Hippychic79 · 11/04/2017 12:55

So we are rolling on to thread #five –
We are not giving up, our PMA is still alive.

Put pure and simply,
We want to have babies,
God, please help everyone of these lovely ladies.

We support each other,
We are funny and kind,
And we will not be giving up,
Until we see that thick BFP line.

BellaMoon · 23/04/2017 15:58

@Hippychic79 lol love it. afternoon pumpage is the best #comeondoreen #peggydoyourthing you're officially in the 2WW! how exciting xxx

CakesALot · 23/04/2017 16:08

@Hippychic79 that sounds like heaven!! We had a house full of friends and their kiddies this afternoon. I've got that exhausted but warm fuzzy feeling now 😊 was so lovely. We've only been in this house since last July after being in a 2 bed terrace with a postage stamp garden! Love being able to have a house full of laughter and fun! (The mess isn't as fun though!)

Af has left the building. I was ultra kind to her. Rlt consumed again today. That Peggy is getting all dolled up for a hot date with Doreen!!

Moo31 · 23/04/2017 16:40

Lol @hippy you are so funny! It's so hard to know how long the wee swimmers need! ;)

@cakes that sounds lovely :)

notparticularlypatient · 23/04/2017 22:06

In awe over extraordinary well timed dtd, hippy. Hope you managed to leave the bed for tea at leastSmile. I think the doreens are quite quick, although I find myself doing the exact same thing (pillow etc...).

Archies adorable Spider-Man is clearly a living proof that the pcos is not preventing ov all the time! Do you temp? The temp rise after ov is a confirmation of ov as far as I understand, so might be worth a try (I'm
no expert on temping though, doing it myself for the first time this cycle).

Entering the second of the tww now, and not looking forward to the next days. Luckily it's a busy week with a lot of both work and social things going on. Will try to ignore the urge to poas.

BellaMoon · 24/04/2017 06:39

good luck to everyone in the 2WW or FW. cmon BFPs we wanna see some new year babies #PMA

just out of interest, is anyone stopping TTC soon so that they don't have a jan/feb baby due to school age etc? this never occurred to me but my DH said to me recently that he would have tried to avoid this cos he would be worried about a kid being the youngest in their class. this genuinely never entered my mind. there's a high chance we will have an early jan baby if i'm late (first baby etc). Anyway just thought i'd asked as i'm wondering if he's the only one that thinks like this #overthinkingmorelikely

also, from the life coaching seminar i went to, i got a wee bit of cheesy advice regarding snoozing my alarm as apparently 99% of people who snooze their alarm only think negative thoughts during that snooze period so the spokesman said instead of snoozing the alarm, sit up and listen to a motivational or happy song, for the same amount of time you'd snooze your alarm (so you don't think you're missing out on time in bed). so i did, here was my song this morn and it's fair made a wee difference #cantstopthefeeling #trousersnake

m.youtube.com/watch?v=ru0K8uYEZWw

CakesALot · 24/04/2017 07:05

That's a good point @BellaMoon, I'm terrible for snoozing my alarm and probably always lay there worrying about what needs to be done today rather than resting. I'll give it a go!

Re timing conception to avoid certain things, I don't really think about it. I'm so keen to get upduffed that I'll deal with any consequences! I think if you worry about things like that too much then there's always an excuse not to get pregnant each month!!

CakesALot · 24/04/2017 07:52

We've got a family holiday booked next April with my siblings and all the kids. I'm very aware that as time goes on I'm risking whether we'll be able to go or not. But I know if I missed a month or two TTC then continued to not get pregnant,I'd be wondering if the month I missed was meant to be my month! Holidays can be rescheduled. Just my view though!!

Itsjustaphase84 · 24/04/2017 08:20

@BellaMoon the school year for England ends in August. So if you have an August baby you are the youngest in your year bit oldest of you were born the September before iyswim.

Is it different in Scotland?

I never think of holidays etc whilst TTC. Ive applied for a.new job in my company before I got my bfp. Oh well Confused

ArchiesMamaBird · 24/04/2017 08:55

notparticularlypatient I've been temping for the last few months and have seen a definite temp rise each month which stays high for about 13 days before AF, so I'm pretty sure that I am OV (well I'm sure I have the last 3 months). I'm temping again this month so hoping to see my temp rise tomorrow and that should tie in with my positive OPK on Saturday morning. Good luck with your temping, I find it fascinating how it can show you so much regarding your fertility!

Bella I echo what Cakes and Phase said above. We've been TTC for so long this time around that I wouldn't want to risk stopping for anything! My best friend was born 31st August so she was the youngest in our year, and our other friend was born 15th Sept, so there was almost a year between them but they were in the same school year. It used to be crazy to think that there was this big age gap, but I think the youngest ones just adjust to that school year and everyone in it IYSWIM.

