Another month, another period. I was due af yesterday but had no sign but today I've had brown tinged cm so she'll be here tomorrow.

Anyone else out for March already? Feel free to join in my misery lol

Hey everyone!

Sorry I've been off for a few days, we had some friends visiting so had to try and pretend to be normal and not spend my day MN and PCOAS. Grin

Did a quick lurk and read! Welcome to everyone who has recently joined and good luck to those who are starting their two week wait.

Just got second day of High result so hoping peak is around the corner. Already dreading the TWW, I already know I'll be completely loola throughout 😂😂😂

What method do you use? Do you feel temping is more accurate than OPKs?

satsoooma · 21/03/2017 17:11

Man, the first week of the TWW is so dull! Haven't even got any good symptoms to spot.

Aggy106 · 21/03/2017 18:08

Hey,

Thanks for the welcome! Hope you get your peak soon Firsttime.

I temp and use opks, I've only been temping for a couple of months so still getting to grips with it. I use Boots opks, those little cheapie stick things which seem to work ok but it's hard to tell a high from a peak and wondering if it's better to fork out for the clear blue ones, does anyone use these and are they worth it? Thanks Smile

boatrace30 · 21/03/2017 19:04

CD20 and no sign of ovulation 🙁🙁. What's the difference between a high and a peak? I'm using cheapies and assumed I was just waiting for a line darker than the control line

Oysterbabe · 21/03/2017 20:23

Satsooma I remember being bored a lot when I was pregnant with DD, I think it's a symptom Wink

florafoxtrot · 21/03/2017 20:30

Agreed Satsooma although I do enjoy being less mental in the first week of the TWW - by this time next week I'll be climbing walls!
boatrace the high and peak chat is based on the Clear Blue OPKs as they show a high when they detect estrogen (shows your are on your way to ovulation) and then peak when they detect lutealizing (sp) Hormone (LH) which is the last hormone generated before ovulation occurs. Hope that helps

boatrace30 · 21/03/2017 21:08

Oh thanks flora! That makes sense. Cheap opks won't detect estrogen I guess so will just look out for the dark line.
Satsooma, I feel for you. Fingers crossed. Xx

Thingymaboob · 21/03/2017 21:47

I am so out for this month. Have not DTD at all during fertile window as have had nasty chest infection. We tried to DTD yesterday but I clearly wasn't into it and my DH put a stop to it as he was getting paranoid not paranoid. Bugger. Today is CD15 and I have no longer got EWCM. I'm furious.

Hopelessworrier84 · 21/03/2017 22:17

Hello, thinking I will be joining you ladies

32
TTC1

We started trying last month but it was a disaster. It was v much talked about, wanted and planned. But when it came to DTD DH just couldn't perform. He felt terrible. It happened once in the fertile window and then nothing. How do I make things less stressful this time round?
Should I use opks and then just not tell him? We haven't DTD since...this is a disaster :(

Thingymaboob · 21/03/2017 22:54

Hopelessworrier84 I'm really in the same boat as you. My DH cannot perform if he knows it's ovulation day so I had to stop using OPKs. Just DTD every 2 days or so, especially around middle of cycle. My DH is guaranteed to lose his hard on if I talk about ovulation. He said "it takes away the passion and romance". Welcome to my world buster!!!

Hopelessworrier84 · 22/03/2017 00:10

Oh Thingymaboob it's just stressful isn't it? It's hard enough from our pov having to make sure we're all set..but now I have no idea how to tackle this ad we've literally not plucked up the courage to DTD for 2 weeks. I'm thinking just back off and not mention it at all...

AmandaP86x · 22/03/2017 00:33

Hi girls looking to join for some advice on clear blue ovulation kits

age 28

TTC #1

Cycle 5 after misscarridge in October.

So my cycles range between 30-35 days. Just wondering when the best time to use the clear blue kits? The instructions say FMU but iv heard a lot about doing it during the day. Can someone shed some light?

Also the flashing smiley doesn't mean ur ovulating does it??

