Fab news Drttc, so pleased for you. I always wondered how good Dr s Scan machine was compared to the ones you get at hospital/scanning places.

I went for my last scan today - all looking ok but he is still big plus have lots of fluid - going to get induced next Thursday! Scared and excited!

Seekingmiracles · 15/01/2016 14:07

Fab news Drttc!! Hopefully you can relax a little now.
I'd think that despite DrS' machine being fairly small, it's probably pretty good. He earns enough bloody money from us lot to be able to have a decent machine. But don't let the discrepancy worry you, the bleed couldn't be seen so that brilliant.

DH's motility was 39%, lower end of normal is 40%. Count was way above average.

Hope you have a wonderful time skiing Tina. Sometimes a break and just doing normal stuff really does do you the world of good. Life is too short in reality.

Tryingno1 · 15/01/2016 14:25

Seeking I would say that's fine. If it was like ten or twenty percent may have been an issue. But 39 is ok really? I really think supplements and his diet could improve it. The urologist we saw told us that diet does make a big diff to sperm quality and suggested a dietician. I consulted her for me but she kindly gave me some male advice too. Dh has his tea and his biscuits and his pints and wotever he wants to eat (coz I can't control it al!!!) but I basically make him his smoothie every day for last 6 months!!! It's so tedious haha! But I stuff nuts chia seeds and linseed and pumpkin seed avacdo and blueberries and everything good! And then I also feel like I don't care what else he eats coz I know he has some a great brekkie! Helps me not tink about it too! Plus it's good for his health too and I have them too.

Wonder if u could blend his supplements?!!

Previously we haven't been able to measure his motility as not enough sperm but last one was 60 percent - which is prob why we got preg despite the stupidly low count. So I do think it's helped even by a few percent maybe?

I wouldn't have thought that was holding up ur bfp, I really hope it comes in the next month or 2.

Drttc · 15/01/2016 14:34

Thanks ladies! Maybe I'll get an answer- but I'll be over the moon to have a healthy baby regardless of what's going on between these scans!

Trying that's so amazing that you make him those shakes! Wish I understood why husbands who are so supportive struggle so much parting with the naughty things.

I will say, it was SO hard getting hubby to get on board, but I see that he still religiously takes the vitamins I got him. Which I think is pretty cute :) He's back on the booze though!!!

From what I've read I really do agree that diet/supplements can hugely improve male sperm quality. But like Trying said, it may not even be an issue for you. Same bloody thing happened to me for 6 months and I really tried to think of it as 'okay, this was an extra month that I was ok ubiquinol, another month calming my immune system, ...' And so on.

Seekingmiracles · 15/01/2016 16:21

I just have to nag him all the time, I wish he'd just take them without me having to moan!
Good on you doing his Smoothie trying!! Mine is sooo fussy! There's no way he'd drink it - he'd gag! But having said that his diet isn't too bad and he hardly drinks so I shouldn't moan!
I know I need to think like that Drttc, and for the most part I do. It's just when I know in out each month I feels like such a blow. Then I get over it for another few weeks!!
Thanks for your support ladies Smile, where would we be without each other!!

Drttc · 15/01/2016 16:58

Seeking- I will not judge the BFN disappointment! I'm sure you remember there were some months that getting a BFN made me feel like I'd just been swallowed up into a black hole of sadness and devastation :( PMS does not help things either!!!

Drttc · 15/01/2016 16:59

And yes- talking things out on this board is such a great outlet. Two heads are better than one- and hear we've got loads of heads to put together :)

Hula2 · 15/01/2016 21:42

Yay Drttc so pleased to hear your scan went well and your saw your LO moving. Great news !

Thanks Hula :)

Snoopysimaginaryfriend · 16/01/2016 09:33

I'm a great fan of smoothies! Have lots of green ones- avocado, spinach, kiwi, pear and green apple, sometimes add some almond butter. DH likes them too. The doctors always comment on how amazing my iron levels are Smile

billy15 · 16/01/2016 10:34

Oh Drttc That's such good news! I'm so relieved for you! When do you see Dr S next? (that's annoying if his scan was off. But most importantly - YAY!!!)

Sunny very excited for you!

The ladies who've been successful with the treatment, how long did it take on the treatment for you? I've been on it for nearly a year now (and 2 chemicals) and I've little faith left!

My period is now 6 days late but still no temp rise so I'm thinking theres very little chance of a bfp but I guess I should test today (I hate testing when you know its a bfn!!)

Hi to everyone and wishing you all a lovely weekend x

Drttc · 16/01/2016 12:21

Thanks Billy! I see him on the 23rd (one week). I'm really nervous as I don't know what to expect considering how his last scan went :-/

I first started treatment in March 2015, had a chemical miscarriage (at 6 weeks) in June 2015, and now this is my furthest pregnancy with a BFP in December 2015. I'd never made it further than 6 weeks before (sometimes even less than that) and it happened 4 times in a row. I've been on 2x hydroxy a day since end of April 2015 and also went gluten free. After the June miscarriage I added vitamin B, NAC, ubiquinol, and folate to my regime. In October I added Wobenzyme and in November I turned to super ovulation.

