OP posts:
waiting4bambino · 28/04/2007 22:31

hey all, coming over from the April thread, CD2 today, was feeling quite down till i read through this thread and realised again, we're all in the same boat, and you cannot help but be positive! There's nothing else you can do!
At least this month, I should be ovulating around the time that we're going away for a few days, so without shifts getting in the way, there should be plenty of opportunities for Bding!
DH actually said he was looking forward to trying again this month! Dunno if he was saying that though just to cheer me up! I think until i actually get pg, all this bding is just sex for him!
Can i just ask a daft question? Can anyone actually be bothered to do it outside of the fertile window??!!

MamaMaiasaura · 29/04/2007 11:47

Hi guys.. might leave this thread as got BFP this morning

wheelybug · 29/04/2007 12:21

jsut a quickie as dashing out so back later but.... wahey AWEN !! How did that happen, well obviously I know how... but I thought you had taken something to induce AF ???

Fab news ! Hurrah !

More news like this please girls.

MamaMaiasaura · 29/04/2007 12:59

I had wheely - took provera 17/4 to 21/4. No AF arrived and thought better re test. Worried as was obviously pg when took provera. Fingers crossed baby all ok.

Really happy tho and MrAwen over the moon too (altho we both in shock as not expected)

karma · 29/04/2007 13:09

Fantastic news awen, really pleased for you. Take care of yourself.
Waiting4bambino - to answer your question, yes we do do it at any time of the month. One reason for this is that after misc. in Feb I think my cycle is all over the place and I'm not sure ov is around day 14 anymore, and also so that I don't get too caught up and obsessive about this whole thing (although I still am at times, especially when af arrives). I've kind of come to the conclusion that doing it every 2-3 days (or more if we fancy it) gives us as good a chance of it happening as just sticking to doing it around my fertile time (whenever that is now!) and I get less focussed on this whole ttc lark and actually enjoy myself more. And yes, sometimes it is an effort, especially in the evening when I'm knackered, but I guess it's whatever is right for you. Funny though, me and dh seem to have more fun and laughs when we're bonking regularly, we almost seem to revert back to the days when we first starting seeing each other, with not a care in the world (i.e no kids!!) It's nice.
Whoops, sorry for wittering on so.

plummymummy · 30/04/2007 03:07

great news awen.

scorpio1 · 30/04/2007 08:03

awen yay, about time girly!! so pleased for you.

CD11 here and so much practise over the weekend and yeah,we do outside the fertile window rather a bit .

Pinkslippers-hey chick, you ok?i know totally what you mean about the obsesiveness.i try not to come on hee too much either

Tiger-ok??

Hey everyone else

Bbabymumma · 30/04/2007 10:28

Hi ladies hope you're all well. Good luck to you all.

Congratulations Awen!! Excellent news. Come on to the Jan thread if you feel brave enough.

Scorpio1 - happy to hear weekend went well. Lots of good wishes to your friends poorly baby.

goingfor3 · 30/04/2007 10:57

Congratulations Awen! I thinm I'm going to be joining you in due in Jan.

I did a clearblue yesterday, I took it aprt after a few minutes and saw a very very faint line. This morning I did a boots test and a faint live appered after a couple of mintues( I didn't have to take that one apart!). I just did a FR and there is a light but visable pink line. I'm trying not to get too excited because the chances of miscarriage are so high especially as I'm only about 10 days dpo but I can't help it

scorpio1 · 30/04/2007 11:02

Goingfor3 - wait until friday and test again - the line will be very obvious by then and no squinting required! Good luck though

goingfor3 · 30/04/2007 11:09

There's no squinting required with the FR test, 3 year old DD2 could see it!

Bbabymumma · 30/04/2007 11:10

oh goingfor3 very exciting news. Well done!

I see Awen is due Dec! Good luck with everything.

scorpio1 · 30/04/2007 11:13

goingfor3 - well done then!!sorry i wasnt being funny, just didnt want you to get all excited too early IYKWIM. WELL DONE!!

goingfor3 · 30/04/2007 11:21

scorpio1 - It's alright! When I see people who have posted saying they have a faint line I always tell them the same thing as you told me.

tigerschick · 30/04/2007 11:58

Morning Ladies Better type quickly or it'll be the afternoon!

Hope everyone is well this fine Monday morning - if there is such a thing!?

Awen - Congratulations chick. Hope it all goes well for you.

