We do not judge, we enjoy TMI, we i encourage waiting to poas nobody listens and all the grossness you can find from a group of intelligent, articulate ladies fart stories make us laugh

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kat, a resident piss stick queen runner, loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

I think watching the ttc videos onYouTube has helped me guys, because it's made me realise that it doesn't always just happen immediately! We spend so many years being conditioned to think that a whiff of jizz and we will be pregnant, that when it doesn't happen the first go we get despondent!

I do think a lot of people say "we weren't even trying!" When actually, they were! So you don't get a full picture! I'm guilty of doing it myself, I've told everyone who's asked "oh it will be a couple of years yet before kids!" Because I don't want people to think we're trying and failing! And it's not a failure, it's just a cycle when it didn't happen! Only you guys actually get my full and honest account of ttc! And ttc is so intimate, that it's not necessarily something we share!

There's so much mystery and intrigue! And it is such an emotional investment, we end up hysterical! Not wanting to tell people we're buying okp's and charting and the craziness of the fw! Because somehow not getting pregnant is shamefull! And it's not! It's just our bodies! We can't control it, it will happen when it happens! The negatives are disappointing but it means there's another cycle to look forward to! Af is our uterus having a clear out ready for the next go. And we can do it guys!

I hate opks. They didn't work at all this month for me. The only thing that worked was temping as it showed a clear shift once I ovulated. It's a bit "after the fact" so you need to keep an eye on your cm too. I think the trick is to do it every 2-3 days from the end of af to the start of her next visit. I'm going to dh done Berocca. He's going to need it.

Kathrino · 22/01/2016 15:56

That was an excellent pep talk Starky, totally what I needed to read this afternoon. Have been stressing about whether we totally miss ovulation this month which we might well have done but that has no bearing on what will happen next month other than giving me a bit more info to understand what is my body's normal cycle. We'll get there eventually ladies!!

Confusedcat1 · 22/01/2016 16:01

If I'm not upduffed this month I'm gonna start playing with ovulation pissy sticks. If I'm not upduffed the month after that I'm going to start temping. And if I'm not upduffed after six months I'm going to my doctor. I have a plan so I feel better! Xxx

Confusedcat1 · 22/01/2016 16:05

And starky you give a good pep talk, maybe you should start a career as a Ttc coach 😂😂

Cthulhoo · 22/01/2016 16:10

That's so true, Starky. I've often worried that it takes so long because I'm getting close to 40, but I'm starting to think that it might not (only) be my age - it just isn't that easy.

As someone else said before, this thread helps me to vent and keep the crazy contained, so DP doesn't get the brunt of my symptom spotting/overanalysing/agonising/impatiently waiting for the end of the tww / no, the beginning of the fw / no, wait, end of the tww again ...

StarkyTheDirewolf · 22/01/2016 16:31

Haha cat kath and cthulhoo Dh says I give a good pep talk too! Grin

I was stressing about that last month cat two lh surges and I missed both! That's why I'm taking no chances this month and opking every day from the end of af for the next 3 weeks! And aiming to dtd every other day! I'm inputting data into ovia but ignoring her for the most part as I got sooo invested into it last month I was treating it like the oracle of delphi! Definitely feeling more relaxed now I'm changed my approach up! That's my plan too, Im 30 on the 28th June oh lordy , so we'll have been trying for just over 6 months by then, of there's still nothing happening I'm going in with armfuls of data to my poor unsuspecting doctor! I've got to book in for a smear this month too so ill ask the nurse if my cervix looks healthy and welcoming! Grin

Thanks guys! Sorry. I lost it a bit there. I'm going to gym tonight, then I'm gonna go party all night (w/o booze) and forget all about this. Then imma jump OH when he gets in tonight :)

miwelaisjacydo · 22/01/2016 16:49

lauren period due next Monday as in in like 9 days.

Dubbya · 22/01/2016 16:54

Yay, fx that's the spirit.

Ooh starky you've reminded me I am long overdue a smear so I've just booked it and may do the same! Do you think it's okay to have it in the tww?!

Feefeefs · 22/01/2016 17:05

Good plan confusedcat! I'm with you Smile although I might go temping before pissy sticks

ZazzlesTheCat2 · 22/01/2016 17:08

starky you're so right about ttc & playing down how long. Particularly in work where people I've known have blurted out 'unplanned' and 'accident' without any prompting whatsoever! (And I'd never be so rude to ask anyway). And if I'm honest with myself I'll probably say the same thing at work, just to make sure people know I'm still ambitious etc (this crazy talk though!).

Snowdog37 · 22/01/2016 17:13

My plan for cycle 3 is this: chocolate, Baileys, lots of sex, more chocolate, possibly a Big Mac, a bit more sex, a drop more Baileys. It will work PERFECTLY.

Cthulhoo · 22/01/2016 17:19

Oooh, I like your plan. I'm on a diet at the moment (trying to get in better shape) but oh, this sounds tempting!

Laurenowls · 22/01/2016 17:27

miwelaisjacydo do you normally get these signs before af? If not then its looking hopeful xx

Dubbya · 22/01/2016 17:36

Good plan snow!

All the brilliant pep talks here have helped me greatly. I've taken charge, booked a doctors apt to discuss ends symptoms (extremely painful af pains and I not going to go into the others!). At least then I'll know instead of googling and getting worked up!

Sooner or later it will happen lovely ladies!

Dubbya · 22/01/2016 17:37

Typo - should say endo (as in endometriosis)!

shelbTa · 22/01/2016 17:37

Place marking

LisaTheGreek · 22/01/2016 17:38

Snow - that is quite possibly the best plan ever

StarkyTheDirewolf · 22/01/2016 17:44

sheeeeeeeeeelb how are you and tiny sprout?! Grin

I'm definitely out now, AF is here with a vengeance now!

We're still cycle buddies Snow! FW starts in 11 days here too. We should compare when we DTD lol.

In a strop at lunch today, I went on Amazon and ordered him some Wellman tablets and some pre-seed stuff. Complete with 'applicator'- sounds so sexy!!!

twinkydink · 22/01/2016 17:50

Well that took a while but I'm finally caught up! Remind me not to stay away for a whole day again!

I got my first TTC baby bomb yesterday but it was one of my best friends who I know has been trying so ridiculously happy for her!

I think my next test date is 15th Feb which feels like a life time away.and my DP is away for 12 days so it's a slim chance anyway. I will have to live through all your tests!

I think I am going to get on the CM checking band wagon this month too!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 22/01/2016 17:51

Whilst musing, I'm now convinced that a lot more people claim to not be ttc, or rather, just don't advertise that they are ttc. So finding anonymous Internet forums are the place where we can be honest. I also suppose it's much easier to admit to having ttc once you're actually pregnant, because The that point, you're already pregnant, so past trying to be blazé about ttc. But I also suppose and muse that admitting or owning ttc in rl can be a minefield, because people will offer advice which is unnecessary. So on here when yiu guys say "relax, take it in your stride" it's all good, because you're in the same place mentally as me, but if someone who didn't know all my gory ttc details said it I'd be like "yep, thanks for the advice please be quiet now"

Snow, excellent plan!

Twinkly, in my experience (all two cycles of it...), CM is a fairly accurate and easy thing to track.

Starky, I agree. The only person who has ever told me that they're TTC is my best friend and the only reason that she said anything was because we were having to work out what size bridesmaid dress she might need for my wedding. Other than that, everyone else has been a 'surprise' but they can't all have accidentally conceived!

Kathrino · 22/01/2016 18:01

Twinky even! Stupid autocorrect...
