Ok so I am bravely attempting to set up a new thread for anyone tTC.
Plug in your stats ...
Share the highs of your journey
Limit the lows - yes it's a challenging time but being negative gets you down.
I'm thinking positivity breeds positivity and positive thinking gets positive results -
It may take some of us a little longer than others ... but does that matter? I think not.

New rules - instead of saying af due ... we say bfp due ...

So here goes ... my stats
Age 38
Cycle 3
Bfp due 14/02

Haha I haven't watched it since TTC, used to be obsessed! I'm still watching and crying happy tears. I'm determined to be an earth mother who takes it all with no pain relief and no screaming Confused husband thinks I'll be an absolute mess haha!

sarahboro1 · 04/02/2017 12:31

I've thought about this too and I'm gonna take all the drugs on offer!!! 😂 No point being brave lol!! Although I really don't want to be a screamer, so that's my only thing I'm determined to stay quiet!! We'll see I guess!! I already know it'll be my hubby that'll be the mess so my mums gonna have to be on standby if he passes out!!!

How do all you ladies think your oh's will cope??!! 😁 Xx

Charley2016 · 04/02/2017 12:40

Haha I'm not sure really! Mines really laid back most of the time although he can be really fiery at times! Mostly when I'm a grumpy bitch Wink I think he will be quite calm on the outside but panicky and trying to do everything for me! When his sister was pregnant he was totally perplexed as to why she was getting in a bus or doing her own shopping at 4-5 months and thought her dp should be doing it all haha!

Dollydaydream2829 · 04/02/2017 12:44

I've never watched OBEM believe it or not! I've seen a good few births due to the area I work in (obstetrics & gynae) and that's enough experience for me!! Haha!
Spotting has completely tailed off to nothing now? CD 29 now and usually I'm a 28 day cycle girl. Although last month was a 30 day cycle. Maybe I did actually ovulate later than I thought and it was the Monday instead of the friday? I'm going to try and not think about it too much over the weekend and just wait and see. I purposely have no tests in the house because I would probably POAS multiple times a day if I did LOL! So will wait and see if AF shows up by Monday and if not, I'll test again on Tues. No cramps, but still nauseous.

sarahboro1 · 04/02/2017 12:51

That's sounding positive dolly! Fx it's implantation for you!! Xx

My hubby is scared of blood, needles and anything gory so I think I'll lose him!! 😂 Xx

Charley2016 · 04/02/2017 12:57

Eek that sounds promising dolly! I will have my fingers firmly crossed for you. Keep us up to date with things. Is the nausea all day? Hopefully the spotting was implantation and you'll get your BFP in a few days!

Haha Sarah will you have your mum there too just in case then? I don't think I'll have anyone else so I hope mine is ok.

I have super sensitive nipples and a bad back today still but I get these in the week before AF every month Sad

MissMagpie · 04/02/2017 13:43

When I had my DS I managed just with gas and air and he was more than 9lb (I didn't know this else not sure I would have been confident enough to push!!).

It's really hard to say how you will react to birth. I was braver than I thought I would be!

An open mind and all the options are what you need!!

Charley2016 · 04/02/2017 13:56

Well done magpie! You're definitely right, I think as much as I think I'd love to do it all naturally, I will very much go with whatever works at the time.

My mum had me at 15 and I was 10lbs2. Dh was 6 weeks early and was 9lbs1. Also my dad, grandma and great grandma were all twins. Twins and triplets on the other side of my family too but a few generations back. So basically I'm kind of thinking I might have some serious sized babies Confused although as much as I'd love twins, I can't see it happening to be honest.

Hippychic79 · 04/02/2017 15:40

I love the fact that your all talking about the birth .... this is so nice and positive.
Personally I have always been scared of the thought of it and have never watched obem either... but now that I'm tTC, I'm already mentally preparing... I think just gas and air sounds good but I guess you can't always plan and you just have to roll with it. My oh hates blood etc and has already warned me that he won't be much help ... ffs :)))

Does anyone have a preference or premonition on whether they want pink or blue? I saw 4 magpies today so I'm thinking blue :)

Charley2016 · 04/02/2017 16:04

Haha are you planning on having an oh back up for birth? It's quite nice to chat about birth and babies rather than just TTC! I've always said I'd like a boy first, but I wouldn't really mind to be honest. Weirdly it's only girls names I really look for (I keep a list Blush). I have Olivia and Evie at the top but 2 family members are currently pregnant and have decided on those. Others I like are Amelia, Emilia, Emmy, romy, belle..... boys the dh was set on max so I don't really look haha!

sarahboro1 · 04/02/2017 17:34

Yes charley I think Mum will need to be around to take over!! 😂 Xx

sarahboro1 · 04/02/2017 17:38

It's good to look forward for a while ladies and take our minds off ttc!! ☺️

I think I'd have a girl first if I could choose, only because I know what to do with them!! 😂 My fave girls names are Kitty and Lucy atm, don't really have any fave boys other than William George and Joseph, think I need to put more thought into boys. Xx

Missmagpie - good luck! I can't wait to get to fw and get back on it! Also 9lb?! Well done!

