Thread 6 already. We are a bunch of ladies who are either

  • humping (TTC)
  • by humping yet (waiting to TTC)
  • humped (preggers)

And everything in between!

We've had 7 BFPs in three months and we love a bit of lucky lube and a squinter on 9DPO - come and join the madness!

hb that's not right at all!! I'd ring back and complain! And make sure that you get booked in for your scan at 12 weeks not just first appointment!

tigger I'm really excited to start pregnancy yoga! I've looked and a class local to me do it but only from 14 weeks! I think I'm gonna need any help I can get for this labour malarky so some breathing and calmness will definitely help! :)

NaturWilde · 28/03/2017 16:18

How many weeks are you Tigger83? When did your morning sickness kick in? I've very very strong lines but no symptoms...officially missed my period today! So it's 15dpo, 4 weeks and 1 day Grin

And...prune juice! Not a whole box of it though, she effects are too immediate!

I did hypnobirthung last time - alone, with a great CD set. Really helped as ended up 16 days over and a 10lb baby, induction... but wonderful birth!

HeyJupiter · 28/03/2017 16:18

Hb that sounds very late! And 18 minutes? Or did you mean 180? I was told that my booking in appt could last up to 2 hours. They need to do your 12 week scan by 13+3 latest (or might be 13+6?) so your midwife will have to book you in immediately afterwards. Definitely do the self-referral… all sounds a bit strange to me but maybe thats how they do it in your primary care trust and you get the scan the day after or something.

Yay buzz congrats to your DP, wonderful news. Hope you’ve enjoyed your carvery. I think the glucose test is really normal. I might get another one later because my BMI is higher than it should be Blush but think it’s standard too.

Tigger we’re definitely going to do hypnobirthing. My sister found it really helpful in her first pregnancy. The pain could easily be ligament pain. Does it get better with rest?

HeyJupiter · 28/03/2017 16:19

Wilde it's so lovely to see the strong lines. I basically don't have any symptoms either and I'm 5+3... sort of wanting to feel some nausea or something to confirm it's all happening (I imagine I will be taking that back in a week or so when I'm feeling vommy)

Penguin27 · 28/03/2017 16:23

Congratulations to your DP buzz, that's exciting news!!

Hb that's definitely not right, I'd phone back and ask to speak to someone else! Don't let them fob you off, she sounds like she hasn't got a clue.

I forgot who asked about constipation, but I'd recommend Fybogel. It's available anywhere (Tesco is where I got mine) and is just the "husk" (??) of a fruit, so it just pushes everything along nicely. It doesn't get absorbed into your blood like Senna does, so there's no chance of your gut getting lazy and relying on it.

No sunshine for me, stuck indoors all day.

buzzmoon · 28/03/2017 16:26

wilde I'm 6+3 now and have no symptoms apart from being an emotional wreck and a bit tired! :)

Tigger83 · 28/03/2017 16:26

I'm 9 weeks today Smile sickness kicked in around 5 weeks, haven't been sick just constantly nausea. Exhaustion the same, functioning just about lol. Both nausea and exhaustion a little better this week but by no means gone! My face has exploded with spots but clean and clean deep cleansing lotion is helping a bit.

Seeing midwife again on Friday for the rest of the booking in appointment, they do it in 2 bits here. Had first lot of screening bloods just the downs, Eduards etc to go.

The pain comes and goes and no pain when weeing but does feel around the kidney area? Wondering if it's constipation pains or ligament or kidney infection (doesn't feel like a water infection)

I'm starting to worry about the 12 week scan and what it might show. Just so desperate for a happy healthy baby.

Wedding plans motoring on date set for sept next year!

MrsC2017 · 28/03/2017 17:04

grumpy and penguin yayyyyyyy for POAS tomorrow!! I'm excited!!
hb that sounds very odd! I would self refer if you can, people are very useless sometimes!!
natur hello fellow Irish!! Symptoms kicked in bang on 6 weeks although I'm much better this week than last week and seem to be improving every day, I'm 7+3 now!
tigger pears and kiwis are your friends and porridge, especially if you can get some flaxseed on it! Lots of water too!
buzz whoop congratulations that's great news for you both!!
laura u poor thing how stressful, DHs brother told the venue to keep and eye on SIL because she's volatile as hell, does your venue have their own security, I know you don't want to resort to that but if it means you have a relaxed day might be worth considering!
red May will fly in and you are right to do what's right for you!
jupiter hope you had a lovely day off!!
I would suck at hypnobirthing, I'm very anxious about 12 week appointment because I'm afraid they will turn down my c section request and then I'll panic!

