Anyone ttc baby #2?

jp0303 · 20/09/2015 18:18

Hi everyone,

I'm new here, ttc baby #2 (1st cycle) and already driving myself wild with the tww. I wondered if anyone else is in the same boat?

I was so relaxed about baby #1 that the constant nagging thoughts about am I / aren't I are completely new to me and are making me feel anxious with symptom spotting.

Thought I'd see if there is anyone to talk to on here as my husband is quite matter of fact about there being nothing we can do to find out except for being patient - I know, he's infuriating right.

It'd be great to buddy up if anyone else is in a similar position.

Oh no ! I was ready for ur gory details lol I'm weird live a labour story haha X it's funny how with ur first u make a lovely birthing plan , I wanted the water bath and a good cd on in the background haha ( didn't that go to pot !) xx

Kellz92 · 14/12/2015 11:11

Hi. Still faint. Dunno if any shop near me sell frers, that will be open after I pick up DD :( so maybe no testing tomorrow. However since AF is due my cb monitor will let me test.

I had an epidural last time and it failed. I only took it because I was recommended due to baby nor coping. Everytime I got a contraction my bp shot up, which Keira didn't cope with. I had bp issues anyway. So i had a load of other medication. Until I went to theatre and they tried again for forceps delivery. I dunno if id do it again. Xx

Gx91 · 14/12/2015 11:38

Arrgh kellz , u had a tough time ! It's hard to know what way it will go eh X
Think u have ur BFP let us know what ur CB monitor says lol xx

Good thing this is a TTC no 2 thread , if there was any trying for bby no 1 I think we may have changed their minds with the labour stories lol X

Kellz92 · 14/12/2015 11:53

Here's my test today. Lighting is poor as it was dark
Dunno I its tomorrow I can use monitor as I started on cd7 as I was impatient so might be a few days yet.

My labour story would put anybody ttc 1 off xx

Kellz92 · 14/12/2015 11:54

Wont let me upload the pic of my test hmmmm

Dunno I its tomorrow I can use monitor as I started on cd7 as I was impatient so might be a few days yet.

Kellz92 · 14/12/2015 11:56

Now it posts the first one that it said it couldn't lol xx

TattieHowkerz · 14/12/2015 12:10

Mimi,
I had an epidural last time.

I was induced at 38 weeks as I have diabetes and epilepsy. I was warned I would need pain relief as apparently early inductions are particularly hard going.

When it go to it, I really needed it. I had to have an episiotomy and forceps, but that was because DDs big head was stuck, I still managed to push with a light epidural. She just wouldn't move!

Recovery from episiotomy and forceps was very painful, wound for infected and I needed antibiotics, could sit down easily for weeks.

I'd like a vaginal birth again, but need to discuss with my obstetrician. I have some minor issues with rectocele but nothing that interferes with sex or with continence, and I'd like to keep it that way.

All worth it though... Just! Smile

Gx91 · 14/12/2015 12:17

Ouch tattie , I forgot about getting cut down there! There's no easy way to get a baby put is there ?! X
I'm definatly more nervous this time round xx

Mimilicious013 · 14/12/2015 12:40

Kkkk gx.after all the pain u wld think u wld never go back but here we are crying for bfps!!you had a rough time too kellz and hope have it easier this time both of you.water birth gx that wld be ideal hey but nothing like ideal labour

Mimilicious013 · 14/12/2015 12:51

Sent msg earlier only delivering now.tattie at least the epidural worked for u.im hoping for a natural no meds if possible.iv had issues with high bp and inducti

Shortybabe · 14/12/2015 13:16

I had an elective cs with ds. Spinal was fine. Epidural scan slow things down and can lead to a slightly higher incidence of interventions but they defo have their place. I would advise an open mind and to see how things progress. X

Gx91 · 14/12/2015 14:21

Mimi - u go girl all natural ! ( not even gas and air ?) at least u wouldn't have the drugs messing with the system X I know eh y do we do it again lol it is totally worth it in the end X
Think I'm stopping at 2 kids tho , if I get broody again think we will get a puppy ! lol X
Shorty - I have the choice for an elective c section , kust thought I'd give it a second bash lol X how did h get on with ur recovery ? Xx

theAntsareMyFriends · 14/12/2015 15:37

Definitely hoping this forum will bring me luck!

Found out on Sunday a friend is expecting. Really pleased for her but also felt a little sad. Selfish I know but I made sure she didn't know how I was feeling as I don't want to spoil her happiness.

