Anyone ttc baby #2?

Hi everyone,

I'm new here, ttc baby #2 (1st cycle) and already driving myself wild with the tww. I wondered if anyone else is in the same boat?

I was so relaxed about baby #1 that the constant nagging thoughts about am I / aren't I are completely new to me and are making me feel anxious with symptom spotting.

Thought I'd see if there is anyone to talk to on here as my husband is quite matter of fact about there being nothing we can do to find out except for being patient - I know, he's infuriating right.

It'd be great to buddy up if anyone else is in a similar position.

I'm on CD13. We've been away for a few days so missed dtd on the 10th and 11th cycle day. Really hoping it won't hinder our chances. I'm just going to keep bding as often as possible until af arrives or I get a bfp. Technically, the tww starts Saturday but I'm not using opks so can't be sure when I ovulate. Fingers crossed for a bfp thus cycle!

Gx91 · 22/10/2015 18:54

I'm sure u will b fine if u managed the 9th day and 11 ul probably catch the egg lol good luck tho X
I'm on cd9 and using opk this time but not ovulating yet X
It's all very exciting ! Hopefully see a few BFP's soon Xxg

beckslovestimmy · 22/10/2015 19:23

Hi ladies I've got my fingers crossed for lots more BFP's this month! And hoping for no weird or misleading symptoms. Anyone due to test soon ?

jp0303 · 22/10/2015 19:46

I'm in my tww and really trying to be a normal person this month rather than being so preoccupied. I may have gone the other way though and be being too lackadaisical! I have no idea which number cd I am on and haven't dtd for a few days now. Should probably jump on dh tonight just in case!

Good luck jp! Tww is the worst , don't think any of us can control the anxiety no matter how hard we try ! Hope this is your month I'm feeling good vibes ! Smile X

How u getting on becks ? How many weeks r you? U looking forward to your first scan ? Smilex

Loki17 · 22/10/2015 20:05

My tww starts Saturday. No matter how many times I convince myself that I don't know when I will ovulate because I haven't used opks, I know I'll be a crazy person come this time next week.

Gx91 · 22/10/2015 20:50

well we r here for u girls during ur TWW ! We r here to get u through it X Google will b hating me for mine coz I can't stop myself checking it for every symptom I'm having lol ( crazy b*h)

I didn't have the TWW first time around coz First pregnancy was a pleasant surprise , think that's the way to go lol it's longer than waiting for a holiday ! Xx

HoggleHoggle · 23/10/2015 07:20

I'm in the dtd period...not sure when I will ovulate given v late period last month so am dtd every other day for two weeks...CD16 atm. I have been doing some opks but the ones I have say you need to not urinate for 4 hours before testing which is basically impossible for me! No positive opk yet but not sure I'm using them right, apparently morning wee isn't the best. Who doesn't wee for 4 hours though?! After having had a child already?!

Annoyingly I couldn't dtd for a few days earlier this week because I had a lovely 2 day migraine so hoping that hasn't scuppered things.

Sending lots of positive vibes out for you all!

Loki17 · 23/10/2015 08:40

G - your positivity is so uplifting! I love your posts you are keeping me positive! Thank you!
Hoggle, I think dtd is the only thing that you can do. I've lost faith in OPKs - the cheap ones anyway. A friend of mine works in a gyne clinic and said that none of the doctors recommend them as the surge can be missed so easily. They use blood tests to confirm that a woman is ovulating. I'm in the dtd stage too. Cd14. Feels like I'm on a bit of a mission! Trying to keep a lid on my crazy and keep things light and fun for dh. He's decided he is going out for a drink tonight so I need to try and find a way to get him to dtd before he starts drinking. Not easy with a 4 year old running around! It's half term here but I'm back to work on Monday. Hoping that being at work will help take my mind off the tww.

beckslovestimmy · 23/10/2015 09:02

Hi Gx I'm doing fine feeling tired and sore boobs but that's it really. My apps saying 4 weeks 5 days because I have 26day cycles. It was a week ago today I got a definite BFP (I got faint lines from 4-5 days before but thought I was just seeing things!) I did another test 2 days ago that came up straight away. I've booked in to see the GP when I'm six weeks. This time around I'm much more relaxed generally (although I still check the paper every time I wipe!! ).

