Hugh enjoys ISW and his love affair with Doreen. He watches out for skittle tits and weepyitis. Mrs Arseholey Fucknut (Af) shows up when you least want her but brings wine and soft cheese as a consolation prize.

We don't have rules as such but expect to be talked down from the ledge with kind and well meaning but firm words if you get too hysterical. But most importantly don't convince yourself you're pregnant in the tww That is paramount! It messes with your head and makes you crazy crazier

We don't get a lot of baby dust in these here parts. We want a fanny full of determined Doreen, not unicorn farts and gnome tears with extra sparkle. We've been going a while now so the novelty has somewhat worn off and we're slightly battle scarred and bruised in the cervix area.

Post your stats and add your dates. A more lovely, supportive group of ladies you couldn't wish to meet. We've got a few grads sticking around I won't leave and no question is too daft. We have opk experts, cervical mucus management teams and symptom spotters extraudinaire!

Hi everyone, I'm back after a couple of weeks off MN as have been away which helpfully coincided with the 2ww.

Thrilled to return to so many bfps!

Sadly I'm not joining you, AF arrived on the dot this morning and it's really affected me badly this time and have been a weepy mess all morning. Timing couldn't be worse as my sis in law complete with bump arrived to stay with us for the weekend.
I know we're not dtd enough thanks to OH's performance issues so I wasn't surprised AF arrived but when about 2 further pregnancy announcements have happened to people close to me in last few days it's hard to not resent them :-(

LondonLady80 · 13/08/2016 17:08

Hep/Kestral huge congratulations that's wonderful!

Hi everyone else, sorry I joined this thread last month, posted twice, then got AF and basically had a giant hissy fit and couldn't face anything TTC related for a while … I'm at the end of current TWW so am in the mad stage of the cycle, you know the stage where every single emotion, twinge, bloat, sleep pattern and change on taste might be a symptom? Yeah, I'm at the stage Grin

LondonJem · 13/08/2016 18:07

Hi winging sorry it wasn't your month and you've been feeling so low. It affected me badly last month - I got it on a day at a BBQ with two heavily pregnant women - it really does make it smart that much more. I feel your pain. Do what you need to do and allow time to feel sad, the disappointment is crushing. I hope you aren't waiting too much longer.

From one londonlady to another - I'm at exactly the same point as you. It's the worst bit of my cycle, I'm at my most mental. I've managed to have a nice chilled afternoon with a friend, determined to make this feeling last!

Delighted to see the first slice of kwick cake CakeCake has been served! CakeCake

LovelyFishy · 13/08/2016 19:34

Kwick love that the cake will continue!! I did consider going private but I'm going to wait for my doctors appointment. If I'm not ovulating due to PCOS it doesn't matter what DH's swimmers are doing right now so we can wait and see!

Wing & London I got a bfn on Monday and had a melt down all day. Sometimes you do just need to let it all out and pick up the pieces again afterwards. Hope you're feeling better! FlowersBrew

kwick · 13/08/2016 20:02

alexia how complicated! Don't feel bad about anything you are feeling. And just remember the good news is that yiu can get pregnant, even if this one sadly ended in a MC.

No pictures of cake... It does not look much but sure tastes nice.

So sorry wing Flowers

Fx londonlady you get a BFP Smile

kwick · 13/08/2016 20:02

Oops yiu = you

Ni4444 · 13/08/2016 20:40

Hi lovelies!! Thought I'd check in and woohoo a streak of BFPs!!!!!! 😀 😀 😀 😀

Congrats Marmite, Hep and Live. Marmite it must all be down to the lucky bird poo!! Ps I got my BFP, decided I would poas every weekend to check I was still pregnant, but only did it one weekend cos after that the baby hangover kicked in weeks 5 to 13 so I was pretty sure I was upduffed still!! But I did have to just focus on taking it one week at a time...each one felt like an achievement..one week closer to 12weeks and the drop in mc rates.

Live I still quickly glance for bleeding every time I pee and I'm 18 weeks now! (took us 7months so remember not everyone gets upduffed quick, but it doesn't mean you won't).

