Ok so I am bravely attempting to set up a new thread for anyone tTC.
Plug in your stats ...
Share the highs of your journey
Limit the lows - yes it's a challenging time but being negative gets you down.
I'm thinking positivity breeds positivity and positive thinking gets positive results -
It may take some of us a little longer than others ... but does that matter? I think not.

New rules - instead of saying af due ... we say bfp due ...

So here goes ... my stats
Age 38
Cycle 3
Bfp due 14/02

Just as Anna described above. I wonder how far DH and I will get - we've only managed it 4x last FW!!!

Hippychic79 · 12/02/2017 17:39

Facking hell ... 4 times last cycle ... wow I've dtd 4 potential conceivable times across 4 cycles ... if we needed more than one sperm I'd be in trouble lol Wink xxx

Hi, I joined early on and then disappeared a while as things got busy. 27,ttc#1, cycle 2, cd 17 of 26 day cycles so bfp due 22nd feb. Fx for everyone this cycle is the cycle!!!

Charley2016 · 12/02/2017 17:44

I've tried a different approach each cycle. First two we did every 2 days, 3rd was a bit sporadic as I was away a bit and last month was every day for 5days before ovulation. However, with me being away I just looked back and realised the last 3 months we've only managed up until the day before ovulation. Think I'll make sure we go up until a few days after this month!

SalemTheTeenageWitch · 12/02/2017 18:09

Doesn't it all just make you wonder how people get pregnant "accidentally" or "without trying"!!!!

I asked my Mum and she just said it 'happened'!!!!!! It's not bloody 'just happened' for us ladies on here (although it will!!!).

Do you ladies think I'll be ok to have a few glasses of bubbly next Friday to celebrate my week off or is that frowned upon? I haven't had a drink since NYE xxx

sarahboro1 · 12/02/2017 18:16

Well looks like we're already doing it this cycle without knowing!! Dtd cd8 and cd10 so far so if we do cd12, 14 (which will be my bday!!) 16, 18, do you think that would be ok?? Xx

sarahboro1 · 12/02/2017 18:25

Whereabouts are you on your cycle Salem? I think it will be fine as long as you don't go on a bender!! I know plenty of people who've not known they were pregnant!! Xx

EMHW123 · 12/02/2017 18:41

salem go for it! Even if you are pregnant the wee bean doesn't have a placenta so I think you are grand..... I'm sticking to that after line of thought having had 2 glasses of prosecco earlier .....

Blondienut · 12/02/2017 19:04

Have the bubbles Salem......we can't put our lives on hold- it makes it too stressy I think if we are always saying 'I better not just in case'

Ladies I think I finally have a opk that's positive this evening! Hubby arrives home from USA first thing in the morning so here's hoping .....

Anna2006 · 12/02/2017 19:27

Yeh we've tried various each month. The first month we fell pregnant we did it every other day, so DTD four times over fertile week.

The past month we DTD 10 times
Over FW. Still fuck all happened. How does that work haha

Hippychic79 · 12/02/2017 19:27

That's positive blondie :))) have you got ewcm? You get and jump on oh tomorrow morning xxx

OP posts:
Hippychic79 · 12/02/2017 19:29

Welcome back glittery :))) xxx
Salem - is say you'll only need a glass or two anyway if you haven't drunk since ny :))) go for it - no judgement on this thread xxx

Hippychic79 · 12/02/2017 19:33

Sarah & Anna ... Wow you ladies get a lot more sex than me ... I've got dtd envy here :)))
I think even if you get the timing right - it's a 20-40% chance it'll happen each cycle - well that's what my books say ... who knows ladies ....
it does make you wonder though why it just freaking happens for some people...
I can just tell that all of you ladies on here will make amazing parents and i have no doubt in my mind that we will all have beautiful babies soon xxx

Anna2006 · 12/02/2017 19:40

Yeh god knows why it doesn't work. Some of it is just pot luck I think. We just need some of the luck!

Determined to try be relaxed this month. I've been far to emotional and upset since the mc and thinknit is effecting things. So positive and calm thoughts this cycle only.

Swim little swimmers!! Got a while to wait until fw tho haven't we hippy ☹️

mrsbarnettsbaby · 12/02/2017 19:49

Have a drink. I had a beer yesterday watching the rugby. I'm having a glass of red tonight watching call the midwife. I think 1 or 2 are fine when you haven't got a bfp. If you are pg it is so early it will be fine.
Hopefully we'll get some bfps by next weekend! FX

sarahboro1 · 12/02/2017 19:58

Ooo mrsb you've just reminded me call the midwife!!!