HoggleHoggle · 23/10/2015 11:06

That's interesting re the opks loki, I am indeed using the cheap ones so perhaps it's getting missed. Have tested I think 4 times over the last week but am trying to be much more relaxed, like you say. Although it's frustrating not knowing what AF is doing, in a weird way it is helping me relax because I can't predict what's going on so I may as well just let go. Not easy, I am a control freak! I may ovulate next week if I have another long cycle but me and dh will be spending a few days apart while I escape our bathroom being ripped out, so if that's the case I don't think this month will be our month!

Glad you're feeling ok becks

TattieHowkerz · 23/10/2015 11:11

Have been trying not to test, but have caved, Twice! Period due sometime between today and Sunday. BFN this morning, not FMU though. Not sure whether to consider myself "out" quite yet. Mega nauseous today, but considering I'm only 12/13 dpo not sure that could be related? I didn't have morning sickness when pregnant with DD.

beckslovestimmy · 23/10/2015 14:19

Tattie your not out til AF arrives. May well just be too early to test yet. Fingers crossed for you.

TattieHowkerz · 23/10/2015 18:18

Thanks Becks.

No signs of AF yet, no cramps, so fingers crossed.

I am in bed feeling tired and still queasy. Hoping it is freakishly early morning sickness!

Gx91 · 23/10/2015 20:33

Loki - think we all help each other lol I got the cheapy OPK tests too I'm on cd 10 and getting nothing hoping I'm still ovulating but if the test r crap then I'm wondering whether to buy some decent ones ! X

Becks - glad ur doing well , the tiredness is tough , especially when u have one already ! Good to know ur not feeling sick on top of that , hope I didn't jinx it lol x

Hoggle - I'm the sm as u think I may ovulate late this month so trying not to loose it over ovulation just yet ! Just taking it easy hoping it will all fall into place this month X good luck ! X

Tattie - wishing u all the luck , don't rule urself out lol way to early ! It's so hard not to test tho , I was crazy last month , save urself some money and mibi test on Monday , slap bang in the middle of sun and tues Smile hoping to see another BFP soon xx

TattieHowkerz · 25/10/2015 08:32

No need to test as got my period this morning. Sadly the nausea turned out to be a horrible stomach bug!

beckslovestimmy · 25/10/2015 08:55

Oh no Tattie sorry to hear that. It's always such a blow when AF arrives. Hope your feeling better soon ready to go for it this month. Thanks

HoggleHoggle · 25/10/2015 09:41

Sorry tattie Cake for you

TattieHowkerz · 25/10/2015 13:47

Thanks Becks and Timmy. Lots of cake being consumed! I can't complain as we probably started trying after I ovulated, next month will be the first proper try

jp0303 · 25/10/2015 14:32

Bad luck Tattie. Better luck next month hopefully.**

I went out with friends last night on a whim and ended up drinking more than I would have planned to bearing in mind ttc! Confused Feeling irresponsible this morning for just in case I am pregnant (although I feel certain I am not). Had such a good time though. Has anyone else been less than saintly either this time around or with pfb?

OP posts:
HoggleHoggle · 25/10/2015 16:55

Yup, I'm drinking this time - not to excess obviously! Am also not being careful about the usual foods until I know for sure I'm pg...otherwise I think I'll drive myself mad.

Loki17 · 25/10/2015 17:01

I'm trying to stay sane. Not drinking but more for long term health as my Friday night glass or two of wine was becoming a nightly thing! I'm 2 dpo and haven't imagined any symptoms so far so that is progress!Grin

beckslovestimmy · 25/10/2015 20:33

With PFB it took us nearly 2 years to get caught and I didn't drink a drop in all that time. The night before I was due to POAS I thought 'Sod it' why would this month be any different and consumed far to many vodka based cocktails! BFP next morning!!!!Blush

jp0303 · 25/10/2015 20:52

Haha Loki, that is progress indeed!

I had a couple of glasses of prosecco and a few vodkas Hmmthat's overdoing it really! I will abstain now until AF arrives (how pessimistic am
I this month?!) and then perhaps enjoy a glass of wine while she's here.

I didn't feel too sharp this morning and had to take ds to a birthday party for a 2 year old, so the thought of drinking again soon does not appeal, gave me a right headache!

HoggleHoggle · 26/10/2015 06:45

Becks that is some immense willpower!

Jp funnily enough I am pessimistic this month too. I prefer that though, last month was torturous.
