AF Overdue & BFN... Anyone else?

Anyone else overdue for AF and getting BFN's?! Misery/Insanity needs company and all that...

Came off the pill in December as we decided to ttc #1. Had a 34 day cycle the first month, and then settled back to the 28-30 day cycle I have always had since I was eleven, and previously during breaks in the pill over the years went straight back to that pattern. Last few months, I ovulated on CD17/18 so late, but fine.

Anyway, rolling on to this cycle. I thought I wasn't going to ovulate - it finally happened on CD24 (EWCM & positive OPK). I figured it wouldn't come to anything as it was so late and my luteal phase was so short, am pretty sure we didn't even dtd that day quite honestly, though did a few days before (I think!).

Around CD26 I got cramps, which kept going for about a week, and got really sensitive nipples which I usually get beforehand, so figured AF was on her way.

Anyway, long story short, I'm now at CD35. Still mild cramps, but just a bit twingey, and nipples have calmed down massively. And most importantly BFN, have tested the last two mornings in a row and nothing. Am 11dpo - so think it would probably be showing if I was.

Anyone else in the same boat? I don't feel like I'm pregnant this month, but I keep thinking 'what if' and would just like to know either way for sure now!! (I am half hoping to invoke the law of sod with this post - am pretty certain AF will end up starting after all this!)

It's awful isn't it Jessica. I'm currently 13 days late so would definitely of tested positive if I was pregnant by now.

I'm not actively ttc right now so I can only image how all of you who are how feeling I really hope you all get bfps soon. After all this stress you deserve it!

bigfatpanda.. I'm sure you would have had a BFP by now, especially at 13 days late? Are you sure when you ovulated? :)

I'm due AF Monday.. But started spotting (7dpo) Monday with awful cramping. Cramping continued but bleeding stopped until yesterday when I had heavy bleeding for an hour with clots and then it stopped again! Cramping continues. I'm thirsty, peeing like a race horse, super bloated and been nursing a headache since Tuesday :( spoke to my endo nurse who has suspected a chemical pregnancy - but can't be sure until AF either arrives in full swing Monday or I test positive.... :( so stressful!

I came across this thread and helped me realise im not the only one going through this... so here is my story...we have been trying to conceive for about 2 years now and still no luck :( it does not help that i have PCOS (anyone else suffer from this?) cycles are usually on avg 35 days.

i have been using the CBFM - anyone else use this? anyway so it detected a peak for me on day 26/27 and im now 10/11 DPO no AF - but sore boobs/bloated ( my jeans are all tight!) took a internet PG test today which showed BFN... im not sure how long to wait before i should test with a non internet test BUT scared that if it shows a BFN ill be devastated....this is so upsetting! xx

Hopefully you're not having a chemical. I had a subchorionic haemorrhage with my dd when I was about 4 week pregnant. Could it be that? They're usually harmless and lot more common than I thought.

stardust, it's so hard! I've been obsessively researching, and the independent clinical studies seem to say that hpts are actually only accurate between 40 and 90%. The American FDA website reckons that 10 - 20% of pregnant women will get a false negative the day af is due, and for reliable results you should wait 1-2 weeks after af is due!!!

I'm wondering whether I should get a frer cos I've been using sainsburys tests so far. But I'll be really annoyed if I spend that much on a test just to get another bfn. I spoke to my mum about it today and she told me to be patient! I'm not feeling very patient. Maybe if af hasn't shown up by Sunday I'll get a frer.

Ahhh ok! I go by my ewcm also - along with the ovulation pains I get each month.
Oh bigfatpanda.. I've never heard of that! Did you then go onto deliver a healthy baby? :)

stardust.. AF won't arrive (if you aren't pregnant) until you are 14 dpo and some people don't get a BFP until they miss the period? So maybe wait until the day your AF is due and test again? :)

due to the PCOS i have irregular periods ( another hurdle :( ) so im day 37 today so was hoping that this was the month! the whole waiting game is so frustrating... but lets see fingers crossed ill see if i can wait till Next Friday to test if no AF :) wish me luck!! :)

i totally agree and all this stuff on the internet is driving me crazy so much conflicting information out there... Good luck to you tho hopefully this is your month!

iv not tried Sainsburys but tried Tesco in the past with no joy :(

stardust.. PCOS throws everything up in the air doesn't it! :( maybe give it another week.. And test again - although that is insanely hard to do, for me anyway! Lol

I think, with regards to tests, cheap tesco or sainsburys ones are just as good as expensive digital ones! :)

Yes Dreaming. She's 18 months now and hiding in a pillow fort on the sofa as her nanny let her sleep til 6pm! ??

