what I did. Fell pg a week later

Scorpio1, Soph73- I won't be getting the Queen out anytime soon then!

good luck to you all

scorpio1 · 02/05/2007 11:02

anyone wana answer my cm question further down thread??please [whine]

Bbabymumma · 02/05/2007 11:15

Hi Scorpio1 - I'll give it a go. No ewcm - How long is your cycle normally? You are only on cd13 could it just be a day late in arriving? Keep bding anyway - you may have just done the bd alot and diluted it. urghhhh.

goingfor3 · 02/05/2007 11:18

scorpio1 - I thought I had ewcm at around the time I was meant to ov. There was only a tiny amount. About a week later I had loads of it. I ov'd late in my cycle, cd18 or 19 I think which is very late as I had been having 23-26 days cycles. It may come late for you too.

scorpio1 · 02/05/2007 11:36

bbabymumma-lovely imagery isnt it??

i guess it will be around sometime...im keeping at it anyway, dp very keen at the mo'!

Soph73 · 02/05/2007 11:37

As I´m still new to this what is cm and ewcm? Sounds very mucky to me!!

Babymumma - I´m always on mn now but my job isn´t very exciting and I´m hardly rushed off my feet so being on here is a good social thing for me and if anyone walks past it looks as though I´m busy

bobbydazzler · 02/05/2007 11:39

Hello again,

I need some practical help re testing. If I don't fall this cycle (11) then I want to start the process re blood and sperm tests. I tried to do this after 6 months but got sent away by unsympathetic male GP who told me I needed to wait a year (despite fact I am age 37). I am going to try a different GP this time who I hope will be more sympathetic but what I wanted to know is should I go with my DH or just on my own. My DH does not work where are surgery is so will be easier if I just go by myself, if they agree to the tests does my DH then make a seperate appointment to produce his boys to be tested?

Any advice gratefully received. Sorry if stupid question but want to make sure they don't have any excuse to fob me off again!

Flumpytigger · 02/05/2007 11:40

Hi All,

Urgh, is anyone else running out of steam? We started seriously ttc on Friday night (CD8) and have bd'd alternate nights since then, I'm now on CD13 and I'm pooped and feel like I want to give up. I'm normally a once every 2 weeks kinda girl if dh is lucky

I'm not sure I can cope with having to bd tomorrow night and Saturday night as well! Then it'll be just my luck and I won't ov until CD18 or something! meh!

Scorpio - I'm afraid I haven't got a clue about cm etc.. I'm not a cm watcher, so I'm no use to you. Sorry.

I'm off to the gym to see if that'll help motivate me, or may be I just need a good sleep. I wonder if anyone in work will notice if I have a little snooze at my desk..

Ta-ta for now

scorpio1 · 02/05/2007 11:47

Soph- cm satnds for cervical mucus, ewcm for egg white cervical mucus.

Around time of ovulation the cervical mucus takes on the appearance of egg whites-stretchy, clear, sometimes jelly like. this mucus helps the sperm travel through the cervix.after ov, it stops.

CM at other times of cycle varies-late cycle it is thick and sticky because of the progesterone.after your period it will be dry for a few days, then milky, thn ewcm, then thick and sticky, thn period.

make sense??

And is mucky, but very helpful too.

Soph73 · 02/05/2007 12:01

Thanks Scorpio - now feeling very queasy (lol), but learning more all the time!!

wheelybug · 02/05/2007 12:59

Congrats goingfor3 !

CD22 here. Am finding the 2WW very miserable this month and symptom spotting like mad - which is madness in itself given I'm only something like 7 DPO. Sigh.

Scorpio - I think I read somewhere that CM might not be so obvious if you are doing lots of BDing...

rattling · 02/05/2007 13:24

Bobbydazzler - unfortunately every surgery in the land seems to have a different system, but when I went to complain about not being pregnant I had day 21 blood test arranged and was given a tub and instructions to take home for DH. We do seem to be very lucky with the arrangements for having sperm tests done, I've heard on here people waiting weeks to get an appointment to be allowed to take your sample in. Hope it all goes well.

bobbydazzler · 02/05/2007 13:52

Right thanks for that rattling, it seems to be like everything else in the NHS these days, a postcode lottery.

I am going to go by myself with my assertive head on to the nice empathetic GP (well I think she will be from past experience) whereas I think the bloke thinks that every female in their 30's is neurotic.

I will explain that my DH works 1.5 hours from the surgery and hope I get given a tub as well!

Thanks again.

Bbabymumma · 02/05/2007 14:06

good luck bobbydazzler - be strong, remember the more you bug them, them more they'll want to get rid of you by hopefully sending you to a specialist.

scorpio1 · 02/05/2007 16:53

dp not home until at least 9pm tonight...arrgghh.feel like a single mother lately but he is working so hard, bless him.

alittlebitshy · 02/05/2007 18:28

realised i signed in right at the beginning then never came back .

my af post m/c was barely an af, just a few days of spotting, so that combined with me still feeling fragile, meant that we decided to wait til after my next af to ttc again.

so i'll (all being well and af deciding to appear) be back on the bandwagon in JUNE thread.

look forward to meeting some of you (re-meeting) there. and hope some of you will be long gone to ante natal.

dressedupnowheretogo · 02/05/2007 18:49

hi ya ll

congraulations and comiserations to all with news good and bad

still no af more migraines and rising libido so who knows

i saw a medium on saturday and she told me i be pregnant in the next four months so its obviously in the stars

tigerschick · 02/05/2007 20:44

ooh - Boobylicious ... a palm reader told me on my hen night that I would have children but it would take a lot of effort and a considerable time to get them! Spookily true as far as dd is concerned.

Scorpio - I thought things were a bit better lately. Sorry he's out late again, but at least he's out earning to keep you in the manner in which you intend to become accustommed

plummymummy · 02/05/2007 21:45

Good luck with it all alittlebitshy. It is so tiring ttc esp when you work full-time.
Who was asking about knicker watching and cm? Have to confess to knicker watching (ever since miscarriages)but as for expertise on cm......er no. Very impressed with your knowledge though Scorpio cos I only know what mine is like when it is egg white. I pay scant attention to it the rest of the month. Mind you, prone to thrush now and then. Does that affect fertility I wonder.
