Thread 6 already. We are a bunch of ladies who are either

  • humping (TTC)
  • by humping yet (waiting to TTC)
  • humped (preggers)

And everything in between!

We've had 7 BFPs in three months and we love a bit of lucky lube and a squinter on 9DPO - come and join the madness!

Well with DD I went into labour at work (I had a temp job in an office at 18) because she was early! So I've never carried a pregnancy beyond 35+5... I hope I'll still be ok up to 39 weeks if I make it that far but anyway I can work from home towards the end if travelling is uncomfortable

buzzmoon · 02/04/2017 12:30

Yeah I think that's probably the hardest part is just travelling, hopefully I can just work from home for as long as possible!

orangefolly · 02/04/2017 14:30

Pregnant people, I could do with some advice! We are thinking about holiday for June, and are torn between two very different types. Either adventurous and exciting - Iceland, or sunny and a bit more relaxed - S. France or Corsica. I am hoping I will be pregnant by then (but who knows). Am I going to be able to cope with an active holiday with quite a bit of driving? You all sound quite tired and nauseous! I don't want to put my life on hold waiting to get pregnant, but I'm wondering if I'll curse myself come the summer if I could have been gently lazing in the pool or with a book and I've shelled out for a 'dream' holiday I'm not enjoying (Iceland would be more expensive, we want to do the ring road around the country) and would be on the go every day.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 02/04/2017 15:14

Hmm orange personally I'd do the beach holiday just in case you do get nauseous... I'm not feeling sick (yet?!) but feeling quite tired and anxious. I wouldn't want to be driving around Iceland right now. But it affects everyone differently x

confusedat23 · 02/04/2017 15:40

Well Orange i don't normally do beach holidays as a rule because i get bored and i like walking a lot and doing things all the time but i dream of a babymoon on the beach or by the pool at the moment!... the thought of being all inclusive and not having to do anything is perfect! Lol

MrsC2017 · 02/04/2017 15:53

orange it's a hard call, you may well be perfectly fine and able for anything, could you do south of France and then do a little exploring if you are up for it but also having lazy beach option if you need it. I'm going in July to Majorca for a week and plan to lounge a lot!

HeyJupiter · 02/04/2017 16:47

Hope you had a lovely day with your nephews seven, I had a great day with my nieces :)

buzz that quilt is absolutely gorgeous! The colours are so lovely. Really like the idea of making a play mat, let me know if you find any good patterns.

orange I will let you know if I find any hints and tips about cats and babies. Luckily out cat goes outside to do her business so no litter tray to worry about but worth planning ahead for. Our cat is quite skittish so would be more likely to run away from a baby than sit on its face (or whatever other nonsense people spout about cats and babies..) As for the OPKs, are you testing multiple times a day? Do you have any other physical signs of ovulation? We just DTD every other day last month which seemed to work. And as for the holiday… honestly I would go relaxed and easy. Iceland is quite hardcore (but amazing) and don’t think I could do it at 6 weeks let alone several months (which you could easily be by then.) Maybe you could do Iceland later on when your son/daughter is older and can enjoy with you? Such a difficult decision and you just don’t really know how you might be feeling.

buzz and grumpy so exciting to think about maternity leave. All being well with my pregnancy would like to finish work at beginning of November for my end of November due date. Would then return 10-11 months later on three days a week. That would be the ideal.

Penguin27 · 02/04/2017 17:10

Orange, if it were me I think I'd go for the relaxing holiday... but like you say, you don't want to be putting your life on hold and miss out on amazing opportunities. If you think it's something that you'd rather do just you and your DH (with no kids in tow), then maybe think about whether it's best to do it now or wait 20 years!

Mummyme87 · 02/04/2017 19:07

Evening ladies,

Congratulations grumpy fabulous news!

And I'm sorry to see your news dancing look after yourself

I think I am 1DPO today, we have dtd lots this week and I've been trying not to stress. Hoping the tww will fly over

DancingUnicorn · 02/04/2017 19:18

Hi mummy!! :) Really hope you have a nice relaxing tww with a bfp at the end!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 02/04/2017 19:22

Hi mummy nice to see you and thanks! Hope your TWW goes quickly xx

Well I had some sad news this morning my last remaining grandma has died age 96. Im ok but my mum is devastated of course even though it was expected. So now I'm going to have to fly to holland for the funeral which is on Friday, of course I'm doing it as I want to support my mum but I'm nervous of basically doing 1 plane journey a week now until mid may! And I still don't know if I'm allowed Valium.. am seeing GP Wednesday. To be honest for short haul I can do without it now, but for LA I think I need it.

DancingUnicorn · 02/04/2017 19:43

Oh, grumpy, I'm so sorry. Sending lots of love. You are seeing the GP this week, right? I really hope you get some answers about the Valium, and if that's not possible they can give you a decent alternative. 💐💐

MrsC2017 · 02/04/2017 19:43

Oh grumpy I'm sorry lovely, such sad news, your poor mum xx

Seven0fNine · 02/04/2017 19:46

buzz I love your quilt! So beautiful! I saw a tutorial for a play mat that I wanted to do which used a hoola hoop chopped in half to dangle toys off. I'm desperate to make baby things but don't want to tempt fate. I guess I could have practice runs on other people's babies tho... There's plenty of them appearing!

orange I'm supposed to be going abroad in July with school. 30 odd hours on a coach! I'm hoping I get preggers very soon so I'm in 2nd trimester loveliness for the journey! Haha!

