Fred rules (copied and adapted from previous Fred)

  1. Thou shalt shag as much as humanly possible in order to get upduffed.
  2. Thou shalt not partake of OPKs, temping, or charting.
  3. Thou shalt keep symptom spotting to a minimum.
  4. Thou shalt share with your fredmates where needed.
  5. Thou shalt not be offended by the word vagina.

JSing lingo

ERTD = Evil Red Tide of Dooooooommmmmmm. Or AF to most others. Also known as 'the witch', 'bitch witch' and 'that one with the red shiny convertible'

Viroid = This is you, dear poster. This is from the first JS thread when someone tried to type 'ladies' and it autocorrected to 'Viroids' - so there you go!

Pant snot = Egg white cervical mucus.

Doing a Kitten = Getting upduffed soon after joining (warning: may induce envy in other posters).

POAS = Pee On A Stick (of the pregnancy detecting kind, not from a tree). Also known as PIAR (Pee In A Ramekin - cos we're posh birds innit), or PIATLH (Tea light holder), PIAWG (Wine glass) or anything else you care to pee in! PONF = Pee on Nigel Farage (Self explanatory)

ROC = Receptacle of Choice - what one chooses to use for the task of POAS. Optional decorations include photographs of controversial political leaders.

JIAC = Jizz in a Cup. Preferable to jizz on the carpet or jizz in the eye. This one's for the lucky men in our lives.

Jizz in a bra = how we transport the jizz to the Sperm Queen

Shagging like 'something' = JSing like a teenage nymphomaniac.

Giving a hooya = Giving a much needed slap to a fellow poster in danger of slipping into TTC obsession. Warning - this may happen to you if you start trying to POAS at 5dpo. PUT. THE. PISSY. STICK. DOWN. IT'S TOO EARLY!

Contraband (or Cuntraband) = Of COURSE none of us EVER partake of any silly OPKs or temp charting. They are Contraband.

Icing = ovulating. Another autocorrect development!

Getting your Cape on = planning some serious pouncing on DH/DP

SOTM = Shagger of the Month. Awarded with varying regularity to those viroids who go above and beyond EOD shagging in pursuit of that BFP

TWOT - Two Weeks of Torture. AKA Schroedingering!
TWPU - Two Week Piss Up!

Keeping your gingers = fingers crossed, yet another autocorrect development! Shortened to 'gx'

Doing a Lemon = Testing WAAAAAAAY to early!

Miroid - The male compadre of a viroid

Cat - Compulsory

Skittletits - Killer molten painful tits and nipples

Ghost jizz/goat jazz - When the amazing foof sucks up all the jizz - achieved when coming at the same time/nearly the same time.

sausage LOL at "maiden vomit"! Grin

Kwick709 · 28/03/2016 18:00

Poor you Sausegma is that chipolata making themselves known?

stumblymonkey · 29/03/2016 17:24

Just popping in to say thank you to the medic viroids who suggested speaking to my GP about my overdue smear after sleeping through my alarm. GP was very understanding and I now have been able to circumvent the long wait for smear clinic to get one done next week.

In return I promise to try v. v. hard to never sleep through an appointment again!

Kwick709 · 29/03/2016 19:58

Where is everyone?! Very jealous thinking jsers are somewhere warm and sunny Envy

ScottishLady7 · 29/03/2016 21:22

I'm here...

Still not preggo, I've been donning the cape but me and DH have had a stupid fall out. I'm right obviously so is it morally inexcusable to pretend to make up so I can don the cape tonight (probably ovulating) when I'm really still annoyed??

OP posts:
ScottishLady7 · 29/03/2016 21:36

How are you feeling kwick??

OP posts:
Canters15 · 29/03/2016 21:40

Cant you just forgive him long enough to aquire jizz, Scottish? Then promptly fall out with him again? not that I would ever condone such action

Well done on the smear stumbly. I am pleased to report mine came back as normal, very glad I got it done when I did.

ScottishLady7 · 29/03/2016 22:07

Got it in one canters, this is the plan Wink
I am, as you can see, taking the mature approach to marital disagreements this evening...

How are you feeling?? Excellent smear timing Grin

OP posts:
ScottishLady7 · 29/03/2016 22:07

And we'll done stumbly good work!

OP posts:
Kwick709 · 30/03/2016 07:49

stumbly well done!

scottish I trust you can report that the cape was donned?

I feel exhausted - managed to do something to my hip yesterday - I am in agony & slept fitfully and my bum is NOT liking the almost constant interference!!! Still no symptoms :(

ScottishLady7 · 30/03/2016 09:36

I did indeed kwick Grin

Sorry you've not been comfortable. No symptoms isn't a bad thing. Lots of people may not have any symptoms early on. Easier said than done but try and relax and focus on your pma!!

OP posts:
stumblymonkey · 30/03/2016 09:44

I'm here but feeling grumpy about TTC....

(1) Life seems to just get in the way of donning the cape during FW so feel like it will take forever

(2) I work from home a lot now but when I get a new job I won't be able to do that and will be out of the house 7.30-7pm during the working week. DP does weird shifts and so I'm failing to see how we'll be able to cope with a baby in a practical sense (like who will drop off and pick up DC from childcare?)

No family nearby. Can't afford a Nanny. Can't afford to reduce my hours. DP is a PT so peak hours clash with dropping off/picking up duties.

