So we are rolling on to thread #five –
We are not giving up, our PMA is still alive.

Put pure and simply,
We want to have babies,
God, please help everyone of these lovely ladies.

We support each other,
We are funny and kind,
And we will not be giving up,
Until we see that thick BFP line.

Thanks @ArchiesMamaBird that's good to know!

CakesALot · 02/05/2017 15:46

Lovely idea to get away for a few days @Anna2006. I think we can all be guilty of taking our relationships for granted sometimes. DD stayed at my sisters for this night on Sunday and DH and I had a night to ourselves. Was so good to just laugh and relax together and be carefree for a bit!

MissMagpie · 02/05/2017 15:54

Thanks for the feedback Archies. Do you mind me asking why the acupuncturist wanted you to ovulate earlier? I have 32/33day cycles and ovulate around the cd20 mark...is that bad?!

Hippychic79 · 02/05/2017 16:08

archies I'm interested to know that too ... I'm guessing magpie that the ideal number of cycle days is 28 .... although clearly we're not all going to hit this every cycle but I think it's about getting you as close to the optimum as possible ... a slightly shorter cycle over the year would give effectively give you another chance ttc if that makes sense?

Hi cakes good to have you back online

anna I have reflexology every 6 weeks ... it's well expensive where I am ... £37 per hourly session .... how much do you pay if you don't mind me asking? I agree with being in the happy place 😊😊😊

Magpie and Hippy She just said that a 35/36 day cycle is quite long and that ideally I should be OV about day 14/15. And I think you're right Hippy, in that the shorter your cycle, the more chances you'd have each year.

Hippychic79 · 02/05/2017 16:22

Yeah from what I've read #nerd .... I don't necessarily think that a slightly longer cycle is prohibitive to ttc, it's just ideally we should have one shot a month and with slightly longer cycles you fall short slightly ... but ever so slightly ... I would necessarily worry magpie xxx

OP posts:
Hippychic79 · 02/05/2017 16:23

That meant to say wouldn't worry ... sorry xxx

MissMagpie · 02/05/2017 16:31

Ah I see. Well that is very true. I have had a couple of 28 day cycles this year when I did ovulate early but have no idea why.
Oh well, as long as I am ovulating, that's my main concern atm!!

Hippychic79 · 02/05/2017 16:49

My cycles vary too - usually between 26-29 days and your absolutely right magpie as long as we're ovulating that's the main thing xxx

Hi ladies,
Sorry about your BFN anna - I'll certainly keep my fingers crossed for you still and in the meantime sounds like a great idea spending some quality time with your other half. It's so easy to get wrapped up in daily life and TTC business and forget the importance and how lucky we are to have our other halves.

Hi cakes - nice to hear from you! Sounds like you've had a VERY productive fortnight! Let's hope it's been successful!

I've always fancied acupuncture but never got round to it. It's meant to help with a lot of things and as I've said before, I like the idea of alternative treatments and holistic therapy.

Today, I had my 12 week scan. The little babe was SO active apart from the bit we needed him/her to be most. So looks like they're already going to be trouble! Everything looks OK, heartbeat nice and strong and measuring at 12+3 with an EDD of 11/11/17. DH was in his absolute element, I almost loved that more than seeing my little baby.

Hey ladies, happy Tuesday!!! Just been catching up on you all after a lovely weekend away. Af didn't stick around for long thank goodness so she didn't spoil everything!! Looks like we'll have a few testers this week so fx for you all and onto cycle 14 for me!!! DH agreed over the weekend that it's time for him to go get some tests done, I've had my bloods checked but for those of you who have started down this path do I need to go back to the gp too or will it be dh's Doreen's that get done first?? Xx

sarahboro1 · 02/05/2017 17:05

Just seen your scan pic Dolly, soooooo gorgeous!!! Must have been a lovely feeling. Did they give you his / her size at this point?? Xx

Moo31 · 02/05/2017 17:07

We are due 1 day apart (although your due date of 11/11 is a Saturday when OH will be on the golf course so I will put money on going into labour then!) I am chuffed to bits for you! Grin xo

Sarah I had my bloods done, then when I went to get the results the GP told me to get DH to ring up to book an appt to discuss going for a sperm analysis. I then get my date through and had my ultrasound and trans-vaginal scan and got my results all before DH has even been for his test yet! (Tbf it took him 2 weeks to book the initial appt with the GP and then couldn't make the first date for the sperm analysis so has to wait 3 weeks for the next appt).