Goingfor3 - Congratulations to you too. Are you going to test again later in the week anyway, just to be sure? Fingers crossed for you.

Scorpio - Glad to hear everything went smoothly after all. You OK in general? Plenty of bding here over the weekend too

Pinkslippers - I know it's hard not to get obsessive. I'm going to a 1st birthday party tomorrow and the mum is due again in November. I am happy for her, but it just makes me feel more gutted for myself! I really want to have another baby, partly because I don't want dd to be an only child, but dh is more of the mind that if we don't have any more, at least we've got 1. Which makes me feel like I'm greedy Anyway - I'm sure your bil is right.

Waiting4bambino - My fertile period is as mysterious as the sphinx so we just bd whenever we have the time and the energy. It keeps us sane as I think dh would resent bonking to order. I suppose that is one of the few good things about being so irregular.

MrsMc - How's the boss? And everything else? Dh happy to bd this weekend?

Bbabymumma - how's it going on the January thread? How are you getting on?

Everyone else - Hi and hope you are well

We had a great weekend. Probably a good job that I'm not pg as I put a few pints away on Saturday to say the least We went to a bar after the rugby and dh got the band to play happy birthday to me - the whole bar joined in. Sooooo embarassing!! It was a bit odd to be p*ed in public as I haven't done that since dd was born! Anyway, 365 days til the big 3-0

scorpio1 · 30/04/2007 12:02

Tiger - sounds like a good weekend i too went to a rugby end of season bbq last night...... . yeah im ok, a bit happier this week,dp has made loads more effort to spend more time with me.i can see the difference IYKWIM.If you're greedy for wanting 2dc's, what about me??this will be our fourth between us .dp says no more now,i believe him, this baby to be was hard enough to get him to agree to!you're not greedy at all, it WILL hapen for you.enjoy the bday party, knowing you too will have a bump soon enough Did you have a nice weekend away?i noticee when i havent been on here for a few days im more chilled....

MrsMcJnr · 30/04/2007 12:29

Hello ladies 4dpo today, not feeling very hopeful though, have to say.

AWEN - FABULOUS well done you!!! Delighted for you & Mr Awen. Wishing you a very happy, healthy pregnancy!

Let Awen lead the pack ? come on ladies!!

Hello Goingfor3 that?s great news!!! I really hope the line gets much stronger over the next few days!

Meto Yipeee!! Hope you managed to fit a timely BD in. 10 days is fine. I think the average LP is actually 12 but it can vary from 9-16 days and still be fine.

PlummyMummy ? sounds fine then

Scorpio1 ? sorry about the headlice (scratching my head just thinking about it!)

Pinkslippers ? it?s good to voice it all! Fingers crossed for you.

Hello again Waitingforbambino sorry April wasn?t your month. Sounds like the opportunites for success in May are looking good Some cycles, we just can?t be bothered but others we seem to get a taste for it!

Hey Karma ? very sensible philosophy, I try to aim for 2-3 times/week apart from AF time when I?ve read it is best to let your body relax totally but I do try to convince DH to go for it more often when I think I am fertile!

Bbabymamma ? hope all is going well with you!

Hello Tigerschick Boss absent so he?s fine OVd Thurs so pressure was off this weekend. How are you? Sounds like the weekend was fun!

bobbydazzler · 30/04/2007 13:43

Afternoon all

Just wanted to say thanks to those who posted messages of sympathy re my lovely FIL. We were lucky because DS got to spend the first 2 years of his little life with him and I realise that many people lose loved ones before they have their own DC.

CD 16 for me. DH was supposed to be having a night out watching his footie team on Friday and getting pxxxxd. He had the night out but had to abstain from the booze so he could drive back to do his duty with me! Hope it is worth it! at least his footie team won so all is not lost if we have another BFN this month!

Congrats to Awen and Going for 3, first of many BFP's on this thread to come hopefully.

My husband also says well at least we have one and I know it is true but doesn't stop the yearning. Good friends of ours are visiting at end of May who are about to embark on IVF to try for their first child. We know another couple who are due to have their first baby through IVF and yet another who have just had their first son by IVF. Unfortunately Mum had a third degree tear and had to go to theatre. Seems unfair that they had alot of trouble conceiving and now she has to cope with the consequences of the tear. So yes I do think myself very lucky really to have one lovely heathly DS and to have been able to enjoy him from the very moment he was delivered .