I'm so confused lol thanks in advance for any advice xxxx

Firsttimeandclueless · 22/03/2017 07:20

Hi Aggy boat race , familiar faces and anyone new waves

Do you find the temping tricky? I've never tried it but may give it a go next month I'd BFN. I forked out for the CB ones, because I have no patience. They are very pricey but I do feel they are working very well. A bit like the digital pregnancy tests, there is no looking at lines (I do anyway, but that's a whole other problem 😂😂). An empty circle is low fertility, a flashing smiley is High fetillity where it has detected a rise in estrogen so l knows ovulation is soon, then a steady smiley that doesn't flash means Peak. For agesss i thought this meant I was ovulating right away but I read online that you get your peak, roughly, 12-36 hours before an egg is released.

Oh Satsooma you're doing so well though! I would have found a million symptoms by now..I really would!

Thingy I don't tell my DH anything!! Literally nothing. 😂😂😂 All he knows is that we're trying for a baby and I appear to get very frisky for about one week a month. I tell him it must be the hormones from coming off the pill. 😂😂

My Gran was married for 52years and says you should only tell a man what he needs to know. She's hilarious. 😂😂

Firsttimeandclueless · 22/03/2017 07:23

*If...not I'd.

*Know....not knows.

Too early to type 😂😂

boatrace30 · 22/03/2017 07:29

It's really hard - DH can struggle though now we're on cycle 7 he is used to it. I think just DTD regularly throughout cycle is the answer rather than having one high stakes week.
How annoying thingme. We ended up out one month for similar reasons.

Hi firsttime. It took me a few months to get used to temping but it seems to be going well now. You have to take temp as soon as you wake up so took a while for me to remember that. I still miss the odd day but that doesn't seem to matter too much.

You need a BBT thermometer (I got one for about £10) as they measure to 2 decimal points. Xx

boatrace30 · 22/03/2017 07:30

It's worth saying that by the time temping detects ovulation it's too late... but I do it for reassurance that I am ovulating because of pcos

Aggy106 · 22/03/2017 07:55

I don't know if it's true and can't remember where I read it (sorry I'm totally hopeless) but I heard that if you dtd regularly throughout your cycle by the time you have a peak your body is 'used' to it and is a more habitable place for sperm And hopefully an embryo. Although as I'm typing this sounds a bit loopy.

I don't find bbt too tricky, I do it at the same time every morning. I've found trying to interpret the results a bit more difficult but think I'm starting to get the hang of it and actually starting to find it useful.

Thanks for the advice on CB Firsttime, I think I'll get some this month and give them a whirl Smile

Wingingit88 · 22/03/2017 07:57

Stupid period. Spotted then. Stopped giving me false hope only to come today. 🍷To April!

Aggy106 · 22/03/2017 07:58

Just found the article I read about dtd throughout the month: www.google.co.uk/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2015/oct/12/will-having-sex-every-day-increase-my-fertility

Hope this helps Smile

florafoxtrot · 22/03/2017 09:52

That is interesting Aggy - I've been a bit suspicious that my body might be attacking sperm as its not been used to it (we used condoms before starting to TTC) but onto month 9 so hopefully it is now getting used to it!
Amanda I am a fan of the CB digital OPKs as they are easy to interpret. The leaflet should tell you when to start testing based on your average cycle length.
A flashing smiley is detecting estrogen which means you are in your fertile window - its the static smiley which shows that you will ovulate in the next 12-36 hours as it detects LH.
Hope that helps!

Mamabooksbabynumber2 · 22/03/2017 11:35

Hi ladies, I wanted to ask if it is possible to have too much dtd during Fw? I am in the middle of the Fw and we have dtd 5 days in a row. With 3 days left of Fw. This is our 2nd cycle. Is it possible the speed won't be as good by doing it too many times?

Mamabooksbabynumber2 · 22/03/2017 11:35

Meaning not as many sperm*

Oysterbabe · 22/03/2017 18:13

The month I conceived DD we dtd twice a day for 2 weeks (honeymoon) We'd been trying for 5 months at that point. I think it's fine.

BlueSpottyTiger · 22/03/2017 19:31

Mama i dtd every day except af.. for pretty much 3 cycles with dd Blush
Even though i know you only have a small fertile window each cycle lol
As soon as af goes (cd 3 today) im just going to start everyday again..as i ovulate early and have shorter cycles than average.. but use opks to track them🤗

aggy i have often wondered that actually! X
