rahrah - for you a new thread!

OP posts:
seaside72 · 11/02/2007 17:51

Thanks for the info lottie - Have thought about the TCOYF software - but I am a mac person and it is not compatible I think -I could use PC in DH's office but I am glued to my macbook all day!! Will consider it next month - after 12th cycle TTC - will need something to get me excited! sad or what.

Hope its OK to join the group - I know you have been quite small and intimate - us three newbies could always start a phase 2 thread if it is too much?

Hopefully some will graduate off the thread v v soon!

Ready · 11/02/2007 18:40

Seaside72, don't be daft, you are very welcome here! Don't expect your temps to make sense for a couple of cycles, the key (in my opinion) is to make sure you take your temp at the same time every day. To be sure I always set an alarm earlier than I get up, and then go back to sleep for a bit.

Angelfire, PMSL @ you teaching your cello students about EWCF I don't check my cervical position, it's not for me.

Lottie & Angelfire, I completely agree, it is shocking that women are not taught more than the basics of the reproductive system. That said, I struggle to imagine my old biology teacher to explain EWCF to a bunch of adolescents!! Not sure what the answer is, but if I have girls, I will definitely teach them all about it.

Honeyapple, at you wanting to keep the intimacy of the thread. I agree that we don't want it to get too big... but Greedy and Fettle have just graduated so it frees up some space. And hopefully there will be some more graduates soon!! Fingers crossed for your temp being implantation, so hopeful for you!!

Oh yeah, almost forgot, I read that Lottie too, about eggs being formed whilst in the womb. It worried me slightly, as my mum smoked during pregnancy and now I can't help worry that my eggs are bad

iwillbepgbydec07 · 11/02/2007 18:44

how do you do the test? i mean what is involved on both sides?
i am very tempted to buy one but i think my dp would be rather
he believes when it will happen it will happen.

ready - happy belated birthday!

seaside72 · 11/02/2007 18:48

Aww -Thanks Ready

Think I will def have to use an alarm next month - am secretly hoping I won't get a chance to see a pattern in my temps cos will get BFP soon! - especially as it looks like I am the longest TTCer on the thread at 11 cycles

honeyapple · 11/02/2007 18:52

Lottie- hol is for summer- jul aug, when kids are off... I know it's kind of a way away, but heh!
I think Morrocco would be great- but I'd rather go there without the kids one day.
DP can only commit to 7-10 days away as he is self-employed.
I'm going back to the Croatia idea- found some nice looking villas with pools on the net. Also some beaches are sandy! Not carribean sand perhaps!

I definitely think that an impromptu wedding sounds a brill way to go, especially somewhere abroad. I reckon thats what me and DP would do (his mum would get upset a bit though i imagine).

seaside72 · 11/02/2007 18:53

iwillbepgbydec07 - it is quite easy - the female one is anyway - just pee on a stick - but on must be on specific CD (3 I think?) - as if we aren't used to doing that by now!

The male one is a bit more "invlolved" - hence my DH not being too keen - he must produce into a funny cup like device and then wait 30 mins and it tests the motility and quantity of the sperm (again - I think?)

It is pretty starightforward tho.
Good Luck!

I slotted you in weepootleflump, Lottie has OCD and likes us all in order

For what it is worth Lottie, I think (and have always thought) that people worry too much about other people's opinions when they get married. It's your wedding day, so you should do it how you want, where you want, when you want and if people don't like it... TOUGH!! Sorry. When we got married, we lived about an hour and a half from where we grew up and I had to deal with DHs family moaning about having to travel to our wedding. There was no way I was going to arrange a wedding an hour and a half from where we lived. I know lots of people think it was selfish of us, but it wasn't their wedding day, so they didn't get an opinion

Cor blimey, I sound like a right hard faced bitch don't I. I'm really nice, honest.

angelfire777 · 11/02/2007 19:35

The Fertell test is definitely easier for the woman. The man has to ejaculate into a dish which has a small hollow in the centre. Then you leave it for 30 mins so that the sperm is in the hollow (although if there is a lot there can still be some around the hollow too). After 30mins you put the lid on and push in the blue button until orange light comes on. Then wait another 30mins until light flashes. Then turn orange knob anti-clockwise 15mins then after 5mins light strts to slow pulse. When light goes off turn orange knob clockwise and read results!!!!
My DP was really good about doing the test. He even checked out where we could buy it etc.
IWILL I think the answer is to say how much better you will feel knowing that both aspects are working properly - anyway thats all it took with mine.

honeyapple · 11/02/2007 19:38

I agree absolutely- do your own thing!
I'm a bit anti big weddings myself- too much of a palava! I dunno if any bride really really enjoys the BIG DAY- all too stressful i reckon. (please tell me differently anybody) i got married b4 when i was 21- lasted 1 yr- awful! Prob why im not bothered about doing it again.

nice hign temp pootleflump

angelfire777 · 11/02/2007 19:41

Lottie totally agree with Ready. I dont know the whole story but truely believe that you should do what you want for your wedding and dont feel guilty about it too!!!

A friend of mine got married recently and didnt have the courage to stick up for what she wanted with her family. She totally regrets this and holds a lot of resentment because of it, which is definitely not good for you.

weepootleflump · 11/02/2007 19:50

Thanks again, Ready. Shocked I didn't notice the order - prone to a bit of OCD myself .

Quick question for anyone/everyone - do you all wait until AF is due/late before testing or is temptation too much?

Just wondered as I saw on another thread that some people had BFPs as early as 8 DPO, this has made me want to test 10 DPO - am I daft to do this?

rahrah1 · 11/02/2007 20:06

God, I'm off line for a day and you guys have gone chat happy!

There is 30 odd posts... so gave up a bit towards the end!

Before I had Bertie I had a 28-30 day cycle. Since I had him I had my first period about 6 weeks after and then had a 33 day cycle in Jan. This month I'm already on CD21 and not Ovulated yet, so will be longer.. So quite strange for me as always been quite regular... I suppose with everything going so wrong, I'm expecting more things to not be working... Hence my constant freak outs! It also took us 18months to get pregnant with him, so also pooing my pants that it will take that long again or longer. I will be 34 then before I will get pregnant and then what if I lose another pregnancy.. I just can't take the not knowing and the waiting... it's so frustrating!

honeyapple · 11/02/2007 20:31

Hi Rah,
PLEASE DONT STRESS!!!
Nobody knows what is around the corner, so its impossible to say how long its going to take this time for you to get PG. Please try to think of NOW, rather than of years into the future... it's too depressing. You could get PG tommorrow!
I tel you what, this thinking about holidays has totally moved my mind away from babies...

pootle- dont let Ready hear you talking about testing early!!!!!
DONT DO IT! SEP AWAY FROM THE CLEARBLUE!!!

I think I am due af (or not!) on Thursday, but fertility friend chart predicts Saturday. I am trying desperately not to get my hopes up this time. Last month was the first month I had ever temped and my temp did not go down until the day of af, I believe this is the norm isn't it?

Thanks for your reassurance guys.....you will be sick of my little drama's soon... sorry.

Mum03.... Step away for the Test.... Public health warning.....Step away from the Test. If you are only 9DPO, you are very unlikely to pick anything up... wait until you are at least 14 DPO... (don't worry you will be saying the same to me soon too)

LondonLottie....I don't get a lot of CM either. I've still not had a positive OPK yet though either. I think it is positive that you are getting positives on those and a fair indication of your ovulation and the fact you are CD16... Have you read up on Pre-seed? Could help if you don't have much CM..we have used it this month, but not sure if its worked...hehehe....but least you have fun using it!
