"Casually" TTC

TTC number 2, we've agreed to go ahead in a "let's just see whAt happens, no pressure" kind of way. so I'm casually charting my cycles with a fertility app, breezily checking my cervical mucous, nonchalantly scouring the conception board and definitely not compiling a list of names for dc2 Blush.
What is so frustrating is that because I'm "casually" charting all of this I know exactly when my fertile window is and keep bloody missing it because I don't want to give the game away and look like baby crazed monster! Last month my carefully timed advances were thwarted by a five-aside groin strain. I think today was the day and was planning a seduction after dd's bedtime but he announced he was off to his brothers for a bank holiday drink.
This is lighthearted and is not a problem with communication in my marriage. I think he felt the pressure last time and I'm really trying to keep this as relaxed as possible (for him) but that's just not my style.

ktkaye · 31/05/2015 23:04

Fingers crossed Wink
Keep us posted. X

Alice1983 · 31/05/2015 23:10

Oh Ok thank you. I will do Grin

KateR1980 · 01/06/2015 11:32

Oooh, can I please join in on this? I'm casually reading this with my phone hidden in a book even though OH couldn't possibly read it from where he's sitting!

This is our 4th month of trying and he seems to expect it to take about a year as that's what his brother and cousins have said the time frame was for them. At least I know it's on his mind too!

Best of luck everyone, in a totally casual fashion of course!

Whoopsydo · 01/06/2015 12:32

Anyone else in the 2ww? I casually bought some pregnancy tests with the food shop but have to wait till at least Wednesday (but that would only be 7dpo so early still) ...

BigChiefThunderThighs · 01/06/2015 12:52

Hi all - welcome kateR and whoopsy. I'm so casual today that I'm totally not agonising over the fact that my ovia app says I have to wait 8 whole days to take a test!
I'm really going to try and wait though - a bit superstitious but last time the month I got my bfp was the month I didn't do any early testing! And it'll save money on wasted tests - they're a bit like Pringles, once you pop you just can't stop! Grin you test 5 days early - bfn but you think it's just too early so you test the next day and the next until af arrives bang on schedule!

Lol big chief, so true! It's hard to wait when you know there's a test in the drawer .... Good luck with resisting the temptation for 8 days ;) I always know I should just be patient and wait but patience has never been a strength of mine!

kitkat1989 · 01/06/2015 14:00

ovia says i should test in 6 days... iv already done 2 this weekend. been doing opks everyday too as im convinced i havent even ovulated this month. just ordered a new bbt thermometer off ebay too. its becoming an obsession!

ktkaye · 01/06/2015 16:30

I'm so happy that the testing thing isn't just me. My cycles aren't back to normal, I have no idea if I've ovulated and yet because we've started having (casually) unprotected sex for the last three weeks it's like every day is the last day of a potential tww. Now not allowing myself to test for yet another fortnight because I don't feel different AT ALL and surely would feel diff if pregnant? I'm infecting my oh with my casualness now... Last night post dtd he said 'if we conceived today, what would we call the baby?'. This from Mr 'it won't happen for ages'. Grin

Alice1983 · 01/06/2015 22:34

I just downloaded OVIA....I see you ladies speak about it so I'm going to try it. Fertility Score of 4 and says AF Due 9th June from dates I entered . It doesn't tell me when I can test for some reason.

Alice1983 · 01/06/2015 22:44

Ok found it Grin Says 8 days Angry

ktkaye · 01/06/2015 23:02

I'll be interested to see whether the app works Smile . Another reason for me to be super keen for AF to come back. Good luck with your waiting girls, another sleep and it's one more day down.

Has anyone ever used (or hs a non-casual 'friend' who has used) the clear blue ovulation kit? It's quite expensive but I've had no luck with the cheapie sticks and wondering whether the fact that this other one tests progesterone as well as LH might help give an indication is 'owt is happening down there! So not casual at the moment and actually wondering whether to start having protected sex until AF comes back just so I don't have this agonising am I aren't I thing going on. X

spottedquoll · 01/06/2015 23:08

I've got the Ovia app too. It reckons i have to wait 12 days, but I'm quite irregular so I'm trying really hard to not test until I'm properly late. First time round I was four days late, completely knackered and has boobs like concrete before I thought hang on, maybe i should test... Now THAT was casual!

ktkaye · 01/06/2015 23:17

(Bows down to spotted quoll's queen of causal attitude. Excellent work!)

Alice1983 · 01/06/2015 23:19

Before I had MC I got prescribed Progesterone which I actually detested taking at first (felt high all the time; basically couldn't drive or anything ) but by the end of it I actually found hard to stop taking, got a bit used to them Wink It certainly made me feel more 'pregnant '. Don't know if that is the desired effect....but that's how I felt. If nothing happens for me; I will certainly be looking for that kind of thing so I would also like to know if anyone has any friends that may have casually tried it Smile

Alice1983 · 01/06/2015 23:26

How stupid Grin I now seem to have found a new hobby of checking OVIA every 2 minutes in case the App cannot count and miraculously the 8 days until testing turns into 1 Blush

Whoopsydo · 02/06/2015 09:00

We used the clear blue monitor when we were trying for our son. I have really irregular cycles and we'd been trying for a year. First cycle with monitor- pregnant! So definitely worth it! Am going to dig it out again I think ...

ktkaye · 02/06/2015 16:21

Ooo. Maybe I should Will order one. You know, if I felt like it...

Alice1983 · 02/06/2015 17:42

Hello Ladies, a QQ. I have actually been feeling really dizzy today and have Pins and Needles in all random places. Could this be a side effect of Early PG? I am sure I am just going mad, one minute I have them in the arm, then in the hand, then on my foot, then on my face, and so on. And I just wondered whether anyone has heard of this happening before?
Thank you for any advice Smile

Whoopsydo · 02/06/2015 18:03

Dizziness can def be a sign of early pregnancy but not heard of pins and needles ... Fingers crossed!

Alice1983 · 02/06/2015 18:16

Thanks Whoopsydo! I think I am just associating everything to PG and probably nothing to do with it! Grin but anyway, onwards and upwards, I am waiting until Friday to test at the earliest, I might push it and wait a bit more until AFDD if I am coping Ok with the wait.

BigChiefThunderThighs · 02/06/2015 18:25

Alice I'll join in with the casual symptom spotting! Today I have shooting pains in my boobs! Not tenderness just bloody sharp shooting pains that make me jump Hmm a very casual Google suggests this could be an early pregnancy symptom but......whatever [shrugs nonchalantly]

What apps is everyone using? this is our first month of 'not trying to prevent it' but I'm becoming a bit obsessed already :s I think if nothing happens this month I'll be getting the ovulation tests out in secret!

BigChiefThunderThighs · 02/06/2015 18:56

I've found ovia the clearest and easiest to use app

Whoopsydo · 02/06/2015 19:37