Hippychic79 · 24/04/2017 09:26

Morning lovely ladies 😊

Sarahb To be honest, this is the second cycle where dp and I have had morning sex, which is fairly unusual for us to be honest but I have to say I’m thoroughly enjoying it. Needless to say I am loving the happy song idea Bella but I do think morning sex is definitely a good alternative to snoozing, lol. I always lie there googling how long you should you wait before you get up and according to Dr Google the answers range from 15 to 30 minutes… but being that I had nothing to get up for and I like to air on the side of caution, I remained horizontal for 2 hours, just to be on the safe side! And no, DP did not wonder why my I had a pillow under my butt for the whole two hours…. He was too busy doing his post sex vape and footie catch up on his phone. #romance #domennoticeanything I even sent dp to make the tea, which I usually do, but not in fw! Lol

Bella Yes, yes, yes, bring on the 2ww. The first week is always exciting, I’m never sure about the second week. But with PMA hat on last week I did purchase a high number of pg tests – x20 IC’s, x2 CB digitals & x2 FRER’s, I already have x1 FRER and x1 CB standard so my current total stock pile of pg tests is x26….. #berudenottotestearly In terms of timings, I don’t think about school years, I did want an August baby when I started trying but now I’ll take any month, what will be will be 😊

Cakes I’m not going to lie, it was absolute bliss lying in bed all afternoon with dp tickling my back whilst he watched the football…. But your afternoon sounded equally lovely, minus the mess of course. #imatidyfreak

Moo Yeah it’s a tricky one, knowing how long to lie there for. TMI coming up, sorry… when we’d finished, DP commented on how wet his willy was and even after lying there for 2 hours, I still had leakage when I got up. Of course I had to consult Dr Google on this and apparently it is very normal to have excess leakage. #veryconfidentthatdpshothisload #sorry #soexcited #reallywannagradnow

patient THANK you for your very kind words about my timings… as my dp doesn’t know we’re ttc, timing is everything to me as I usually only get one shot in fw. Now that I am officially entering the 2ww I will keep everything including my legs crossed for you hun.

Incidentally ladies – I was wondering… once you have all finished fw, do you still continue to dtd before expected BFP? Keen to understand what everyone does. I really enjoy making love with dp (probably mentioned this before), but sadly he works loads and we both get tired so we usually make love once or twice a week every week throughout my cycle, but we don’t dtd when she who can’t be named visits. I’m just wondering if dtd in the 2ww effects your chances? Surely it doesn’t? #adviceplease

Phase Good luck with your new job application. I bet you will get the job now you’ve got your bfp…. Good luck comes in 3’s.

Archies Eeeeeeeeek bring on the 2ww

Hippy We've always been a DTD every other day couple regardless of TTC or not, we just up it a bit during FW. I think the general NHS advice for TTC (and my GP agrees) is to DTD every 2-3 days from the day AF ends to the day it starts again. But I think this is more for people that aren't tracking OV, and aren't in tune with when their FW is

Hippychic79 · 24/04/2017 10:55

archies I am in awe of your stamina .... every other day .... #highfive #respect #archiesmynewhero

Wowsers .... sadly dp and I only get to dtd once or twice a week ... I think I need to have some words with him lol 😂
Xxx

OP posts:
ArchiesMamaBird · 24/04/2017 11:26

Hippy Haha well I say we DTD EOD but obviously if one of us is too tired (or if DS is in our bed Grin) then we don't always achieve it. I'm putting my stamina down to my 26 year old youth (and the fact that I've learned to survive on minimal sleep since becoming a Mama so I tend to have lots of energy as some sort of coping mechanism Grin)

I've also been doing a bit of research on my diagnosis, and it looks like you can have polycystic ovaries without having polycystic ovary syndrome so I'm guessing that's what I have as I don't have any of the classic symptoms. And it looks like just having poly cystic ovaries doesn't necessarily affect fertility too much #suddenlymypmaisback

loababy · 24/04/2017 12:20

Hey ladies,

Just catching up after a busy weekend of working, chill time and trying not to think of anything ttc related after my crazy moment last week! AF has now left so I'm feeling normal again! :)

@Moo @Bella My side hustle/soon to be dream career is that I'm a wedding photographer. I've been doing it for a few years on the side but getting ready to take the plunge and quit the 'day job'... hence why I'm acting like a crazy woman to try have a baby in winter months because I wouldn't go on a maternity leave as such.

@Flash sorry to hear about af - hope you've had a nice relaxed weekend

@Magpie I'm off to Italy in 2 weeks and I can't wait. Glad to hear you have a lovely time. Excited to see good things about Lake Garda @Rose as that is where I'm off to.