Sorry to hear about you grandma Grumpy hopefully the doc will sort you out on weds xxx

TheGrumpySquirrel · 02/04/2017 19:57

Thanks all yes I am seeing GP this Wednesday so will know where I stand re meds. I'm hoping that I can at least get a small amount (e.g. Just for the long haul flight) as I've taken it before and new meds make me anxious (e.g. That I might feel bad on them or be allergic) which kind of defeats the point....

TheGrumpySquirrel · 02/04/2017 19:59

And thanks for thinking of my mum. She's ok as can be given her mum's age however she did say this morning "you've only got 1 mummy" 😢

HopefullyDothButterNoParsnips · 02/04/2017 20:15

Awk grumpy so sorry to hear your news. I hope you're ok. Fingers crossed the doc can sort you out with some meds for the flight.

Orange I wouldn't risk Iceland. We're go by on safari in July and one of the reasons we're waiting to TTC until after - aside from worrying about tiredness and nausea - is that I really want to be able to enjoy the trip and all the lovely wine and food. Have the relaxing holiday now or wait until you get back to TTC x

penguinsandotters · 02/04/2017 21:24

grumpy sorry to hear about your grandma. Good luck with the GP and hope you can get your meds. All very exciting to hear about maternity leave. Are you having shared maternity leave? I've been researching that to see how it works.

buzz great quilt! I do wish I was more creative and crafty. Can't sew, draw or sing to save my life!

orange I was having the same dilemma about holidays this year. Don't want to put our lives on hold but equally worried about how I'd be if I managed to finally get pregnant! We decided not to risk any Zika areas so have stayed clear of those. Coincidentally we were also looking at Iceland as it's on my bucket list and either France, Spain or Italy. Can't decide whether to choose an adventurous holiday or relaxing one. Leaning towards relaxing all inclusive holiday at present.

penguin my app says I'm due today and no AF and a BFN. Good luck!

I'm just trying to keep myself sane whilst obsessively checking knickers for any sign of AF. Have decided not to test again until Thursday if no AF. All this waiting and wishing and hoping is driving me insane! Sorry for the rant.

buzzmoon · 02/04/2017 21:54

Sorry to hear that grumpy :( hope your mums okay, and hope docs sort you out with something for the flight.

Nice to hear you're well mummy fingers crossed for you in the next 2 weeks!

otters I've literally only just learned so it's not too late! I wanted to be able to so I could see baby stuff!

HeyJupiter · 02/04/2017 22:04

So sorry to hear about your grandma grumpy Flowers

Interesting about lack of AF otters, does it feel like it's coming?

penguinsandotters · 03/04/2017 06:58

Morning everyone. How are we all doing ?

jupiter Still no AF this morning. Doesn't feel like it's coming on. Equally no symptoms of pregnancy either Confused

HeyJupiter · 03/04/2017 07:18

Morning otters, was thinking about your lack of AF. When your doctor said that your levels hadn't been high enough to initiate ovulation this month (that's right yes?) could it be that your body might have tried again later in the month (this happens sometimes I've read) so you actually ovulated later and therefore your BFP/AF will be later too? I might be overly complicating things here!

Only went to the loo once during the whole night! Slept sooo much better ha :) Bring on Monday (urgh)

Have a good day everyone x

HbH · 03/04/2017 07:22

Morning girls!

Was off the wifi radar for most of yesterday! Am in beautiful Bologna.... finally.... had a bit of a #trainfail ! Dad had booked us train tickets from Milan (where we flew into) but we managed to get on one that took nearly three hours instead of under an hour.... eeeeesh! On a positive note, having an amusing 1 year old on a flight really distracts you from being scared when getting tipsy isn't an option

Sorry for hear about your Grandma Grumpy , can you do Holland via Eurostar, or have you not got time?

Interesting about no AB otters Keep is in the loop!!

Beautiful quilt Buzz Are you involved in a lot of wedding crafting?? I spent all last summer in a haze of glitter/glue/fabric/ribbon etc!

orange i also would be inclined for a chill hol!! TBH ive never fancied Iceland but Corsica is definitely on my list! Like others have said, there and S. France would be great places to combine lounging with doing things depending on your situation!! I had a lovely hol with a big group of friends in the Dordogne a few years ago which was the perfect mix!

Hi Mummy glad to hear you've covered things! Hope this is your month!

Hope you're on the mend now jupiter

Well the sore nips have kicked in... could barely tolerate a bra yesterday... i so know why you were chaffing about soft bras the other day!! (I'm late to the party!)

We've come up with a good hide the drinking strat... lots of glass swapping if we're out. And even better found some alcohol free beer at the local supermarket. I'm way more of a prosecco girl but needs must! Its hidden in our room to sneak out when needed!!

Any testers this week?

MrsC2017 · 03/04/2017 07:42

Morning!
Enjoy Italy hb! Very jealous!
dancing thinking of you today xx
Right time to get through this Monday!

Penguin27 · 03/04/2017 07:44

Morning ladies... it's Monday again (boo!)

Grumpy I'm sorry to hear about your grandma. Sending you and your mum lots of hugs Flowers

Hb hope you have an amazing time in Italy - send us some pictures of the beautiful views!

Otters fx that AF stays away for you and you get a bfp in a few days!

I think today is CD1 for me, there was a tinge of pink this morning. I've got hot water bottles and painkillers on hand... Onwards and upwards!

Have a good day everyone.
