Hi gillian 1973, londonlottie and Ready - I haven't posted on this thread for a while but thought I would chip in!

We have been TTC for 10 months and I did quite a lot of charting last year and OV testing using clear blue digital - which seemed to work well giving me peak days etc - but after 3 months they always seemed to fall on day 12 so I stopped spending the money on the sticks Although might do another month soon if no luck before.

I also did the Fertell fertility test thing (exhorbitant price!!) but it did make me feel a better about having some eggs left!
Especially after my annoying GP gave me a total lecture about charting and OV tests. He told me to throw it all away and just have sex at least 3 times a week! If only it were that easy? I am 34 and DH is 38 ( I was 33 when last saw GP) and at that point he said he would not refer us for any tests for at least another 18 months (by which point we would have been trying for over 2 years) Arghhh!

I am CD 11 now so we are trying to do lots of BDing - however it is sooo hard not to obsess.

I think the OV tests are god to get an idea of your cycle but doing them every month can become a bit addictive and expensve!

Good luck!

Ready · 15/01/2007 17:29

Seaside, your GP doesn't sound very sympathetic at all!! Rude! My GP is lovely, and I so hope that she doesn't go anywhere between now and when I have my baby!! See this is the positive side of me blooming at the moment!! It's hard to keep up with my moodswings at the moment.

Ready · 15/01/2007 17:31

Ooh, JoandtheBoys - cycle buddy!! I think I am a good buddy to have - just ask Flossam, she was my cycle buddy and now she is pg!!!!

Speaking of buddies... anyone seen Kittiwake?? Has she changed her name and I've missed it? Or is she away??? Kittiwake, where are you?

Munz · 15/01/2007 18:24

jo I ahem tested sat avo, was obv a neg after the pos as it was late in the fday, but jarm has kindly sent me another one so will test ASAP as soon as it arrives! lol. feeling sicky tired and hungry - not to mention hungry but after only one BD it's prob just all AF symptoms! lol.

Eaglebird · 15/01/2007 18:24

Hi Londonlottie & JoAndTheBoys.
Yes hoping for my first.
I'll put the glass of wine on hold until AF definitely appears. Not 100% sure if she's due today or tomorrow, so maybe I got a false BFN . Don't think so though, as boobs aren't as tender any more, but I'll wait & see.
Londonlottie, do you chart just temperatures, or do you also chart CM & cervical position? Have you sussed out when your fertile period is by charting?

Very quiet on here... where is everyone? Who has actually missed the January BFP boat?? Not that those who haven't have to leave... but just so we know where we all are??
Greedy, Jo&TheBoys, Seaside72, Beansprout, HonorMatopoeia, Gillian1973, Alittlebitshy, KezzaG, PeanutButter, Decorative (although I think she's having a break!), Heresfor2007, Thehairybabysmum, Pottypotpot - ??? - I'm sorry if I have missed anyone off, but I wasn't certain of everyone out of the running for Jan?

Ready: CD11. The "effort" is in full swing, and v. enjoyable too . Temp has settled after a few erratic readings, which was probably due to disturbed sleep.

So... how is everyone else doing????

seaside72 · 16/01/2007 20:22

Hi there Ready - I am still on here - just a day ahead of you - CD12 today -and yes the effort is underway!
My cycle is around 28 days so AF/BFN/BFP?? due first few days of Feb.
Definitely seems quiet on here today.
Find myself up and down like a yoyo mid cycle - seem to veer from extreme optimism to abject pessimism on an hourly basis!
Though did spend the relaxation bit at the end of my yoga class last night trying to visualise a good healthy egg and "soft red cushions" in my womb after listening to the piece on Radio 4 Womans Hour last week!!!

weepootleflump · 16/01/2007 20:35

Hi all, I've decided it's time to join if I may?

Been ttc since Nov and since I always know when I'm ov (pains & discharge), I expected to fall straight away.

I should really be on Jan thread as I'm not due to test until around 27th but not holding out much hope.

Now starting to think I should be doing more charting and stuff. I did get some of those cheap ov & pg tests from ebay but didn't get on with them - got neg reading all the way through ov and I know I was.

I'm taking a high dose of folic acid (5mg) due to previous problems, anyone else have to do this?

seaside72 · 16/01/2007 20:50

Welcome weepootleflump (did I get that right!!)
I haven't heard about the higher Folic Acid dose but I am sure there will be someone on here that has/knows about it.
Good Luck with TTC fingers crossed for you that Jan will be your month and you won't have to stay with us through Feb!

JoAndTheBoys · 16/01/2007 21:00

Hi girls,
CD11 for me too, I sooooo hope I have your last CB's luck this month Ready! I am such an impatient person generally, which doesn't help when you're ttc!

This is my first proper cycle of trying, and because both ds's were conceived so quickly, half of my brain is telling me that if I don't conceive this month, there must be something wrong with me and I'll be trying for ages.
I'm so bloody worried that the depo has done something permanently to my fertility because of my cycles being shorter and irregular some months.

However, I'm trying to stay optimistic as much as possible (and not think about any of the above too much!), and am going to leave taking the B6 or agnus castus until next cycle. I know I'm extremely blessed to already have my 2 darling boys.

And so! Lots of bd'ing planned over next week or so, no signs of ovulation yet, and just started BBT charting. Can't see any sort of regularity to my temps yet, but haven't really been sleeping that well for past couple of weeks, so not sure if that will affect it. So far temps have been :

cd5 - 36.32
cd6 - 36.30
cd7 - 36.41
cd8 - 36.19
cd9 - 36.45
cd10 - 36.32
cd11 - 36.08

Can't see any regularity to them. Aren't the higher ones a bit high for early in my cycle IYSWIM? I thought they weren't meant to get that high until after ovulation... others may be able give me some advice on this hopefully! LondonLottie?

EagleBird, hope af is still not showing her ugly face!

Lissie, Munz - any news? Did your test from Jarm arrive Munz?

Good luck everyone!

Fingerscrossed2007 · 16/01/2007 21:31

Jumping over to this thread from jan as it feels more realistic. On day 16 of a 28 day cycle. ov sticks and ewcm indicate that that I ovulated yesterday (day 15) but not hopeful. Despite best efforts we only managed to bd on day 11 and 13 so not hopeful. all I can do is wait now. AF due 29th. This month easy to count as day one was 1st jan!

lissielou · 16/01/2007 21:38

well, back on this thread coz im being realistic. tested this morning with my cb dig and bfn. i know af isnt due til 21st (my bday btw, mother natures having a laugh there) but my tummys not as swollen, i dont feel sick anymore.... dunno. still got appt to see mc specialist on 1st feb so we'll see what happens there

nomoremagnolia · 16/01/2007 21:52

Hi all, i've come over to feb now too, af arrived early (at least i didn't waste money on tests!) last week. we're going for it this month with gusto, af/bfp due on my b'day - which would be a fab present! currently on cd6 and temping this month, tried last month on greedy's recommendation but was away so much over xmas it was rather a random exercise! hopefully this month it will work.