But I think your DH will be able to go and get tested at any point tbh

Sophsta · 02/05/2017 18:51

Ok ladies. I have been absent the past few days as I have been feeling really down due to my BFN last week and needed time to relax and not think about ttc. Period was due on Sunday and didn't arrive so have just tested again and, well, see attached picture...

Sophsta · 02/05/2017 18:52

hello ladies

back to being a busy wee thread today, loves the buzz i do! #girlgang

@MissMagpie having shorter cycles probably related to promoting earlier ovulation as, from what iv read, you ideally need 7-12 days for implantation. so if you're ovulating day 20-21 of a 30 day cycle (for example) it's not really giving your wee zygote an ideal chance to bury itself. from what i gather a lot of ladies who have longer cycles seem to OV later rather than earlier which is bizarre. so 28 day cycle tend to OV cd14, right in the middle but a 30 day cycle tend to OV around cd20. it's a weird and wonderful thing the body eh. the promotion of shorter cycles must directly relate to OV a lot earlier so that the 2ww is long enough for implantation. anyway, i'm rambling now #shutupbella

also @MissMagpie LOVING your #PMA.. #yougogirl

@Dollydaydream2829 your scan pic is literally perfect. how amazing is the human body? wow, just wow! how are you feeling now? hoping the bleeding has stopped and remains that way for you #littledollydimple

@Moo31 are you expecting work to be arsey about your news? bloody hope not or we will round there in a flash #throatpunch hope you're keeping well too #minimoo

@Anna2006 i do hope you tested too early and you get a well deserved BFP on thursday. everybodies HCG levels vary and some women still get BFNs days after AF was due so it can happen #notouttilyourout

@Hippychic79 i also have a good feeling for you #goodvibes as you say, you're doing a lot to aid conception and your #PMA has been through the roof this cycle. i am hopeful that you'll be rewarded well in a day or twos time #happyhippy

@CakesALot 10 points to you for your DTD efforts! i'm well impressed #happyshagger

@AmandaP86x i thought you got some smiley faces on some OPKs this cycle or am i getting mixed up? i know you were poorly but that's maybe helped you relax and not overthink TTC this cycle #youjustneverknow

@Littleonek welcome to our #PMA thread. we're a friendly bunch who happen to love a hashtag or two #sadiknow. good luck for POAS soon. don't be discouraged by recently coming off the pill. some woman get up duffed on their first cycle TTC. it does happen! i was 20+yrs on the pill and it only took me 1 cycle to ovulate and got my BFP on cycle 3 (to say i was shocked was the understatement of the century)! are you planning on using OPKs to track ovulation or does your body give you signs?

wee update from me is that i'm a hormonal mess, called a colleague (member of senior management team but not superior) a "fucking toad" today, still doing daily pregnancy tests even though i'm 6wks+1, worst skin/spots ever since puberty but eating loads fresh foods & drinking 3ltrs of water per day, boobs have gone up a cup size & mega sore, have no energy but i'm bored doing nothing.... so basically i'm a ray of fucking sunshine #hahaha

are any other grads planning to get a gender scan? xx

youngmummy3105 · 02/05/2017 19:01

Congratulations Soph on your BFP!

That's a lovely scan picture Dolly!xx

BellaMoon · 02/05/2017 19:01

WOWSER @Sophsta CONGRATULATIONS that's brilliant news whoop whoop. how you feeling? x

Anna2006 · 02/05/2017 19:02

@ArchiesMamaBird forget to add in post above what month ttc did you go see your GP? I know some are funny and I've known friends who've been told to come back after 2 years ttc 😱 And others happy to do it at 12 month mark
