AF Overdue & BFN... Anyone else?

ValancyJane · 13/04/2015 20:33

Anyone else overdue for AF and getting BFN's?! Misery/Insanity needs company and all that...

Came off the pill in December as we decided to ttc #1. Had a 34 day cycle the first month, and then settled back to the 28-30 day cycle I have always had since I was eleven, and previously during breaks in the pill over the years went straight back to that pattern. Last few months, I ovulated on CD17/18 so late, but fine.

Anyway, rolling on to this cycle. I thought I wasn't going to ovulate - it finally happened on CD24 (EWCM & positive OPK). I figured it wouldn't come to anything as it was so late and my luteal phase was so short, am pretty sure we didn't even dtd that day quite honestly, though did a few days before (I think!).

Around CD26 I got cramps, which kept going for about a week, and got really sensitive nipples which I usually get beforehand, so figured AF was on her way.

Anyway, long story short, I'm now at CD35. Still mild cramps, but just a bit twingey, and nipples have calmed down massively. And most importantly BFN, have tested the last two mornings in a row and nothing. Am 11dpo - so think it would probably be showing if I was.

Anyone else in the same boat? I don't feel like I'm pregnant this month, but I keep thinking 'what if' and would just like to know either way for sure now!! (I am half hoping to invoke the law of sod with this post - am pretty certain AF will end up starting after all this!)

I'm 5 days late and bfn. I'm never late and only time we had see this month was 9 days ago. Really confused. Any help???

Snowberry86 · 19/04/2015 20:30

Oneconfusedchick- glad your AF finally arrived- at least now you can start trying again!

I'm on CD25 today, longest cycle I've had for a year. If I did ovulate at CD16 then I'm trying not to be too upset over yesterday's bfn as I would only have been 8dpo which doesn't have a high probability of a positive. Going to wait until I'm 12dpo and if still no AF will test again.

StarDustS · 20/04/2015 08:07

Hi ladies

So quick update AF arrived in full flow this morning :( (but it's weird I don't have the usually severe cramps!) so this month is out... On to the next cycle I spose... Good luck to the rest of you! :) Xxx

dreamingofmynextsleep · 20/04/2015 08:58

Oh stardust! That's rubbish but at least you know where you stand...!
I've got the usual cramping and spotting that comes with the start of AF but then again, I've had that on and off ALL week! We shall see :) x

BigFatPanda · 20/04/2015 10:14

Confused and stardust Thanks

But like dreaming said, you can start again now.

Dreaming any sign of "real" AF not just spotting?

Nothing to report here still no AF still no bfp! Sad

Mixedprincessxx · 20/04/2015 12:51

Thanks to BigFatPanda for sending the link to this thread!

Ttc, my last af was 20 March for 6 days, period due last friday/Saturday which makes me 2-3 days late. Im completely new to all the testing, when to test when i ovulate etc, an app said i ovulated around 3-4th april so iv been testing ever since and im getting BFN. Tested today morning i wanted to wait but it was tempting and i got a BFN. Im getting symptoms such as frequent urination, extremely tired, lower back aches, feeling bloaty, some abdominal cramps (not period cramps) kind of but not similar every now and then, hatred for some food that i once loved and have cravings!
I dont know whats happening as i was never educated about this kind of stuff, x

dreamingofmynextsleep · 20/04/2015 13:45

bigfatpanda.. I'm used to heavy periods, this is bright red now but is only there when I wipe and only seems to "come out" when I'm up and walking around - as soon as I sit down or rest it stops. Whereas when I'm in proper AF, I'm changing a tampon every 2 hours regardless of what I'm doing!

mixed.. Do you have regular cycles? I'm just thinking that you could have ovulated late? The best thing to do is get to know your body! I was on the pill for years and years and came off it last year and I've had to relearn what my body is doing, listen to it :) bye the chances at certain times of the month.. I'm lucky that I get ovulation pains and my cm changes when it happens.. It may well be that you ovulated later this month? And that's why you aren't showing BFP and AF hasn't rocked up yet? :)

Snowberry86 · 20/04/2015 13:45

Still no AF here but not testing again until later in the week.

I though i had "AF is on its way" twinges this morning but seems to have died down now.

dreamingofmynextsleep · 20/04/2015 13:45

That was meant to say "note the changes each month..." Lol x

BigFatPanda · 20/04/2015 14:02

Glad you found us mixed. Hopefully you can get some answers here

Dreaming: really? So definitely not AF then. Maybe a visit to the doctors is in order?

I've brought some opks from the Internet, does anyone know when u should start using them? Obviously I'll wait till this AF arrives just not sure how long after to start testing

StarDustS · 20/04/2015 14:09

Hey Ye it sucks was really hoping this was the month! It really is a odd one this month very light and bright so no idea what's going on!

