Bare with me I'm not quite with the abbreviation lingo yet so apologies.
I'm 31, and hoping to be adding to my family asap. I'm on my second month of trying after having my coil removed. I've never really had periods whilst using the coil and unsure about my cycle so we've just been having sex a lot and hoping for the best. I began what I think was my first AF post coil on Friday.
So if anyone is as obsessed with me about ttc and wanting to chat please do. It's hard keeping all this at bay with my friends and family.

I'm so sorry about your losses melons!
Sounds promising though.. Fx you get a sticky one!
I've been trying a year properly. Been DTD unprotected for four years though, with two losses so far, one right at the beginning in 2013 at 5 weeks and one in October this year at three months, so im not sure what cycles are doing! I have one DD who's 5 in three months. Gaps getting bigger now! X

Hi all,

Hope you don't mind me joining a little late. I'm new to mumsnet and to ttc. We're ttc #1.

I'm on Cycle 1, CD17, and going a bit crazy symptom checking already: very faint pinkish spotting last night and then faint brownish once this morning. I had a positive opk (peak fertility, clearblue) on Sat, and we dtd that afternoon, and had done quite a lot in previous days, so hoping while trying not to be too optimistic this early on!

I've had some pangy pains in past couple of days, but have history of endo and had these frequently anyway, even while mirena in place (and had occasional spotting). Mirena was removed 10/11, and first proper AF came soon: 13/11.

Congrats Melons, though really sorry for your losses, and hopefully congrats to NW? I'm appreciating reading your experiences on here.

Largemelons · 29/11/2016 18:58

THanks!
When we're TTC we desperately search for symptoms and that line.
When the line comes we then obsess over it getting darker and constantly knicker check!

Sounds promising re spotting! I had no symptoms except Random cramping but I'd get that if AF was coming anyway!

Nw85 · 02/12/2016 13:29

Hey all,
So I don't know what's going on at all. I've avoided this page a bit as felt so down last few days. I retested and continued to get faint lines until last Friday. Since then I've had negatives. I can't get in to see my GP until 12/12 and I've not bled.
No pregnancy symptoms and I'm on CD 36/37
I'm fed up of this whole process, was on such a high and now feel confused.

NW I've been thinking about you! Was worried something was up. I'm so sorry to hear you're going through this. So strange you haven't bled if there was a pregnancy and now not. Can you try get an emergency appointment and get a blood test?

Nw85 · 04/12/2016 09:46

I've rang my gp daily and they've said its not an emergency. Studly did another test again this morning and still negative. We're wondering if faulty batch of tests and really unlucky with them or if a mixture of evap and faulty or if a MMC or god knows what else. I'm pretty sure that I'm just not pregnant though
How are you girls getting on?

charley2016 · 04/12/2016 13:21

NW hugs Flowers I don't understand how it can't be classed as emergency! You'd think they would just take you in for some bloods! Still no sign of a period or anything? I seriously hope you get some answers soon. How are you holding up?

I've had weird OPKs Thursday and Friday (positive, negative then positive again) Had left side pains and had a small trail of blood when wiping on Friday which I've never had before. So if I've ovulated, think it would be Friday but god only knows!

ns1348 · 06/12/2016 15:34

Hi all,

NW I'm really sorry to hear about your angst and confusion. And that it's not being taken seriously.

Charley, that sounds confusing too, I'm sorry to hear it.

I've had a confusing week too: spotting carried on and off throughout, and I was really baffled, as it was too early and light to be AF, but I'm assuming and hoping it was related to settling into cycle after coil removal. Been away the last 4 days, which was a distraction at least.

Today AF has shown up, 4 or so days earlier than anticipated (but I didn't really have anything to go on since 12 years ago!). I'm quite relieved AF here to be honest, I prefer it to not knowing where I was at whatsoever with the spotting: on to the next cycle for me. Hope it's less confusing than this one has been!

How do you all feel about OPKs? I'm tempted not to use one this cycle as I think it just encourages me to obsess about what's going on when: maybe we'll just try to dtd every other day or so around mid cycle and see how that goes (saves money too!). Need to discuss with dh, but was wondering how people feel about whether OPKs help physically and/or mentally?

charley2016 · 06/12/2016 16:47

My first month (which I don't really count as a cycle) I though I should ovulate when we stopped using condoms (wedding night 9/10) however looking back now i think I would probably have ovulated a few days before. I think knowing your body is probably the most important and I think using OPKs the last two months have really helped me. It's put me at ease that my cycles are actually relatively normal! Also DH works really late so we don't often DTD more than once on a weekday and save most for the weekend. However with OPKs I knew my ovulation was likely during the week last week so meant we made sure we DTD all week. I think they have helped reassure me a bit and using it alongside Ovia app has helped as the first month I input all my symptoms and now when I get excited about pains or sore nipples etc I can look back and see it was the same last month instead of getting myself all excited thinking I'm pregnant. I used asda ones last month but they are expensive so just bought IC this month and they were OK. Gave me positives two mornings in a row with a negative in between at night but good enough to know rough day.

Hey All, 40. TTC #1 cycle 10(ish). DP and I managed to align ourselves last weekend (he works overseas) so currently living in hope.

ns1348 · 08/12/2016 12:30

welcome citybumpkin! all the best in the waiting period.

and thanks charley, that's useful info and i've now downloaded the ovia app!

citybumpkin · 08/12/2016 12:57

Thanks ns. Trying not to symptom spot in these early days but its difficult. This morning couldn't help but think "oooooh I feel nauseous, that's not normal"...

Roses24 · 31/12/2016 10:37

Hi everyone, is this thread still active? This is first month of ttc for me- I can hardly believe it! Would love to hear where everyone else is on the ttc journey. Smile

ns1348 · 31/12/2016 18:24

Hi Roses, no this hasn't really been active for a while.

I'm on a couple of others for first timers which are more active though:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2800935-Thread-22-TTC-1-The-one-where-the-BFPs-rolled-in-long-may-it-continue?

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2797222-First-time-TTC-thread-five?

And there are others besides these I think: maybe take a look at some and see which you fancy? The first one of the above two tends to have slightly more frequent posts, I think.

And this thread is for all those hoping to conceive in Jan:

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/conception/2802197-January-bus-anyone?

Hope this helps and that you can find some support. It's an exciting but not easy journey, I'm learning already and I'm only on cycle two!

Best wishes,

ns
