I think unless you have a clear idea when you ovulate, use them every day till you get a positive! I did after I came off the pill - that's the beauty of them being so cheap Smile

LovePinaColada · 09/09/2017 00:31

Thank ladies for the advice!

OceanDreams · 09/09/2017 06:53

Hey all, nice to see some BFP's! Congrats all!
I'm now 8DPO and am not well known for being patient 🙄 Starting to do that over-analysing thing where you assume every single little change in your body Is pointing towards one thing 😣 Lots of pinching, terrible sleep, vivid dreams and lack of appetite (I never have a problem with my appetite lol), would never think anything of it if wasn't ttc!

pixielove123 · 09/09/2017 07:11

Morning. Hope you all slept well.

@LovePinaColada she doesn't specialize in Fertility but over health. My thinking is if she can get the body working holistically then everything inside will all play nicely together. Taking all this vitamins and stuff have really made me feel healthier all round. So hoping reflex will be the cherry on the top to do the trick for a BFP. I did also consider Acupuncture. But at the place where I do Biochenitcs there is such a lovely reflex ladies. So I saw it as a sign and picked reflex. I also looked at past post on MN and the posts about reflex seemed to jump out at me more than acupuncture.

MonaTheMoaner · 09/09/2017 10:14

Tested this morning with FRER and got a BFN. Looks like I'm out. Period is due Monday so hoping for a September conception and October BFP. Got my hopes up but oh well Blush

PhoenixDown · 09/09/2017 11:51

13 DPO. BFN. Zero symptoms aside from odd mild cramp and usual PMS feeling of wanting to murder everyone. Boo Sad

I think I'm out too Mona AF due Monday for me too. Flowers

Sleepingstarsmommy · 09/09/2017 11:53

Mona i've had a negative on a frer 1 day before my period was due. Didnt actually get my positive until 2 days after AF was due. You're not out until the witch arrives!!

Mamabooksbabynumber2 · 09/09/2017 12:08

af has just arrived so I'm getting off the bus. Good luck to everyone. I will now hop on to the October bus xx

PhoenixDown · 09/09/2017 12:51

Sleepingstars that's given me a glimmer of hope, thanks Grin

TheGrumpySquirrel · 09/09/2017 18:35

Same here @MonaTheMoaner ! Mine is also due Monday. Hope AF doesn't show!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 09/09/2017 18:36

@Sleepingstarsmommy that's good to know!

LovePinaColada · 09/09/2017 21:10

Thank you @pixielove123 - I will look in to it, it sounds just what I need. Hopefully it will sort out my AF problems.

Coffee3 · 09/09/2017 21:30

Can I have how many of you use Opks?
My gp advised me to leave them alone, and just have sex every other day. But I have a whole box....
she said the worrying did more harm than anything else- I expect stress doesn't help - but I'd have to quit my job to not have any more stress!
And I would have expected to get pregnant on holiday if that was the case?!

Aph413 · 09/09/2017 21:41

We've only just started ttc but we've decided to give opks a go. Currently using clear blue digital, figured if all else fails I'll be able to figure out roughly when I start my two week wait

MonaTheMoaner · 09/09/2017 22:10

Started bleeding this evening. Definitely got a faint line a few days ago and not due AF until Monday so wondering if it was an unfortunate chemical pregnancy 😔

Can anyone recommend the easiest (foolproof if possible) ovulation tests please?

Meggimoo · 09/09/2017 23:52

Sorry to hear that @Mona. I've only been using boots ones and I am still trying to get the hang of them.
I have been wondering about stress @Coffee3...I'd have to quit my job too! It's quite stressful and I have trouble switching off at the best of times. does anyone know how much impact stress has on ttc?

Sleepingstarsmommy · 10/09/2017 08:35

Sorry to hear that Mona. Ive used the clear blue smiley face ones before and they are the easiest to read. I was also using internet cheapies. Clear blue gave me flashing smiley faces but never the static smiley face indicating peak fertility whereas the IT ones did give me a positive. Downside to the IT ones is it is your judgement as to whether the 2nd line is the same colour / darker and I dont always trust my own judgement Confused

Coffee3 · 10/09/2017 08:56

@mona I'm so sorry you're bleeding- I hope you're not feeling too awful.
I've bought the boots ones to try for this cycle but considering getting some clear blue as well?! I'm not sure if that would make more or less stressed!
Decided to have a quick Google about stress - for a specific health article/journal rather than a website saying to relax- so far I've found this:
www.nhs.uk/news/pregnancy-and-child/study-probes-stress-and-conception/
Now trying to consider what I could realistically do to reduce stress (and wine!) this cycle ....🤔

Janefx40 · 10/09/2017 09:14

@MonaTheMoaner I like clear blue digital because you can use first morning urine which means you don't have to hold your wee in for 4 hours etc and you don't have to endlessly try to analyse how dark the lines are. They are more expensive at first but once you have pinpointed when you ovulate you use fewer.

I don't use dual hormone ones, just the regular ones.

That said I get nice clear LH positives every month. Some people have shorter surges and may not get a positive just testing once a day. But for me they work really well and reduced the stress.

X

MonaTheMoaner · 10/09/2017 11:53

I don't trust my own judgment with lines either so the digital ones are going to be for me. The GP says to just have sex every other day but I obviously want to get pregnant ASAP so really want to catch peak fertility and jump on DH a bit more around then.

Good luck to everyone on their wait! I'm moving over to the October bus now and hopefully there won't be many of you over there Flowers

PhoenixDown · 10/09/2017 11:56

Ah sorry Mona :( I use the cheap internet opks as the others are too expensive for me. They work well most of the time though this month they were a bit of a pain as I kept getting almost positives, but I think that was more down to me having a weird cycle this month (when I was ttc #1 I got good positives most months).

My non update - CD 33. 14 DPO. BFN. No symptoms, no AF. Bloody fed up.

MonaTheMoaner · 10/09/2017 12:39

Really hoping AF doesn't come Phoenix

TheGrumpySquirrel · 10/09/2017 13:55

Still no AF but another negative FRER this morning so resigning myself to waiting for the inevitable. Really annoyed, we DTD every day for two weeks straight and nothing! This means I'll be heading into cycle 5 post MC, which is depressing.

PhoenixDown · 10/09/2017 14:12

@TheGrumpySquirrel I'm sick of seeing BFNs now too, just adding to the torture. Just going to wait for AF now. Meh. Let's hope October brings better luck for us and everyone else unsuccessful this month Flowers

Thanks @MonatheMoaner I'm 99.99999999% sure it'll show but I guess a faint glimmer of hope exists yet clutches at straws

pulpi · 10/09/2017 16:36

Congrats to those with BFPs!

Hugs to those with BFNs. I remember that feeling well (had it 10 times myself).

Am close to ovulating (fingers crossed - I didn't ovulate regularly before my first pregnancy) and then the mind-numbing boredom of the 2 week wait. I'd forgotten how dull this was - aside from all the dtd, of course.
