Congratulations Ambi. really hoping this thread brings more bfps.

Still no af here. Thinking about doing anotuerh test although not wanting to because of mondays bfn. Bobos aching. Had heavy cramp feeling. Thought started AF yesterday and today as very wet down there (sorry if tmi) but no blood lots of cm tho.
Spots come up too.

Speaking to consultant tomorrow. Just so annoyed with my body for not doing what it is told. I feel like these symptoms must be all in my head.

waiting4bambino · 04/04/2007 22:34

Congratulations to all the BFP's on here! What a lucky thread!
Just had to catch up on loads of reading as I havent been on for a few days... Been concentrating on taking my temps (which have been very erratic!) - I'm not used to what to expect yet on temping, and also have been monitoring the CM.
Can i ask a question? How do you actually monitor your CM, girls??!!!! Do you check the tissue when you've been to the loo, or do you put your finger inside and see what appears?! Sorry to ask! Or maybe you just check your knickers every now and again?
Kazza25, we're on the same CD, perhaps we can be CM pals?!!!
Also have been drinking the grapefruit juice to try and increase the CM etc, its not as bad tasting as i thought it was!

Also persuaded dh to take some multivitamins designed for men, that have a good concentration of zinc in them, which i've heard can help the sperm be more active!

If anyone can answer my embarrassing question I would be so grateful!

Hi MrsMcEasterBunny, how are you?

kazza25 · 04/04/2007 22:45

Hi Waiting for Bambino. glad you're back on as remembered we were cd pals!!
not sure about how to check cm ...have a feeling it may involve putting your finger up! I've not tried that yet but will if don't conceive in next few months!
i am taking temps for ist time this month though. (not sure if i'm ovulating as few long cycles and thought it might give me some indication)
never bothered with it last time as only took 2 months to conceive ds. am using ds's ear thermometer! temps in last week have all been roughly 34.8 (we reckon it gives a low reading, but at least i'll keep using the same one so any jump will register)
also another question, i'm counting cd1 as last thursday, although af didn't arrive until the evening, is this correct??
this is so informative on here!!

waiting4bambino · 04/04/2007 22:52

Hi Kazza! Wasnt expecting any response so soon, as I've noticed most people are on here earlier in the day! Yes, I think its correct to count the start day of your AF as CD1 - no matter what time it starts - mine always seems to arrive overnight!
This is my 1st month temping too, but my temps have been around the 36.6 mark, which compared to the example graph is quite high.... To be honest, I think it all depends on what I've worn in bed!! And whether I've drunk some squash that i keep next to me or summat!! Even if the heat is on, i thought that might affect it too! I'm so paranoid - just using this 1st month as a way of getting used to it etc! Unless I get pg this month .
How long have you been ttc and what day do you start bd -ing on? I'm gonna be a crazy nypmho this month - i've told dh what to expect and he says he's up for it! We'll see when we're both too tired and i tell him we gotta get down to it!!!!!

BeckleSpeckledEgg · 05/04/2007 00:34

TigersEasterChick - glad the appt went well with the docs! Good that they are getting straight on with blood tests and scans and stuff. I used Clomid to conceive first pg due to really long cycles like yours and it worked 2nd cycle with me so fingers crossed!!!
AwenBadBunny - your signs look promising, IKWYM about symptoms being in your head but you have had some of these for a while now haven't you? Maybe mention all this to consultant tomorrow? It does sound like there might be something hormonal going on and they may want to pg test you anyway.
MrsMcEasterBunny - Hi!

fifisworld · 05/04/2007 07:09

Hi all!

Was on the March TTC thread, but AF hasn't come and was due 31st March.

Don't get hopes up though, because i'm having a tough time, so i think it's to do with a bit of stress!

I won't add myself to the list yet.

Big huge congrats to daisy and ambi. That's so great and i hope you have fab pregnancies xx

Caz10 · 05/04/2007 08:59
  • another lsp last night on a dippy stick then this morning used a proper posh expensive test - BFP!!! I am totally in shock and trying not to get too excited!!

I was only due af on 1st or thereabouts. But the line was definitely there!!! Dh wants me to go to the docs TODAY I think he is still in shock too - but I think I will get the same reaction as you did Daisy?I don't want a grumpy GP to spoil this for me!

What will they do anyway, do I need a sample or is it a blood test?

Aaaaa in shock

BellaBear · 05/04/2007 09:00

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Brill!

jhyesmum · 05/04/2007 09:11

excellent caz!!!! Well done!!! xxx

Caz10 · 05/04/2007 09:15

Thank you so much! It is great being able to tell someone!

Of course, optomistic person that I am, I am now reading all about ectopic pregnancies and m/c - the internet is NOT always a good thing! Might have to go cold turkey!!

