Thread 6! Wowzers! Welcome one and all! Group of weirdos, wee hoarders, covert opk or okp, depending on what your autocorrect decides addicts with a side business in cm management!

Post your stats and add your dates. We have a register thanks to kat, a resident piss stick queen runner, loaaaaaads of bfp'ers who keep us positive! We don't have rules, we love a good symptom spot, we try to stay grounded and not be hysterical sometimes we manage it aswell

But on the whole, we're a good bunch, especially bunch who is literally, a bunch. bunch

The tww is killing me. 4dpo, at least 10 days before I can and should reasonably test and I'm running out of patience. How do you all cope?!
fidgets

Feefeefs · 20/01/2016 16:40

kwick its allied health professionals, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech and language therapist, dietitians etc I've probably not named cosmo's job! Sorry!

Tend to be understaffed In general as probably rightly so the focus it more on nursing and medical staff numbers

ZazzlesTheCat2 · 20/01/2016 16:43

snow - i put your pic through a filter I can make out a faint shadow/line. Ovs not sure what colour it is and whether it's an evap but I can see a line

ZazzlesTheCat2 · 20/01/2016 16:44

*and I can make out

StarkyTheDirewolf · 20/01/2016 16:46

The b&m tests are good snow and are £1.49 for two. (Proper tests, not the thin strips) they do have an epic evap line though. So have to be discarded after the 10-15 minutes. like properly discarded, not just thrown in the bin to be dug out later

Set yourself a personal challenge cthulhoo allow yourself one Internet cheapie at say, 10 dpo, and then nothing else till 14/15 dpo. If you break it up into bites ie chunks it gets easier. but I have a will of iron, stubborn mare that I am I am the anti-tester! Stay strong! Grin

Starky, it's not even the testing. In the seven months of ttc I've only ever used a pregnancy test once and by that time I was three days past expected af and it turned out to be just an exceptionally long cycle. It's the waiting itself that frustrates me right now - I want those two weeks over and done with and know one way or the other so I can try again. I can be stubborn as hell, but patience is not one of my virtues ...

Snowdog37 · 20/01/2016 16:59

This was fished out of the bin (classy, me) it's obviously way passed its validity and was a bit damp still (I put it back in the little sachet thing it comes in). I don't know how to filter it or whatever to help see a line but those of you who do, fill your boots 😄

Cthulhoo it's really hard isn't it. Today has been particularly bad. I couldn't sleep last night or concentrate on work today because my mind is on pregnancy (or lack of) and impending AF. I know this is not a healthy way to be!! 😫

LaraG13 · 20/01/2016 17:06

snow I'm not seeing a line I'm afraid. But I hope I'm wrong!!

dubbya sorry to hear AF seems to be knocking for you too. On the bright side, a 28 day cycle is good news, if that's what your body is settling into.

StarkyTheDirewolf · 20/01/2016 17:11

Cthulhoo I know EXACTLY what you mean! It's like, right i have ovulated and dtd, I did my side of the bargain, now do your bit body. But if it's a no, can you let me know in like 12 hours so I can start again please! The waiting is the worst bit for sure!

Snow - I'll have a play later and try to upload. But apologies in advance if I'm getting hopes up Flowers

Feefeefs · 20/01/2016 17:17

I wish there was a restart button for the tww! I think I'm just coming to the end of the FW now. Going to try and avoid alcohol this cycle too, not a particularly heavy drinker and don't binge drink but probably have 2 drinks 4-5 times per week so going to give it a miss the next two weeks and then at least if I get my period I can have a glass of wine!

StarkyTheDirewolf · 20/01/2016 17:26

That's been my "reward" for af too fee a nice glass of wine! I don't drink much anyway but I do enjoy a glass with Sunday tea Grin

Ive got back into my chirpy pre-af mindset again now! I was a bit mopey for a day or so last week! Planning my menu for the next week, anyone got any of their go-to simple favourites to share? Only caveat is Dh basically eats a whole spit roast buffalo per meal, so if it includes meat that would be awesome! Grin

I was 21 when I had my first and 24 when I had my second! Now I'm started again over 10 years after having my first and I honestly feel like a first timer again!! Took me a long time to talk hubby round to a third!! We have had a few periods in that time of ttc but it just wasn't the right time.

I honestly don't think age matters when you're ttc, nor is it anyone's place to judge!

Snowdog37 · 20/01/2016 17:53

No hopes getting up here zazz I don't think there's a line either.

ImpYCelyn · 20/01/2016 17:53

Well another overly hopeful dose of symptom spotting: DH walked in and said he thought I looked really tired, and I started crying. Which is pretty rare. So I now have spotting for 4 days, occasional cramps, occasional freaky sense of smell and overly emotional... So impatient for my hpts to arrive, I'm an outrageous stick addict.

ImpYCelyn · 20/01/2016 17:56

co5mo I feel so sorry for nhs workers at the moment! Obviously I now know tons of junior doctors, but also loads of nurses and ahps, all working their bums off for very little pay or recognition, and in increasingly bad environment. So many of my medic friends are going into public health or research, or other side fields to escape.

ImpYCelyn · 20/01/2016 17:58

RIP Sid and Nancy

Amazing names! I hope there'll be Sid and Nancy Fishous the Seconds!

Holly300 · 20/01/2016 18:02

I must say, I feel so lucky to have stumbled on this thread and to have found such a lovely group of kind, honest, non-judgemental women. I was a bit nervous to join at first as I've seen a lot of bitchiness go down in these kind of threads - so glad I did though as I feel like all of you have been such a massive support! X

ImpYCelyn · 20/01/2016 18:07

Completely agree Holly, I've been on some horrors in the past, this one is lovely!

Ni4444 · 20/01/2016 18:10

Argh Leonie!!! It's your turn!! Congratulations! Flowers

Just catching up on posts...more later x

StarkyTheDirewolf · 20/01/2016 18:19

I think we're going to have to get some more fish. He-man looks lonely. Never seen Dh move so fast though, he tried to give chest compressions to a clearly deceased fish. I'm not kidding, good job the poor little sod was already paddling up to the big pond in the sky because I think it definetly ended up with some post-mortem style injuries of bruised ribs. "Babe, you can't recusitate goldfish by squeezing it and then dipping it back in the bowl a few times, you're going to squish it with your giant beast grip, let it go."

Someone asked how many DPO I am. I don't know exactly when I ovulated but I think it was around 7 January so I'm guessing at 13 DPO. Hoping to cross my legs for long enough and hold it in to do my FRER tonight.

Cthulhoo · 20/01/2016 18:40

Yes, Starky, exactly!

LaraG13 · 20/01/2016 18:46