Ladies if I can give any advice, it's that all the anxieties and uncertainties continue after BFP! Im currently dying with impatience to feel proper movement so I can be sure little one is still there! The gap from 12week to 20week scan is long!!! Thank goodness that after 20week scan i should be able to feel kicks cos it's one helluva long stretch until 38/40weeks!! So, take the ttc roller-coaster as an opportunity to figure out how to manage anxious thoughts cos they're here to stay!! I hope that doesn't sound negative, I just mean keep on with those positive mental attitudes that Kwick and others were talking about!!

Marmite how about not telling her you're pregnant, and when you later do, just say you didn't find out until after your shopping trip!!

I forget who was talking about the sushi dinner, but if sushi, steak, chorizo/salami/prosciutto has been frozen for 4 days first it is safe to eat as any listeria will have been killed off. Apparently most good sushi restaurants do this so you call them and check... That way you can hopefully eat all the sushi!!!

Much love to you all xxxxx xxxx

Ni4444 · 13/08/2016 20:43

Ps so good to hear from you Kwick and delighted that you're getting geared up for a new cycle!! Crossing fingers and toes for you lovely X

marmitecheesetoast · 13/08/2016 21:04

Thanks Ni! Good advice re the anxiety and one wait to the next once upduffed as well! I am definitely beginning to get that!

Sorry to hear it's hit you hard this month wingingit hugs

Bridesmais dress shopping was today. I laid a bit of groundwork saying I'd been a bit off colour and had a bit of a tummy bug the last few days which I'm just getting over. We did end up buying dresses, they are from John Lewis though which worked out rather well as they have a 90 day returns policy! I've booked an early private 8 week scan so I think if at that scan things look ok, I will tell her. That's less than a month away. And I can say oh you know thag buf I thought I had? Turned out it was a baby not a bug! or something like that! I had a look and the dress does go up to an 18 which might accommodate a large bump?! But maybe I'm being a bit ambitious. Mum doesn't think I'll be at the wedding even as a guest never mind as a bridesmaid given its 5 hours drive from home 2 weeks before due date? Don't know if she's just being a bit over the top though? I've no idea I guess!

LovelyFishy · 14/08/2016 09:45

Hello again Ni!

Marmite glad the dress shopping went well in the end, good call on off the peg dresses! Did you tell your parents in the end?

I've been catching up on the thread while still in bed with my tabby cat gleefully rubbing his face on my phone and purring his heart out. He's so cute when he's not brought in a mouse!

AliceScarlett · 14/08/2016 09:53

Omg Hep I can't believe it! Congratulations! Is there anyway you just ovd ridiculously late and that blood test was accurate because you're 5-6 weeks? Can't wait to hear how far along you are. Hopefully gp will get an earlier scan. All this uncertainty! Paid off in the end.

DH unfortunately missed 6 days bang in the middle of the FW, was back in routine yesterday, I didn't have the heart to tell him and nor should I, all the confidence built up this month will pay off in the coming months. I'm out this month. Then can join the 10+ month club.... Yay.

kwick · 14/08/2016 10:00

So here is a picture of my cake - yummy yoghurt and banana and only fat is olive oil but it does have a ton of sugar

LondonJem · 14/08/2016 10:06

Hello ni good to see you thanks for popping in to see us Smile glad everything going so well. The anxiety / worry through with the whole ttc / pregnancy journey is exhausting isn't it! I wonder if it's some kind of sadistic prep for parenthood, when you will worry about them for the next 18 years...

Good work on the dress marmite, how did your parents take the news?

lovely isn't it great when cats are all affectionate like that. Max is totally my stand in baby at the moment. He has to put up with being carried around and cuddled lots 😾

alice you're v considerate to your oh - if mine is away during fw he doesn't hear the end of it. I need to wind my neck in really as its not his fault.

Lovely Cake kwick!

kwick · 14/08/2016 10:09

ni thank you so much for dropping by Grin so glad things are progressing!!! Please keep us posted!

marmite I am glad things went well... Is the dress material stretchy? I do not think it is a question of wearing bigger clothes but having extra fabric in the right places...
Your mum may be right about actually going to the wedding... Perhaps you could skype in? Wink

alice I am already in that club Sad

kwick · 14/08/2016 10:48

So I think I may have shared this with you many months ago but I was really inspired by this segment on Oprah ☺️
If you are not a bible basher please do not be put off that this comes from a Pastor... I think the underlying message holds true to all faiths even those angostics or aethists among us (apologies I have no idea how to spell that!): what you put out into the universe comes back to you, so better to put out positivity Grin
This road is a rocky one so I have to remind myself:
I am fertile
I am ready to have a healthy, happy baby
I am in perfect time
I am ready to receive all the good things coming my way

Anyway Oprah says it better than me so have a squize - the clip is real short:

LovelyFishy · 14/08/2016 11:21

Kwick that is a lovely looking cake, kudos on the low fat contents!