Only option I can see it a for DP to be a SAHD but I don't think he wants to be Sad

Grump grump grump

ScottishLady7 · 30/03/2016 12:08

Oh stumbly I'm sorry you're feeling so fed up. Flowers

I go through periodic panics about logistically how we might manage with finances, schedules, house organisation, my training etc.
I have taken to reminding myself that cliche alert I really don't think there is a good time to have a baby. When you get pregnant and have your baby, you and your DP will adapt to what works for you.

Sending lots of positive thoughts and Chocolate!!

GundogFrankie · 30/03/2016 12:54

Hi Viroids, sorry for my absence, busy Easter weekend (remind me never to attempt an Ikea visit at this time of year again!)

stumbly sorry you're having a hard time Flowers I'm with Scottish, I think when the time comes you will just adapt - my family are also not nearby so I know how you feel. Try not to worry too much.

Kwick hope you're ok. It was a '25 day' blood test I had, sorry for being vague - it's supposed to be done on day 21 but I have longer/more irregular cycles. It was meant to be 7 days before AF due but I had to approximate guess based on my average cycle length. That meant that AF should have been due yesterday but nothing. Not holding out much hope for BFP, and now annoyed that I've timed the day of the blood test all wrong. TTC is a tricky business massive ballache Angry

Name how are you doing? And everyone else?

(Sorry for the rant)

Canters15 · 30/03/2016 13:06

Yay for cape donning scottish. Gx. I'm doing OK thanks, bit tired and nauseous but other then that trundling along.

kwick it's totally normal not to have symptoms yet. All I had until week 5 was sore boobies and then the cramping started. Even now if I didn't know i was preg I could probably talk myself out of having symptoms!

I'm glad other people have the baby practicalities worry. Dh is never home before 7.30 and job involves lots of European travel. In gp it's v rare to finish before 7, and hospital on calls will be problematic. I guess we'll find a way.

ScottishLady7 · 30/03/2016 13:20

What stage will you be at when baby comes canters? If When it happens for us I will not be looking forward to telling the GP unit- they are notoriously unsupportive of babies during training. Shame since it seems 90% of us take time out for mat leave - they may have a point...

OP posts:
NameChange30 · 30/03/2016 13:25

Thanks for asking Frankie... I don't have much to report really. I think I might take a break from TTC this month because the due date would be between Xmas and NY, and I think that's a crap time to have a birthday... That's probably a silly reason! But I was also really gutted when AF came and will struggle to DTD when I'm due to ovulate this month (DH and I will be staying with friends... who have a baby) so I'd like to take the pressure off. Haven't been trying for very long but have been talking about it for so much longer that I feel like it's been ages already. I think I need to focus on finding a job really - easier said than done!

Well that was a long answer - sorry!

Hope you all had a good Easter. Sorry to those of you who are ill and/or feeling down about TTC and/or anxious about early pregnancy... Hang on in there everyone! We need some more PMAs I think!

corgi88 · 30/03/2016 14:13

Hi all! I had a rubbish Easter working the late shift in Paeds a&e- did get a lot of chocolate though!
Hope you are OK stumbly, as Scottish says there probably never is a good time to have a baby so you may as well crack on ;)
Well done Scottish on your naughty jizz acquisition...I too would do exactly that.
I'll just be going into st3 if this one sticks and arrives in Oct/nov. Desperate to push one out before end of training and finding myself out in the big bad world with potentially no mat pay ... Bloody GP contracts.
name hope you are OK. I have to confess I've thought the same about Christmas/new year birthdays!
just haven't seen you for a while, how are you pet?
kwick I too have no symptoms and apparently 9+2. stay calm! Hope your bum is coping....

justtheonethen · 30/03/2016 14:38

Thanks to those having a hard time. I too think that when baby comes you will adapt, it's never the right time really and there will always be something that doesn't work but you will make it work.

Star for stealth jizz acquisition Wink

corgi I'm ok lovely, just feeling a bit fed up recently. How are you doing?

angelazul · 30/03/2016 18:15

Hey vidriods, hope you're all keeping well. I've had those moments too where I panic about how we'd cope with a baby, but then I really am a bit of a worry wort. Hubby just says relax, it'll all work out fine, really wish I was a bit more relaxed like he is.

Kwick709 · 30/03/2016 18:20

scottish well done! Wink

Okay may be a cray-cray idea - have you thought of turkey baster approach? Not sure how easy it is to home freeze... Confused

Okay viroids - no more moaning about "how will we cope"!!! I am single, in a 1 bedroom flat (which is smaller than a standard hotel room), in a job where I travel 75% of the time.... And I KNOW that the universe will help me out.
I am pregnant with a happy & healthy child.
I am certain my life will expand and grow to accomodate this little miracle.
I am sure everything will happen in perfect time.
I am sharing my PMA with my fellow viroids.
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

stumblymonkey · 30/03/2016 19:02

Thanks for the PMA Kwick!

I will get pregnant at exactly the right time for us.

Our lives will grow to accommodate a little one when it is time to.

I will get an awesome contract on a fabulous day rate and save lots of money for mat leave.

DP will find a fulfilling and flexible career and we'll both be happy as little clams.

stumblymonkey · 30/03/2016 19:03
Kwick709 · 30/03/2016 19:40

That's the spirit stumbly!!!!!!
Good luck with your internet research :)

FuzzyOwl · 30/03/2016 20:18

Loving the PMA Kwick and I hope it rubs off on me! I am almost nine weeks and apart from cramping/stretching symptoms, have nothing at all to suggest I am pregnant. I am also too scared to have a reassurance scan.
