When to expect period - Provera

EllaMenoPea · 06/10/2015 09:42

As above really. I finished 5 days of Provera on Saturday to induce a bleed to start Clomid. When should I expect a period? Just wondering if anyone has any experiences. Google is telling me lots of different times. Getting impatient Blush

Have you got any ov sticks boggle?

I'm using the clear blue smiley ones but they're confusing me Confused

YouBoggleMyMind · 23/10/2015 08:32

No, i've not bothered. Perhaps on the next cycle. How are you getting on? Another scan today? Xxx

EllaMenoPea · 23/10/2015 19:52

Well according to ClearBlue I've ov'd but PCOS can show a fake positive so I'm not holding my breath, so no I didn't have a scan.

I guess I'm in the 2WW.....

Shock

Hi ladies, just an update to say i'm out. Clomid hasn't worked so on to the next cycle with 100mg. xxx

YouBoggleMyMind · 26/10/2015 10:32

Fingers crossed Ella

EllaMenoPea · 26/10/2015 17:49

Oh boggle I'm sorry Thanks

Will you get Provera again?

OP posts:
YouBoggleMyMind · 27/10/2015 13:05

I've got a prescription for 3 cycles of Provera so got two left to go with the two cycles of Clomid i've got left. Got to wait a bit before I can take it again though. I'm hoping cycle 2 will be the one! How are you getting on Ella? xxx

EllaMenoPea · 27/10/2015 15:17

Will you just have a 'natural' period anyway after Clomid? I thought that's what happened if it didn't work it would give you a period.

When are you thinking of taking it if not?

I just feel normal, desperately trying to conjure up some symptoms but nothing yet. I'm sure if I keep poking my boobs enough they'll start to feel sore Grin

Hello ladies, how are you all?

Ella I took two rounds of clomid at 50mg and 100mg each before 150mg made me ovulate. I didn't get any periods at all with the smaller doses, so I had to take the Norethisterone for a bleed.

Boggle Really hoping the clomid works for you next time!

I'm CD11 today and got a peak smiley this morning, so have DTD today. Will try and DTD tomorrow and again on Thursday. Not sure if I can trust the OPK really, but going to try and get as much sperm in as possible! x x

EllaMenoPea · 27/10/2015 15:35

Oh thanks eskimo that's good to know, I guess I'll need another prescription of Provera then!

Ohh, how exciting....DTD!!

What ovulation sticks are you using and do you also have PCO?

Sorry, nosy, just the ClearBlue digitals were really weird for me, gave me a negative, high and a peak in the space of 48 hours, not sure if this means it was false.

OP posts:
EllaMenoPea · 27/10/2015 15:36

Ah just seen you said smiley!

What pattern did they give you?

OP posts:
eskimoflo · 27/10/2015 15:48

Ask as many questions as you like! Grin

I came off the pill last October / November time and didn't ovulate or have any periods. Have had all of the usual blood tests and scans / ultrasounds, but no evidence of any PCO or PCOS; my body just hasn't kick started itself after stopping BC it would seem!

Was prescribed clomid back in June, but 50mg and then 100mg didn't make me ovulate. I'm now on my second cycle of 150mg and as I said, I'm on CD11.

I'm not sure whether to trust CB OPKs, as I used to get positives even when blood tests showed I wasn't ovulating! I only started them yesterday, and so got a blank circle on the test yesterday, but then straight to peak today. Apparently, clomid can give you a false positive on OPKs if you don't give sufficient time between your last pill and the first OPK, as OPKs look for an oestrogen surge as well as an LH surge (clomid causes an oestrogen surge), but I left the recommended 3 days, so not sure Confused

I think I might start temping next cycle to try and get a better idea of what's going on, although that can only tell you about ovulation after the event as well! Gah, it's a bloody minefield!

YouBoggleMyMind · 27/10/2015 16:26

I was told to do a HPT on day 35 and start taking Provera again on day 36. That's if AF doesn't visit on her own. If she does, I go straight to 100mg Clomid on day 2.

I'm going to have to juggle it a bit as i'm away and have to be around for the scans so might have to put it out a little longer if i'm going to take Provera. Guess we'll find out soon enough!

My ovaries just looked holey on the scan. Nothing obviously bigger than anything else. A bit disappointed but at least I can up my dose.

I really hope you get all the good news ladies! It's lovely to have you guys by my side through this xxx

EllaMenoPea · 27/10/2015 19:24

Thanks eskimo that's what I'm worried about. Although the scan showed it should have been Friday so I'm trying to stay hopeful that it was actually correct, when can you test?

Ah boogle when's day 35?

This thread is lovely, jut hope it's lucky for us all too!

OP posts:
YouBoggleMyMind · 28/10/2015 09:02

Day 35 is Wednesday 11th November. When are planning on testing ladies? xxx

EllaMenoPea · 28/10/2015 10:22

Next Friday if AF hasn't shown by then. So 2 weeks after ov but I'll probably break on Wednesday!