Penguin27 · 28/03/2017 17:26

I'm no expert tigger, but I'd say it's ligament pain. Bound to be a bit of pulling and stretching going on in there!

MrsC are you asking for an elective c section? Fx they are open to this for you!

Hotpinkangel19 · 28/03/2017 17:57

Hi! please can i join you? I came off the pill on 26/2/17, ovulated on 12/3/17 and first period finished today :-) just hoping i get back to 'normal' soon!!! x

MrsC2017 · 28/03/2017 17:58

Yes penguin had a lot of issues post birth after ds so am requesting one on those grounds, my gp has written a letter of support but technically it's at their discretion whether they grant it or not!

DancingUnicorn · 28/03/2017 18:24

Hi pink!!

Mrsc really hope they give you your request!!

Hb yeah, is really recommend self referral if it's an option. Waiting for 12 weeks for your first appointment seems crazy! And my booking said it could last two hours (lasted about one, but I'm apparently super low risk starting out!)

Jupiter any news from your sister yet?

Penguin27 · 28/03/2017 18:59

Sorry you went through such a hard time with DS, MrsC... I really hope they give you the c-section** 🤞

HeyJupiter · 28/03/2017 18:59

Hi hotpink, hope everything returns to normal really soon :) Welcome to the thread.

Dancing my sister has started getting mild contractions so we’re all on high alert! I’ve got a feeling Thursday may be the day - if not definitely before the weekend :) So bloody excited!!

Tigger it might be digestive. I’ve had all manner of cramping and pulling around my left hip and pelvic area. In moments of panic I think it’s ectopic but usually it passes after a bowel movement! Maybe mention it to midwife on Friday? Yay for wedding planning.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 28/03/2017 19:03

MrsC you had your DS at 19 (like me) right? What happened was it EMCS? If you don't mind me asking (feel free not to answer).

TheGrumpySquirrel · 28/03/2017 19:04

I've had such a busy day at work (just leaving, been here since 7:45am) so not really been able to think about POAS tomorrow or symptoms but I have been very thirsty all day.

TheGrumpySquirrel · 28/03/2017 19:07

Also your womb is quite low down right? I'm having twinges but just above hip bone level so maybe just gas?

Penguin27 · 28/03/2017 19:14

Welcome pink!!

That's a long day grumpy, you must be knackered!! I think your womb is right down low near your bladder, so that could be gas... Confused

TheGrumpySquirrel · 28/03/2017 19:22

Ovia loves a bit of gas! She has reckoned I'm pregnant every month I'm so gassy 😂

TheGrumpySquirrel · 28/03/2017 19:26

It would be lovely to get a BFP tomorrow or at the weekend so I can share the news in person with my DD.. she is going away for easter hols with her dad on Monday and I won't see her for 2 weeks 😭

HbH · 28/03/2017 19:36

Ah really hope you do grumpy you totally deserve it!

Welcome pink

Ah Jupiter SO exciting to have baby cuddles so soon!

Just about to get on the googling re. Self referral.... utter bullsh from the doctors... I'd totally read about a two hour appointment and they did indeed say 18 minutes!

MrsC2017 · 28/03/2017 20:31

Aww grumpy that would be lovely!! Fx for you! And yeah ovia is mad for gas 😂!
No I had a natural birth, no time for an epidural, had an episiotomy that healed poorly, I was in a lot of pain afterwards, couldnt sit down for weeks, and I also seriously damaged my pelvic floor resulting in many months of physio for me, the labour happened so fast, I was very traumatised afterwards and the pain didn't help, anyway I know there can be a fear culture around childbirth so I'm very conscious that I don't want to frighten anyone so apologies if I do, it was just my experience and everyone is different. Anyway I really physically and mentally don't want to go through it all again so Im hoping they give me what I want but it's no guarantee unfortunately!

MrsC2017 · 28/03/2017 20:31

Aw jupiter how exciting keep us updated!!!

TheGrumpySquirrel · 28/03/2017 20:39

MrsC that does sound horrid, I would feel the same way!! I hope you get your wish. I was very lucky with my birth - which was also very fast, and at only 35+5. I'm worried this time around as I'm older that my bits might not be as "flexible" / I'll go to term and have a baby with a bigger head!! 😵 it's certainly no walk in the park - women are so amazing.

DancingUnicorn · 28/03/2017 20:57

I think it's useful to hear lots of experiences mrsc. I know so little about childbirth. Or babies for that matter. Got a lot of reading to do I guess. It seems completely reasonable to ask for elcs this time after the trauma last time. Really hope you get what you'd like!

Bed for me. New bedtime is 9pm... but excited for testers tomorrow. Good luck! Hope you guys sleep ok!!