Basic question I'm sure, but is a pregnancy measured from the 1st day of your last period?

Gracie14 · 05/04/2007 09:20

Morning all,

Congrats Caz10, so pleased for you

Well, I have pulled myself together after yesterday. Re read my post and realised that I think I may be going mad. I promised myself I wouldn't get worked up and do stupid things like search for lines that aren't there, on tests I shouldn't be doing anyway

So now I am more composed I realise that it is too early to test and that patience is what I need, so please forgive me.

Anyway enough madness from me, how is everybody?

Thankyou MrsMc for your advice I am too early and really I should wait until I miss a period which is what I will now do. Hope your well

Caz10 - Thanks for advice about the website, I may use it at some point if I need too. But I think I'll forget about the test that I did the other day as I know it really wasn't what I wanted it to be. Good luck for the rest of your pregnancy, take good care of yourself

scorpio1 · 05/04/2007 09:24

hello, and yay to caz!

Caz-yes,it is measured from first day of last period.and at the docs they will only want a urine sample,if anything.they are usually a bit grumpy to be honest! congrats though

this thread is doing so well isnt it??

daisy-dont let them put you off.your first midwife appointment will be around 8-10 weeks, and will last around an hour,so plenty of chance to chat.midwives are much nicer IMO.

Hi everyone else, hoping you are all ok. bfp graduates, how you feeling? [jealous] [but very happy for you]

AF still not here for me,due tomorrow.i cant tell either way, to be honest.im trying to ignore it.dp says just wait-i will still be pg in a week if i am now,and i guess thats right that he is right!my EDD would be 17 dec anyway, too close to xmas for comfort (thats my excuse anyway)!anyone want to speculate on pg symptoms with me for fun today?please humour me!

have a good day x

scorpio1 · 05/04/2007 09:25

where is the clear blue fairy? she might stop us all from going mad about wanting to test!

daisyboohoo · 05/04/2007 09:26

congratulations Caz

So happy for you..

It's only the 5th and thats 3 BFPs already!! And a lot that are looking very positive.. Fertility Charm is staying right next to my computer but someone may have to start the link again for me to stay as I'm having real trouble opening it

Caz I'm still not really sure what I need to do with regards to docs....
I explained that I had just found out I was preganant ...
Receptionist thought SO?
I said its my first baby and I'm not really sure what I need to do?
Silence
Do I need to make appointment?
Come and collect a pack!
End of conversation!!

It really burst my bubble!! I think from what others said you have first appointment at 7/8 wks to get you booked in for 12 week scan.
I'm at work tomorrow and tues and surgery will be closed over weekend so i think I'll go next weds.

I was really suprised because although I have little to do with them, I've always found my surgery really helpful..

My parents are down tomorrow and will start their usual nagging about how they'd love a grandchild. Not sure if dp will be able to keep quite as he's crap at secrets. I want to tell but dont. If we tell my family we have to tell his family. if we tell his family his sisters boys will know (they couldnt keep it from them). If nephews know they will tell dp's son (by ex). He will tell his mum who will make our life harder than she does already!!

Managed to fool friends last night. Just said I was on pain killers for bad knee. it meant they both got to drink so no complaints!! We or rather they, made lots of plans for drunken summer days, jugs of pimms, boozy cheesy clubbing nights and adventure parks. I sniggered as I went along with it...

daisyboohoo · 05/04/2007 09:38

Scorpio Please test soon....

I cant bear the suspense. I'm at work all day tomorrow and no chance to pop in. Parents down saturday and no chance again. (any hint of broodiness and my mum will be ordered baby stuff and knitting!!)

I'm feeling fine. Quite full of energy. And trying really hard not to get too excited... I should be due around 11th december. Great excuse to miss christmas altogether!!

Ambi · 05/04/2007 09:42

Yeay, Caz hurrah, suspense is over, congrats.

I'm feeling really pg now, since the second test yesterday I've felt all the regular symptoms (or are they in my head, who knows) I've booked an appt with docs next week anyways, don't care if I'm wasted her time, I've been 3 times in 5 years..

Don't normally get on pooter at weekends, but will make an exception for you scorpio, you must be in knots!!

scorpio1 · 05/04/2007 10:42

i am a little bit, but really trying not to hink about it.the only thing i have had that is anything to do with being pg was that spotting i had for that 1 day...i do have other stuff going on but it could all be attributed to AF arrival.my last 2 pgs i havent even had bfp until 5 weeks, and i would only be 4 weeks tomorrow/saturday, so i am trying so hard to ignore it and just expect my period.my dp is very laid back about these things, which is helping a bit.did you all get bfps before af due? sorry if i sound teasy, i am just going a bit potty, and just know i am gonna be on here in a few days saying my period is here.i am trying to convince myself im not pg to save my sanity!!