Dolly - that sounds promising - fx for you :)

Charley - twins would be great wouldn't it?! Two for the price of 1 effectively! That would be me finished if I had twins I think!

I love obem! Oh thinks I shouldn't want it as I don't have a very high pain threshold and ignorance is bliss! I love the idea of a water birth so hopefully I'll be able tp do that ... Will seriously consider hypnobirth as well! Oh is my calming influence when I'm being crazy / irrational / in pain so I think he will be amazing. We both agree that if it was a choice he would be the one giving birth!

We talked last week about hospitals as we would have a choice and our decision might depend on how many birthing partners (some allow one and others 2). I would love my mum to be there - first grandchild and I think it would be amazing for her to be part of it. He was a bit put out and thought that I was suggesting he couldn't handle it lol but it's more for her to be a part of the experience but we'll see how that pans out!

I love baby name chat - I am obsessed with reading the baby names threads on here! They are all lovely names Charley and Sarah :) We have had our names picked for a few years lol Maisie with Beth as middle name and Finn with Stephen as a middle name in tribute to oh dad (considering also including my dad's name in case he is put out but don't want to have a crazy long name!)

Hippy - I just know I will have a boy first. I just know it!

Moo31 · 04/02/2017 19:21

My mum and I spent the day with my cousin today - she lives about 2 hours away and we are just on the train home. She has a 2yo ds and is 8 mths pg with dc2. Out of the blue she asked if we were trying (do pg women have some sort of 6th sense?!) I couldn't lie so I said yes ... since Sept. She got caught with ds (6 mths before her wedding) and conceived dc2 first month of trying which she has been very open about since she announced she was pg - she said today when they decided to go for no2 she did opks as she "didn't want any messing about" and was so glad she fell in 1st mth as she "couldn't be bothered with that hassle every month". Is it wrong that I felt annoyed at how flippant she was and a little jealous of how easy it was for her?!

bakingmad83 · 04/02/2017 19:38

I know what you mean Moo. I've got a friend who conceived after one time when they couldn't be bothered to use condoms and was saying after she was so pleased they didn't even have to bother to try this time round!

I used to enjoy OBEM till I had DS. Think it's because I threw up throughout labour, which gas and air made worse, and didn't feel my birth was like any of those I'd ever seen on there! Did manage to stay calm though - did natal hypnotherapy CD from 32 weeks and managed to have forceps delivery without any pain relief, so really recommend that. Did consider hypnobirthing, but you can't do that without attending classes and needs DP to be totally on board with it, as they need to fully participate.

I hoped for a boy 1st time round, which I got. Did feel I was having a boy, as went off sweet food (usually have a very sweet tooth) and didn't have proper morning sickness, just a bit of nausea. And 20 week scan showed I was right. Could have picked lots of girls names we liked, but struggled with boys names. Would like another boy, but obviously we'll be happy with either and don't think we'd have a third. Hoping it's not twins this time, know a couple of people with toddlers and twins and sounds exhausting, but you just find a way whatever life throws at you I guess :)

bakingmad83 · 04/02/2017 19:39

Meant to say, had some cramping today, so think af could be on the way, but seeing that as a good thing, as will be the end of this crazy cycle :)

Charley2016 · 04/02/2017 19:41

Moo your names are lovely! Totally understand the frustration at your cousin. I have 2 family members pregnant. One fell first month, the other was on the pill and had 1 day of vomiting! I was the one that wanted to be properly set and married etc before trying despite being broody for forever and I'm sad it hasn't happened yet... but I'm keeping positive that at least when my little one comes along soon they will have some lovely little cousins to play with. I think because we don't find it as easy as others, it also makes us much more empathetic and at least we won't make the same comments others do. Although I'm sure your cousin just didn't realise and will have her fingers firmly crossed for you x

Baking - that's good to know re hypno, thank you! That cd sounds good.

Thank you ladies - i feel a bit better knowing it's not just me then! Yes charley you're right - I'm definitely more thoughtful about comments than I would've been before we started ttc (hope I didn't offend anyone who was ttc with any comments I might have made in my pre-ttc naivety!)

Baking - that might be a good thing then you can get right back on it for next cycle! :)

Ps welcome itsjustaphase!

Hippychic79 · 04/02/2017 20:24

Just caught up -
Wow there's some lovely names coming up - the one I like for a boy is Stanley :)) I've been focusing on boys names as a psychic said I'll have two boys thus why I think blue :))
Twins would be great for me - job done... sadly none in mine or oh's family but I think as you get older (I'm 38) the chances increase (think I read that somewhere else it's wishful thinking on my part) ...
love the pink rose story Rose ... so that explains your username :))
I love this thread .... ladies please stay even after you get your bfp's

Just one more thing to add - don't let others get you down about how quick and easily they got upduffed ... People can be so thoughtless ... if I had a quid for every time someone asked me if I was upduffed yet I'd have enough money to pay for my opks and of tests and some savings :)))