Buy for now x

MamaMaiasaura · 30/04/2007 14:41

yay goingfor3!! wishing you a happy healthy pregnancy

Thank you lovely ladies for your messages, I hope you all are lucky this month xxxx

I have dating scan tomorrow morning so wil know for sure if due Dec or Jan 11am... cant wait. Didnt sleep much last night, tossing and turning again. Am far too excited

wheelybug · 30/04/2007 14:54

Ah lovely awen - let us know how the scan goes tomorrow. Am v. pleased for you !

Well done too Goingfor3 ! Are we on a roll now (she says hopefully) ???

Meto - hello cycle buddy. Glad you OV in the end - a couple of days after me I think. Good luck !

Plummymummy - glad your ds is almost 3 (thats not late though is it - especially for boys), makes me feel better ! Funnily enough dd has shown a bit of interest over the weekend so who knows ?!

Hi pinkslipper - hope the 'trying not to obsess' works for you this month !

Glad your weekend was ok Scorpio.

flosspot · 30/04/2007 16:38

Hello everyone-

new to the site, so bear with me. Still trying to work out the acronyms.

TTC for 19 months, which feels like a lifetime, but am sure is much shorter than others. Have DH and recently acquired puppy, Nugget, who provides a reasonable amount of distraction when frustrated with cycles, consultants and temperature charts, but not so hot on advice and support.

Have PCOS and on Clomid (2nd cycle. CD 10 so going to be busy for the next few days.

sweetkitty · 30/04/2007 16:39

hiya wow what a large thread sorry haven't had time to read it all but thought I would add myself to the list

AF due around 9th May so we are TTC after that.

Already have:
DD1 2.9y (conceived after 9 months of TTC)
DD2 1.3y (conceived very first unprotected BD after DD1 was born)

AFs are back to clockwork after finishing BFing DD2 at 13 months.

So here we are again number 3 seems very scary but I don't want to have 2 close together then 1 a few years later, planning to have them all close together, have a breakdown then recover. No seriously the DDs are the best but we still feel their is another little person missing from around the table. I suffer from SPD in pregnancy so will be the most miserbable pregnant women ever but it will be worth it (my mantra).

Best of luck to everyone ttc this month and hopefully we will all be graduating to the Due in Fed thread x

MrsMcJnr · 30/04/2007 16:42

Boobydazzler ? I?m impressed! And footie comes before TTC with my DH

Awen ? so exciting!! Let us know how you get on at the scan!

Hi Wheely

Welcome Flosspot ? sorry it is taking so long I really hope it happens for you soon. I am on cycle 10 of TTC (though got BFP on Cycle 8 but MC at 10 weeks) puppy must be gorgeous

Hello SweetKitty hope the PSD stays at bay this time or at least is better! Good luck for May!

tigerschick · 30/04/2007 16:45

Hi sweetkitty and flosspot.Good luck to you both this month.

Flosspot, I'm interested in the fact that you are on Clomid for PCOS. I'm waiting to hear about a scan to see if that is my problem. Do you mind me asking how you were diagnosed and how long it took before you started treatment? I already have 1 dd of 13 months but she took over 3 years to conceive 'naturally' so we are seeking a little help with ttc#2.

meto · 30/04/2007 16:56

I think we've been on a anti natal thread b4 - but i'm under disguise! lol.

hiya floss - what dog have you got? (i've got 2 my self - don't envy you thou with pups.)

awen - good luck for tomorrow chick, don't forget to stop in and let us know how you go.

bobby - sorry to hear about yourt FIL. agree with mrsmj - Drinking/fottie comes first for my DH (hence no bd'ing sat night )

mrsmcj - we managed a measly one bit gutted not v hopeful but we shall see. I have a feeling this month I might well have a 32 day cycle - when I ov'ed on days 12/13 my lp was alwasy 14 days regardless so hoping to have the same again with a late OV.

bambino - erm yes well DH has said i'm not to get obsessed and plan our sex life around my little white persona moniter! lol. so it's bd'ing all month round for us- just more at OV time I think.

anyhow hope everyone's doing OK, currently 2DPO now I think (OV 18/19 now 20) so roll on 9th may when i'll know one way or the other - hopefully!

outlaws down from weds so might not be about as much. (MIL is asking about a no 2 again so no pressure there then! lol. (shame they weren't down this w/e after all - could ahve used 2 days alone with DH anyhow! lol)

wheeley - hiya chick, yep 2 ww for us chick - i'm thinking of starting knitting again - will give me something to do instead of peeing on a tenner! lol.