Big - I'm using the cbfm and it says you should stark testing with OPKs from day 9 ( from the day you start your period) so guess the other ones work in the same way? :)

Xxxx

dreamingofmynextsleep · 20/04/2015 14:12

bigfatpanda.. I've got a direct line to my endometriosis nurse specialist thankfully. Spoke to her Thursday when I lost a lot of blood and tissue and she thinks it's a very early miscarriage... Like a chemical pregnancy that was way to early to even show on a test? But the fact that I'm BFN makes me wander that maybe It isn't? Who knows... Our bodies are so frustrating!?

BigFatPanda · 21/04/2015 09:28

Finally, cd44 AF has arrived! I really hope that was the first and last ridiculously long cycle!

I'm going to start tracking ovulation now so I know what's going on with my body.

Any other news? How are you today dreaming?

Jessica2point0 · 21/04/2015 17:40

I'm now a week late, 19 dpo, bbt still high. I've had a 12 day luteal phase in every cycle since I started temping (October), and my bbt doesn't normally drop until af has started. Bfn yesterday. I was convinced af has started overnight (wet feeling first thing) that I didn't collect fmu today.

I'm now convinced that I either have a luteal cyst or ovarian cancer (thanks google!). Have a doc appointment for next Tuesday morning in case nothing has happened by then.

In the mean time I'm gonna go 1 more hour with no fluids (been 2 already) and test again, hopefully that will be concentrated enough to resemble fmu. It'll be the first time I've tested with dp in the house!

Snowberry86 · 21/04/2015 18:54

CD27 here and no AF yet. Going to test tomorrow morning!

BigFatPanda · 21/04/2015 19:53

Let us know how you get on Snow

Jessica I'm pretty sure you don't have cancer so step away from Dr Google!

This was the longest cycle I've ever had in my life and I can understand that everything crosses your mind as to why it's happening and what's going on. Try not to worry, see what your gp has to say and go from there Smile

Snowberry86 · 22/04/2015 07:00

CD28 and bfn!

Feeling pretty shitty, try not to get my hopes up every month but couldn't help it this month.

Just waiting for AF to start now so I can do the whole thing all over again next cycle.

The disappointments get harder every month through.

Jessica2point0 · 22/04/2015 10:23

AF finally arrived! First time I've been pleased about that in over 6 months! Can finally get on with trying again.

I'm pretty sure it was a corpus luteal cyst cos luteal phase should never last that long, but they're usually harmless and don't affect fertility so I'm not worried anymore.

It has taught me a lesson about waiting to poas though. Wait until Af is due, test, if negative wait a week before testing again.

porkchop83 · 22/04/2015 11:45

Can I ask how many ladies who posted here got their bfp?

I'm in the same position now. CD36, making af 5 days late, and still NO af and bfn! Confused What the frick body?! What are you trying to do to me?!
Going slowly crazy with some pretty strong symptoms - white/yellow lotiony cm, veiny boobs, vivid dreams, bloating, nausea, had cramping CD26-29 and I'm exhausted after 9 hours sleep!

I started thinking that if I'm not pregnant then something isn't right.

porkchop83 · 22/04/2015 11:47

Snowberry86 - Don't feel too disheartened, you're window isn't closed yet. xx

JoeyBun · 22/04/2015 13:15

Hi, I haven't posted on this thread before, but I did post on a similar thread recently as AF was late but I kept getting bfns. Well I tested today on cd 51 and I got a BFP. Prior to this I last tested just over a week ago when af was 2 weeks late and I got a bfn and had resigned myself to the fact that I wasn't pregnant and was worried that there was something wrong with my cycle. As I tested a week ago I think I must have ovulated really late, making me 4-5 weeks pregnant, rather than being 7 weeks which I would be from my last AF. Anyway I have spent ages googling 'late period' etc over the last few weeks so thought I would share this to give others in the same situation some hope. Best of luck to you all xxx

BigFatPanda · 22/04/2015 13:19

Congratulations Joey!!

porkchop83 · 22/04/2015 13:56

Congrats JoeyBun! I'll keep holding out then and see what happens. x

Allwayslookingforanswers · 22/04/2015 16:45

I am 6 days late and have had 3 x BFN. I have been TTC for 11 months, part of me wants to be pregnant right now and part of me is nervous as the EDD would be around Christmas.

I have a DD, it took a year with her, when ttc that time around I was often late with the AF and spent a fortune in pregancy tests and I was much more emotional about the whole thing, however since having coil out last May I have been fairly regular and thought that it might take a year or so.

I have lost 12lbs, I am genuinely trying to get healthier.

I have a question, could my missing period be a sign of something serious? I am just a bit worried as I am off on holiday on Sunday, we have travel insurance but still a bit nervous.

Allwayslookingforanswers · 23/04/2015 12:30

AF arrived, a week late.