Hippy we really don't!! We could quite happily dtd once a month but I think hubby has taken it as a challenge to his manhood and is really good at timing dtd in my cycle. It's a chore by the end of it all but we do manage to have a giggle about it so it's not too serious and pressured (we'll only in my head it is!!) xx

Blondienut · 12/02/2017 19:59

Hippy I will certainly be jumping on him in morning- he has already been warned. Sorry now if tmi but re the EWCM- I have a substantial increase in CM yesterday and today but it's not EW nor milky but kind of inbetween (whoever thought I'd be describing my bodily fluids to strangers- sorry ladies). It's one think I often am concerned about - dh is bringing home some preseed from USA which is supposed to carry the little swimmers though !!!

Moo31 · 12/02/2017 20:46

Hi all sorry I've been a bit quiet I've had a busy weekend. Hope everyone is doing well. I'm caught up on everyone's posts and will try to respond ...

Anna - welcome. So sorry to hear about mc. You're in the right place for support and positivity :)

Salem - drink the bubbly! Soon you'll not be able to so enjoy it will you still can Wine

Mrsb - fx for you Smile

Sarah - glad to hear there's someone else like us - once a month if even before ttc lol life is just so busy and the weeks just fly by and before you know it another month has passed! But now he's the one calculating and researching and saying right we are dtd'ing on this night, this night, this night etc we have to do the hard work in 9 mths so they can do the hard work now!

Hippy - sorry to hear you had a bad start to the day but glad things are better now. Hope af clears off for you soon.

Blondie - looks good, your poor oh won't even have a chance to get his coat off tomorrow morning! Haha! Grin

Charley I can't remember what your update was and can't scroll back to the prev page for fear of loosing this message but I hope all is good with you :)

Glittery - welcome back :)

Re SMEP I've heard it mentioned on here before but hadn't looked into it, when someone above set out what it was I ordered oh up the stairs! We're on CD10 so have missed day 8 but we'll try an keep it up from here (although I'm away Thurs to Sun but we'll have a quickie Thurs am which is day 14 and then hopefully I'll get a positive opk on Sunday and we can dtd when I get home on Sunday night) - I'm exhausted just thinking about it! But we're on cycle 6 so willing to try it. I'm also drinking 2 x raspberry leaf tea a day and we are now using conceive plus. if when we are lucky this month I won't know which of those it us down to!

Moo31 · 12/02/2017 20:54

Oh and Salem thanks for doing the list Star

I also knew I'd miss a few people (sorry!) ...
Archies - sorry to hear about your horrible day yest, hope you are feeling better today!

Rose - did your mum's say anything today? Maybe she has a special sort of intuition Wink

Everyone who is on half term enjoy the lack of Sunday blues this evening and your week off and Anna enjoy Florence :) I'm off to visit my cousin and her 2 dc this weekend really looking forward to it!

sarahboro1 · 12/02/2017 21:04

Evening moo!! Good to hear there's others like us too!! Used to think there was something wrong with us when we didn't really have high drives but it sounds like we're quite normal!! What's the raspberry leaf tea like?? I love a cuppa but not sure I'd like flavoured ones?? Xx

bakingmad83 · 12/02/2017 21:06

Sorry for not replying to each item from everyone, going to make an effort next week to do so, just coming on quickly before I'm off to bed.

Had missed AF had showed up for you Hippychic, next month is the month!

Don't think we'll be able to do SMEP with DH's shift work, but good luck to those of you giving it a go!

I actually did a reproductive physiology module at uni - that seems such a long time ago now! - and remember after that wondering how anyone ever conceived, as so much needs to be just so to be successful. It was such a contrast to what you're told as a teen, that there's such a high chance of getting pregnant, it only takes one time etc. In hindsight maybe we shouldn't have bothered with contraception after DS was born, but he was so demanding with feeding and such a poor sleeper, that I couldn't have managed less than an 18m gap even if my periods had returned sooner.

Anna, I'm another fan of Florence, we went there as part of our honeymoon. You'll have a wonderful time...and it's a lovely name if you have a girl :)

sarahboro1 · 12/02/2017 21:10

Hey baking, have a good nights sleep!! 😴

Anybody see call the midwife? Gosh that was a sad one. 😔 Xx

Moo31 · 12/02/2017 21:24

Baking you are so right "have unprotected sex and you'll get pregnant" - not the case at all!! I went for blood tests in October as I was on cd41, convinced I was pg but was getting bfns. Went to the loo before my apt and who had showed up?! Yep bloody af! I went for the test anyway and ended up crying to the nurse and she said "you try your whole life to avoid getting pg and then when you want to get pg it's so difficult!"

Sarah - it's quite nice actually, I'm normally a fan of flavoured tea but I read it preps the womb and helps the egg stick so fingers crossed! You are only supposed to take it from cd1 to ov and never during the 2ww. Do a wee Google search and see if you think it's something you might want to do :) xo

Moo31 · 12/02/2017 21:26

*not normally

sarahboro1 · 12/02/2017 21:28

I'll have a look moo, every little helps!! Xx