I wish I could get in on this smoothie action... But I'm terrible at that kind of thing. Feel like I'd just make a mess lol!

billy15 · 16/01/2016 14:16

Thanks Drttc Have you been taking Prednisolone since April too? I wonder why you're on 2x Hyroxy (im on just 1)? Have you continued with the supplements since your bfp?

Keeping everythin crossed for your next scan. Thats so great that youve got to 9 weeks - and Im sure Ive heard that 9 weeks is very nearly as much a milestone as the 12 week.

billy15 · 16/01/2016 15:04

Drttc what does of ubiquinol are you taking? Doing some research and 300-600 mg is recommended for fertility but only comes in 100mg. Cheers

Drttc · 16/01/2016 15:29

I was taking prednisone only after ovulation until AF from March 2015. I did take a break twice though as I worried it was messing with my cycle, but retrospectively it was only 1 funny cycle. I got bumped up from 1 hydroxy to 2 because I'd suffered a really horrific hive attack in April. I probably had about 1,000 hives from head to toe. I'd had issues with unexplained chronic (auto immune reaction) hives for few years that was getting progressively worse. Once I upped the hydroxy they lessened and now they're nonexistent. I was on the 200 mg ubiquinol per day, but I think the first month I took 300mg a day. I discontinued ubiquinol once I got my BFP, but am still on everything else.

Thanks! I'm praying this baby is here to stay. I foolishly thought they all I ever needed was to see a heartbeat and that I'd be reassured for my entire pregnancy. Now I understand why ladies with our history can never seem to relax when their pregnancies look like they're going well. We've all got PTSD!

Tina84 · 16/01/2016 16:17

Hi ladies, this might cheer you up, look what I'm watching www.yingandyangliving.com/home-garden/feng-shui-bedroom-pregnancy/
This is how desperate I'm getting, my husband thinks I'm losing it. Got a laugh at this frustrating situation sometimes.
Off to purchase some staffed rabbits...

Drttc · 17/01/2016 08:44

Hahaha Tina! For a second I thought 'oh I should put a bowl of rice under my bed then!' And then I was like, wait.... I'm so accustomed to taking ALL fertility advice!

billy15 · 18/01/2016 09:36

Thanks Drttc its good that the Hydroxy sorted out your hives! I hope this week isnt too difficult for you and that when you see your little bean again on Friday you can start to relax a bit. You're getting so close to the 12 week mark now!

Tina Ha thanks Tina I'll have a watch of that! I'll try anything! Smile

Tryingno1 · 18/01/2016 11:10

Hi guys!
Billy did ur af come?

Seeking has urs? Mine is 2 days late which literally never happens. I'm wondering if it's the jet lag and travelling as I was also travelling around ovulation time. So annoying as it's just delaying my st to treatment!! I know a few days doesn't matter seeing as I've waited since October!!! And nope I'm not preg as I've been avoiding dtd as I'm too scared to get preg again without immune Tx!

Any tips to bring it on anyone?!! I had Acu last week but that obviously hasn't done the trick!

billy15 · 18/01/2016 11:32

Hi Trying no mine hasn't come (day 36 now) and my bbt still hasn't gone up properly - although Fertility Friend is telling I ovd a week ago. I've got acupuncture tmorrow so hoping she can tell me whats happening. I did a test yesterday and negative.
I've no tips to bringing it on but I think stress can delay things and Im feeling very f-ing stressed because its being shitty! So I guess we have to try and forget about it! maybe its like a watched pot that doesnt boil!

(I think you should test anyway, if you havent been using protection, as I got a bfp when we werent trying and I kinda regret not testing earlier).

I hope you're doing OK?

Tryingno1 · 18/01/2016 12:07

Ugh I know it's prob al bloody stress related but then it not coming make me more stressed!!!! Hope urs comes soon! (Or u get a bfp!)
Every day just feels about a month long now that I know I'm starting soon. I don't know how I've coped the last few months!

Enjoy ur Acu session X

Seekingmiracles · 18/01/2016 14:14

Yes, af came on Saturday Trying. And has practically buffered off already. Which is very weird. 2-3 days is not normal. My periods have got lighter and lighter over the last few months and I'm beginning to get worried about it. So glad I'm seeing Dr S next week. I used to have 4-5 days of bleeding. I'm worried my ovaries are shrivelling up early!

Tina84 · 19/01/2016 18:36

seekingmiracles I saw doctor Shehata and wanted to let you know what he said, as I know you are in the same boat as me. Considering I've been trying for 6 months with no luck, he suggested I come off steroids, but the good news I can continue trying because apparently there should be enough steroids in my system for a couple of cycles. He also would like to do a few tests, like check the quality of my eggs (that was a simple blood test), my thyroid function and scan to check my fllopian tubes, which needs to be done straight after period. I'm also getting my progesterone level checked on nhs. Meeting with him really put my mind at ease, I hate not being in the know, so having all these tests reassures me that I can rule a few things out. And so glad to be off pred for a couple of months. Good luck with your appointment next week.

Tryingno1 · 19/01/2016 19:10

Hi Tina I'm glad ur appt was helpful. Sounds like u have a great plan in place!!! I'm sure during it all u will catch :)

So my af came yay! So in hoping to start down Reg on the 8th and move to London end of Feb. I am desperate to loose another 4/5 pounds to bring my bmi to 24 but it's not working! So I'm joining slimming world with a hope she can whip my ass!

Seeking good luck with ur appt X