Jem I know, cats make great fur babies! My tabby boy's called Jim, I like that we have similar non-conventional cat names! Grin

FXSkip · 14/08/2016 11:25

I love that kwick! I weirdly like to remind myself the world does not owe me a baby - it's a privilege if it happens. Helps me to feel less resentful of other people but it's not easy. Nothing about this is easy, I hate that there's this myth about getting pregnant being a joyful, shared experience. It's scary, lonely for much of the time (less so thanks to you ladies) and riddled with old wives tales designed to make us feel inadequate. The more we work on being strong and positive the better we'll be as people and parents when our time comes!

liveforthefight · 14/08/2016 13:51

Can I add my mog to the fur baby club?! OH is in Thailand for work so Blofeld (don't ask!) is helping with the queasiness instead Smile

liveforthefight · 14/08/2016 13:53

Also awesome looking cake kwick, can the next one be chocolatey? Smile

LondonJem · 14/08/2016 14:15

Hello Blofeld! That is an unusual name!

Jim for a cat is great. Max has quite a lot of names - most often he is Robin or Rubén Hmm

marmitecheesetoast · 14/08/2016 15:11

Ha I think you're right on that jem. It's preparing us for 18 (and the rest!) years of worrying! You think the obsessing would stop when you get the BFP, but that's just the beginning!

Lovely the positivity mantra kwickStarStar

Hope youre not feeling too nauseous live

Mum and dad were thrilled. I'm glad I told them as they tried to shove a glass of wine into my hand three times within 15 mins of arriving so it would have been a right stress trying to hide it. They understand it's very early days so trying their best to keep a lid on the excitement! Other than a very long shopping day yesterday I've had a lovely very chilled weekend watching the olympics with them and doing little else, which is just what I needed.

The bridesmaid dresses aren't stretchy material unfortunately. The top is quite fitted and tight, although the skirt flares out from quite high and is a very floaty pronounced A-line. Sort of 50s style. Still doubt it'd work with a bump though... I also had to do an unexpected dodge of prosecco while out shopping. Hoping it wasn't too obvious. It really makes you realise how much our (my?!) socialising involves alcohol Hmm

Some great cats names guys! I'm looking forward to getting home and seeing my two fur babies. At the risk of sounding like a totally crazy cat lady, I think one of them knows I'm preggers?! She's normally very aloof with me and only sits on DHs lap if there's a choice, but she won't leave me alone recently and always wants to sit on me now! Grin

Doc appointment tomorrow morning to say hey, I'm pregnant! Think that will makes things seem much more real...

How are things sinking in with you hep?

HepKestrel · 14/08/2016 16:08

Hi Marmite yes, sinking in, but really looking forward to first scan. Have found the graduate thread, so will be posting lots of stupid questions there I think!

Talking about fur babies....
Have found very reassuring information on the cats protection league about toxoplasmosis from cats. Can't post the link here via my phone, but it explains very clearly the risk and also that there is no correlation between cat ownership and getting toxoplasmosis whilst pregnant.

Still trying to learn the list of things I'm not meant to eat (despite eating them for the last 3 months!!)

kwick · 14/08/2016 16:23

live what a nice moggy Smile I am the only woman living that does not like chocolate cake... Next one will most likely be lemon or maybe ginger...

AF has come! Full steam ahead with baseline scan tomorrow!

LondonJem · 14/08/2016 16:45

kwick I can't stand chocolate cake! Yuck no thanks! You don't need to do anything with chocolate other than eat it as it is imo!

purpleladybird · 14/08/2016 17:41

Wow Hep that is amazing news. Really pleased for you!

AlexiaB really sorry to hear about the miscarriage. I remember we were both in cycle-limbo a few weeks ago and I have been wondering how you are doing.
