patches maybe you're having a phantom period? I get them. Every sign that af is arriving, but then nothing! It's annoying as balls!

Guessing I'm now out of isw, so give or take a week and the boobs will start hurting and pms will raise her dragon face from my innards!

I'm getting a bit confused with people's AFs not arriving on time it's making my list incorrect and I don't know if people are peeing on OPKs or HCGs or what. I think we've got people with AF due who are peeing on OPKs just in case they are better than HCGs and all sorts.
So I would just like to ask the commentary lady to please get all AFs that are on their way or over due to hurry the Hugh up, or else have a positive test. Thank you very much.

P.s. Anyone watching that hugh (LOL) Laurie program? I am loving it.

Also thought it was really interesting what you said about feeling like you had it easier than those with a OH sometimes, fascinating how different all our perspectives can be! Today I am also wondering if it would be easier without a OH (see below!!!)

So, it's my 30th today, and dh has been pretty rubbish about it, I got a card but my prezzie is late (to be fair I knew about that, was fine with it, and it is v expensive), but no other special treatment today, no cake, no chocs, we dtd this morning and it was all about him iyswim! We are abroad for my bday weekend (planned by me) so I know it's not easy to sort out surprises but it would have been nice for him to just think of doing something nice that was cheap and simple like saying 'let's go out for cake for breakfast!' Or explaining that he was going to do something nice once we got home. I probably sound like a right ungrateful bitch. I know I'm lucky to have him and super lucky to have early bday prezzie in the way of a bfp this year, but I've been teary all evening (I'm blaming preggo hormones) and feel totally gutted as didn't really want to cry on my bday!

Of course me being me I told him how I felt when it became clear at 8pm there were no surprises coming and now he is very apologetic, and I think he gets it and feels really bad
He is blaming work for being so distracting (he has his own company) which I sort of get but ... also don't.

Ughh. Birthdays are overrated and stress-inducing! Sorry for the moan. I hope I am not being unreasonable! (I have been reading too much on that other section AIBU, it is addictive)

I think your last paragraph really sums it up. I can't count the number of birthdays (mine... Not other people's) that I've cried on. As an adult and a child. I feel stupid for still caring about birthdays and birthday surprises as an adult and then feel like crying. And then I get upset that they aren't like they used to be as we are adults now and all the fun is gone and cry about that. And then I feel stupid for crying and getting upset and then cry more. And the whole thing is a big let down. The people that really honestly don't give a shit and say "it's just another day" are the winners here. But people like us that want magic and surprises don't get comforted by that because even when we say "yeah it's just another day" we are secretly hoping ALL day for surprises. Or cake. Or anything!!!

Buuuuut... It's your first birthday as a mummy, and you have a trip away. And you have a DH and he is but a man and they are shit at things like this. At least yours was apologetic. Mine would get cross at me for being so stupid. And that would probably make me cry more. By myself.

Ohhhhh Kat and starky you just made me teary all over again!! (But in a better way than before) I bloody love mn. THANK YOU. For giving me some birthday love and the perspective I needed. Kat you really hit the nail on the head! Birthdays are not the same as when we're little and it's devastating! I want a birthday tea again with all my little friends over, jelly and ice cream, and games of musical chairs. I probably cried then too, when it all got too much!

Maybe this is what being a mum is all about- giving stuff up like birthdays and being grateful for babies! My first lesson in self sacrifice

But he's a boy Moggy...it will take him time to realise all of this (maybe give him a cheat sheet so he knows next bday/anniversary/Xmas what kind of things make you feel special?). My Doreen is now away for work until Friday. Opk negative thus morning. Now hoping it stays negative all week. I am still testing everyother day. Not sure when AF is due... Will be 14dpo on Thursday/Friday, but my average cycle is 29 days which makes it Tuesday next week.

I'm completely symptomless at present except a slight niggle on the right of my bikini line in my lower stomach. Possibly very mild cramps this morning.

I don't want to take a test for as long as possible. I don't want the wave function to collapse on my Schrödinger pregnancy.

moggy I don't think you're being unreasonable at all. I often feel the same, I make a great effort with birthdays doing themed presents and thoughtful cards that I sometimes get a bit disappointed when some supermarket flowers are thrust my way! But then he admits he's rubbish at gifts and panic buys and he can be thoughtful and lovely in other ways (not on birthdays) so I just have to swallow it and make sure I'm clear about what I want and not expect suprises!

hep I made this www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/3682/ultimate-sticky-toffee-pudding and it was delicious and not too hard. I just made one large one in a Pyrex dish lined with baking paper. Tastes even better the next day and warmed in microwave with dollop of sauce on as flavour seemed to have settled in!!

Haven't had any positive OPKs either Jem. My lovely friend told me yesterday that she didn't either until she left the wee to come to room temperature-she said it was in the instructions of one of the OPKs (not in mine though). I did an experiment last night and dipped one immediately and another one later-both had a faint line and can't say I could see a difference.