I'm feeling pretty good for a Monday! :)

Things I'm grateful for today are:

  1. That I have a 10k to run in 2 weeks (before the holiday) so that is big incentive to move my (ever gaining weight because I get so stressed on the tww) body and my 5k this morning went well.
  2. I have a relaxed evening planned to ease into the week
  3. I have a lovely, yummy healthy lunch which will help me lose some lbs before holiday and consequently make it easier to drag myself around the 10k

Hope Monday treats you well :)

Moo31 · 24/04/2017 13:54

Jeepers @Archies I am tired just thinking about DTD every other day! @Hippy they say it doesn't affect the baby during pregnancy so I can't see how it would affect anything during the 2ww so I would say carry on as it will be good for the soul! :)

Re school / age / etc - the cut off in NI is end of June. I did think I would love a July baby who would be the oldest in their year but as the months passed I was the same as some of you and stopped thinking about that! Oh is Jan, I am March and my sister is June and we have all done ok so I don't think it matters! I would say school choice probably has more impact than age tbh.

Hope everyone is having a happy Monday :)

My 3 things:

  1. I am feeling "normal" today, haven't been sick and haven't felt nauseous at all. Feels exhilarating! (Hopefully haven't just jinxed myself!)
  2. The sun has just come out after a very rainy morning - oh and I have gardening activities and possibly a bbq planned for this evening so the weatherman obviously got my memo!
  3. I have a little person growing inside me - I am so grateful and thankful for such a blessing
Hippychic79 · 24/04/2017 14:42

Archies Even if you miss a day or two, you’re still my hero even for the almost EOD approach! To be fair, I had a lot of energy when I was 26 too… I’m 38 now and I guess I’ve been noticeably more tired for the past 12 months, I guess the youthful energy had to run dry at some point. Well… hopefully this will all change when I have a little baby to look after, like you I will adapt and learn to live on minimal sleep again… bring it on. #thisladyisreadytobeupduffed Glad to hear your research has proved fruitful, you’ve already got a little one so clearly you’re fertile 😊

Loa Hey – glad to hear you’re feeling better and that your PMA is returning. Don’t worry about not having any PMA on CD1, none of us have much on that horrible day! Great news that AF has left… not long till you will be gliding into fw. Do you have any plans on how you will approach this cycle? Are you drinking raspberry leaf tea? Will you be OPK’ing or will you be taking a chillaxed approach?

Moo Thank you for your feedback on dtd in the 2ww …. To be honest, although I’m no sex sprinter like our Archies I don’t I could cut down much more from once a week lol

OK so the 3 things is still going and I like to play along so here goes…

My 3 things for today are –
1/ I am happy that the timings were optimum this cycle and I welcome the two week wait with open arms
2/ DP is on tea duty this evening
3/ I actually enjoyed the pineapple core this morning

Hi ladies just trying to catch up!!!!!

I actually feel human again it's a miracle I can't believe how bad that was honestly 🤔 But it has resulted in me not DTD for a week 😭 CD14 today so prob ovulating and no doreens. Need to get on the case tonight! Not even looked at my app or anything but defo ruling this month out due to my week of dying/no sex lol. Might be lucky but is day 14 not too late? Maybe I will use my CB OPK here just out of curiosity 😂

ArchiesMamaBird · 24/04/2017 15:18

Amanda It all depends on when you OV. I normally OV around day 20, but I have 35 day cycles.

So glad that you are feeling better too Smile

AmandaP86x · 24/04/2017 15:19

So I have a flashing smiley face ....

AmandaP86x · 24/04/2017 15:20

Oh fanks Archies xxxx

BellaMoon · 24/04/2017 15:20

thanks for the comments re: TTC/school intake. it looks like in scotland february is the cut off so a 28th feb baby will be in the year above a 1st march baby #statingtheobvious i'd never thought of this ever so i was surprised my DH had. he was privately educated so maybe it makes a bigger difference for the snobs 😂 #middleclassewanker #soz

@loababy ohhh how lovely a wedding photographer! well having just got married last Nov, i can say you've picked a great profession to make the big bucks #costafortune but how lovely to witness so many happy moments every week. best of luck chic #snaphappy

@Moo31 that's great news to hear you're feeling like a human being. yay! iv been in the grad list just over a week and i feel like iv been pregnant a lifetime (even tho it's not sunk in yet) as i have zero patience #thepennywilldrop

@Hippychic79 och go for it girlfriend! i'm normally quite an "up for it" anytime kinda gal but iv become a paranoid wreck since upduffed so i'd say make the most of it now before your BFP comes 😂

BellaMoon · 24/04/2017 15:29

@AmandaP86x if iv learned anything during this TTC malarkey it's to never assume anything lol #getjiggywithit i had 28/29 day cycles and ov'd around cd14/15 #happypumpage. glad you're feeling better too x

ArchiesMamaBird · 24/04/2017 15:52

Bella If you think you're a paranoid wreck now, just wait until baby is here. I remember when DS was 11.5 weeks old and had a snuffle. We had this bubble bath that had eucalyptus in it to help them to breathe when they have a cold. I poured it into his bath without thinking, then checked the label which said not to use it until 12 weeks old, so I had an absolute panic that I would somehow harm him because he was 3 days away from being 12 weeks old. So I emptied the whole bath and ran it again without the bubble bath in Grin #paranoidfirsttimeparent #ivelearnedtorelaxnow