I weirdly find a BFN less disappointing than AF. I guess AF seems so final!

eskimo when do you make test day?

X

OP posts:
eskimoflo · 28/10/2015 10:28

I'm only on CD12, so my test day is around 17th November-ish. Having only had one real cycle since coming off the pill, it's difficult to know how long my cycles are, or if they'll vary! Good luck to you both! Grin

Moomin37 · 30/10/2015 05:45

Hello Ella, Boggle and Eskimo it feels like it's been a long time. As always, I'm so grateful for your support - it really does make a difference. In the same day I found out l couldn't start the Menopur injections, I had bad news about a relative (who has since passed away) and two days later an even closer relative died. To say it's been incredibly sad, stressful and exhausting is an understatement. However, yesterday afternoon I began to feel a little better and TBH I'm glad that the Menopur hasn't started now as that would have been too much on top and we all know how bad stress is for TTC.

Anyway, that's quite enough from me - I need to know where you lovely ladies are up to. Boggle I think you might be my first ever cycle buddy (ish!) as I have to do HPT two days after you (Friday 13th) and then start Provera. That will be my day 30 though, not 35 as we're trying to get this round in before Christmas (I'm on CD16 today).

Eskimo you're not fat behind us! Did I read that you ovulated all in your own? If so, congratulations Grin I hope you feel like you're now on the right track and will bag that BFP real soon.

Ella how's the TWW? When do you test? Crossing my fingers for you Smile

I'm going to leave it there as paranoid I might lose this post if I write anymore!

So good to feel able to come back and post, and to start thinking about TTC again x.

Moomin37 · 30/10/2015 05:48

Haha just re-read my post and cringing Eskimo as obviously it should read that you're not far behind us, not fat behind us Confused

YouBoggleMyMind · 30/10/2015 08:36

Hi Moomin
I'm so sorry to hear of your sad news. Hugs all round for you and your nearest and dearest.
To be honest, with everything going on in the next two weeks and being away, I may test later than day 35 unless i'm outed by AF.

Xxx

EllaMenoPea · 30/10/2015 09:01

moomin it's so nice to have you back!

I'm so sorry about your news, I hope you've been looking after yourself. Thanks

Well, I'm well and truly symptom spotting, I've decided I there's a metallic taste in my mouth and my boons hurt, these may or may not be in my head Blush

I can't re-read your original post as in typing, when do you start the injections again?

Sorry if you've already said that.

boogle any symptoms, real or imaginary?!

eskimo have you already ov'd now?

OP posts:
YouBoggleMyMind · 30/10/2015 13:10

No symptoms for me. I am fully expecting a BFN in November. It would be some odd miracle if I was pregnant!

Not long til you can test Ella!

eskimoflo · 30/10/2015 17:31

Moomin What a terrible few weeks you had; I'm so sorry Flowers Flowers It's good to hear that you're feeling brighter and more positive about things now though. Glad you've come back to us x x

Yes, I managed to push out an egg, and hopefully will be doing the same very soon this week (if I haven't already!) Ella I have no idea if I have or not! I have no sore boobs yet, which was a symptom last time, but also, I spotted EWCM on Wednesday and haven't had it since, so maybe it's happened already. After my peak smiley on Tuesday, I waited until yesterday for it to disappear and then, even though you're not supposed to, I did another OPK yesterday and obviously it had reset itself, so it was an empty circle, but then did it again this morning and it gave me another peak smiley, so who knows?! Confused We have DTD every day this week except Monday (we started on Sunday), so hoping that we've caught it if it has happened. Might persuade my DH to do it again tonight...

Moomin37 · 31/10/2015 19:46

Evening lovely ladies - thank you so much for the warm welcome back Smile

Sorry to hear about your sore 'boons' Ella Blush - sorry I couldn't resist and it was nice to have a chuckle. Any more symptoms? Less than a week until test day. I have to wait until day 30/Friday 13th November to test and then they'll get me in for a scan and I guess if the lining is thin the injections will start and if it's not then I'll have to take Provera again. We've only DTD once this month (for obvious reasons) so won't be expecting anything other than a BFN in test day.

What have you got coming up in the next couple of weeks Boggle? Hope it's something interesting/nice Smile

Congrats again on ovulating Eskimo and well done for all the DTDing Smile I only do the occasional cheap OPK and it's always negative... I did ponder getting a posh Clear Blue one, but thought it would just confuse things and make me stressed out.

Hope you're all having a good weekend. I'm looking forward to a day off (well nearly) of family stuff tomorrow and relaxation/enjoyment :)

Right I'm off to the fridge to find more chocolate :)

EllaMenoPea · 31/10/2015 23:06

Haha Grin I hadn't noticed that Blush

No more symptoms, wondering whether to get a FRER on Wednesday and just find out either way, I'm not hopeful but I can't stand the 2WW!

All it takes is one time, but it's great you have a plan if it's not the result you want.

The waiting around actually getting to TTC is so frustrating.