Did everyone here use OPKs. I got the cheap sticks but found that when I used them I got really obsessed with them so stopped. I'm thinking I should try them again as I'm still not sure exactly when I O. If you used them, would you say they are a must? Did they become a bit of an obsession?

I haven't done temping as I'm woken up by an enthusiastic toddler and lying still is never a possibility.

Is there anything else I could try to find out?

Gx91 · 14/12/2015 15:59

Hey the ants - I wouldn't say OPKs r a must buy they def helped me get pregnant , I couldn't temp either for the sm reason ! lol I also got obsessed X I would say checking cm is a good indicator aswell
Positive opk plus ewcm I would say very good chance ul get ur BFP Smile I was taking multivitamins and folic acid and was trying to lose Wight so was exercising daily , Duno if that helped or not ...
Wishing u luck anyways , exciting times xx

Kellz any new test?

Mimilicious013 · 14/12/2015 16:22

With dd i was booked for an induction due to high bp at 38 weeks .was so scared spent hours walking round the neighbourhood and going up and down my front door steps(like a mad woman) .my waters broke early morning and labour began .had the baby abt 4hrs later before the nurse could administer and painstop .it was painful but shockingly fast though i had tears when i pushed by force.but washing with betadine helped the stitches heal faster.

Gx91 · 14/12/2015 17:42

Mimi -Ahhhh helpful hint there with washing with betadine Smile I don't mind the pain as long as I know baby is on its way out X well done u !
Fx u have a nice quick one next time too Smile xx

Peyia · 14/12/2015 18:12

Hey ladies,

Went away for a long weekend as a birthday treat and just catching up.

So sorry Hoggle, I'm actually sad for you. So unfair and wishing you luck for next time Flowers

Kellz, this is sooooo exciting! Like G said, I got an indent. Have no clue if it's linked to a near positive but strange G and I both got it. Fingers crossed for you!!

Congrats Tattie, amazing!! Flowers

Jp, so sweet. Thanks for inviting me to moan. I literally have no where else to do it and didn't want to bring the vibe down!!! So recent preggo symptom was severe constipation last week Blush. I was on the loo and I can tell you I looked like a scene from Alien. The unfortunate thing is that it triggered my fissure, I got this after give birth last time. So friggin painful!!!! I'm managing the constipation with apricots now.

G, how was your appointment? Mine is next Monday. Haven't got a scan date yet.

mimi sorry I missed your update!! Glad to see you are still as positive as ever!

Quick birth story! Used hypno birthing - it basically helped me focus and breathe through the pain whilst counting in my head. Waters went at midnight. By the time I got to the hospital at 8:50 I thought stuff this 'mumbo jumbo earth mother' crap and give me the drugs but I was fully dilated. Baby was born an hour later. So whilst hypno birthing didn't stop the pain (which I naively thought it would) I think it did work to keep me calm - until I clearly was at the manic stage of thinking can I just go home and baby stay there forever! I had always been scared of the 'ring of fire' but actually that was the part I felt most relieved!!!

xxx

Shortybabe · 14/12/2015 19:50

TheAnts OPKs have driven me mad this month. Don't think I'll be using next month. Good luck and plenty dtd.
Gx I'm going to opt for al elective cs next time. Mine was very straight forward. It was painful there's no denying but nothing too horrendous. Although my friend has just had her second elective cs and found it much more painful second time around. X

Gx91 · 15/12/2015 09:03

Peyia lol was totally killing myself at ur "ring of fire " lol sounds like u did very well ! I'm going to try and stay home as long as possible this time and chill in the bath ( hospital is like 5 mins up the road )
I do panick easily though and will probably worry about babies heartbeat etc
Does any one know do u have to do it it ou waters break ?
Mine. Did the first time and they told me to go in ? x
The ants - will probs b less stressful not using OPKs , especially over Christmas , just going with the flow sounds good , b lovely if u got a lovely surprise BFP soon X
An elective c section does sound so much easier and would b nice to have the date for baby arriving , a bit concerned it's gona hurt even more second time !
Who nose what will happen nearer the time , I'm pretty anxious about childbirth this time as last time was long and hard going ! X

How is everyone this morning ? Grin xx

Gx91 · 15/12/2015 09:04

That's meant to say " do u have to go in if ur waters break" Duno wat happened there ! Lol X

Mimilicious013 · 15/12/2015 12:05

My waters broke and i went in after bathing and having my tea .i too want to relax and use the hypno method that peyia used.(if i get my bfp kkk).i think being at home is more relaxing.also moving around helps quicken things.am just hoping we all have it easy