I tried wilko tests today £3.50 for two. I was going to try pound shop ones to save a bit money but couldn't get there today. Such an expensive obsession isn't haha!

Oh I love it! I used to make pillow forts - naughty nan for letting her sleep so late though lol
Hmm.. I have no idea what my body is up to. I didn't sleep a wink last night because I had this constant tugging sensation in my left handside... Which I've heard is what tendons stretching feels like in early pregnancy? Not a clue? Lol

I ordered a load off of amazon - can't remember how much they were though, got a few of them in a pack to be fair! :)

Finally managed to get some sleep last night however the tuggling, pulling sensation in my left hand side (feels like my ovary) continues.. Some more spotting this morning also. Headache since Tuesday that will just not shift and a Definite BFN this morning at 12dpo?

Oh dream I'm sorry! Hopefully you get you BFP soon! I also took one today (couldn't resit after thinking about it all night) and a definite BFN too! Off kitchen renovation shopping today to keep my mind off it but it's hard! Have a lovely day xx

Of course tested again today just to be certain. Bfn. Again. My boobs are so sore I also have an awful headache that I can't shift and heartburn last night

It's the not knowing really that's so bad isn't hopefully we'll all know one way or the other

I'm now 4 days late and another bfn. Booked a docs appointment for a week on Tuesday, by which time I'd be two weeks late. Temps still high so dunno what's going on (16 days of high). Gonna keep testing with ic hpts unless af shows, and test with another proper test on Tuesday. Grr, I hate waiting!

When you guys say your temp is high.. Do you mean slightly higher than normal? Or really high like low grade fever??

dreaming, I have two ranges for temp. Pre ov I tend to have bbt at 35.90 and post ov around 36.50. It's the change that matters for detecting ov (the progesterone produced ups your base temperature). If you're not pregnant then your temp drops back down around the time of af, if you are pregnant it stays high. So I'm nowhere near feverish, but still in my high range. It actually seems to be getting higher (i was 36.72 this morning). In all previous cycles since I started tracking (October) I've had 12 days of high temps then woke up to af on 13 dpo.

Ahhh ok! Am I right in suggesting that you do your bbt first thing in the morning??
I've just tested my temp and it's 36.81 .. Which is obviously at 6.15pm and not first thing in the morning lol x

Yep, it has to be literally the first thing you do before you even get out of bed - because everything you do during the day will affect it. I do occasionally check in the evening and it tends to be around 37 then. I keep meaning to check just after exercise too, but never remember!

It's the temp shift that you're looking for, not the actual temp itself.

Ah ok... May have to do this once my body decides to either start AF or give me a BFP. I've had awful cramping and on/off spotting ALL week.. But due on Monday and I don't think I can handle another week of feeling the way I do! :(
Just about to get ready for my night shift with horrendous back pain, cramping and a headache :( ergh!?

Im currently CD25 but been ttc for 13 months and each cycle has been 21-23 days so am classing myself as "overdue". I am not overly sure when I ovulated this month- it is usually around CD9-10 but think it may have been late and been around CD16.

I had a bfn yesterday. Going to wait until CD28 if I make it that far and then test again.

I will be really annoyed if I have a longer cycle and then am not pregnant as I was happy with the reliability of my 21-23 day cycles and don't want a new problem being thrown in to the mix.

Currently waiting fertility clinic appointment. So far DH SA normal and my ultrasound and bloods also normal.

13dpo and nothing. Really crampy but not my usual AF cramps and just a bit of spotting on my night shift last night. That's it.

So fed up. Just want to know ether way! :(

Just to update - CD53 and AF finally arrived - kinda relieved as pretty much knew I wasn't pregnant altho hate the long wait. Going to try and better chart ovulation this month and have a DR appointment booked .x
