SLady on 100mg clomid and if all is OK on Fri, will be my first trigger. Fingers crossed!!

SummerHopin · 11/04/2017 13:24

Hi Slady yes we had our follow up scan this morning to see if either of the follicles from last time had developed.......and one of them had! I've got a 16.5mm follicle sitting there so the nurse said she would class that as a successful clomid cycle and she expects me to ovulate in about 4 days or so.

It was so unexpected we both got a bit choked up actually :) I thought we were going to confirm it hadnt worked and to get provera ready for 2 weeks time, but there it was - one dominant follicle! Good lining too she said so no reason why it wouldnt ovulate as normal, just a little later than normal.

I'm now booked for a progesterone test to confirm next Thursday, and we are on strict instructions to get at it like rabbits for the next week or so :)

SO happy to have positive news. I cant imagine what its going to be like seeing a baby on the scan - it was emotional enough seeing a dominant follicle!! lol :)

YouBoggleMyMind · 11/04/2017 13:40

Summer that is excellent news. Congrats and a good follicle too! Get DTD!!

SLady · 11/04/2017 13:43

Oh excellent news summer woo hoo! That made me chuckle about the dominant follicle on screen. So what CD are they expecting you to ovulate?

SummerHopin · 11/04/2017 14:40

Thanks guys.

Slady she expected another 4 days before ovulation as it is slightly on the small side but definitely counts as a dominant and she would expect that a follicle of that size is well on its way to ovulating.

I asked about doing OPKs and she actually advised not to. Everyone advises differently but this nurse said that there was no point because it wouldnt change the outcome it would just likely make me more stressed plus it might give us a false idea of when we ovulate. She simply told us to DTD EOD until after easter and then give it the 2ww and get in touch after then. I think I agree with her too actually, so have decided not to (she says now, it may be a different story come Saturday!)

.....I havent had a 2ww since finding out I had PCOS last year. Exciting! :)

satsoooma · 11/04/2017 14:46

Yay, congrats summer!

Excellent news Summer, really pleased for you!!

SLady · 11/04/2017 15:07

Eeeks so exciting summer
It's interesting as I was advised by my consultant to DTD every other day from CD9 - CD15 when I start my clomid. Definitely worth trying for a longer period of time if ovulation can happen later. Which I guess I would have done anyway

SummerHopin · 11/04/2017 15:35

I totally agree. Clomid is supposed to make things super regular which is why they (apparently) say that if you're not pg or got AF by CD32 then it hasnt worked......but that makes no sense with me as it is happening its just late.

I think thats the point about OPKs being risky too as you may think you've O'd and so stop DTD so eagerly, but that might not be the case at all!

Slady have you got an idea on when AF might come so you can get cracking on clomid?

How are you too barsons?

boggle - loving all your little signs and symptoms. really hoping that this is the one for you!

YouBoggleMyMind · 11/04/2017 15:38

Sounds like you've got yourself a good plan there Summer. Defo keep going with DTD longer than you think you need to. We didn't last cycle and it's likely it wasn't successful cos we missed it.

I wish it was Monday... xxx

SLady · 11/04/2017 16:09

It won't be for a while yet summer (my last cycle was 70 days) but the plan is to wait and by the time AF shows my nhs referral should be through and I can call as soon as AF is here and pick up my tablets on the nhs (they don't need to see me again as I've had my consultation already privately). If AF shows sooner than my referral then it will be my choice whether to pay for treatment or wait. But as I have no monitoring the cost of treatment is negligible anyway! Feeling quite in control at the moment :) I am so happy I had that private appointment

Definitely agree, no harm in DTD for a longer period of time!

AmyC86 · 11/04/2017 21:58

Hi girls xxx this thread is very positive at the moment, it's amazing!!!

fluffy you definitely should have the flu jab

boggle keep that chin up girl!!! Monday will soon be here for your BFP!!! I can still feel it in my waters!

Summer brilliant news about your folicale xx best of luck to you for the next 7-10 days of DTD.

No symptoms from my end at all, 5dpo, cd23 I think. Not counting, still happy and still have a feeling, trying to keep busy!!

Flowers all around!

FluffyEwok · 11/04/2017 22:01

Thanks Amy my doctor has none left so I'm looking found pharmacies

YouBoggleMyMind · 11/04/2017 22:20

whispers still no sign of AF. Tomorrow is 14dpo. Eep.

satsoooma · 12/04/2017 06:41

What symptoms did we have before our bfps ladies?

satsoooma · 12/04/2017 08:51

Er ... lots of cramping for a week around 7 dpo, almost none (or not the usual type) around 14 dpo. Not sore boobs, but kind of tingly? Waking up in the middle of the night, either because I was hungry, or because I needed to pee.

By 20 dpo (which I think is when you are testing?) I was also getting out of breath more quickly, starving and having lots of naps. I have super strong symptoms though .

OP posts:
YouBoggleMyMind · 12/04/2017 09:02

Yeah, I'll be testing at 19dpo. I am just waiting for my body to disappointment. AF is due tomorrow.

SummerHopin · 12/04/2017 09:13

OMG Boggle - have you had many symptoms that are different to previous cycles?

I had a few twinges in my tummy lastnight and a little bit of EWCM just before bed. No more this morning but hoping to see some over the next few days.

.....DH is officially grounded tonight and every other night for the next week on DTD duties :)

YouBoggleMyMind · 12/04/2017 09:16

Spotting from 6-9dpo and then it stopped. That has never happened before. If I spot, I get my period. My skin is pretty bad but I don't know if that's anything new. I don't know what to think. I keep freaking out that I'm going to go to the toilet and find spotting again, in which case I'll be out.

SummerHopin · 12/04/2017 09:58

Think positive thoughts Boggle, its all looking good so far.

Have you got your test of choice all ready to go for Monday then? Or are you going to go and get it at the weekend? I'm not sure I could resist being in the house with a test in your shoes right now! :)

YouBoggleMyMind · 12/04/2017 10:27

DH has my tests. I have 2 frers and 2 digitals. He won't let me test before Monday cos he's scared like I am.

SummerHopin · 12/04/2017 10:28

Aw, thats funny - my DH wants me to surrender all my OPKs tonight so that I dont get stressed over the weekend :)

AmyC86 · 12/04/2017 10:31

Have you had any obvious signs boggle
I keep getting hot flushes now and again, wake up with them mostly xx tingly nips, not sore boobs. Dreamt last night that my progesterone was 100.75 (wishful thinking)

SummerHopin · 12/04/2017 10:37

When are you testing Amy?

Also - what level of progesterone am I looking out for next Friday? I'll be CD26 but if ovulation happens Saturday as estimated I'll be 6dpo.

Not got to this stage yet before!
